Of course! I thought we went over this! We're black mages, we're supposed to be selfish.
Alright than if thats how you wanna play it...if I don't want SGT_Chubbz to continue eating my brains, and only the Evincar is protected, than my option is to become the...you fill in the rest Sir Auron
Awww, I love seeing all the young minions and disciples getting along so well. If this was anywhere else but CMB, that would be taken oddly.
Anywho, out of curiosity for those who play Standard, what's everyone playing?
I am playing: Vampires with a splash of Red, Jund Aggro, and a form of RW/b/u Luminarch Control (Depending on the mood, its either RW, RWU, RWB, or RWUB lol)
I'm also just finishing up Bushwhacker Aggro.
Also out of curiosity, we should probably get some ideas moving for CMB Tournament 2 if we want to host it again. If we do, I'll run it by rianalnn to make sure he's ok with us doing it again, mainly because I kinda just threw the idea at everyone last year. While Legacy and Extended are fun, I still wanted to do Alara Block constructed, but I think T2 will get the best turnout? I dunno though.
I'm play standard Sir Auron and my deck is a mono black life drian with mostly creatures and sanquine bond my other spells but two is stuff for me to get life so that sangqine bond hurt who I'm playing it work pretty well last week.

The dead is my army my dead and your dead is my army.
I've been going all over the place trying different things to see what I like and what's worth spending time tweaking.
I've done MBC (with 1 Mountain for Terminate/Earthquake, has 6 MD creatures). I've done GWB Rock (Knight of the Reliquary/Ob Nix). I've done G/R Warp (haven't built an actual Jund version yet). I've done MWC (because I love Martial Coup). I've done Nocturnus aggro a few times, one with a splash for Ranger of Eos/PtE, another with a splash for Pulse. One MWS I've been working on a Valakut control list (people are scared of Obsidian Fireheart, and Rakka Mar is better than you think she is ) (also includes a swamp for the same reason MBC included a mountain... and because attacking with Igneous Pouncer is hilarious). Hell, I put together a Sigil of the Empty Throne list (in blue for Ponder/Hindering Light) that works better than it has any right to and a Jund ramp list that doesn't play Bloodbraid Elf (gasp! You can play X spells!).
For FNM/Game Day this weekend I'll probably be running a midrange Naya Cascade list. It shows promise, seems durable, and affords a lot of options for tweaking.
I would say i play casual but i'm not entirely sure what sets casual encompasses....
I'm pretty sure i do (someone know the sets offhand?)
The decks i have/play B Rats (tribal/fear) B Zombie (tribal, aggro) B Sacrificial Victory (sacrifice, posted before)
(notice a pattern yet? :sneaky:, cuz now i'm going to screw it up) GWBRU Sliver:facepalm: (tribal, hate me now) W Samurai (deconstructed/in progress) BW Knight (only in thought)

do youthink the mono black sanguinebond life gain with consume spirit tendrils of corruption etc... is good enough for me to build for FNM
Maybe, but everything you've listed is pretty expensive (cmc). Duress, doomblade and low casting cost cards would be absolutely essential if you plan on surviving against aggro.
Now, I'm trying to make a decision with a deck and you guy are going to help me:
This was originally a cube deck that I loved, but eventually turned into a regular constructed deck, hence all the singletons. The deck isn't built so much to win (although it does that alot :D) so much as to show off black's aggro cards through the ages, with the primary focus on the black knight family. There's no life gain in here because when I play suicide black, I actually play suicide black. Either I win or I lose, no tricks.
My problem is, smallpox isn't a combo with pump knights. They're suppose to be sinkholes but 1) I haven't the cash for those and 2) they've worked quite well in the past. I enjoy the synergy they have with reanimate, turn 2 smallpox, turn 3 reanimate whatever I just discarded.
Quest for the gravelord however has been great, to point where I replaced carnophage for it. Question is, should I start replacing the smallpox with additional quests and something else?
Hey Darth Bunny i typed out a list of sorts what it be like but its more a life loss creature control (and type2 inexpensive:D)
But you can tell me if you think id work

I use two Needlebite traps in my deck so if I'm playing a white player with a soul warden I can suck 5 life from them fast for one it have work for me on FNM.

Soul Bleed and Banewasp Affliction are horrible cards. Cut them for more Sign in Blood. Also, check this thread out. I think it will give you a big step in the right direction.

QFT, though you're missing a link.
I'm not sure if anyone else has considered this, but Sorin Markov might be playable in Vampires.dec.
Sorin, while handy, seems more like a control card. If I was going to play a 'walker in Nocturnus aggro it'd be Liliana Vess. She's also sturdy, and all three of her abilities can be very relevant (Sorin is really all about the +2). If I was playing Vess, I'd try to make room for few 1-ofs (Mind Sludge, Eldrazi Monument, and Consume Spirit immediately come to mind).

I agree. Liliana is the better option. Sorin is good, but I think Liliana gives the deck more versatility. I am also a fan of her interaction with Vampire Nocturnus.
Well in my deck this week for fnm I'm using both Liliana and Sorin I will let you guys know how that work out when I get home if you guys will like I can post my deck for this week and you cna tell me what you think.

Still not sure about bad moon. I liked phyrexian arena and it was a great stepping stone between necro and dark confidant (magic history here, not actual game play :stupid:)
On a Duel Deck note, did anyone else get them? I actually was ticked off at how overpowered Garruk's deck was. Not only did it win most of the time, but Liliana's card quality was significantly worse than Garruk's. Probably the most unbalanced of the Duel Decks so far IMO, though I never did play Elves v. Goblins. Worst disappointment ever, though I am happy with the new arts. Liliana's Snuff Out and Garruk's Harmonize are epic win!
Though after getting those and doing a few trades, I am only 4 cards away from having one of every printing of every Planeswalker: Needed, X-Box Garruk, Sorin, Nissa, and Tezzeret and then I win.
So I drew up another deck list. I've been playing RWU Luminarch, which is an awesome deck by the way. Here's my current list:
Went to a Sealed PTQ on Saturday. Had a lot of fun, but it was also a little dissapointing.
I pulled Naya allies (light in white, mostly there for Journey to Nowhere). No really bomby allies aside from Murasa Pyromancer and Kabira Evangel, but I had enough to make them all relevant and I did have a Terra Stomper. My only fixing was Arid Mesa though, so I can definitely say I was being greedy with my colors, but I think I built it correctly. Biggest lack in my pool was no Vines of Vastwood.
First 3 rounds I don't lose a game. Round 4 was the mostepic two games of limited I'll ever have. Highlights include playing Lavaball Trap to take out a Vampire Lacerator that was going to kill me the next turn, him playing Punishing Fire on my Highland Berserker that was going to kill him next turn when I was at 3 life, and forcing him to keep his Rampaging Baloths from attacking because I had a 2/2 Oran-Rief Survivalist and was at 5 life with an Arid Mesa on board that I had opted to not use several turns before. So I'm 4-0 in matches... and then lose 2 matches in a row. Round 5 I lost to a turn 5 Conqueror's Pledge because I stalled one mana away from Lavaball Trap for 2 turns. The turn before I drew the mana I needed, he kicked a Bold Defense. Game 2 he boarded out the white (!?), and I lose to Roil Elemental after using my removal on increasingly large Umara Raptor's and a River Boa. Round 6 I lose to an amazing R/G deck with 2xBaloth Woodcrasher, Terra Stomper, and whatever other utility and removal he could want. Round 7 I stomp a R/W player who tried to guilt me into conceding (he was top of the 4-2s and would likely make top 8 if he won, I had no chance of top 8 but wouldn't get product if I lost). I ended 5-2, 11th place, product opened included a Goblin Guide and a Verdant Catacombs. One of the people I went with made top 8 (yay!), another made 12th (he and his last round opponent would've both made top 8 if they drew, opponent opted to not draw ).
