Don't get me wrong, Cloudthresher rocks my socks, I just don't think it's as powerful a finisher as either dragon. The only game where I knew I didn't have a chance was against a faeries deck who sowered my Broodmother and I didn't draw the removal for three turns. Seriously. Three turns with an active broodmother made the game prettu much unwinnable.
A pretty nice and synergistic B/R control deck. Persecute empties their hand with a servant out. Commandeer can take the best spell for the low cost of a couple lands in hand. Guttural response is R Counter target instant spell. Deathmark is B: destroy target creature if you can set a servant on green or white. Oona makes tokens on all cards, and backlash kills. Pretty nice control deck utilizing two sexy ladies.
This is much more of a tempo/control deck that waits for chaotic backlash to win the game. Strong removal, strong permission suite, and one hell of a kicker win condition. Fun fact: painter's servant makes lands blue too. Spell syphon owns.
Sooo...thoughts?
EDIT: Reddington can you ask how strict that no-netdecking clause is? Specifically does it include fetch lands and rav duals? If so these decks need to change. Also is it 40% of the cards for the SAME netdeck? i.e. Sexy ladies plays fallout (naya) duress (Deathcloud/rock), Chrome mox (faeries/wizards), and bloodstained mire (domain zoo). All of which are completely different decks (well...naya and domain zoo aren't COMPLETLY different...). So it's not really a net deck, they all just use the best card available to solve the metagame.
The entire no-netdeck policty was instituted so that way somebody wouldn't have the brillant idea of putting Epochrasite into Affinity and calling it a day. Basically, if it doesn't resemble a 'single' list you'll be fine. But if you have any concerns, you can ask our Extended liasion Shin.
I thought about terminate..that would definitely replace smother in BR. Though I wanted to minimize our cards that didn't hate on blue. We totally need to name the B/R deck AoK's Sexy Minions!!! I've never met such a passionate blue hater as AoK.
I like the BR version, but I am not a fan of the Glutteral Responses and Chrome Moxes. Instead I suggest some more card draw, and the rest being a toolbox, since we have a tutor.
chrome mox is absolutly neccesary with the speed of the format. squee is hoorrid. persecute is really the reason i choose black so i want to keep that at 2-3. nights wisper is outclassed by PArena. the rest are answers that seem way situational, not to mention out of theme. i don't like toolboxes in straight control decks because u trade 1-1 so much already. and for gy hate extirpate is better.
i do like adding another backlash due to its auto win on turn 10 (this is a contol deck) and burn is fun in general. guttural response is soo good here. it stops all removal and permision and instant card draw as well as combo's tutors.
we also need to keep the volume of blue hosers up as high as possible to get flavor points. we may want to add a tendrils of corruption for some life gain though.
the only thing in yards worth removing is loam. extirpate prevents cycling tricks and debilitates decks. relic is vulnerable to artifact destruction, cycle tricks, and countermagic.
those aren't reasons not to play it the reason is that while relic is vulnerable to dest/counter/cycle tricks extirpate isnt which makes it more consistantly powerful.
extirpate martyr gg. I havent seen a good tron/dredge list since the week after berlin so i stopped worrying about them a while ago.
the cycle trick is to cycle/dredge ur loam back in response to gy removal. not possible with extirpate.
Extirpate is in no way more consistent than Relic. Aside from the artifact destruction and counterspell arguement, which is a silly arguement to begin with.
extirpate martyr gg.
Not true. The deck is much more resilient then you're giving it credit for.
I havent seen a good tron/dredge list since the week after berlin so i stopped worrying about them a while ago.
Doesn't mean they still aren't around :p.
the cycle trick is to cycle/dredge ur loam back in response to gy removal. not possible with extirpate.
My point is simply that when it comes to extirpate v relic, relic may be a tad stronger of a card, but extirpate is much harder to stop which makes it better. Sure martyr.dec as well as any deck with a loam engine CAN run without their key pieces but if you're playing with a competitive deck, and playing well, they shouldn't.
Also look at the list above, I modded it a bit to fit in more card draw (love me some thirsty) and completely took out the backlash plan. Plan A) is now get painter's servant down, get jaya down, destroy all their lands, discard anything then can cast and counter the rest. The deck is so much fun. And using Jaya as a key strategy piece feels more in line with the challegne.
I just don't think Persecute is good enough to be a four of.
Also Psi is right Relic is much better.
With our deck we don't need pure speed, we need stability and to be able to slow down the game. Chrome Mox is bad when we are trying to gain card advantage. This is really a CA/toolbox control deck.
Anyways the deck wants to be a toolbox deck. I like it as a toolbox and that is why I included more card draw, Arena isn't enough.
Also I do agree on needing life gain. Maybe some Tomb's and a corrupt or tendrils to search up?
Also Japan is going well... it's raining right now.
Good luck and if you need anything, ARD's right next door

As of Jaya.. I have two ideas.
1) Painter's Servant mwhahahaha! Chaotic backlash maybe.
or
2) Make her indestructable/ more tougness than 6 to abuse last ability.

Oh... we get the victor of clan contest 1. How quaint.
Well, I suppose there's some shenanigans we can cook up, yes?
And maybe a few madness cards to help with her ability. Also add blue for counters and card draw.
That's like the only Red Madness spell right now...
Fiery Temper.

Maybe if we go BR we could put something like Jagged Poppet in it or Murderous Redcap. *shrug* (I have no extended legal skills at all.)
Also, if we wait a few weeks, Terminate.

i so wish we could play our own dexks.

Relic of Progenitus is by far the best graveyard hate Extended has. Its far superior to Extirpate in what it does/can do.
And hows your trip in Japan been thus far Guardman?

Thats not true. Theres stuff tron uses(Academy Ruins for one), Dredge, and Martyr of Sands decks.
It prevents one way of cycling after it is done the first time.
So does Relic.
Sure, but the positives outweigh the negatives here. And thats a silly reason not to run an artifact :p.
How so?
Thats another silly reason not to run something in a deck :p.

basically a tempo control deck that counters/discsrds or lets jaya destroy anything until u simply kill them.
