We all remember our first card, our first booster, and (most importantly) our first deck. That feeling of putting together a haphazardly (or maybe not) bunch of cards we felt had potential. Seeing that deck come together was probably the hook that got of us into Magic. It was a gateway to card design, drafts, and tournaments.
The fact many of us still are dedicated to the game and community around it is a monument to our endurance.

Clan Contest #2: ENDURANCE is the segue between the Survivor Contest, and the later Clan Contest #3: Name TBD (A Deck Auction followed by Tournament).
Clan Contest #2 is open to everyone, while CC#3 will sadly be limited to those clans that participated in Endurance.
This is how the contest works:
-Each Clan that participated in SURVIVOR will recieve one of the original set at random (It'll not be the same card they submitted however.)
-After recieving the card, the Clans will have two weeks to make a Extended Legal 60 Card Deck with a 15 Card Sideboard, following the Banning & Restriction list
-The Deck must be original (Any deck that shares approximately 40% of nonland cards with a net deck will be disqualifed)
-The Deck must be based around the card (By either supporting it, or being in theme)
-At the end of the first week, each participating clan must give an update in the from of a short paragraph describing the intent of the deck (not necessarily the final idea) to ensure that the deck won't be built at the last moment by one member
-Deck Building must be collaborative between Clan mates
-Helping others build decks is allowed and recommended
-Sabtogaing, self evidently, is not and bases for DQ from the contest
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because the deck building is a community process, do not hate on a particular deck being built.
After that's done we have
-After the two weeks, judgings will take place in three parts
-Clan Popularity: Each of the participating clans votes on one particular, deck not their own, on ANY criteria. Each vote is equal to 1 point.
-Thematics: A contigent of representives from all participating Clans, will discuss and order the deck by how well they follow the centric card. Some number of points for first, second, etc.
-Tourney Viability: The same reps along with an Extended laison, will aid in order the decks in terms of competiveness (setting it up for Clan Contest #3)
-Points are added the winner is determined

The whole non netdeck is to promote creativity, and 40% of a deck is 24, which is 6 playsets of cards. However, no deck will be DQ for net decking, without proper review from an Extended laision. But honestly, there are 5180 cards in the Extended rotation.
5180. I'm pretty sure people can figure out new ground to break.
But still, we'll have a Extended Laision determine net decks.

Oh, and ARD's in (of course)
Sure, stuff like Snapping Drake and Goblin Piker are for limited. But Null isn't even playable against a 5 year old whose hand consists of a 6 of Clubs, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Chimney Imp, and a very large cumquat.

The netdecking thing is more like, your deck shouldn't look like an Affinity deck with Epochrasite thrown in, Godsire in Naya Zoo, or 5c Get There. Not to say you can't have
Basically when building your deck, make sure it isn't too similar to an existing one in the EXT competive.
The entire idea of this is to make a deck with your clan and not copy someone elses. And (b/c this may become an issue) if our Laision deems it to a netdeck, you can petition for an overturn.

So, in one week's time, this thread needs to be repopulated with a progress report of your deck.
Also, point clarification. There is no 'net decked cards'. There are card when used together form a netdeck. The restriction is too prevent people from throwing their card into something from EXT competive and calling it a day.
Wait, so after all the trash talk from NYCDK during Survivor about how they were going to rape us all with one arm tied behind their back, they don't sign up for the deckbuilding contest (+ are therefor excluded from the tourney)?
How is the 40% net-deck thing calculated?
In another words if a card is used in a popular net-deck as a one of and we use it 4 times in a 60 card deck are we at 6.67% of our max net deck capacity? And what if the reverse is true, a net-deck uses it 4 times we use it once have we still used up 1.6 percent of our net-decking? Also you say non-land cards that still means I could have 4 of each piece of the Urzatron and still not be using any of my net-deck budget. To be honest I think the rule is stupid but also needed, I wish we could just use the honour system.

I would like to add my voice to the silliness of the 40% netdeck rule. I'm sure intentions were good but this contest is supposed to be about cool design, so that's all we should be judging it on (NOT on power/playability). So let people net deck, an if they do they get crappy scores from the other clans who are all like "you are an unoriginal netdecking bastard and this contest is about interesting deck design. I refuse to vote for you."

The 40% rule sounds harsh, but I think any evidence of "netdecking" will be pretty obvious when it gets down to it.

Weak sauce, NYC. All talk after all.
Does the deck need to be only the color of our card (like EDH) or is it allowed to go free with the rainbow of Magic?
In another words if a card is used in a popular net-deck as a one of and we use it 4 times in a 60 card deck are we at 6.67% of our max net deck capacity?
