He only does fantasy adventures. His main influences are Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance and he generally takes elements he likes from both when he's world building. The most general campaign he did was a pirate campaign.
obviously tabletop games have a tremendous limitation, that is there are two opposing, but necessary, factors in their play;
The first category is playability, or fun factor. A tabletop game needs to be fun, entertaining, and remain so for everyone involved in the game.
The second is depth. A game should offer lots of options and an open environment. It should foster creativity in character and adventure design.
Unfortunately, these two concepts are very hard to include mutually. While not impossible, I've seen very, very few games that offer both in spades.
On the one hand, you have games that are very fun. Quick to roll a character and get in, they can be entertaining and be easy for entry-level players to understand. Combat is quick, fun, encounters go smoothly, and everyone has a grand old time. 4th edition is currently like this. Unfortunately, they tend to be slightly shallow, and, in the end, your options are somewhat limited and, eventually, you will grow bored with the limitations and want something with a little more meat.
Then you have games that have depth. They are immersive, with a system designed to foster creativity and uniqueness. 3.X edition was like this. Even in core your options were immense. In some cases, you could roll up as many as six or seven vastly different characters that are the same class. I'm not even talking about multiclass characters. Not every class had that level of depth and customization, but quite a few did. Magic using classes, for example, had such a wide variety of spells that your spell choice varied your options significantly. (again, only core). Unfortunately, after a while, the math involved in each encounter can bog down the game, and the game can get difficult for entry-level players simply because of complexity. In the end, it can lose it's luster and fun factor.
The key, obviously, is that striking a balance creates the best. The game may not be as deep or as option filled, but it can certainly be fun.

Official Character Sheet Shredder of DAMNIT
DAMNIT: I should never have to shred my own character sheet in frustration.
I also once played in some casual games that had no paper or pens involved at all--the DM shuffled a deck of cards and revealed the result. If the check was a card value higher than the effort, it was successful. Quite simple, really. We played mostly Dragon Ball Z-esque stuff.
consider me a friend then...multi-classing abound, consider it 8 Loremaster/6 Bard/5 some random class I forgot a long time ago. so yeah.
I'm sending out another round of prods for the slayers D20 game, alacar seems to be the only one there

I played in photon's homebrew system Rise. It was a good time, if kind of confusing. Sadly, some ooc drama with others in the group wrecked that game. If I recall correctly though, I was having trouble keeping up near the end when he started revising it.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
It was fairly complicated. Unfortunately, after I had designed it I realized it would be impossible to play in a classic tabletop sense.
There was so much number crunching and probability factors that it would have to be made into a computer game to be playable. Think of all the time-consumtion/dice-rolling/number-crunching of epic level D&D combat. Now multiply that by about 25. Yeah, it was that bad. And impossible to streamline into a more tabletop friendly game.
Still, I think it was a pretty sweet idea, and one that I would eventually like to pick up again.
I had a friend who bought a board game that was about that complicated. That thing was a nightmare to learn and ended up being a wreck in terms of play balance and power level. So wonky, so wierd, so... expensive.
Majesty + HoMM = next Computer Crack. They're working on Majesty 2, did you know that?
I just finally got off WoW, after hitting 70 and realizing there wasn't much to do. Can't do raids 'til I get geared, and can't get geared until I go raiding O.o
It's a broken system.
So now I've been playing Spore for the last couple days. It could very well be considered an RPG (of course, it could be considered pretty much every genre). I feel like I'm playing an RPG: I'm exploring to find treasure, people keep giving me missions to retrieve something or to kill another race.
Looking forward to Diablo III, no longer looking forward to WotLK, wondering about the new mission system in Starcraft II (and when is the dang thing coming out?!).
...also, nice choice, Niv. Kamelot is a good band. A bit over-dramatic in some places, but fortunately their music makes up for it.
So I just found Warforged Artificer two-weapon fighter-dual-wand-sheath awesomeness.
One hand shoots 10D6 lightning bolts of DOOM and the other squirts a 4D8+10 healing salve that cures all wounds. Perfect if you feel like nuking a cat then cellotaping it back together and watching it walk calmly out the door as if nothing had happened.
And Blane?
Think Dawn of War.
There are going to be three Starcraft 2 games. Each one will have all three races as fully-playable in multiplayer, however only one race's campaign will be provided with each installment. They'll also be pseudo-standalone.

That sounds sorta meh. Guild Wars is like that and it works because there's only one playable race(there will be more playables in GW2). The main difference between the 3 GW games is the learning curve and the skin color of toons you can roll. What incentive do Starcraft fans have to buy all 3 games? Why not just wait for your favorite race's game to come out? I hope Blizzard is going to release all 3 at once or each shortly followed by the next. Though I honestly don't know if I'll even have time to play Starcraft II. There's WoW, GW1(I'm done and am after expensive toys now), and Diablo III. I might play Stargate Worlds if there's alot of freedom in it. I want to be a Goa'uld and if I can't enslave another Goa'uld's Jaffa and humans and lay waste to anything or anyone who displeases me, what's the point in playing?
Spore is actually a collection of 5 types of games in one, and they all don't really succeed at doing any of them particularly well. See Zero Punctuation.

You play guildwars, I'm an adict.
and for those that play:
i made it to hall of heroes tonight
and for those that don't, that is the highest PvP arena in the game.
and I finished second!!!!!
I was We Have Cons
EDIT: well the first time i uploaded it, it was upside down
OMG I hate Vista so much for screwing up my computer so that I can't play that. I can't play Portal or TF2, or just about anything made for XP.
Dawn of War raised the bar, SC2 better meet that level of quality (or exceed it).
Not looking forward to SC2 being released in installments. Seems like just another way for Blizzard to milk money out of it's players.
I can keep my grammar nazi contained, not for Niv's lack of trying.
I'll agree that Spore's attempt to do everything means that all those separate genre's are watered down. However, the whole point of Spore is the customizability (spell check doesn't think that's a word. Screw you, spell check, it is now!). I am enjoying the Galactic phase. Anyone know a game that does it better (there's got to be one somewhere)?

OMG!! You're Imperium too?!?! I'm in Crew of the Forsaken[LaZy]. Are you in the Luxon side of things? Its impossible for me to get on for extended periods of time now(my AC adaptor broke on my laptop!) but I generally just farm(I Necro 55 Kinya Province for the Monk Tomes and the merchant within the zone) when I'm on. I'm going to buy a Torm Shield for my HoM and I don't have vast stores of Ectos to fund this venture. I could have gotten it earlier but I bought Vabbian armor for my main toon, Vala Of The Fens, and that sort of turned me off to farming for quite some time. I still need to vanquish a ton of places and get Protector AND Guardian of all 3 continents. I've been playing for about 2 and a half years and only have 1 max title. Sadly its the max Deldrimor title and I got it from CoF runs. Below are some pics of my baby in her Vabbian armor.

Yep, I'm actually the GM of CoF right now ;-)
I've played it for the last 3 years almost, I've never really gone into the tiltle farming thing, I've always just done PvP stuff forthe most part. I bought vabbi armour on my ele while it was expensive, and wish i could have waited.
My Ign main is Emperor Jagang Lee, I'll hit you up in vent/in game if i Ever see you ;-)
and just so you know, if you have more than 5k your richer than me right now lol
I thought about getting into Guild Wars. But it's so expensive. Still, I'd end up saving money in the long run with no monthly fees. But there's like, ten expansions and addons. Oye.

Which is wierd because I don't think the campaigns are really why people want to play the game. They are an interesting introduction to the game and a good tutorial to help you get a hand on how to play the races, but unless they plan to really change things up people are going to want the game mostly for multiplayer, which, afaik, is what most people consider to be the real way the game is played.

I have about 60k right now. I'm saving for the Torm Shield. I got 5 sets of elite armor over the summer to fill my armor HoM and guildies all wondered how I was able to afford it when I claim I'm poor. I just know how to save platinum like no one else.
