WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN [NATURAL 20]
One day, at Photon Eater's Glorious Haunted Castle, he and his henchmen friends sat down to a fun-filled game of D&D.
However, that night... Debbie went to check up on Marcie, and found out that tragedy had paid a visit prior to her arrival!!
Let that be a lesson to you. Don't be like Marcie. Join Natural 20... and save a life! Perhaps your own!
Clan Policies:
1. This should go without saying, but no flaming/trolling, or otherwise being a butthead to members of this clan, or any other (We absolutely will not tolerate badmouthing other clans in Natural 20!)
2. Be open to different gaming ideas. Gamers are notorious for being set in their ways when it comes to how they think a game should run, so please understand that not everyone wants the same thing out of their experience.
3. Just as a general statement, please do not post material from any game system unless you are absolutely sure that information is available through an Open Gaming License.
4. Please keep an active membership. If you become inactive, we cannot assure that your status as an active member will remain untouched.
5. When requesting membership, you may either PM me, or just post a response in the thread proper. It may take me some time to add you, depending on how available I can be. Before you are added as a member, you may be asked to spend some time posting as a friend first.
6. When requesting friendship, all you need to do is ask. We're open to anyone being a friend, so long as you are willing to talk about gaming and want to contribute to the discussions.
7. Do not post links to Dark Dungeon. We've all already seen it, and it's just not that funny anymore, thanks.

Very cool title! and congrats to Wuffles for the suggestion, (even though it does bring up painful memories of something that happened to a friend of mine in Peru :().
And in the recollection of friends, I'd like to be "The eccentric scholar that keeps telling you new places to collect items in your treasure hunt." Or something like that - you know one of those guys that tells you where the next crystal or scroll or special herb or whatever is.
@Wamyc: I must say I am now quite curious to know what happened, although i dont normally pry the mention of Peru (Im from ecuador so it right besides :p) makes me incredibly curious, which is rare.

Im more psyched (no pun inteded :p), about the new rune system, it seems to be so vast and detailed, for those not up to the news the new rune system works as follow runes can now be equiped to slots in the powers, different runes affect the power differently, sometimes boosting effects other times changing the way the power works entirely. It is quite interesting and one of the things that have me more excited than anything.

I have to say it's something of a badjoke.
(1:55 in the first clip) (second clip is self-explanatory. And disturbing)
And it's related because surviving a nuclear fallout is something that happens in that movie, which I assume (perhaps wrongly) had something to do with the thread title.
@Alcar: Awesome Edit! Anyway, to find the next Golden Egg, you should look in the sewers of France. We've been getting suspicious readings from near the Musee d'Orsee.
why would you rather have Warrior, Sorcerer and Rogue? I mean, just a return to the old style where anyone could do anything and the only real separation of class was attack speed?

Have any of you put together a homebrew tabletop game? I've done a few, but none of them have gotten off the ground as well as I'd like, I guess it's got something to do with the people I know who can't make themselves available very often

Homebrew tabletop? I've played variations on d20, but nothing totally homebrew. I know Photon Eater and friends have. The most original game I played was when we played our d20 modern selves and discovered an intricate facility under the campus, where the president of the school wanted to take over the world with a private army of mercenaries.
that begs the question, how much editing is sufficient to be considered homebrew? House ruling and changing parts of the system? stripping the system down so it doesnt include parts of the original? adding to the system? if so my current 4e system would be a hombrew, and Alacar's idea for Gestalt 4e would be a complete homebrew

what's homebrew is kind of a vague term to me. I mean, a house rule? A new class? the class is homebrew. A game where only the basic mechanics remain? definitely homebrew.

It was fairly complicated. Unfortunately, after I had designed it I realized it would be impossible to play in a classic tabletop sense.
There was so much number crunching and probability factors that it would have to be made into a computer game to be playable. Think of all the time-consumtion/dice-rolling/number-crunching of epic level D&D combat. Now multiply that by about 25. Yeah, it was that bad. And impossible to streamline into a more tabletop friendly game.
Still, I think it was a pretty sweet idea, and one that I would eventually like to pick up again.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
I know a guy who created a system based on d10's. He created it when he was like 12 and still uses it for all his games. The games I've played are all d20 though. The DM who created the game I currently play draws things from each edition of D&D and he recently gave us healing surges. This is important because we're approaching epic level and we only have one dedicated cleric. My character is in light armor and when I get hit I really get hit so I need a self heal, no matter how limited it is.
There are a lot of systems that use D10's - Exalted, World of Darkness, Scion, CthullhuTech - I have to say, I often have a lot more fun IRL playing them then I do D20 systems. This might be because most of them are much more heavily anime-influenced, and, well, I'm a serious otaku (without the $100 a pop dolls and figures :p), so yeah.
So what kind of flavor does your friend apply to his D10 system, Bitsy?

It's still Caex, but funnier than Sorcerer/Pact-Bount Adept/Fiend-Blooded/Dragonheart Mage.
EDIT: To set the record straight, it was Niv who suggested the "proving 1 in every 20 people will survive a nuclear blast."
Wuffles just backed up his suggestion. So congrats to Niv for the title.

It was a bit of a mixture of D&D, Majesty, Dungeon Keeper, and Heroes III.
It was fairly complicated. Unfortunately, after I had designed it I realized it would be impossible to play in a classic tabletop sense.

Good work everyone, giving me the credit I thoroughly don't deserve.
Awesome sounding homebrew, Caex - it must be, if it has Dungeon Keeper in it!
Also, I'd like my title to be:
Wuffles_II, Warblade 35, "Ego Too Great To Behold Without Sunglasses".
So what kind of flavor does your friend apply to his D10 system, Bitsy?
