I checked the list for our clan's usernames, nothin'. Still, never hurts to change your passwords every so often.

Yeah, I got that email too. I changed my password. Though I've really got just a few combinations of the same thing...maybe I should change that drastically. Course why would anyone want to pretend to be me on this site? Course it never hurts to thwart those with nefarious intentions.

Actually the only reason I logged in was because I got that e-mail, and my MTGS account is one of the few internet treasures I still have buried. That, and the impeccable timing of my drunkenness.

Kept the Wu up waaaay past bedtime tonight, he's such a trooper. My friend Matt's wedding, + while Nanna offered to have a sleep-over, I thought it was a good chance to represent. . . then Murphy's Law kicked in, + though we had a great-ish time visiting "Australia's Oldest German Settlement (w00t etc)", the reception was Challenge Time. The vegetarian menu:

• Main Course - Baked Salmon w/ Cheese Sauce

Who the hell are these people who never learned that fish are animals? Anyway. Wu toughed it out, + dinner was served very late, + mum can't function on low tummy, so we had to tough it out or else CRASH BOOM etc. Finally realized it was time to force the trip home when the DJ put on Hotel California - that is like the swan song to my life. Make sure they play it at my funeral, guys (closed casket 'cos they never found the body, right?). . .

Still. Very proud of my son, representing the Propers of Marriage or something. Matt loves kids, + they're itching to make the baby, so it was good.

Yipes...STRIPS!!!! Two days and nothing new reported here!! I went to play on Friday night and went 2-2. My draft deck was so bad...I didn't know what to go for! I saw a bunch of things passed to me but I focused on Esper and that was a mistake. I should've gone GWR. I was passed two Woolly Thoctars late in the drat and picked them up just because they were huge!

Oh well....I guess I was just there to have fun!

I've been busy with a Colo campaign lately, but now that it's started, I've got some free time.

School's going great, and it's much easier than high school.

Kristen and I are making plans to move in together. her dad's started becoming a royal douche, and I am wanting to get her away from his abusive tongue before it progresses to an abusive fist, That entire situation has also absorbed a lot of my time.

No more excuses, though. I've made a commitment with you guys, and I intend to keep it. That is, if I'm still welcome in the Called.

It is 12:46 AM and I am waiting for confirmation on 2 Big Day Out tickets I ordered 41 minutes ago. How depressing. It sold out in under 15 minutes, the presales that is. I hope I get these tickets.

If there wasn't so much in your posts maybe there would be more:munch:. Gotta give you a hard time man....I just gotta! Nothing new on the job front....I keep calling people but I guess it takes a few days to go over all the resumes and set up interviews. I should start seeing people in person later this week.....ok tomorrow and Friday. A big-wig in the industry around here died over the weekend....I think most people are just waiting to get past this funeral tomorrow.

I am really getting into EDH lately, and it is more of the building than playing so far, haha. My store is going to do EDH monthly now, which is fun. I have a Mayael deck that I am trying to build. Yum to fat.

I opened my ALA boxes yesterday. I got a Vol and foil Elspeth out of one box, that was exciting. In the same box I also had a foil Hell's Thunder and foil Clarion Ultimatum. Has anyone noticed more foil rares than usual? 3 seems crazy IMO, especially when two are good.

I was pleased with my boxes, except out of the 2 boxes plus 36+ packs worth of product I opened at the pre/release, I only got one Skullmulcher and Caldera Hellion. Boo.

I am currently (still) looking for a new job, I have an interview monday. Exciting.
The girlfriend's 21st is friday, I must skip FNM, hah. (This allows me to justify spending money on magic in other ways)

Nothing much exciting with me usually. I am getting more into doing things at my local shop though.

I've gotten into EDH as well. Though I can't really say why. It is fun, but, still fairly degenerate.

My friend's buddy brought his Ertai, the Corrupted deck to the release, I played it one on one, and he comboed out after I got him down to 4. (Using every broken card ever made he was able to draw/play his deck and storm to whatever and tendrils me)

Its sad that at this moment I've no idea what all that magic babble means.

So...I'm going to have to endorse Obama for President. I've stated that there are things I like about McCain, but there's just not enough. The two big things that got to me was when McCain said he would put a financial freeze on all government spending except for the war and veteran benefits and when he poked fun at a random research project in montana saying that it was an example of wasteful spending. Both of those strike close to home as those are jobs or higher education for me that McCain wants to take away. I mean it was Bad enough when Bush's financial cuts on the NSF cost my group our funding but to cut it more would be painful.

Healthcare has also been an issue thats been nagging at the back of my head. Everytime I get into a hairy situation where one slip will kill me I think, "Lord if your going to strike me down strike me hard cause I don't want to limp away from this." I think like that cause any injury no matter how small will cause me to go bankrupt. I haven't even gone to the dentist in four years cause it costs $150 for an uninsured visit! I think Obama will help me.

It also Annoys me that McCain talks about this financial freeze and at the same time talks about tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthy. Those folks are not even hurting from the financial crisis. Plus putting a freeze at the same time as cutting taxes is as stupid as starting a war and cutting taxes at the same time. Obama will rearrange taxes to be more fair for the middle class. I suppose that depends on your definition of fair.

So I'm definately going to vote for Obama and encourage everyone who can vote to vote for him.


Probably not going to make a difference though. Economy is crashing with another record drop in stocks today. Yeah I saw the news, first time in a long time and they tell me that stocks have dropped 33% or so since last year. I don't even own stocks and I feel a bit panicky by this. The governments bailing out everyone left and right and those people then go on expensive resort getaways. WTF. I've got more debt than I can deal with and I can't help wondering if the governments going to help me out. Wish I could be a bank CEO, go bankrupt, and take my $350 million severance pay. <----bitter some.

I keep thinking how much worse it can get. I've no idea how its going to affect me. The worst case scenario for me is that my credit card increase my APR just for the sake of increasing it. I'm not sure how I can keep up with it as is and if it increased that APR I'm sunk. I better check on my student loan too. Last I saw that variable APR went from 3% to 7%. My auto loan is still the best loan I've got. I really wish I could get another one of those and just pay for everything. But forget that in this economic climate. I couldn't even get help when things were good.

Bah, I'm depressing myself.

Chris, that's not the worst thing that could happen to you. It's not even the worst thing that could happen to you regarding your debt. The worst would probably be the credit companies feeling the financial crunch, and calling in your debt. That means that you'd have to pay everything you owe, immediately, or go declare bankruptcy. And yes, they can do that whenever they want to, it's in your contract. So yes, the economy can and will destroy a lot of people's lives - and not the rich ones! Just the middle class and the former middle class (the poor).

Regarding McCain and Obama, first let me say isn't it funny how most people think they're the only two options? There are many other options for president, it's just that none of them get ANY media attention, so nobody even knows they exist. Everybody just assumes they have to choose from Obama and McCain. Of course, Obama will win, I predicted that almost a year ago. Good old Obama, with ties to EVERY corrupt organization that intends to bankrupt the US, continue the wars overseas, and join with Mexico and Canada to form the NAU. But McCain is no better. They're both being paid by the same corporations to dance the way they dance - there's no real difference. The plan is to destroy the US economy, devalue the dollar, collapse the empire, keep the middle class down, continue to remove the rights granted to the people in the constutution, and maintain control on their 300 million slaves. They admit this, and in the same breath, laugh and say "we can be open about our plans to destroy the US, because almost nobody will hear about it since they're too busy watching the fake news on the TV, which won't report this!" What the HELL do you people think is happening to your country? Do you really think that 300 million people can't survive on that giant chunk of fertile land in the best climate on the planet? You really think you "have to" keep going like you are? You're idiotic sheep being abused and killed, and you do nothing. An entire country of sleeping babies with the blood of millions of brown-skilled people on your hands. The Americans ARE the terrorists and most of you don't even know it. I can't believe you think the economy just naturally falls to pieces every so often and you have to accept it.

You know what printing $700 billion and throwing it into circulation to be used to create more loans does to the economy, right? Instantly, it causes $700 billion in inflation. To put that amount in perspective, it's about one quarter the national budget for a year. It's not a moderate amount, that can just be swallowed up and absorbed over time. It's an amount that can topple an economy. Your money is now worth that much less. A dollar in 1913 has been devalued to four cents today because the Federal Reserve keeps printing and loaning out more money. But the worst news is that the fractional reserve banking system you use means that the $700 billion, put into a bank, can then be used to generate 90% of that amount in new loans. I'm not kidding. And when that money gets put into a bank somewhere, anywhere in the US, it can be used to create 90% of the new amount for new loans. This is how money that was created out of thin air can be used by the banks to create even MORE money out of thin air. One dollar printed can be turned into nine dollars using fractional reserve banking. That's nine times $700 billion in new inflationary debt money. They tell the people "you need this money, or how are you going to get a car loan or a mortgage?" And the people say "fine, print it up, we need our loans". You're just propping up a broken system with more debt. You're not producing anything to export. You're not harvesting your resources efficiently or taking care of them. You're devaluing your own economy and destroying the middle class, leaving only the government, big corporations, and bankers in control. A government you don't even rightfully elect. Face it, guys, you lost.

The US has dropped to somewhere around the #60 best country in the world to live in. So much for "best place on Earth" and all that crap. You've lost your constitution and your rights. You were once the only country where the people run the government instead of the other way around, but you gave it up willingly. You're occupying other countries, killing their civilians - even the little kids - by the tens of thousands per year. You use chemical weapons and depleted uranium. You're one of the worst polluters of the planet. Your government elects itself and is systematically removing your rights. Your media is paid for by the government, bankers, and corporations to spread propaganda. Yes, CNN is 95% lies. You're watching lies as if it's truth, people.

And then, when you're told what's going on, you say "this is just crazy talk from the internet.... it can't be trusted...... I've got Peter Jennings and his friends to tell me what's really going on". Peter Jennings just told you what he was told to tell you. Much of the media either doesn't really know, or they're paid to look the other way.

You really think you're smart enough to catch anyone trying to pull the wool over your eyes? You think you know what's going on? I don't think I even know half of what's really going on, but at least I don't turn my head away from the truth when it's right there in front of me, just because it's aweful and scary.

I say "wake up, America" not because you still have a chance to fix things, but because I'd feel guilty if I didn't. Like alerting passengers on the Titanic that the ship really IS sinking.

And it will stay that way for the near future.
A good portion of our country has no political mind at all, and therefore any third party candidate will not gain any ground. A massive shakeup has to occur, and, well...not going to happen. The system is broken, but we have to do the best with what we have.

R_E, the reason why I'm ignoring your rants about the United States isn't because some idiotic news reporter told me to, but because your words come across as paranoid, overly dramatic, and generally just pessimistic. When you sound like an irrational doomsayer, it doesn't help anyone listen.
