Burn is it's own developed archtype, completely seperate and unique from Red Deck Wins. It always has been, and always will be. Forgive me for being proud of one of the decks that I like to play.
Are we now going to say that every deck that runs the color red is the same thing as Red Deck Wins?

No. Just that Red Deck Wins has commonly been associated with mono-red aggro that packs a lot of burn spells, and burn.dec, for some time.

So who's excited that there's only 1 Faerie deck in the top 8? Or more importantly, TWO Reveillark COMBO decks as well. MEMEMEMEME... although I've never considered stretching my manabase into red to splash Gargadon... I guess it is the uncounterable sac-engine that Mirror Entity never could be... but Mirror Entity makes all my guys big

Only 1 Faerie deck thats awsome, I kinda wish Wafo-Tapa made Top 8 though I think Lark was almost suicidel to go in with, it has a terrible match up vs Faeries so I'm suprised there was even one.
I think that splashing red is a pretty nice idea, it also gives you Mogg Fanatic for instant kill.

I honestly cant see what your getting upset over. If its really burn, and you know its burn, then who cares? Because there truely isnt much difference between the two decks.
One uses more spells than creatures and vise-versa.

I was thinking there would be 3 Fae in the top 8. Two Reveillark decks are interesting especially the red splash.
But I do like how the top 8 is pretty diverse. Shows the meta is healthy.
Burn doesnt run as much creatures as RDW. RDW is more aggro focused.
Exactly, Burn doesn't run as much creatures (namely 8 to 12 creatures, all of which double as burn spells in Mono-Red Burn Standard Version). However Red Deck wins creatures tend to stick around for a lot longer than burn deck's creatures do.
Agreed. I dont think having a grudge against someone is reason to disallow someone from joining.
Fair enough... if I can see a good enough reason to vote in favor of him (namely he performs well in his match, then I will vote in favor of him). However if he continues to shoot down my decks, I will not be happy.

I rarely get upset over decks. I just don't like the two being equated with one another when they are entirely differen strategies. They may look alike on paper, but if you were to play them the same way, then you would lose every game with one or the other of the two decks.

Quarters:
Nakamura vs PV is even, but I'll pick PV.
Ruess beats Mihara handily.
Bohny vs Gindy is probably quite even too, I don't know the matchup too well (I never play green, so...)
Choo will smash Lybaert in tree, four if he's unlucky.
Semis:
Ruess loses to PV because of four post-sideboarded games (he would win in best-of-three)
Choo beats whoever won in the Bohny vs Gindy match.
Final:
PV owns Choo's Reveillark in the final.
However, should Nakamura take out PV, Choo wins. Or if Ruess beats PV in the semis, I think he wins. But Nakamura, Mihara, Bohny, Gindy and Lybaert are not going to win, for certain.
It'll be fun to watch the webcast, I'm looking forward to it

The following cards are the cards you are receiving . Use those cards as a basis to make the card in Round 3.
Round 3
Using the two cards you just received, design a non-permanent spell this round. The spell needs to be an uncommon instant or sorcery that would support the two creatures if they were all in the same deck. It must be a different color and it must be monocolor. The power level should be appropriate for a decent but not "must have" uncommon. The spell should assist the strategy of a deck that is trying to win with the two creatures with an effect(s) that feels very on-color for the color the spell is.
Flying
Whenever Enthymemifer deals combat damage to a player, that player draws cards equal to the number of Islands in play. The new recruit looked confused when the captain's mentioned being "swallowed by the storm". 7/7
----------------------------------------- Aliquantulustinea :1mana::symu::symu: Creature - Leviathan (C)
Whenever Aliquantulustinea deals combat damage to a player, draw cards equal to the number of Islands in play, then discard that many cards. Few mages know that larval leviathans actually make for excellent familiars. 1/3
Round 3 of the tournament begins
My vote is for a green instant or sorcery that allows you to put a basic island into play....

Yes, the names are rediculous, I vot that we make an equaly ridiculous name just to keep it going
Its so annoying, if only Flow of Idea's wasnt already a card, very annoying indeed. Luckily it has to be another colour so it doesn't matter as much, we should just do a green Flow of Ideas but that would be to easy.
Maybe
Some crazy name 2GG
Sorcery
Search your library for a blue creature and an Island, put those cards into your hand then shuffle your library.
Or is that to powerful for an uncommon?

EDIT: Do not make a card that is matchy-matchy and has no other use besides with the two creatures. The uncommon should be useful by itself but fit even better in the hypothetical deck with the two other cards.
Mind Explosion :2mana::symr:

Mind Explosion deals X damage divided however you choose between any number of creatures and/or players, where X is the number of cards drawn this turn.
I mean hey... Most of the time it'll be 2R for 1 damage (not terribly great) but combined with something else (i.e. these) it can become pretty wicked... nevermind that red DOES dabble into strange card draw effects every once in a while.
EDIT: Is also wicked with wheel of fortune effects... Maybe a little too wicked... Maybe make it chooseable between which player drew cards? So something like this:
Deals X damage, where X is equal to the number of cards target player has drawn this turn.
Makes it 7 damage basically if a wheel of fortune has gone off, as opposed to 14... And still works with these guys rather well.

Make it green then. I would have it be splashable, they kind of screwed us with the goddamn QUADRUPLE blue.
I think Black is just as splashable as green in any case, they have about twice as many duals in all of magic.
also, wamyc the contest mod has kind of added to what he expects to see out of this uncommon; Wee.
SO now it has to be something of a different colour, that has effects when both playes draw cards and is good by itself. Wonderful.
