No "post puberty" action here. I've always had an open mind about the homosexual lifestyle. I knew it wasn't for me, but I enjoyed hanging out with them. I always felt that they knew I was straight and that was fine for everyone. I've been hit on and asked to go home with people and I just kindly decline and go about my business. I would talk and hangout and have a ton of fun....some of the more flamboyant friend of mine are hilarious! They really rag on how girls are dressed. I had a friend that used to drag it up a bit, and he would kill me with his comments to other ladies! man...I never laughed so hard!
I enjoy the chicks. There have always been thoughts...not really sexual, but just "what ifs"....but that's natural. The guy that's cut my hair for 13 years alway tries to get me to go out with him.....it's funny!
That is one thing that I really applaude Charlie on. I have to say that I like the fact that he is openly gay and has talked to his family about it. I find that most of time, these are the individuals that are most even minded. They don't go off the deep end because they feel pressured to hide their emotions. This holds true for everyone though. not to get off track....but....I've had friends in high school that were so sheltered and afraid to approach their parents about things that when they were out and about with friends...they lose all control. They smoke too much and drink too much. They hide it all from their parents and then when they go off to college they screw up horribly the first year or so.

@Dave: I don't understand why you would give that information to us. What are you expecting? Are we just supposed to yell at you so that you feel chastised and have some outward motivation to knock it off? Are we supposed to coddle you and tell you it's okay and that we all make mistakes? Honestly, you make it hard to even care at all.
Cyan -I suppose I was expecting some of both. More chastizing than the other. Some of you know me better than others, some of you don't know me very well. I've only met one other Called. And while I do believe we are an elite few peas in a pod. The truth is, few of us know each other in real life. I guess I am expecting to find out who my friends are. I come here for friends, fellowship, to unwind and a few laughs. If you find it so hard to care, why are you here?
JJ - Bring on the ranting! At least it is a post.
You guys, the Called have become like 5-6 of us who post here. The others just post from time to time to say they are still alive. Some post none at all. I really think it is time we found some new blood. What could it hurt? Maybe 2 or 3 known MTGS members. Just some people to liven things up, add some new content and even post. Some of you would like to boot those who don't post, but I don't think that is needed. We can just vote those who don't post in as friends. I know we don't have a friends policy, but we have an unwritten one for some ex-members. IDK, I am just throwing some ideas out there. I'd really like to see us stay, "the few, the proud, the Called." But I'd love to see more posts. Wouldn't you?

Yeah, sure, but who, DUX? Tends to be, when people are interested in being here, they come here. It's easy to throw that around, but really now. What are we going to do, kick out 'seds, who has been Called from the get go? Invite some randoms to start posting in here?
I don't believe there is a practical way to do what you are suggesting.
Dude, I said booting members was not the wat to go. But rather make the non-posting members friends. Hell, keep them as members, that's fine by me. I just figure new members = new posts = more content =

@Dux. I was hoping you'd stay away from the sauce. The thing is yes, most folk like to drink a wee bit every now and then, but if your susceptible to making it a habit and have a history of real negative interaction with alcohol then you're tempting fate even tasting the stuff. I know folks who have destroyed themselves completely with that. Hell, you've come pretty damn close to destruction yourself and I doubt you've any more chances left. Truth be told you're lucky to have as many chances as you had. I suggest you stay away from alcohol, just not worth it.
Um....can I still throw a stone at you?
I once shared a bed with a naked, emotionally distressed, dead drunk, super horny homosexual after drinking too much at a Gay bar.
What?...nothing happened........I'm strait.
Christobal was disappointing. The storm was suppose to strengthen and maybe become a hurricane and the eye was suppose to hit us. That would have been an interesting story. The park even talked about evacuation and sent up security personnel to talk to everyone about leaving the island while they could. But noooo, the storm piddled into nothing and didn't even give us half an inch of rain.
Drama was down, mainly due to the trouble makers not working as much. So it was a very enjoyable week in that regards.
I...um....well I killed a bird today. It was really sad. One of the protected birds, fledgling, but not a threatened or endangered one. I was driving along the beach and it flew in front of me. I really hoped that I didn't hit it, but heard chirps of pain from the front of the ATV. I stopped and pulled it out of where it was stuck, seeing blood ooze disheartened me as I knew a broken wing was a death sentence. Sure enough the wing was broken, heck It twisted upside down as the bird tried to get away. I had no choice but to put it out of its misery. Not sure what the best way to do that is, but I'm sure my method was effective, albeit rather unpleasant. I probably wouldn't feel bad if it wasn't a bird I've been spending my summer protecting.

@DUX: Um, yeah, I'm not going to kick your ass or say it's okay, because it really wasn't. If you screwed up, it's your fault and you have to bear the consequences. *shrug*
@daggs: Oh gosh, I'm really sorry to hear that! I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later? At least now it'll just make you care even more (if possible) about protecting them.
In other news. I have a cold, or the flu or something. Home from school today. Blugh.
I'm with Chris on the drinking issue, Dave. I remember you telling us (and me in particular on AIM) how many days it had been since you had the last drink. I remember being proud of you and telling you so. I remember encouraging you, sending you notes in the mail with Magic cards, and all that.... I dunno I guess I feel a bit lied to and used. I can get over that no problem. The real issue here is that you're not actually sober, lying to your friends, family, employer, government, and so on. You put people's lives at risk, you destroyed property, you went to jail......... and now you're already courting it all again. You've proven you can't handle alcohol. Don't be offended, it's not an insult. You just don't mix with booze very well. So keep the damn stuff out of your brain! Arrggg....
You mentioned that you came clean to see who your friends are. Well, what have you learned? Am I still your friend even though I don't agree with your decision? I hope you realize, as I do, that people can be friends even if they disagree on some pretty major things. I still consider you my friend, even though you led me on about the sobriety thing, went back on your promises to yourself, are breaking rules and laws on a regular basis, etc. I still care about you. Sammy can tell you just how upset I was when you had the accident and had to go to jail. After all those chats, encouragement, clan thread discussions.... all thrown in the garbage so you could get drunk and break stuff.
Anyway, that's a real downer, sorry all.
I'd be happy if a really great forum member came along and wanted in. But I agree with Brian, it's not really active recruitment time. We could mention in our Clan HQ post that we're accept applications, but going out and looking has never worked for us in the past.
Not sure what to do about members who just check in to say they're alive. Probably take them off the list to make it clear we have lots of room for fresh meat.
Chris, that really sucks. You know it wasn't your fault, it was just a random event. Still sad though Did you stomp it to death? That's probably what I woulda done.
Once when I worked at a group home (probably 7 years ago?) and was in nursing school still, a crow was being VERY loud in the group home's back yard. My job consisted of sitting at a desk in the den, reorganizing my decks and designing new cards. In front of the desk was a big window which allowed me to see the entire yard. After about 5 hours of watching this crow fly around, stand in the middle of the lawn, and CAW at the top of it's lungs, I went nuts.
I ran out the back door into the yard, screaming at the crow and waving my arms. I ran toward it and to my surprise it just kept cawing. I kept on running and yelling, but it didn't budge. I figured it would fly away at the last second but I ended up stepping right on it. In a stunned rage, I stomped and yelled and thought I was going to get my nuts bit off. But the only thing that happened was the crow died a terrible death under my feet.
I know I've been silent on the entire issue with Dave. Is it because I don't care? No. Rather it's because it's something that I didn't want to get involved with as I didn't think that I'd be of much help, and I didn't think that it'd be much good for me if I were to get involved. But I have read everything that's been posted over the last few months (years?) and Daron's post reflects my thoughts exactly, so Dave, you'd do well to count them twice.
Chris, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I probably would have been delusionally optimistic that it would be fine and gone off under that assumptions. Not sure I'd have it in me to kill it, even if it were for the best.
Daron, your story (amongst many many others of yours) makes you a bad, bad person. But you already knew that.

You mean as in general? Like, if you've forgotten it, you wouldn't remember it enough to know it was forgotten? I think the answer is two-fold. If it's relevant, you'll find that there is a hole where a thought needs to be, and you'll know you forgot. If it's not, then it's of no consequence, and it doesn't matter if you forgot it or not, the end result is the same. So in essence, anything you need to know you forgot, you'll know you forgot. Handy that way, isn't it?
Say Daron, why aren't you on AIM any more these days? I miss our late night drunken discussions of debauchery and immorality.

You know Daron....I think that sometimes, but I find that if I've been able to get through most of my day without whatever it is I've forgotten, then I didn't really forget anything at all. I usually make do with what I remembered. I figure...if I forgot it and can't remember what "IT" is, then it wasn't very importanat and I shouldn't bother thinking about what I forgot!:teach:
You know....that sounds a lot like the the time when George Castanza hit the pigeon. There's an unwritten understanding between bird and man....they drive us crazy...we run after them kicking and screaming and they fly away. When they don't move....I guess it means they are ready to die. Damn crows are mean birds anyway. I do like watching the smaller birds dive bomb them when they go near a nest or do something that pisses the little birds off.:p

I considered stomping it to death. Didn't think that would be quick and painless enough. I picked up the bird, held it tight, and removed the head from the body as fast as possible. Not my finest moment. Odd that I probably wouldn't care if it was one of the birds that have annoyed me throughout the summer or one of the birds that are a dime a dozen. I guess I am biased in my ecological persona.
My guess is that the crow was wounded in some manner. Not common for a crow to just sit there and take it. Would have been embarrassing if you didn't win though.
I hate forgetting things. Because usually the only thing I remember is that I forgot something that I wanted to remember. I've driven to the Walmart, a 40 minute drive, just to arrive with no recolection of what I wanted but recalling it was something important and food related. I'd go up and down the isles hoping something would trigger my memory and not finding anything. Grrrr

I had sex once and wanted to remember her name the entire time we were going at it. The entire time I couldn't, for the life of me, remember what her name was. Needless to say I never saw her again but that didn't really matter because I wouldn't have known what to call her besides *****!!:D She was fun though....it was one of those nights when you're 19, drunk and driving around the beach with your friends in a mustang convertable. She was walking down the street and I yelled over. She came over and got in the car on my lap. Interoduced herself....in a drunk voice....and as we rove kept rubbing my weener. We both got cropped off at her house, she went in and told her roomates she'd be back in the morning. Went to my place and ...well.....I don't like to kiss and tell.......:unibrow:
It was fun but....I was young and foolish. Those days are LOOOooooonnnnnngggg gone! Wow...that was nearly 18 years ago...before Charlie was even borned!

Thanx for what you said Daron, and everyone really. I want you all to know I never lied to any of you. I did have 6x months sober. But "The Dux" is still just a man, I have weaknesses and vices. I make mistakes and can even repeat them. I consider you all my friends and love this clan very much. I take all that each of you say to heart. Thank you for caring.
I am thinking about running a Mono:symu: deck at FNM. Here is what I have come up with:
I am watching Lost for the 3rd time. Starting from the first episode. I really think this show is amazing. It has action, drama, mystry, humor ...it never disapoints.
.
.
The mono blue deck just looks like 4 of each of the playable mono blue spells in the format. I don't really see the theme, and the deck is definitely not my type. Ask someone else.
Had a good day with the boys again! Gavin is big into rock collecting now. I should bring him some of my old rocks.
Honestly Dave...MonoU does nothing for me right now. The powerlevel is really lacking. If you did a little more research I'm sure you could find that you need Mirrorweave in a deck like that. Not to mention you need something that generates tokens fairly efficiently, and there isn't much with blue that does that.
I haven't looked at Eventide at all. I have no ideas what colors to draft or what to look for in this Release tourny coming up. Any help would be benificial. I will be getting 4 of the Figure of Destiny!! It wasn't until today that I realized that card doesn't lose those abilities at EOT!
WOW!! certainly a four of!

I'm sorry, but this sounds very much like excuses here. You know the consequences of your actions, and every time you take a single swig of alcohol, you are performing an extremely selfish and detrimental act. it's no longer a fun time, it's gambling with your life.

Drinking a little or going balls to the wall drunk doesn't matter with an alcoholic. It's just as dangerous.
I can understand where you're coming from. I just don't have that much to share. I am currently unemployed, so most of my exploits are my time with Kristen, and I'd rather not bore you all with stories of teenage love.

I do like watching the smaller birds dive bomb them when they go near a nest or do something that pisses the little birds off.:p
Humpday!....realease is this weekend and I plan to go and play a flight to get the free promo. Anyone else gonna hit the release parties?
*****es!
Grrrr
Cheers,
Daggertooth
For my heart had not denied me and I have somewhere to go.

If I leave, I will return again to my Rocky Mountain home.

You've been given a second chance, don't spit on it.
I'm sorry if I am a bit late to the discussion, but I am rather disappointed that you're drinking again. You're better than that.
I'm sorry if I am one of those guilty of rarely posting. I just never have much to say, and you are a group of guys that have never required me to post everyday, unlike Colo threads or Mod work.
Just to let everyone know....I don't think Dave is "drinking again" in the sense that he goes out to drink like he used to. He had a couple of drinks......
@Yuks....but you're here now...and that is the important thing. There's nothing better then your bright shining face coming in and lighting up my day!
Post when you can....but try to get in here and post something more often than once a month....I guess I'm just being selfish because I have slow days at work and want to read the lives of other people I enjoy knowing aboot.
MEMEMEMMEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!:D
Drinking a little or going balls to the wall drunk doesn't matter with an alcoholic. It's just as dangerous.
I can understand where you're coming from. I just don't have that much to share. I am currently unemployed, so most of my exploits are my time with Kristen, and I'd rather not bore you all with stories of teenage love.
