So, I did it, I got it, I wowed the world. I actually made a thread, after having been in the Called since... when? I dunno. Joined mtgnews in '01, so it took forever. But I'm slow.
Point is, we were discussing the arbitrary process of when we come up with a new thread, and apparently 13 is shot down, 300 to 500 posts is the norm (with a nifty reference,) and that in life according to Jonny, we should competitively ***... and some PTQ reports... and some discussion of an avatar that makes us want to punch babies.
LOL!! It is one of those kinda avatars there Charlie..
Laika - Thanks for making the thread! I feel new and fresh now! I think the top of the first post could use a little editing.
Guys, I was so happy today! I got 6x packages in the mail! What better than new cards huh?? ...Well I'll tell you what: A damaged F'ing FOIL Tarmogoyf. Yeah, I opened it up and looked at it real close, as you would any single FOIL you had paid hard earned money for. It has 2x small creases in it that I know didn't happen in shipping. It waas packed quite well. Now the old Dave would have said, "Oh well.." But not this Dave. I left the mother ****er a negative. F trying to work it out, I was mad. Sure I could have complained and emailed and gone through those motions, but no, I decided not to. I am gonna keep this card and love it just the same. But that jerk got a negative feedback and I told him/her exactly why in my comment.
I am gonna go deck these new cards I got and blow off some steam. I'll post again in a few..
.
.
Laika - There is a blank dot at the beginning of or names.
I guess you may be wondering what all I got in the 6x packages. Please allow me to boast for a moment. I recieved a playset of foil 10th Wrath of Gods. They are minty fresh and I love them. I got 6x foil Devouring Lights. I now have 2x foil playsets of those. I got a foil Sakura-Tribe Elder. Which brings me to 2x foil playsets of them as well. A playset of Hallowed Fountains. Finally, my Scepter/Chant deck is complete. That and my T&N deck have every card I want in them. I opened 2x foil Sudden Spoilings. I like this card for some reason. I have 2x more foil incoming which will equal a foil playset. And finally the damaged foil Tarmogoyf. And you know, I am ok with that. I still love the thing. I've got 2x normal Tarmo's incoming and they will bring me to a playset as well.
That does it for todays mail. I can't wait to see and tell what I get tomorrow!
Sorry I blew up earlier, I had to let it out. Sure I probly could/should have reacted differently. But what's done is done and I am okay with it.
Ok, thanks votan, for the spam warning. I guess I shouldn't try to use the format of the communication to make a joke (originally the rest of the post was spaced so as not to appear unless you scrolled). I . . . wait, do you guys here that sound? That giant whoosh sound as the fun is sucked out of the forum? Some days I just hate this place. Ta for going easy on me, I guess, v. :giantpukingrolleyes:
Just once I'd like to go a year in here without getting some idiotic warning for being completely fawking awesome so that these squirrely little mens gots to use me to bolster their e-peens :/
Anyway, Official Business in the New Thread Time.
1. InfinityCubed: Still in this Clan?

3. I found this lovely picture of some random but rather attractive folk, apparently playing at a game of magical cards.
4. I have consolidated all my M:tG photochops in one spot - check 'em out, y'all, relive the good times, + the other ones too.
For a second there, it sounded like Brian was mad! Whew....
So anyway, yeah, that looks a bit like me and sammy, doesn't it? I TOLD you some random people took a photo of us, didn't I?
Where'd that pop up, MT?
EDIT: Awesome haul, Dave. You're really on a spending spree now, eh? I guess you were anticipating being way more broke and fooked than you ended up being?
MT2, "Good Gamery". It's where everyone fled to last time MT went down for over a week. Also where I posted my 'chops. They have a bunch of cool java games (like Dr. Mario @_@) for desperate timekilling. Also they've pretty much taken over MT's legacy of funny. Someone posted a link in the PTQ Vancouver thread, to an article about the Girls of the Vancouver PTQ or somesuch (which the above pic links to).
Nice one! Someone understood where I was taking that thread! And what do we do with a random *****? We flush it down the toilet....or throw it in the trash or washing machine. Either way we dispose of it to make the world a cleaner place....including yourself!:D
Nice picture of the happy couple.
Brian....I think if you are hosting a game in which the moderators are participating, then you should be able to "borderline spam" up the thing anyway you see fit! I think the contributions you've brought to this site and forum should exempt you from their reign of e-peen power hungriness.
Not this weekend but next weekend is the Philly PTQ! Gonna be a big one I think. I'm honning my deck to help me out in the later game or with a quick attack of small critters........goblins.:-/

FWIW, I'm fairly sure that Alyssa(Plenty Purple) was 18 when that picture was taken anyway.
And that bra picture is a hilarious classic.
Nice lot of cards, Dux. You appear to have a fair bit of money for someone that hasn't worked in 3 months and just spent a month in jail.
It's weird to see Brian blow up at someone..that isn't me. How refreshing. Anyway, I agree that there was no warning deserved there. But don't be too hard on votan, sometimes he just tries too hard, but he's a cool guy really.
That's part of what bothers/ed me so much - it's not as if votan + I have never interacted; quite the opposite. I'd hope that community history counted for something.

I too feel a bit sad about that warning, a little..... insulted. I'm not surprised Brian was ticked.
Just got a money order for $241 from a customer who doesn't have PayPal but wants cards. That's what I like to see! He waits until I've cashed it before making his order, and I avoid the PayPal fee, which would be around $8+. I'm glad I don't do it tooooo often, but if he wouldn't order otherwise, it's definitely a good thing!
The thread title keeps making me think of a "your mom" joke. You know..... "your mom Called...... I came."
LOL. Well, "sellit-now!" on ebay left me negtive feedback too. So I sent them an email:
"I don't understand why you gave me negative feedback. It was obviouosly because I gave you negative feedback. That is very unprofesional. I held up my end of the deal and paid you for an item. Your item discription says the item is in Mint to NM condition and it is not. The damage did not happen in shipping. That is why I left you negative feedback. Simple as that. Nothing to discuss. You did not properly represent your item. THAT IS IT. I said I'd pay for it and did, so why give me a negative? I am very unhappy with this childish behavior, it is very unprofesional. I am the one who has been wronged here, you got your money, I did not get what I paid for. Shame on you."
Get'em Dave!!

Yeah, that's really common on ebay. It's called a retaliatory negative. It's the reason why ebay ratings really aren't worth ****. Most people are afraid of rating the sellers negatively/honestly for fear of the retal. Add that on the very binary state of the ratings and you have a system that just doesn't work.

I had a guy give me a neutral rating because I didn't answer his question about when I sent fast enough. He received the card the day after he asked the question and gave me feedback the day he received. I *****ed him out and there was nothing else I could do. He didn't care though. He was a facktard.
I just let it go. after I *****ed a little. It does suck that you got a negative for doing everything right.

Reading that sellers responses to negative feedback made me die inside a little.
That having been said, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune might be the most amazing game of all time (note, I'm not saying best, hear me out,) for the fact that my girlfriend called wondering if I'd finished it since she last watched... I said no, and she wants to see the conclusion. Seriously. A videogame girls want to watch you play.
I feel like I should be talking to a guy with a handle-bar moustache who loudly proclaims "Science" and drops his monocle while he does that. It just seems like an appropriate follow up to such a technological advance as a videogame that a girlfriend wants to watch you play.
Isn't there a follow-up procedure on eBay to whackies who leave retaliatory negatives? Yuck.

I got an email back from farknuts who sent me the damaged foil Tarmo:
"Hello
Yes, and I also state that if you have a problem you should contact me. You earned the negative when you did not use communication. If I missed something then I am sorry, but you should let the seller know so that they can fix the problem. YOU DID NOT. So childish would lie in the eye of the beholder. It is unprofessional as a buyer to not use communication to work out a problem. Paying is not the only responsibility fo the buyer. That does not earn you a positive as my expierance as a "whole" was negative dealing with you.
If you buy something at the store and when you get it home and there is a problem, HOPEFULLY you do not get an attorney, file a police report, call your congressman, write letters to the better business bureau, and more, although this is an exact representation of that. What you should do is go back to the store and say, "hey, you messed up, how do you want to fix this problem".
Do you understand now?
If you would like to file for mutual withdrawal of feedback I would agree to do so. If you would like to return the item for a full refund please let me know, if you feel I should issue a partial refund and you want to keep the item then let me know.
thank you
Mark Jordan
- sellit-now!"
As I told you guys, I probly should have handled it differently. But I was mad at the moment. I am not sure what I want to do now.. I feel like he still deserves the negative feed back because he sent me a damaged item. But then I also wouldn't mind doing the mutual withdraw of feedback so that I would no longer have a negative on my account. Maybe I could ask/tell him to credit me $20 and THEN I'd file for mutual feedback withdraw. Not sure what to do here. I guess I'll think about it.

I'm thoroughly addicted to mint (spearmint in particular) and hot chocolate (which I devour by the liter, usually with fresh spearmint leaves in it.) I'm a sucker for a good love story, even moreso if it's in the middle of a great action sequence. The two things I value most are friendship and knowledge, as you could never have enough of either. I also seem to be the only person who feels deprived by having to live on a planet with only a single moon. If there are any more of you out there, tell me so I can know I'm not alone.

When you cross my mind you'd best look both ways.

Where is everyone on AIM tonight?..

Just once I'd like to go a year in here without getting some idiotic warning for being completely fawking awesome so that these squirrely little mens gots to use me to bolster their e-peens :/
Anyway, Official Business in the New Thread Time.
1. InfinityCubed: Still in this Clan?
2. Diggy: In this Clan?
3. I found this lovely picture of some random but rather attractive folk, apparently playing at a game of magical cards.
4. I have consolidated all my M:tG photochops in one spot - check 'em out, y'all, relive the good times, + the other ones too.

Ria - You have WAY to much time on your hands. I am jealous. And I saw the P_P card. I have a better pic for.. flapping at.
And here is something disturbing from my drinking days..

The fact that you're wearing a bra isn't as disturbing as knowing who's bra it is!?!

Kidding.....dude...you made me laugh. As that is the most important aspect of the post. I mearly added to the comical value of your post...only at your expense. For that I am sorry you seem diss'd....but that is the sole premiss of our clan....to rag on each other until tears are shed.
That, my dear boy, is love.:D
small eds:...I just wanted everyone to know that Richard Kane Fergusson, Mark Poole and Micheal Sutfin will be at GP Philly signing stuff. Anyone that wants something signed, let me know and send it to me. Shoot me a PM and I will get you my address.
jonnnnnnnnnny
And that bra picture is a hilarious classic.
Nice lot of cards, Dux. You appear to have a fair bit of money for someone that hasn't worked in 3 months and just spent a month in jail.
It's weird to see Brian blow up at someone..that isn't me. How refreshing. Anyway, I agree that there was no warning deserved there. But don't be too hard on votan, sometimes he just tries too hard, but he's a cool guy really.
@DUX - I picked the other photo 'cos it was all PP. Thanks for clicking the link this time!
The Grand Prix is the weekend of the 15th. The Ide's of March. I will most certainly be there on Saturday and if I do well I will return on Sunday.
lemme know and I'll keep a looks out fo dem!
I came."
Ew.

I just let it go. after I *****ed a little. It does suck that you got a negative for doing everything right.
These people are jerks!
When you cross my mind you'd best look both ways.
Charlieeeee, a pile of cards arrived today, Korlashes + Hermits + Donates, oh my! I'd forgotten how fast mail could be, when you send to someone on the same continent <-"science!"

I have to agree with this statement. Those are two members that have the least activity....sans Sedds:p:-/ I would like to see Diggy a little more active in the thread so I can a better feeling about the lad. I dig what's been said so far......not sure how I feel about promoting creationism though.........although I am willing to argue the craziness of that belief.
But I do believe we should start making that monkey DANCE!!! DANCE MONKEY DANCE!!!! hee hee .....I like dancing.
