Yeah, I know exactly what you are saying Twinks. It's a lot like arcbound ravager's time in standard. You could beat it, but the metagame still consisted of affinity and then the decks that were built to beat it.
I just posted on a topic in the casual thread about using it for a different reason though. The guy had made the old leyline/Opalescence deck, and I suggested adding 4 flash, 4 Academy rector, 4 worldly tutor and 4 mystical tutor. Seems like a cool way to ensure the super fast win.
@Stah - Nice. I think I'm going to follow your lead and do the same. I dug through my cards a bit, and found my playset of Faerie conclave. Word is, it's going to be reprinted in 10th edition. Here's to hoping for standstill.
@10th Edition:
I don't think we'll see Sea Drake in Xth. Portal cards have a poor record of seeing reprint, it's popular on the secondary market and it's omewhat out of flavour for blue to get an efficient flier.
As for SDT, with probably no Tron or other big mana around this time, it would be more likely to get reprinted, but I think counterbalance nukes it - that and the possibility of Locket combo arising in T2 (then again, we were promised combo pieces...). Plus, it's mechanically similar to the whole Scry stuff...
@Card sorting:
Whoo! I now have a box of neatly organized playsets stuffed safely into sleeves, 7 display boxes full of crappy cards I can try to sell or give away for free, and a stack of decent cards that needs to be put into a binder full of cards for trading purposes. Finally.
@Suspend Deck:
I would like to make better use of the Hazes enchanting myself, but I can't think of anything except Suspend cards. Maybe I should try Honden - both the red one and the blue one are nice. A Chronozoa or two would definitely be fun, too... :hmm:
@CharlieD:
Nice buy - Vintage gaming ftw!
I play PS games on my PS2, but I still have my SNES here with me, and I can't wait till the season for flea markets comes around again, because the cartriges are widely available there. And cheap, too...
Edit: Done with all sorting now. yay!
there's a store here that sells vintage consoles and games. They had a SNES and the original Lion King game, and they were really cheap; but I couldn't buy them. I hope they still have them.
That's awsome. I still love the Dreamcast, and I will never give up my PS games! You can't beat vintage, man!!
In other news, 3 jobs is killing me. I'm so tired, anymore... Bleh. :|
Ugg that sucks, Jaede *hugs Jaede*
I just love my PS2. I can't afford a ps3 yet, and there are tons of great rpgs on the PS2 and PS1 that I still haven't played. It just sucks that some of the great PS1 games are imposible to find.
I'm really into tabletop gaming now as well. I just started a new d20 game over the forums actually.
I never played warhammer, but I did play (and owned at) Heroclix when it first came out. If ever there was a game that I was a master of, it was this one. Between my friends and I, we won almost every tourney we entered, and I once won an entire case of them at a major tourney. (cases of heroclix cost much more then cases of magic, for reference)
And who said my countless hours at chess would never pay off.
Wow, way to bump this thread! Where is everyone? I told you no orgies without me!! J/K!
I owned and played 'Clix too. It was an awsome game, but expensive. That's awsome. All I ever won was the LE Thor that eveyone wanted at one point in time...
Wow........we are slacking off majorly in the [T]s aren't we. Unfortunately, I've had a wedding, training for a new part-time job in addition to my full-time job, plus life has decided to kick me squarely in the walnuts repeatedly.

Jaede..if there was ever to be a [T] orgy I'm sure I would be the one planning it and I know for a fact you'd have free hotel, airfare, food, jewlery, MtG cards...etc...etc...etc
Well...can't say I've done much in the way of console gaming since a lllllllloooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg time ago I used to play Dreamcast back in the day, but not a lot. I think that my console gaming days went the way of the dinosaur during the Sega Genesis days

You know, I'm pretty sure if there was ever a sex tape of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt that got leaked to the public, watching it would cure people of cancer. I'm ****ing serious. Either that or make their eyes bleed for they have seen the true face of God.

Thats kick ass Jaede. Another old 'clix player.
I pretty much stoped the game when they revised the rules and took away taxi's.
I was a specialist at wildcard teams Go go experienced ultron!
I still buy one on occasion, because I like collectables at random times, but I hardly every play. Mabey once ever 1.4 years or so. The big one I want now is the new dark phoenix they made (the Rachel Grey version), because she's been one of my favorite comic characters since childshood.
I started this JRPG on my 360 called Enchanted Arms. It's pretty fun. It has turn-based fight system, fighting with human and golem characters (golems just being various fighting machines), nice graphics (I think)...although it gets a little annoying sometimes; the game really coddles you. Every time you see something new, the people you travel with make a big point of how stupid the main character is and tell him how to operate the new thing (which is always done by pressing A).

Oooh, there was an ad for Enchanted Arms 2 in a magazine I got last year.
@Games - I've been playing Xenosaga on the PS2. Damn great RPG
@Magic - Flash is banned from legacy!!
And I'm so psyched because Replenish was unbanned! Such a comboriffic card, and I can't freaking wait to do crazy things with it. I wasn't playing during Urzas, and so I missed out on all the fun. It was up there with Dream Halls on my list of legacy dreams, and one of them finally came true!

Oh, man. I'm so glad it got unbanned. I love that card.
I'm quitting magic though. I reckon I'll still play MWS, but I just don't want to be part of the magic scene anymore. Some of those pros... I don't want to end up like them.
And, no, there is nowhere to play casual.
Well, you have power over yourself, so I doubt you'll become like those jerks if you don't want to. Still, if you want to quit, more power to you.
Just please consider this bit of advice... from an old fart who knows other old farts who are still pissed at themselves. Don't get rid of all your collection. If you have to get rid of some of it, do it, but hold onto your true favorites, because in the future, you may want to play agan (you never know), and you will be royaly screwed if all your old cards are gone.

I'm holding onto my affinity deck. And some other stuff, probably.
sorry I haven't been around as much guys. Work is hectic. How are you all doing?
In the latest news my 'not-boyfriend' decided that he didn't want to even be that much to me anymore. He started seeing his ex-fiancee again. It hurts. I've been trying to cope with it, but I hate her and love him too much. It sucks so bad
I don't think I want to know what a Maltese tart is...
Thanks guys. Right now I'm not sure if I want to get over it. Everyone hates her, and she's jealous, and I have the better end of the bargain if I just tough it out. One of his best friends took my side on Memorial Day when she tried to pout and make him tell me to leave. His best friend jumped her crap so fast, it shocked me. He said she was being childish (she was) and if I left, he was leaving, too. Then, after she left, he said he didn't want to see them back together, even though he was friends with both of them. It made me feel better. *sigh* Ain't love grand? -_-

FLOW is an amazing J-Rock band. Check them out.
Also Rhythem and Little By Little.
I bought a playstation today for five bucks.

I still have my NES, working. So the consoles I have are:
NES
XBox360
NES games are awesome, and I would like an SNES just for the sense of nostalgia and cool factor. Not that I ever had an SNES myself...

It actually looked pretty sweet.

Of course I'll stick around!
I could never leave you, you little Maltese tart. :xd: ahhahah.
@Jaede: ...actions speak louder than words, right?

There is a thread about it in SYM under special occasions. The thread is named something like "lots of staff changes" or something like that....
I don't really want to get into it here, but just want to say that we T's are going to miss you Craven.
