Hey news from the 4E front... new entry detailing our beloved Rogues.
So without any more delay i give you:
Note:You’re going to see something called “builds” in the information that follows. Builds present themes that you can use to guide you as you select powers and other abilities. You can follow the advice of a build, or you can ignore it. It’s not a constraint, but instead provides information to help you make informed choices as you create your character. Using a class build isn’t required; builds exist to help guide your decisions through the process of character creation and each time you level up.
Rogue

Rogues are cunning and elusive adversaries. Rogues slip into and out of shadows on a whim, pass anywhere across the field of battle without fear of reprisal, and appear suddenly only to drive home a lethal blade.
As a rogue, you might face others’ preconceptions regarding your motivations, but your nature is your own to mold. You could be an agent fresh from the deposed king’s shattered intelligence network, an accused criminal on the lam seeking to clear your name, a wiry performer whose goals transcend the theatrical stage, a kid trying to turn around your hard-luck story, or a daredevil thrill-seeker who can’t get enough of the adrenaline rush of conflict. Or perhaps you are merely in it for the gold, after all.
With a blade up your sleeve and a concealing cloak across your shoulders, you stride forth, eyes alight with anticipation. What worldly wonders and rewards are yours for the taking?
Characteristics: Combat advantage provides the full benefit of your powers, and a combination of skills and powers helps you gain and keep that advantage over your foes. You are a master of skills, from Stealth and Thievery to Bluff and Acrobatics. Religion: Rogues prefer deities of the night, luck, freedom, and adventure, such as Sehanine and Avandra. Evil and chaotic evil rogues often favor Lolth or Zehir. Races: Those with a love for secrets exchanged in shadows and change for its own sake make ideal rogues, including elves, tieflings, and halflings.
Creating a Rogue
The trickster rogue and the brawny rogue are the two rogue builds, one relying on bluffs and feints, the other on brute strength. Dexterity, Charisma, and Strength are the rogue’s most important ability scores. Brawny Rogue
You like powers that deal plenty of damage, aided by your Strength, and also stun, immobilize, knock down, or push your foes. Your attacks use Dexterity, so keep that your highest ability score. Strength should be a close second—it increases your damage directly, and it can determine other effects of your attacks. Charisma is a good third ability score, particularly if you want to dabble in powers from the other rogue build. Select the brutal scoundrel rogue tactic, and look for powers that pack a lot of damage into every punch.
Trickster Rogue
You like powers that deceive and misdirect your foes. You dart in and out of the fray in combat, dodging your enemies’ attacks or redirecting them to other foes. Most of your attack powers rely on Dexterity, so that should be your best ability score. Charisma is important for a few attacks, for Charisma-based skills you sometimes use in place of attacks, and for other effects that depend on successful attacks, so make Charisma your second-best score. Strength is useful if you want to choose powers intended for the other rogue build. Select the artful dodger rogue tactic. Look for powers that take advantage of your high Charisma score, as well as those that add to your trickster nature.
All rogues share these class features. First Strike
At the start of an encounter, you have combat advantage against any creatures that have not yet acted in that encounter. Rogue Tactics
Rogues operate in a variety of ways. Some rogues use their natural charm and cunning trickery to deceive foes. Others rely on brute strength to overcome their enemies.
Choose one of the following options.
Artful Dodger: You gain a bonus to AC equal to your Charisma modifier against opportunity attacks. Brutal Scoundrel: You gain a bonus to Sneak Attack damage equal to your Strength modifier.
The choice you make also provides bonuses to certain rogue powers. Individual powers detail the effects (if any) your Rogue Tactics selection has on them. Rogue Weapon Talent
When you wield a shuriken, your weapon damage die increases by one size. When you wield a dagger, you gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls. Sneak Attack
Once per round, when you have combat advantage against an enemy and are using a light blade, a crossbow, or a sling, your attacks against that enemy deal extra damage. As you advance in level, your extra damage increases. LevelSneak Attack Damage 1st–10th +2d6 11th–20th +3d6 21st–30th +5d6
Note:Your powers are daring exploits that draw on your personal cunning, agility, and expertise. Some powers reward a high Charisma and are well suited for the trickster rogue, and others reward a high Strength and appeal to the brawny rogue, but you are free to choose any power you like.
Rogue Attack 1 A final lunge brings you into an advantageous position.

Encounter ✦ Martial Move Action Personal Prerequisite: You must be trained in Acrobatics.
Effect: You can shift a number of squares equal to one-half your speed.
Rogue Attack 9 You deal your enemy a vicious wound that continues to bleed, and like a shark, you circle in for the kill.
Daily ✦ Martial, Weapon Standard Action Melee weapon Requirement: You must be wielding a light blade. Target: One creature Attack: Dexterity vs. Fortitude
Hit: 2[W] + Dexterity modifier damage, and the target takes ongoing damage equal to 5 + your Strength modifier and grants combat advantage to you (save ends both). Miss: Half damage, and no ongoing damage.

Call me old fashioned, but an evil ascension to power just isn't the same without someone chanting faux Latin in the background.
Oreo, Glazing people better than Dunkin' Donuts since 2009
That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
I read about a third of the way down and then got a bad taste in my mouth as soon as I saw that they're restricting classes by singular weapon proficiencies again. Ewwww.
@BigTime-No, Absolutely no Damnations lol. Damnation+Aggro=Negative Synergy.
@I.S.-I already went to Amazion, and am going to wait on buying Star Wars movies, thanks though. I need to save up some money because fishing season is coming up.
Well then......it would seem I just got up....at 1:30 a.m. here.:-/
Hello everyone just wanted to drop by and say goodnight. I am also more then half way through devil may cry 4 but I am going to try to go back and finish the game on devil hunter mode as well after I beat the game on normal should be fun. Also have a good weekend everyone and see you all later.
Today I decided to fire up roughly the same Gargadon deck I ran in the last tournament here and play a few games on MWS. Then, hilarity ensued. I tried to take a screenshot, but apparently it didn't take, and there was nothing in the clipboard when I tried to copy it. :(:(
What happened: He's playing U/G/B control with Goyf. I had out a first turn Gargadon (suspended), he played a turn three goyf. My turn, I Threatened it, smacked him with it, sacrificed it. His next turn, he roughly taps out to attack me with his Faerie conclave. He is at 16. My next turn, I float three mana, sacrifice my four lands to bring in Gargadon, play Fatal Frenzy (now 18/7), and swing. He has one forest untapped and no creatures. GG - for me. I was not anticipating Slaughter Pact. ROFL. That was a fun game.
So today... groceries... laundry... AotW... and other stuff. It's currently 8:00pm. Hrmm. Guess I should go get groceries first, before the store closes at 10:00pm.
I just recently made a D&D race. I couldn't figure out a place to post my new race in the "Pen & Paper Inn" since their was areas where I could but it would not actually belong in that area. I showed this race idea to others at my RPGA and they commented it to be "Balanced" seeing as this is how I crafted it:
D&D Race: Ethero (E-th-ero)
Etheros average 5'5 feet tall and typically weigh just over 95 pounds. They live on fruits and fresh meat. Etheros wings usually on the kind of terrain they live in, like if one were to live in the mountains, its wings would gradually overtime take a brownish color. Their skin tends to be usually light, but their skin can also tend to be a darker color as well. Hair can be red, grey, white, brown. Although they posses bird like wings, they look very much like a normal human. Humanoid (Ethero)
Medium: As medium creatures, ehteros have a base land speed of 10ft due to their large wings.
Base land speed 10ft, fly 20ft (good)
Low-Light Vision: A ethero can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
Fly (Su)
Weapon Proficiency: Etheros receive the Marital Weapon Proficiency feats for the longsword, halberd, quarterstaff, and longbow (including composite longbow) as bonus feats.
+3 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks.
Automatic Languages: Common and Auran. Bonus Languages: Draconic, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, and Sylvan
Favored Class: Monk. A multiclass ethero's monk class does not count when determining whether she takes an experinece point penalty for multiclassing
Level Adjustment: +0
Adulthood: 40 years
Simple: +2d4
Moderate: +4d6
Complex: +6d8
Middle Age: 120
Old: 150
Venerable: 190
Maximum Age: +4d%
At middle age, -1 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha.
At old age, -2 to Str, Dex, and Con; +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha.
At venerable age, -3 to Str, Dex, and Con; +2 to Int, Wis, And Cha.
Gender
Male: 5'8" base height, +2d6 height modifier, 105 lb base weight, x(1d6) lb weight modifier.
Female: 5'5" base height, +2d6 height modifier, 95 lb base weight, x(1d6) lb weight modifier.
Generally speaking, in most cases the ability to fly grants an automatic +2 level adjustment.
I really don't think this fits this race, though, probably because their land speed is absolutely terrible. Why is their fly listed as a (Su) ability if they have natural wings? Do they require magical help to fly?
Also, it's only 20ft. You should add in maneuverability, though with Medium creatures, it's generally average, though exceptions to this exist.
---------------------------------------------
2-2 last night at FNM, faced, in this order: a really new player's Elf deck (2-0), Mono Black Rogues (0-2, I hate Stinkdrinker Bandit with a PASSION, and I think my Wraths flew out of my deck for that match), Doran (2-1, went to time and last five turns, he finally called the bluff I'd been sitting on for five turns- Profane for 7, and I had an Adarkar Wastes in hand) and Treefolk Tribal (2-1, Sower of Temptation is the champ here).
I have discovered these things:
1. Crovax is too slow against weenies.
2. Ajani Goldmane is amazing against aggro. Especially when I use Vesuvan Shapeshifter to copy the Avatar token.
3. Remove Soul is probably superior to Rune Snag, at least in my aggrocentric shop.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Morning kids, much to do today. Post office to drop off and pick up stuff, vacuum up a cereal mess because for some reason Grape-Nuts Flakes is packaged in bags which don't seal up at the bottom (this has happened twice now) and cereal pours out the bottom of the bag/box and onto the floor.

what part of mrstuff LOSING didnt you understand
anyways im off to work, time to put up ith 5/6 year old little skiers crybabies
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
I am eating breakfast, and watching a movie, an the door bell rings.
Im like WTF? Because my Grandpa and Grandma just left and wont be back til' later tonight. So I get up and go answer the door, and its two people from a local church nearby.
They pretty much told me that:
1) Im am a sinner.
2) Im going to Hell because Im a sinner.
3) I need to be saved, so Im not a sinner, and wont go to Hell.
and all the while they were wanting my life story, and its cold as Sh** out, and Im standing in a T-Shirt and Shorts.

1. Answer the door with a copy of, say, the Fiend Folio or the Book of Vile Darkness in hand.
2. Have friends ask about demonic bargains, of course talking about D&D but who are they to know.
3. Put a chalk figure of a person outside your door with a few of their tracts near it, scattered.
4. Tell them you're an atheist, even if it isn't true.
5. Tell them you don't believe in their version of Hell. (I did this. It works.)
AoK, your Evil knows no bounds.:D
I was just caught off guard by the whole thing, I didnt know what to do, I almost just shut the door and locked it, but im too nice of a guy.So I just let them do their thing and I got a nice little booklet, that is going into the closet to be lost forever.:D
And the movie I was watching was Little Nicky so it kind of scared me.

But, having actually done this before, I promise you, you get no better reaction than when they see you holding a certain book titled Necronomicon in your hands...

I picked up two Nimbus Mazes last night, so now I have three. (I feel bad about that trade. Seriously. I had to give him extra cards. He was screwing himself. :()
Venser...yeah, he should probably be in there, just because he's a good idea.
Is cutting Pact a good idea? That card has pulled me out of sure death...I mean, early game it's worse than dead, but late game it comes from nowhere.
I use Needle in the board against planeswalkers and Treetop Village. I got sick of losing to a land

You said your meta is mostly aggro, correct?
Counter Magic isnt very good against aggro. In a more control type meta, I would keep in the Pacts, but in a meta that is aggro Pact isnt all that great, but if you like, 1 wouldnt hurt:), probably take out a Shapeshifter in its place.
Venser is very good at gaining tempo and 2-1's sometimes, I will put him in every deck I build with blue until he leaves Standard, hes that good.
As for your sideboard,Aven Riftwatcher is something aggro decks hate to see, the tempo gained off of him is stupid, Red decks especially hate it.
Faerie Trickery is good against Control, Mannequin, and the new combo deck.
I absolutely hate seeing Treetop Village:mad: also, its very annoying as are Planeswalkers, so Pithing Needle is a good choice here.
In place of a Nimbus Maze just put in another Charge land.

In other news, its warming up so fast, the snow on the trees outside is melting so fast it seems like its raining:D...Spring time is coming!!!:D:D:D!!!
New thread topic: Nostalgic gaming. My Sophomore advisor found a game boy emulator online that didn't require you to track through 5 different porn sites, as well as roms for most GBC and GBA games. We are all sticking to the law here (You ARE allowed to have an emulator and roms for games you already own, I've checked the books on that.) but there's tons of games there. Not naming any sites, because I'm toeing the line as it is.
Now, I'm about to download roller coaster Tycoon onto my laptop...talk about a blast from the past!

@I.S.-I already went to Amazion, and am going to wait on buying Star Wars movies, thanks though. I need to save up some money because fishing season is coming up.
Well then......it would seem I just got up....at 1:30 a.m. here.:-/
Love,
Cecilia
@ Mr. Stuff: Gargadon... FTW!
-Life Weaver
I really don't think this fits this race, though, probably because their land speed is absolutely terrible. Why is their fly listed as a (Su) ability if they have natural wings? Do they require magical help to fly?
Also, it's only 20ft. You should add in maneuverability, though with Medium creatures, it's generally average, though exceptions to this exist.

This is one wierd way to start off a Saturday.:-/

Don't forget to start talking about Cthulhu, then

Here, What do you think of the changes?:D

-Edit-
This is my 300th post in this thread >.<
I need something better to do.
