Wow, I had to get off the internet for a while because we just had a bad storm come through.......and we still have a Tornado Watch...O Im having fun:-/.
Mr. Stuff, thanks for all the pictures and updates about your new place. I'm excited for you, honestly. It's intriguing even seeing images of everyday Japan.
Tanthalas! Hi! I miss you!
I have a little funny story about today. This afternoon at work, I was taking the order of a family, two parents with two small boys. In the middle of this, one of the kids started pointing at me and saying, "Mommy, look! He's got a girl's hair-toy thingie." I knew he was referring to the barrettes I typically wear, one of which was visible from under my hat. His parents try to shut him up, but he continues with, "Mommy look, I think he's a girl!"
Ah, out of the mouths of babes.
I'm sure his parents told him he was rude, and my coworkers seemed to think of it as an embarrassing moment, but I couldn't help but get a big kick out of it. I just grinned at the kid as he was carrying on, and thought later that I should have given him something free.
On another note, how is everyone enjoying 2008 so far?

I have missed alot as well mamelon oh well. My 2008 has been going good so far and I am just enjoying my 4 days off in a row from work. Its definitely good to see you post again though mamelon.
I am probably going to lay back on being in the top 2 for the most posts in the coffeehouse threads but ill still post just about everyday anyway.
Anyway I am going to take a shower then probably play some video games or something.
Have a good night and talk to you all tommorrow sometime.
i keep trying to dl the driver for the guitar hero xbox controller, but all it says is installation cant be completed then shows me right back to teh start, without any reason given. Help?
Well first I'll just give you my standard suggestions (which, in all likelihood won't do anything):
First try rebooting your computer (if you haven't already) and redowloading the driver (making sure to delete whatever you had on there before) and then trying to install it again.
If that doesn't work, see if you can get the driver from a different source. It may be that there's actually something wrong with the version of the software you're trying to download. Alternatively, if it's trying to access the internet when you're installing it, the installation software could be running into a firewall (either on your computer or on your network) that's stopping it from installing properly. The same thing could be happening if you have an active anti-virus program that recognizes the software (rightly or wrongly) as malicious and subsequently stops it from installing.
That's about all I can help with at the moment, partially because I don't have much information to go on, and partially (more importantly), because I don't actually know all that much about this stuff (yet...I'm working on it :p).
In my campaign, Alacar is getting an invitation that I cannot descriobe due to PG-13 requirements and a desire NOT to go into that.
Wow, never thought THAT would happen....
Part of me really wants to know what said invitation is, and a lot of me is just disturbed by the entire idea of the thing. That said, this could be interesting to watch the PG-13 version of.
So, I've been going through and playing FF12 on my break from college. I'm getting to the hard part now, going into the Feywood. Any Suggestions?
Stay there for like 3 hours killing malboros.... easiest way to level up.... also make sure you got esuna and cure spells in someones gambit coz youll need them often... enjoy the perv feeling the viera village gives you and make sure to ramp up on license points.
Also penelo makes a great black mage if you develop her that way.... downsize is that she is relatively weak regardless of the license board so you will have to spend a lot of points in the HP bonus grids or in the heavy armor grids.
I got a new DS!!!! now i just need an R4 and a micro sd card

Yeah, unless you have a firewall or anti-virus software that could be screwing around with the installation, I think we've probably hit the limit of my knowledge on this subject.
Just thought of another possibility: did you make sure it's compatible with your version of windows? Given that you're running XP I find it hard to believe it wouldn't be, but it's always a possibility.
Also, I'm heading to sleep in a few minutes, so I don't really have time to get into a detailed conversation on this topic. If you're still having issues tomorrow we may be able talk over some sort of chat and see if we can figure out what's going on.

I would highly recommend stealing items from enemies in the feywood or anywhere that has expensive items to steal if you haven't done any of the hunts. Then you can use that gil from the stolen items to buy the best armor and weapons you can get at that time. I would also highly suggest having at least level 45 for at least three of your characters. Also obtain the most powerful healing magicks you can get right now. Also buying a ton of hi-potions, phoenix downs, and all of the items that you can buy to heal your status ailments helps alot as well since you can conserve your magic points when you really need to use your healing magic spells. However if you ever want to get through giruvegan i would also recommend being on level 54-60 you can gain alot of experience fighting in giruvegan once you get there. I actually stopped using all gambits after Garamsythe waterway and just use all of the combat commands manually.

Grind for about fifteen levels. Get bubble, if you have a chance. Spells are you friends. Buff up constantly. Grind more, to get stuff to sell to pay for the top armor. Gambit anything that buffs you, and screw anything else. You can cast spells manually, and the computer sucks at casting spells. And don't forget to save.
BigTime the only thing you need is bubble+decoy and someone who has curaja... thats the best and easiest way to win.... then the target of your bubble should have max HP boost as well as the best armor....
penelo and the so called "main man" are excellent at black magic while Fran specializes in white and the wanna be amazon princess excels in buff magic.... basch is to cool for magic though it doesnt hurt to have some... my party was always vaan fran and the princess who i always forget the name simple because they have the best possible equipment (swords+shield is the best way to play and they are natural adepts while fran has a killer bow aptitude)

Your best gambits are to set your mage to hit the enemy with its elemental weakness, if you have them. If you have the skills that reduce MP cost, the skill that gains you MP when you damage with a spell, and a Sage's Ring, it is entirely possible that you can break even or even GAIN MP for spamming your most powerful spells.
My party recommendation is Basch, using a large 2H weapon (Zodiac Spear if you braved the place where it is), Vaan with a Deathbringer (ridiculously easy to get a lot of) and shield, and Penelo/Ashe using a mace or rod loaded with magic. Ensure that you have all your Quickenings because if you have all your level 3s you can kill pretty much anything with Black Hole.
Decoy is marginally useful, but Bubble is virtually necessary to live through most boss fights, especially the Hunt monsters towards the end.
Summons are largely useless, IMO, except if you use the trick that allows you to drain their MP. Or Zodiark.
Don't buy weapons, make them. Go hunt down a few of the rare monsters for materials, sell them, and get the good stuff. The best sword for most of the game is the aforementioned Deathbringer, which can be gotten from the rare monster Ithuno in the Barheim Passage (I think; it has a few of those singing toads and Adamantoises next to it). Ithuno is a Mimic-type monster located near a a few crates and another treasure chest. He shows up roughly 20% of the time. You have to steal it from him. Use the thief's gauntlets, then beat him down with a Quickening if your HP gets low. This sword has an attack power of 90 and an instant death effect. Useful, no?
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

No, in all seriousness, it's a big thing, and it doesn't really hit you until it's over with. At least, for me, it didn't. My advice is to start looking for jobs in your field soon, if you feel you're ready (and if you haven't already). If you wait until you graduate, your transition between doing something, doing nothing, and then doing something again will take longer. I lived the "nothing" part for a year and a half because I was reluctant to look for jobs.
Also, don't stress about it too much, if at all possible. You'll find something you like, even if it takes a while. If you feel you need to concentrate your energies just on graduating, then do that.
Mr. Stuff, thanks for all the pictures and updates about your new place. I'm excited for you, honestly. It's intriguing even seeing images of everyday Japan.

Good to hear from you again. Sounds adorable, the moment you had there.
Regarding the pictures - you're welcome, and there will certainly be more coming in a few days. I'm waiting until the weekend for most things, you see. You wouldn't believe how busy I've been over the last few days. Teaching takes a lot of energy out of you. Most students come to your class bored, and you have to be more energetic than your students for a successful class, obviously. You have to let your energy and vitality inspire them, and get them to have fun. I've only had one student who out-energized me so far, and she was just mind-blowing as far as knowing what specific things she wanted to learn and what she wanted to talk about. I have her for an hour lesson again tomorrow, and I need to do some research for that class either tonight or in the morning.
As for enjoying 2008, by the powers, I can hardly believe this is me writing this. After working in a job which I hated for so long, it's unbelievably refreshing to have one that I enjoy. Today's lessons went wonderfully, absolutely wonderfully for the most part, and I'm looking forward to having my first repeat lesson (ie, 2nd lesson with the same class) tomorrow. I know I'm just gushing, as it were, but that's how excited I am about this new job. It takes nearly all my time, but it is incredibly rewarding.
I reaaaaaaally need to blog again, so as to update everyone on how things are going with my apartment, the school and all the students there. I'll probably have to save that for the weekend, though, for the reasons I stated earlier. I'm having enough trouble just finding time to prepare ideas and exercises for my next few lessons, and to perform basic survival functions like showering and eating, let alone talking on the internet. I have enough laundry left that I won't be doing that until the weekend either. So many lessons, so little time - that's to become my new credo, and I both dread and look forward to it.
