It's nice to be missed. You might see Ether around sometime again once the computer situation improves. As for Photon, I'm sorry to say you probably won't see him here anytime soon.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
We don't seem to have one "subject" anymore, really. We just pop in and talk about our personal lives or the decks that we're building, like one giant communal blog. It's not bad, it's just... different. There are times we have a dialogue, but they don't seem to last very long.
So - should we have a dialogue? If so, what about?
I'll start one, since I'm visiting this place tomorrow. What is the best museum you've ever been to? Why? Describe it. What did you do there?
FNM was horrible. 2HG, and I played poorly. There were seriously no cards that worked well with each other, and my partner insisted on playing something completly opposite of my synergy. I went R/B elemental shaman thingy, with Pyroclast Counsel, Festercreeps, and Lightning Crafter and some others, while he went Kithkin. Such a bad idea.
Worst thing ever, having your creatures accidentally kill all your partners creatures, then have Liliana Vess go off, Kithkin swarm FTW.
In other news, I got my Elemental Soulstoke deck up and running. It's great!

What is the best museum you've ever been to?
I think the best museum I have ever been to is this dinosauar prehistoric museum here in las vegas. I used to visit the museum just about every weekend it was great. Unfortunetly it closed down about 10 some years ago.
It wasn't really that big though but it was such a cool place mainly because of how the museum was set up and the way the place was built. I don't really remember the museum other then that though.
What did you do there?
Go around and see all of the dinosaur skeletons and fossils.
well anyway I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I am probably going to get lunch here in a bit and probably get ready for another 8 hour night shift again... Have a good rest of the weekend everyone. See you all later.
oh well, even though i dont use correct english grammer on the internet, i can show you guys samples of my writing....its definitely not the same quality rofl
Honestly, I think the dynamic of the CoffeeHouse is such that every once in a while we just have those shifts in dynamic that everyone notices more than me
I just tend to go with the flow especially if everyone's talking TO each other.... and everyone seems to be, especially the ones who still play Magic, who talk endlessly about such and such deck against such and such deck... to be honest though a lot of the time, I haven't the foggiest idea what the hell you guys are talking about lol.. Which might be true for others too lol.
Lessee... favorite museum.. Not sure on that one, but I definitely want to go back to the Smithsonian and browse that a bit more... however, I do remember the Children's Museum when i was a kid.. i always loved the dentist's chair section from the 1800s or wahtever.. it was cool! Then you could play with stuff from way back in time, pretending like u were in that time period.. there was a museum in Oregon called the High Falls Desert Museum and it had stuff like that, not exactly, but somewhat cuz you could wander about in town scenes and it was almost like you were there... some were pretty creepy tho, same thing with the Wax Museum I went to years ago... creeped me the freak out!
In other news, I actually just woke up... bout half an hour ago or something... its 6:30 now, slept for about fifteen hours. i've been going to bed really late this past week and stayed up until 3:30am last night, so yeah, I needed to catch up on the sleep..... I woke up automatically about 7am, then i was omg **** it... then woke up again very groggily at like noon, then again at 2, then 6
I know i need to get my Music Entrepreneurship article done, i need to do that today or tomorrow, soooo yeah. And I desperately need to go shopping cuz i'm out of bread, out of bananas, almost out of milk, and just have a whole lotta pasta I just had my last 2 pieces of bread for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but now that just need to go to the store all that much MORE I'll probably make the pasta in a couple hours cuz i am still starving.. I didn't have much for dinner last night except for a bunch of Ritz crackers and peanut butter so yeah I"m hungry
I'm going to take a shower I think, though and then either turn on a movie or work on my Music Entrepreneurship article.. Not sure yet... I also want to read the paper and talk online and stuff.. I'll probably do that after I finish my shower... which, I don't know
Anyway I hope everyone's doing well... Its spring break week for RIT here, and my roommate just left for a week... it feels a little strange, even though I barely saw him, its like, now I know he's not here and stuff, its just kind of odd I guess
I'd say my favourite Museum is The National Gallery. I love art and art museum's and I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that tops The National Gallery.

I'm working on it!
Right now I think I'm about at the point where I have to open autocard windows to figure out what half the cards do for the standard decks, and about 20-30% of the cards for the older decks. Also, I don't know anything about the decks by the names, but if I star reading through the lists I can usually figure it out.
As a result, I rarely bother to actually shift through the stuff because it just doesn't interest me that much anymore.
Lessee... favorite museum.. Not sure on that one, but I definitely want to go back to the Smithsonian and browse that a bit more... however, I do remember the Children's Museum when i was a kid.. i always loved the dentist's chair section from the 1800s or wahtever.. it was cool! Well, I'm not a big fan of museums and galleries and such, so just because of the architecture and the feel of them, I either have to go with the Musée d'Orsay or the Louvre. Old converted train station with giant ceilings or old palace that Napoleon took over which now has a giant glass pyramid in the middle? Honestly, I'm not sure.
Also, way to go me, (completely coincidentally) picking two museums in Paris.
In other news, I actually just woke up... bout half an hour ago or something... its 6:30 now, slept for about fifteen hours. i've been going to bed really late this past week and stayed up until 3:30am last night, so yeah, I needed to catch up on the sleep..... Wow, no offense, but that seems like a terrible sleeping schedule. Last I checked, society wasn't particularly kind to nocturnal people who are trying to lead (relatively) normal lives at the same time.
Well, I guess you're sleeping a lot. I suppose that's better than not sleeping at all.
Anyway I hope everyone's doing well... Its spring break week for RIT here, and my roommate just left for a week... it feels a little strange, even though I barely saw him, its like, now I know he's not here and stuff, its just kind of odd I guess
I have a lot of stuff to get done and less time to do it than I used to, which is the main reason I haven't been around here much lately (and likely won't be around too much in the near future). I'm trying to pop in as often as I can, but that may only be a couple days during the week (and weekends) for a while.
i digress, i get ignored by everyone in here except a select few
cries in corner
Hey, I listen to you. I just don't respond that much because I'm not posting here at all. And don't feel bad, I'm sure nobody's trying to ignore you (except those little green men who are taking over the world :sneaky:).
*Krashbot gives AoK a hug.*
That flatly sucks. It's almost like the gods of pairing were against you the entire time, except for when the gods of drawing did that job for you.
On a completely unrelated note, does anyone here know about robocode? It's an open-source Java-based programming game designed to basically let you teach yourself Java and AI. If you don't know anything about one or both of them, it'd probably a decent place to start (I'm starting from nothing on the AI, but I have a little Java), and if you know something about both, it's still fun.
I get this odd feeling I'm going to be spending way too much time playing around with it in the near future.
Ouch... my typical few days between posts and it's mostly pain not pleasure around here.
AoK: Feel better, mmkay? Those were some disgusting matchups for ya and it didn't help your deck was better but there's always next time, should you feel like it.
Museums: I haven't been to many of my life but out of all of them (and that includes MoMA) I think the one I like the most is the Canadian Museum of Nature. The subject itself just fascinates me and at the time (which is all I can really gauge these things on) it was definitely kept me interested.
As for me, I've been helping a bit (well trying anyway) with de-varnishing a floor in another apartment close to me and other such associated stuff. It's an incredibly difficult job because of the circumstances. You see, there was carpet on the floor for the longest time in that apartment (really all of them in this complex) and the landlord didn't even know there was hardwood flooring underneath. Since she has to live here in the winter thanks to an accident she thought tearing out the carpet in that apartment would be a good idea since the carpet itself was getting pretty stanky from the previous tenants (lots of dog pee). Anyway, when she tore it up she found it wasn't just varnished with the normal coats but a solid six coats if not more... It's been difficult too because the varnish is so old so it just wants to stick there. It takes power sanders just to remove it - and that's after applying the solvent. I haven't done much of it but still... I know how hard it is.
I just tend to go with the flow especially if everyone's talking TO each other.... and everyone seems to be
I'm actually going to disagree with you on that one. For the most part, lately I think the majority of people have been talking AT each other. We've been just popping by, "hey, my day was such and such and I played this cool game and gosh I'm really hungry so I'll be back later. By the way, how are you guys? Well, bye." Just as an example (but this has been going on much prior to now), when I tried a new topic earlier, the subject was completely ignored in the next two posts. I'm not trying to make accusations or trying to bring guilt, but rather just saying that that's what we're doing lately. When someone mentions something that's happened, we generally post one-line reactions to it ("Oh, sorry to hear that" or "that's really cool") but seldom ask for more information. A dialogue would be more along the lines of what is occurring now with the Magic/D&D players in the house, asking each other questions or giving suggestions about one topic, but when was the last time we did that for something else? In-depth is the key, I guess... but it feels like nobody has time for in-depth any more.
Museums: I haven't been to many of my life but out of all of them (and that includes MoMA) I think the one I like the most is the Canadian Museum of Nature. The subject itself just fascinates me and at the time (which is all I can really gauge these things on) it was definitely kept me interested.
This one sounds really interesting. I love nature and wildlife museums, having grown up on what used to be a farm. What do they have there that makes it good? Could you describe it in more detail? I'm curious why you picked it over MoMA.
As for me, the best museum I've ever visited is COSI, the Columbus Ohio museum of Science and Industry. The interactivity is what got me. There are hundreds upon hundreds of exhibits, constantly changing, and most of them have handles, buttons, levers, or some other form of interactivity. It's like one giant science playground for kids, and adults can enjoy it too. For starters, the first thing you see outside is a high-wire bike counterweighted so that it CANNNOT fall - thus making it safe for anyone to ride. Given that it's COSI, anyone can - just ask - and there's often a line to do it. Inside, they have a sound chamber above the main entranceway that lets you talk to a person across the room, a gigantic pendulum drawing designs in sand, and a miniature hot-air balloon powered by hair dryers, which you can raise or lower with buttons. That's all just in the front entranceway. Inside are hundreds more similar displays, a planetarium, one of those wrap-around-screen theaters, whatever the monthly featured attraction is (one month, for instance, was caves), and much more. I'd love to go back there some time if I got the chance.

Yikes, sounds like a job that would take forever. I'm sure it'll look nice once you guys get it done though. I'm a huge fan of hardwood floors, and I had one in my room at home back in States. It's something about the beauty in the grain and colors of natural wood, I guess. Good luck with the project.

Art is one of those subjects I consider too subject to be truely "debatable." Never liked it that much. Don't get me wrong - Conversions about art can be interesting. It's just they lack that certain something you don't get with science conversations.
Avatar of Kokusho, or AoK as she is called pretty much everywhere on Salvation, has a real name, yes! Her name is Jennifer, but call her that and you risk a Ride of the Valkyries. She prefers Jen or AoK, if you don't want her to smite you with a twinned intensified Frost Scorching Ray.
She came to MTGSalvation as a herald of doom. Or more accurately a herald of boredom. Coming here with that in mind, she became more active in Legacy and then suddenly became an overnight success, winning an FCC with record accuracy (her round opponents didn't show and she almost defaultly won the final round), and finally winning a Mod spot, then an Admin spot.
She still likes doing what she does--she's not all wizards and fireballs.
Born on August 15th, 1979 (she says that's old, for some reason), born and raised in California, she struck it out on her own at fourteen and actually does have some respect for her fellow citizen of the Prime Material Plane. She just has little patience for ignorance and stupidity. A mother of three, she often spends her time being geeky at heart. Reading books, playing games, most especially D&D both offline and online, in the Pen & Paper Inn.
AoK has almost single-handedly swung the entire Pen & Paper Inn to life after Photon Eater left, with her long-awaited Godslayer War, which has become the single largest game in the P&PI (and dare I say it the entire Colo among the current games), and has become a valuable resource to starting the other games that have revived the WP into what I consider the most popular and largest World Project in ages.
Regarding Magic, AoK is a level 1 DCI Judge, and has been playing for a good while now. Her specialty is Legacy still, but she likes most formats. Her favorite color? Black, obviously. She has waged a campaign against monoblue tricksyness for ages, with her catchphrase 'Ban the Island' being etched into MTGS for a while. Her favorite card? The Legacy powerhouse hoser Haunting Echoes. Her favorite deck? A Yosei, the Morning Star lockdown deck.
And now, some shoutouts to people she enjoys on MTGSalvation:
Quote from Avatar of Kokusho »
{mikeyG}, because he's generally cool; Alacar, because he backs me up in the P&PI and stuff, M_E and Kraj because they're both cool co-mods in CC&Games, Yuan-ti who holds down Legacy remarkably well, Psiblast tends to make me laugh and is great help with decks; Krashbot is a tech whiz and great to talk to; everyone else in my Godslayer campaign; and anyone who I've forgotten should forgive me; I'm tired.
Art is one of those subjects I consider too subject to be truely "debatable." Never liked it that much. Don't get me wrong - Conversions about art can be interesting. It's just they lack that certain something you don't get with science conversations.
I wasn't asking just to have something to talk about, I was asking because I was genuinely interested. I was just wondering what they had at the nature museum that made it so cool. Sorry... I wouldn't have asked about museums in the first place if I wasn't interested in them.
To Jen, I say "well done" for both becoming a regular and contributing heartily to the Magic/D&D conversation around here. Your favorite deck and favorite card are both black, eh? Never would have guessed.^_^ I've heard Dragonforce some, but not much Evanescence. I'll have to try it and see if I like it or not.
I like the featured member OTM article! I think that's really cool and new for the coffeehouse. That is unless this is something the coffeehouse used to do, and I am just too new for it...
Anyhoo, I am sad to say that this next week will see very little of me online at all. It's show week, and although I am excited, I will miss the coffeehouse. I'll be around, but don't expect a whole lot.
Also FLCL, I don't ignore you. You make me laugh! Don't be all sad and stuff!

I have a lot of stuff to get done and less time to do it than I used to, which is the main reason I haven't been around here much lately (and likely won't be around too much in the near future). I'm trying to pop in as often as I can, but that may only be a couple days during the week (and weekends) for a while.

I don't care if I was framed for murder if I only got a warning I would let it go.
Sorry you lost, Jen.. though that pack looks smexy! I wanna play with Reveillark and Saffi sooooo badly
Speaking of which, Featured Regular to be posted soon.

Don't worry Jen--we forgive you!
