I will have to say that if it is a very hot day...then a nice cold Red Stripe or Anchor Steam will suffice. On a cold like these have been lately...I prefer the crispity crunchiness of a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale Barley Wine!......yuuuummmie!

Beer eh? None for me, thanx. Thank God I haven't even had a craving for any. I simply don't want it.
My court date is Tue. and I am very concerned. It'll suck to have to go to jail when I have already gotten sober and improved myself so much.. I have done all I can to make the best of the situation. It is all in God's hands now.

If you want to get on my best side, Delerium Tremens is the way to go, however I do love Newcastle, Dead Guy Ale (no wiki for that one,) or any good altbier or cask ale. I like a lot of beer, actually. Just not most of the standard fare, those make me go all Incredible Hulk, but not the crappy movie, which also coincidentally/ironically made me go all Incredible Hulk.

Have a good weekend guys! Moving in a few hours, should take all day to get my stuff and Curt's stuff moved into the new place from here and from his mom's. Not sure when the ISP will be in to install, but I work Saturday and Sunday so I'll be able to check in from work.
Busy time for my business to be away for a few days, ugh. Oh well, it'll live.
Thanx R_E and Dig. I apprecite the words.
I went today and paid the lawyer $3500. I hope he is good.
I am a little ticked off. I was going to buy a FOIL Cryptic Command and 2x FOIL birds from R_E.com last night. But I didn't have any $ in paypal and it'll take 3-5 days to transfer from my bank account into paypal. So I waited until today to figure it out and the FOIL Cryptic Command is now gone. Oh well, you snooze you lose.

Ah, you guys are a box of crackers. There is some funny going on in here, good thread jj. I didn't know what Talena looked like, so I'm glad we slow-rolled that joke.

Well, can't we pretend it's still some random stranger, you chime in? Strictly for comedic value, you understand. . .
I hope we don't auto-lose this round, hopefully some folks will make the B&J/LSD/Cherry Garcia connection + we stick around. Still, this is like, every Iron Chef episode with Michiba - cod roe ice cream! Truffle ice cream! Leek ice cre- ok, yeah. Wee

Question, is this one of those things where we should never mention alcohol or show images of them? Just wondering.
Yup, I went hiking a few times with Talena. Great hikes too. Typical Lower Sonoran Desert habitat with a few microclimates allowing for the occasional juniper, pinyon, and even ice (Which I was surprised to see). I tried to get Nick to come, but he's usually tired from work or some such and in no mood to try to discover a new way up a cliff. Talena seems to like it, but I do worry a little when traversing the steeper parts. Specially Considering Talena's habit of walking into large, clearly visible, sharp pointy objects. I'd walk by this huge agave and say, "Talena, watch out for this Agave." While pointing. She'd look at it and say, "okay." then a few seconds later yelp with a loud "ouch" as she impales herself on it. Last thing I want is to say, "hey Talena, watch out for that cliff." Followed by a much later conversation, "hey Nick....remember Talena. You didn't need her home in one piece did you?"
It seems that all this time I have been pronouncing Talena's name as "Telina" and nobody said anything. >_<
In other news I have been working on making a backpacking stove out of aluminum cans. Nick, and a few others, have been giving me a little bit of grief about it because of the amount of time and resources I've been putting into it. Buying a bunch of cans and supplies I've already spent more than $60. Supplies are normal stuff around the home for most normal people, for me I had to buy it all. I spent all morning working on it and after I completed it realized that it was the version that needed a pot stand. Bah, scrap it, back to the drawing board. Least I know it works.
Picture is out of focus, but you get the gist of it. Seems to work fine, just needs a cooking stand which I don't wish to make. Ah well, it was a prototype anyway.
Cheers,
Daggertooth

Daggertooth, can't you just buy a whisperlight for that much? I mean, if you've lost your stove in the field, but you've got the parts to build a working gas stove, it would be useful to know how to throw one together. So I guess I'm just questioning your motivation. Btw, I so-very-first-pick 'tooths for my post-apocalypse team

I would vote for conquer. Meaty Icecream is a little weird and doable, and I've heard stranger foods than partialy decayed. So I don't think Animate Dead, Clickslither, Bogarden Hellkite or Mutavault would be bad. Necropotence has been a powerhouse and could probably conjure up Icecream. Conquer would go out and steal Icecream, which is the only way it would get icecream and thus not make Icecream. Thus my vote...and a long winded reason why.
Ria, sure I can go out and buy a stove. Take less time and might even be cheaper now that I look at it. But then with the equipment I've bought I can build more than one, I can build several. So thats nice. Ultimately its the weight issue that I'm considering. An aluminum can weighs a few ounces, next to nothing. That beats anything currently on the market. (besides other aluminum can stoves).
Oh, and the apocalypse is schedualed for December 21st 2012.
CharlieD. Nice picks. I love messing around with exposure time, especially when it comes to adjusting the aperture for maximum depth of field. I'll probably post some of my 30 second shots later.
Mike, Math problem for you. Charlie's top photo shows a string of light made by a headlight. Judging by the length of the light and knowing that the exposure was a second. How fast was the vehicle moving. Remember to compensate for the length being stretched due to the angle of the photo.
Cheers,

Edit: hey, how about a post apocalyptic clan meet for survival!
Dose Editose: So I went to the hardware store to purchase an exacto knife, utility knife just not cutting it. When I left I was directed to this young woman in a vehicle. She was in some dire strates it seemed and needed some money. Her story was that she had moved here recently, had no money, and had a baby which required special formula due to being lactose intolerant. She asked for $20, which I had on me...but I can't afford to be giving money to every sob story that comes around, even if it seems that she could really use it much more than me. I mean for me a carefully spent $20 means I can eat for several days. Probably means more to her. Course none of the money I have is mine, belongs to the credit company. Still, I felt bad about the situation because I could have helped. I did offer three dollars, but she refused the paltry sum. Sucks when life gets you down like that....

@Mike: Or, you could just participate in the thread on a regular basis, and then you would know what the discussion is about.
As for convincing Chris to just buy a stove..good luck with that. I tried at length while we were at the store buying his million cans of beer, but it was to no avail.
I vote for Conquer as well.
Springleaf Drum is, in fact, absolutely ridiculous in Affinity.
Chris, worry not. I fully expect Talena to get injured regularly on your hiking trips. She's a quick healer though. I mean..Sunday she sprained her ankle and basically couldn't walk for the next day...the day after that, she was out hiking again. It's good that she's getting out of the house.
First of all, congratulations on 48 days of sobriety, Dave. You've been in my thoughts and prayers, and I am glad that rehabilitation has gone so well for you. No matter what happens, now, you're a better man for the changes you've made. You've more than earned my respect these past few weeks.
The entire Talena/Chris/Jonny joke was absolutely hilarious. I must admit, I didn't get it at first, and I am glad that I didn't make a comment.
As for the contest, there isn't one. There is no way I want Animate Dead Ice Cream.
I'm going to see if we can get added to the official smilies.
Thanks for the well-wishes Daron. A slight update on all of that. Kristen and I have been talking a lot lately and she really seems to be warming up to me. Normally, I would have been the one contacting her, but lately, I haven't had to do so. She's been going out of her way to call me. I think she just needed to take things really, really slow. I don't really have a problem with that, though, because I believe it makes those little special moments even more special.
Diggy, I'd have to get to know you better. Feel free to hit me up on MSN or AIM. If you need either username, just send me a PM.
EDIT: Howdy Nick.
EDIT 2: I'll get in line after Laika for making the new thread. I haven't done it before, and I just thought of a great thread title.
Nick, I have been participated regularly, having read every last post on this thread.
Chris, there's no way to tell. The photo just doesn't contain enough information to figure it out. However, if you measured the length of the dashed lines on the road, then it could be done.
Jonny, no worries there. Vicodin doesn't affect me in any way, save for a little constipation and of course some pain relieving. Pretty hard to get hooked on something that is so like Tylenol to me.

How is it you're the only person having trouble keeping up then? Having vanished for months on end + then coming in here + telling us how to post, it's farce. Maybe when they pull your teeth, they can get that stick out of your arse too?
Sneek peek was good, but I had to leave pretty early. I went 1-1 drop. Would have probably gone 3-1 or 2-2. I played a creature heavy deck with elves + gobbos. It was pretty intense, smacked down pretty quickly. Plus I pulled a Ajani, so I'm happy. My friend got a foil Garruk.
I'm going to buy some photographic utensils soon - a Sigma 50-200mm or a 70-300mm lens, not sure which one - and a Cokin filter starter kit. the 50-200 seems like the better choice because it's pretty much the baseline lens overall, all around good focal length etc. Cokin filters have an adaptor which you slide the filter into - they're like a sheet of gel, pretty much. Cool stuff. :]
Rambo was ok, I wanted to see it ..so I am glad I did. My disapointment was over the story line and the length of the movie. It was only an hour and a half long and the story wasn't very good. But Stallone was still John Rambo and the gore was A++!
I got some new PS3 games today; Burnout: Paradise City, Stranglehold and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Yukora - Thanx for the kind words. I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Daron - Hope all is going well with the move.
Daggs - Is that the date Nastrodomus predicted? And if the young woman had really needed $ to feed her child, she would have taken the $3.
Here is my extended T&N deck. It works very well, so I am reluctant to change it. But it has been a while since I have added anything to it. So if anyone has any thoughts, comments or knows anything I can add to make it better please let me know.

Homebrew is creating Magic.
Are you a pilot or a creator??
It looks like a really solid list. You might want to try the Sky Hussar/Kiki Jiki combo. It's pretty strong.
