So, forgive me for perking up when someone gets smashed in the face with a wine bottle.

Hrm. Well this is disturbing news. I suggest, A) Make friends in college. I think having some friends to do stuff with will help get your mind off of things.
Yeah, that's the problem. I have no friends. I have tried pretty much EVERYTHING to make a few friends, and I have none. I have people I talk to, but they're definetly not the sort of people I would hang out with or go out with.
thanks for the slap, though.

So, we were supposed to get some snow last night into this morning. We didn't. Tonight was supposed to be pretty clear. I was supposed to go out tonight. It's pouring freezing rain
It's not that cold here, although we do get weather like that. It was just -19 Celsius, then it warmed to like -12. Continental weather sux.
EDIT: Great story. It got rather cold today, so most of the people who were going to protest the war bailed out, except a couple of my friends. So we went to protest and we had the traditional things like the "define terrorism" signs and the "make love not war signs." But a friend of mine brought be great big black flag with a huge circle-A on it. I thought people would pull over to the side of the road just to beat us up, but a lady from the coffee shop on the other side of the street from us took us coffee, saying that the anarchy flag made her day because it reminded her of her days protesting in the 1960s. She said that she used to have a mohawk (like my friends) and that, as a person who works for the State of Montana, politics in any form sucks.
Help has come in the form of a bit of basic algebra. I feel that it'll shed some light on your problem here.
Basically:
S + T = W
...S in this case stands for 'spam' and the T stands for 'light trolling'. And the W? That stands for 'Warning'. I love math. -- {mikeyG}
it's about 6 degrees F outside now, and tomorrow it's only supposed to be 3. Low of -6.
sweet.
today isn't much better than yesterday was. Mikey's not been feeling good lately, and thus has been going to bed earlier...which cuts into "us time"...which I REALLY need.
but i can't make him stay up if he's not feeling good. :/
Yep, definetly ****ED things up this time. Way to go, Jo. You're so ****ing stupid.
-27 C is about -15 in F. So yeah it's about 20 of our degrees colder there, which is pretty damn cold. Our windchill brings us down to your temp without it. Though it's not as crazy as I initially thought.

Hello, BearAssassin! Good to see you outside Debate.

Well, I mean "interesting", when I say "interesting". I've found that in general, persons from Ohio are MUCH nicer and fun and interesting to talk to than those from Wisconsin.
Anyway, what part of Ohio are you from?
You must have met nicer people than I have. I'm sure it's not uniform, I'm just being snarky.
I'm from the central region of Ohio, fairly near the capital. My town is pretty depressed, though.

I have next to nothing in common with girls, except for the fact that I like boys. [[shrugs]] I hate shopping, makeup, nail polish, fancy clothes, GIRL POWER!!!111one bands, and pretty much anything else you can think of that a girl likes.
I like sports. I like playing them, and getting all dirty and dusty while doing so. I like playing poker. I like talking about music--but NOT in the "OMG THIS SONG IS SO GREAT" way like all the girls I know do. I don't mind going a day or two without a shower. I love jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies. I know more about computers than any girl I know. I like nerf guns and airsoft and all that kinda thing. I like stuff that has to do with WWII. I like violence and blood and gore. And a billion other things I can't even think of right now.
This is why I'm always "one of the guys". and damnit, I love it. I relate to guys so much better.
Well, I'm not exactly that way, so I don't know if I can relate per se. I'm very girly, though I don't necessarily play into some of the stereotypes like "loves shoe shopping, wears a lot of make-up, loves girl power," etc. And I, like you, am not overly concerned with clothing to the point where I don't wear casual clothes (I don't like jeans though, and would only wear a hoody for warmth when necessary). Other than these, though, I'm definitely not one of the guys. I am not particularly comfortable with violence and blood, don't like rough sports, and so on.
I'm afraid I'm going to lose him. Push him a little too far away, and lose him. And not be able to get him back.
This fear is normal, I think. I know what it's like, but just try to relax about it a bit. Usually stressing about thingst can just make them worse. Take a step back, breathe, and look at it again when you feel better. You could also talk to him about it, if that's an option.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Ohio eh? There was a grand prix a couple years back in Columbus that I went to. My friend Rob says that all of Columbus looks like just the South part of Dallas. (that's a bad thing since he means size and environment. But hey, you guys are better drivers than we are. I didn't know it was possible to use your blinker and people would ACTUALLY let you in their lane. Wow.)
Jo: Is it possible you're being paranoid? (wonders if that will summon the great and powerful Paranoid out of his hiding place.) If it's paranoia then it's just going to make things worse. If there's really a problem you have to find the best way to talk to him about it.
Weather: Well on friday it started raining. Then, while raining, it started snowing. Then it just snowed. I'm pretty sure we had a tornado too last week but it only landed for 10 seconds or something.
but on the bright side it's sunny out and a nice 44 degrees F. (though the windchill makes it feel like....41... sorry :()
Ok so no one has done a HGOTW yet so I figured I'll do another one since I have the opportunity.
This may come as a shock to you all, but.... I'm gay.
I know. I can hear the ground buckling under the pressure of your shocked jaws collectively dropping.
While I'm not that girly I really do enjoy Ice skating. That's pretty gay. I know. But... dang some of these ice skaters are just gorgeous.
This weekend I watched the finals of the European Men's Championship. The winner is the utterly fabulous Brian Joubert from Frace. Absolutely gorgeous IMHO (In my homo opinion)
But he's not the only adonis on skates so I figured I'd put him up here along with a few others of the men's ice skating circuit. (And seriously. You guys are more than welcome to start posting hot guys of the week cuz I know my taste is different than most!)
Pictured below are three gay Ice skaters. Brian Joubert, Evan Lysacek, and Johnny Weir. I dunno if you'll enjoy them as much as me
I don't like to come out of hiding all that often. I prefer my sick hobby, stalking silently and invisibly
I don't live in the US, so I don't really know anything about Ohio, except for it's existence... I don't even know where it is in the US :shame: I suck at geography! Really!
Jo, as much as I do not like to say it, maybe, just maybe! Micah has a point. You're just a little paranoid about the situation. Can't blame you either, I know what it's like. I'm one of those people who sees one problem and somehow manages to make my entire life a problem as well. Don't know why, really, I expect it's because I'm strangely comforted by a sense of panic. It feels like someone else is going to have to swoop in and save me, because I'm, well, feeling helpless.
Hmm, I'm not really helping, huh? My point, really, is that if you're anything like me you will somehow manage to save yourself. Unwittingly, yes, but you will somehow. Embacing it helped me out a lot... Turned me into a cold, heartless person, shutting everything out, but it helps...
I'm still not helping
Being bitter helps. If you'd like I can mail you the Bitterscope™.
Noid: Got any suggestions for hot guy of the week? (By the way, I know you won't remember what I'm talking about but I stopped seeing those car commercials that remind me of you ;))

I'm from the central region of Ohio, fairly near the capital. My town is pretty depressed, though.
My boyfriend grew up in Grandview, but he lives in Galloway now. I love both places to death, and even though I've only been there for a total of three weeks, I can pretty much find my way to whever I'd need to go. It's pretty much home to me, unlike Wisconsin.

Well, if you think about it, most major cities look pretty similar. Ohio drivers are ****in' crazy sometimes, but in general they're better than other people. Like Illinois! UGH. haha. However there seems to be an abscence of directional-usage around C-bus, 'cause when I would go places with Mikey, you wouldn't know someone was turning until they were actually making the car turn... O_o;
In other news, I have all As and Bs for grades so far. Much better than last semester.
And here we go with the war with my roommate again!

Stopping by to check this place out and say hi. I probably should have posted here sooner since I am bisexual. Hey now, Illinois drivers may be crazy but they can drive. You have to be crazy to not die on the tollway.
Then again, there are a good chunk of people in the area who do not have legally-procured drivers licenses (or any at all for that matter) who outright can't drive.

Nebraska Drivers aren't what one would call bad, just a little... dull, I guess. they're not too smart about driving, to put it very nicely, not that they can't drive in general, just that they don't put too much thought to it
I don't really like Nebraska though, especially west Omaha. Neighborhoods as far as one can see, and the "suburbia complex" mind set runs rampant...
Jolene: Well what he meant was that Columbus was the size of just HALF of Dallas and looked the same. The northern part of dallas is a lot nicer. (Yes...I'm insulting Columbus.)
Very few people use their turn signals in Texas I've noticed. Sure there's hundreds of people that do, but...that's in all of texas >_<. I think people use their turn signal in driver's ed and then forget about it later as an inconvenience.
Mamelon: Yeah heh. There was a nude photo without the basket of goodies. I thought about just cropping that photo because it was pretty sexy. I talked to Kraj about the guys and he said that that photo might have been pushing the censors a little too much so I went ahead and deleted it. If I can find it again I'll crop it and put it back up I think.
Welcome Shin. Tell us a bit about yourself and Kraj and I will show you the new IMPROVED secret handshake that now requires, nay, DEMANDS three people to be effective.
So Again I have to plead with you guys. Please someone make a Hot Guy of the Week next week. I'm not running out of guys that I think are hot but I definately would like to get other points of view! (Cuz not everyone can swoon for Brian Joubert.)
And to replace that awesome picture here's a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo feeling up some guy in the locker room...
Three person secret handshake? Does it involve running out of hands?
People who want to know me a little better should check my extendo, it is a pretty good representation of who/what I am. I even have some of my own poetry in there.
Three person secret handshake? Does it involve running out of hands?
Hands will be running but I don't think "out" is the appropriate preposition
Let's just say that it doesn't necessarily require hands at all. Yes. I'm aware "secret handshake" is a misnomer then. But really, after you've experienced it you wouldn't care.
Right up my alley. By the way, in your school, does "women's studies" entail what is called "gender studies" in other schools?
I think so. Gender studies sounds like it's probably the same thing. It could basically be called "feminism studies". Although, I suppose with gender studies, it wouldn't seem as weird for there to be a class about men and masculinity, which could of course be studied in a feminist manner.
They've also added a sexuality studies minor, but since I'm sort of adding Women's Studies as a minor just because I can get it by only taking one more class, that's the one I'm adding. Sexuality Studies would require me to add more classes.
