Promiscuity and domestic violence were much higher amongst interracial couples during the late 19th/early 20th century also. It's not because it's something inherent to the relationship. It's because when a relationship is criminalized or causes ostracism, it's going to be practiced less by those that toe the line and more by those that disregard norms and expectations- which isn't necessarily bad, but it increases the chances of other law-breaking and anti-social behavior greatly. It also creates a disrespect for the law for those that are shortchanged by unfair laws and social expectations. This is why, for instance, criminality and disrespect for the law is so prevalent amongst the African-American community- hundreds of years of injustice that bore the full force of the law created a resentment that's culturally very deep-rooted. Hard to learn respect for the law when it tells you you don't have rights. Which is another argument against such social injustices; besides the ethical angles, the negative repercussions can cause massive harm for generations to come.
Anyway. Oh, also, I'm done with basic training. Not going to have tones of internet access for a few weeks, but it's a start. You can break out the confetti and parades and such now.

There's all sorts of societal factors that may cause correlation without the two things you're looking at being necessarily responsible for one another.
Like how when ice cream sales increase, so do deaths by drowning. Ice cream doesn't cause drowning; summer leads to both seeing an increase.

Oh! Yesterday I went to the Underground Faeries fashion show, hosted by someone I know who designs. It was very cool. There were two dance presentations, two live bands, and I got to introduce the calendar we've been working on for months, which turned out very well.
Congrats on the calender Tautha. I'm not much of a fashion guy ie I dress myself with Express and AF based on what's in the window, but it sounds like it would have been a great event.

I've been dating a guy a lot older than me for month now, and despite the fact he's a fantasic guy I'm still have a hard time seeing a long term future with him. We don't have a lot in common but thats pretty normal for me. Still I get the feeling that I might be. um... dunno happier if I was dating someone with similar interests, or at the very least closer to my age. Since someone (blue) will ask, he's 47. We've been friends for about a year, and he's had a serious crush on me for most of that time.
Well, D, I don't really think age is an issue but the problem of not sharing interests certainly is (though often age differences contribute to that). It's very difficult to sustain a long-term relationship when you don't have common interests.
But I'll ask this: have you really made an effort to find things in common?

Age differences don't faze me at all. My dad and his fiancee are 47 and 26 respectively. I'm completely fine with it.
I'd say it's important to have common interests, though. As Kraj implied, you may have to dig a bit harder to find something in common, but I'm sure there's something. Most people share some kind of commonality.
Blue it's monsterous. He's the only guy I've dated to even come close to me... but thatwould mean I've slept with him, and we've only been dating for about a month. I'm just not that kinda girl. Well I guess its shame on me since he has gone way out of his comfort zone, by hangin with me when in MTGO mode or when me and Sierra are working Smash Bros in over time. The unspoken trouble is that I've always been the older more established guy, and dating Ken has taken that out of the equation (he's a vet, with his own practice). For X-mas he's taking me to London England for 8 days. I know I should be thrilled but its a bit intimidating. I wasn't kidding all those times I said "my favorite class in highschool was lower, cuase they don't eat as often, and have better bodies". I'm starting to think I'm scared cuase the roles are reversed....he pays for dinner.

I have second-hand experience with youngsters dating oldsters, and what it comes down to is this: you have to ask yourself what you want out of this relationship (assuming all goes ideally). Do you really want a long term relationship with a guy who will be retiring in fifteen years? I don't actually know how old you are, but you should be asking yourself if you want a longterm relationship.
And if the answer is yes, you don't mind that idea, then go ahead by all means. But if the answer is no, as it would be with me, then you have to make that very clear to him.
That's not quite true. You can continue a relationship you don't expect to last more than a few years without him knowing that. But eventually you will want to leave him, and he'll be heartbroken, and you'll have led him on.

About five in the morning I walked to upstairs bar to retrieve my drunks, and saw one of them face down on the ground being kicked by three guys, and a fourth waiting in the weeds. So I should blocked one guy and threw myself in between two other brawlers.... long story short my drunks has picked a fight with the club security, and were getting the butt kicking they deserved. Today's lesson kids don't hit someone wearing a staff t-shirt... espically if he and his friends are twice your size.

What did I do? Not much, I didn't plan a party. My sister and a friend and I went out. We ended up at Future's with cheesecake.

And I ate unhealthy food. I don't tend to like unhealthy food, but for some reason that day I was thinking, I could really go for some pizza and chicken wings. It was nice because everyone let me choose things.
And while we were walking (maybe it was the, hm, half hour? between Church/Wellesley and Future's, seemed like hardly any time at all) there was a huge blizzard, the biggest one so far for sure, and it was all very magical. We sang "Let it Snow..." and danced about as we travelled.
And for a gift my sister gave me ETERNAL LIFE.
Recently I've noticed that whenever I talk to a guy in the closet I end up trying to convince him to come out. How should I convince people to come out if it is a good thing to try to do? What do you guys think of forceful 'outings' like those some celebrities have had to go through? (I don't think it's a good idea personally.)
