The main topic was a rather long rant about the state of clans. How they are so inbred with each other that between friends and clan members you have no idea who's who. Makes any sort of clan participation moot and looses all identity and really the purpose of even having a clan. Few clans now can even claim an Identity. We are proud to say that we are one of them.
Diggy Dropped by to say hi and to rant with us. So Hi Diggy, thanks for Dropping by. Congrats on the job. And I agree.
We were also talking about the clan contest and who to vote for.
CharlieD : first pick Greek Alliance, Second Izzet
JJ: First Izzet, Second Greek
Daggertooth: First Izzet, Second Greek
Everyone else?
We were also talking a bit about Sushi and the great taste of it. I do believe that the green paste previously mentioned is Wasabe and not horseradish...but then they may very well be the same thing. In anycase it is delicious.

And I guess that I'm a lucky one for the truth of what I know. For my heart had not denied me and I have somewhere to go. I shall never be a prisoner of steel and glass and stone. If I leave, I will return again to my Rocky Mountain home.
Chris, nice pic from the peak! But if that were BC, you would see more mountains from there, rather than a plateau with a little hill on it.
As for the contest, I think the Greeks have a nice cycle. The cards "feel" like WotC cards, are all useful, and looking deeply into them, it's clear they are properly costed. 6/6 trample shroud evoke plow under for 7? Certainly. I like how the common has evoke and a CitP ability, the uncommon has that plus regeneration, and the rare has it plus shroud and trample. In other words, they don't just get bigger with rarity, they get more complex. Well done.
The Izzet cards are haphazard to me. The abilities don't have much to do with each other, other than being, well, identical. The contest rules were to make a cycle, and yeah they're all blue and they all have the "comes into play with counters" thing, but nothing pulls them together imo. It doesn't feel realistic. Additionally, I probably wouldn't care to play with them. And why is blue now the colour of potentially huge creatures? Lastly, I don't get why one of them randomly has a white activation cost on it. Meh!
Yuk's email addresses need to be (at)-ized.
Chris, I believe wasabi is hard to come by and pricey, and most "wasabi" you buy around here is horseradish paste with some wasabi added to make the flavour right. But I'm no expert.
EDIT: 1) Where the hell is Travis? And we haven't seen much of Mike, Dan, or Cubed lately either.
2) Good thread title
Haven't seen a whole hell of a lot of me due to a lot of annoying issues involving my network. I'm around though. Playing more magic again, thanks to finding a new nice local shop with a solid Legacy tournament every Tuesday.
Ummm... not much else entirely too awesome to report. I'm finally out of debt! But still very poor, and looking for a non-big-box-retail job.
Which we could update my job in my bio from pizza, though my heart's more there than the hell I work at now.
I dunno. I'm going to go put in some online apps right now. Give me awesome conversation fodder for when I get back.
Chris, can you update my profile? I'm 28 now, and I no longer intend to go back to college.
I think that the thread title is cool and clever. Nice job.
I ended up 5-1-1 at the PTQ, and made T8, where I lost resoundingly in R1. I'm going to write an article about it I think. I'll publish it at news, and we'll see if they'll publish it here.
I spoke with Travis on IM recently, he said he's avoid Salvation for whatever reason. He's not doing well, honestly. I worry about him, as he appears to just be drifting along. I offered him a free room here and a job where I work, but, he didn't seem interested.

Greeks' common is strictly better than Rampant Growth. . . but the entire Izzet cycle is abusive with draw like Brainstorm - should get a conditionally 4/4 for :1mana::symu:? Ooh, with Islandwalk. *shuffles Merfolk deck* Anyone else notice the Greek names? Harvester uncommon, Root rare. . . we all need a dose of creative juice, apparently <_<;
Is anyone else going to vote (or even around to vote?), or should I submit 1G/2I ?
Daron, If I had taken a picture towards the east you would have seen a few more mountains. Nothing impressive mind you, Arizona's tallest mountain is only 12,633...but its still a beautiful hike. Here is a picture of a more mountainous region.
Cyan, Congratulations on making top 8. I'd love to see the pin you got...assuming you got a nifty pin. Too bad on not winning in the booster draft. I can't seem to get past that point either. But top 8 is lots of fun. We'll do better in SanDiego on December 8th. Maybe this one we should practice for?
Also Edited your information. Edited mine when I posted....seems I'm two years older than what I had listed. O_o Anyone else need some Edifications?
Too Bad about HKKID. Hope he can come back soon. His lifestyle of party and fun is great...but sometimes it can bite you hard.
Congratulations on getting out of Debt Laika. Thats something I've been trying to do for years, but traveling around and taking the fun jobs as opposed to good paying jobs have taken a toll. I think I pay around $1500 in interest a year alone. Being out of debt is such an accomplishment.
Glad you all like the title.
Cheers,
Daggertooth

Chris: Yeah, more practice seems like a good idea. Sorry if I let you down there. Drafting Tuesday will help, and we'll get some sealed packs or w/e and work on it when we can. Or like I said, we can practice sealed for freeeeeeee if you just install MWS.
And yeah, I got a cool pin, it has Jace's head on it.
COngrats Nick on making Top 8. I made top 4 today at my Northeast Challenge with Faeries, but I lost in round one and then faced the same guy in the top 4 and that sucked. The first time because I got crzy mana flood and never saw my sideboard. In top 4 he just squeeked it out of his ass.:(
Travis is too smart to be a drifter...but because he's too smart he is probably thinking that he should be able to do anything he wants. He drinks way much and that's sad....I think there are deep seeded issues.....but I miss him and would to here from him again.

Yeah the common is better than Rampant Growth, but so was that snake elder dude and a bunch of other cards. It`s meant to be obsoleted. Mulldrifter and some others obsolete crappy commons.
No, I don`t think blue should have big creatures for 2 mana like that. The cards feel very unrealistic for blue. They can be undercosted fatties... not blue.
What do you mean by Greek names. Eddy Crester is Greek?
Hey, I thought I'd try and enlist a little help from you guys. My buddy loves all things related to dragons. For Christmas, I decided to acquire 1 copy of each dragon card ever printed for Magic(except Zodiac Dragon, tear..too expensive) and make a poster out of them. I'm hoping I can trade with you guys for some of the dragons that I don't already have. Here is what I need:

Just let me know which ones you have, and what you would want in trade, and we'll work out a deal.
I don't think I have any of those, sorry.
New thread yey!!
I got a new avatar tooo.
EDIT - cyan, if you're hard pressed to find all those, DeviantART has a great store where you can buy large sized prints of artwork by the users - and there is plenty of great dragon arts on there.

Actually, I'll need a poster to put them all on, so, I'll look into their artwork to accomodate this. I'm trying to find something with just a big dragon in the middle, and I'll arrange the cards(in sleeves obv) around it. It's an ambitious effort, but, I'm excited.
So I have maybe 4 days of real school left. German exams tomorrow, and on Wednesday I'm rehearsing drama and finishing my art piece, a human sized stencil of a robot. And then I just have drama after that, and I'm done, pretty much.
Quick! Someone Vote Izzet to stall us for a month. ;P
So I finished all the seasons to SG1 and started on Atlantis. Problem is that the webpage I've used to watch them for free doesn't have a few of the episodes and I am not willing to skip over most of season 1 to keep watching. I may have to go to blockbuster and see if I can rent it. Ah well.
Thats a nice new Avatar you've got there CharlieD

Figured I might as well let you in on what's been happening lately. I (somehow) managed to find religion. I've no clue how it happened, but with god's help it's completely turned my life around. I don't gamble, smoke, do drugs, or drink anymore. No seriously, I'm three months clean and sober. I've even given up sex/pornography. It's not like I'm going to be a virgin on my wedding night, but it's not going to happen again until then. I'm an entirely new person.
HAHAHAHA gotcha!
* HKKID vaguely wonders if anyone believed that.
* HKKID decides probably not.
Nawh. I'm doing fine. Just got a job tutoring physics. Pay is sh1t, but at least I'll make my December rent payment on time. I've finally managed to quit playing magic. I haven't given up any of my vices, although financial constraints have forced me to slow down a bit.
Hmmm, what's to say. I've finally managed to achieve my goal of quitting magic.

I am, I can, and I don't, respectively. Having said that, I came uncomfortably close to getting evicted for being unable to pay rent. Fortunately, I did a few sexual favors for my landlord's wife, and she loaned me the money. Well, not really, but the truth is a lot less interesting.
I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.

At this point, I was saying to myself "holy crap, wow, that's shocking!"
I let sammy watch me play 20 minutes of DOOM3 tonight with the lights off. She went to bed looking very sad that I wouldn't let her sleep with the light on.

Did she look under the covers and see a decreped zombie inching toward her mid-section? Did she beat it?
Travis....good to see that you're still alive and not camping out in the storm drains of San Fransisco blowin pole for a couple extra dollars! Those can't be real nipples! I think they're gum drop buttons!;)

I, on the other hand, only drink scotch in the morning if that is when I woke up.
Nothing beats rolling out of bed and pouring yourself a nice tall breakfast of champions on the rocks.
That being said, I've got a Legacy tournament tonight. Nothing huge, just a local shop weekly thing, but this week I'm bringing UWBG Landstill, which isn't something I've played extensively... I'm mostly accustomed to UW... so we'll see how I do with Pernicious Deed at the cost of a shakier manabase.
Oh, and Travis gave up porns for god? Lolz.
Oh, and if you have kicked the cardboard crack habit, and intend to sell things, I express interest. Great interest. I am out of debt now, and so I can be stupid as hell. To a point.

Thats about it.
Cheers,
Daggertooth

I'll update my profile.
And I love the title.
2) Good thread title
.
Ummm... not much else entirely too awesome to report.
When you cross my mind you'd best look both ways.
CharlieD : first pick Greek Alliance, Second Izzet
JJ: First Izzet, Second Greek
Daggertooth: First Izzet, Second Greek

Yukes: First Greek, Second Izzet
riiiln: First Greek, Second Izzet
Cyan: First Izzet, Second Greek
Greeks' common is strictly better than Rampant Growth. . . but the entire Izzet cycle is abusive with draw like Brainstorm - should get a conditionally 4/4 for :1mana::symu:? Ooh, with Islandwalk. *shuffles Merfolk deck* Anyone else notice the Greek names? Harvester uncommon, Root rare. . . we all need a dose of creative juice, apparently <_<;
Is anyone else going to vote (or even around to vote?), or should I submit 1G/2I ?
Cheers,
Daggertooth
Fake Eds: Is it bad that I am surprised that the term "Edification" is actually a real word?

And yeah, I got a cool pin, it has Jace's head on it.
I vote Izzet for #1, GA for #2.
Travis is too smart to be a drifter...but because he's too smart he is probably thinking that he should be able to do anything he wants. He drinks way much and that's sad....I think there are deep seeded issues.....but I miss him and would to here from him again.
I gotta say...there's nothing like a 9:00 am scotch on the rocks.
That's a very good thing. Stay that way, keep your income up, and spend some on Magic
Hey Nick, I found a website for ya. Make Click, or I be Execute! /borat
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
You wrote that at 9pm. And a 9am scotch, ew!
.
The names of the cards the Greek Alliance submitted - very similar to what we used/almost used.

My dogs woke me up at 3:00 am. I gave it about an hour, and wasn't able to get back to sleep. Looks like I'm up for the day.
Charlie, I am officially calling you St. Jude from now on. Just wanted to let you know.
"Angels Among Us" by Alabama. I don't know what all of your all's music preferences are, but I suggest everyone look this song up. It's amazing.
@Diggy in old thread: Brighton??
So I have maybe 4 days of real school left. German exams tomorrow, and on Wednesday I'm rehearsing drama and finishing my art piece, a human sized stencil of a robot. And then I just have drama after that, and I'm done, pretty much.
Getting Guitar Hero 3 this weekend.

If anyone else is going to vote, do it now, because we're going to submit our opinion.
.

* HKKID decides probably not.
Are we still doing the nipples thing?
God I hope so.
Oh yeah, and I vote Izzet. Just kidding!
Please don't do that.
Mafia Stats
Glad to see you're alive, T. We won that mafia game in the end. . . what did you do with your cards ;_;?
At this point, I was saying to myself "holy crap, wow, that's shocking!"
And then I just laughed a bunch.
I let sammy watch me play 20 minutes of DOOM3 tonight with the lights off. She went to bed looking very sad that I wouldn't let her sleep with the light on.
.
The one thing you have to know is.....I only drink scotch in the morning if I'm going out to play golf! Really loosens up the old muscles!
To a point.
When you cross my mind you'd best look both ways.
