Good morning, people. Yeah, that's right, it's 6:00pm there (EST), but here in Seoul it's 8:00am. I slept most of the flight, and had a nice breakfast of fruit, yogurt, and an omelette. I also watched the movie "Stardust". If you've ever tried to sleep sitting up in a chair, well, it pretty much sucks, but at least they gave us free blankets and pillows (and even a hot towel to wipe your face with in the morning ^_^).
I have lots of pictures, courtesy of my new digital camera, but I don't have the software or cord to upload them on me. I think I stowed that stuff in one of my checked bags.
I'm sorry to hear about your stepmother, Buzz. If you feel like talking about it any more, we're always hear to lend an ear, or a shoulder, or whatever.
You certainly will need the sleep, Mr. Stuff! Here's to hoping you can! I know some people simply cannot sleep on the plane... I'm fairly lucky I've always been able to... though it can be difficult what with the a/c blasting at full sometimes.. the pillows and blankets taht they give out, especially on the longer flights can really help!
Good luck! Keep us posted!!
Ok hi folks, I know I said I'd post about my job thing today and I haven't already-- Sorry to keep you guys waiting... I have officially (for now-- the reason I say for now is because this job is a trial run for one month, so I will be working there for one month then deciding whether or not things are working out...I'm looking forward to it though, and am dearly hoping it WILL be a job I enjoy, so that i can continue working there for a good long while!!) decided on the ROCHESTER job. I will still wait to hear back from the Washington D.C. people, to see if they are still interested in interviewing me, but for now, I haven't heard anything and I don't wish to turn down an offer that is offered me, as opposed to a "maybe, maybe not, we'll see if we want to interview you" thing... So, I have no idea what I will be getting paid just yet, but I'm hoping it will be at least 25,000, as that's what I talked to my boss about getting paid. I should know by the beginning of next week. But I start January 14th.. Which means I will be flying out to Rochester to get settled into my new place, on January 8th, flying out of Portland at noon pst, changing flights in Minneapolis around 5pm or something, then arriving in Rochester at 10pm est! Been talking with the guy who is likely to be my future roommate and so far he seems pretty down to earth and cool, so I'm looking forward to that.. He's from Istanbul Turkey, so that'll be an experience, especially if he has an accent.. But my word, he knows how to make SUSHI! I think that pretty close to sealed the deal for me!
He also has a DS, so we can play and exchange games.. I don't have much on mine, but he has downloaded some games onto his, plus he's a music and technology buff, he knows how to use a bunch of the programs i will need to use for work, so he can help me with those.. So in short, he seems like an awesome guy
So, I would be moving back to Rochester on January 8th, and starting my first job out of college on January 14th!!
By the way, I find it so cool that almost any major city any of us flies to in the USA, one of us can say that one of the CoffeeHouse lives there For instance, Las Vegas has Kevin, Minneapolis has Joyd, Baltimore/Washington DC has Snoop, so on and so forth
Good luck with the new job. I'm slightly envious of you getting a job that quickly out of college. Hopefully it'll be a good one for you.
I'd post more, but my laptop is at 15% of its remaining battery, and I can't plug it in here. Korea has incompatible wall jacks - go figure. I'm going to see if I can't use Skype to call home next.
Hi coffeehouse. I'm sorry I haven't been around in so long, and i've missed you all.
I just wanted to say happy holidays!
...and a few other bits.
@ Mr Stuff - I'm so happy for you! You have to sneak me some cool fan subs out of there, kay?
And... I'm back. I had to go find and buy a power adapter to fit Korean outlets. I've got my laptop battery charging now. My flight to Japan starts boarding in about another thirty minutes or so. Thankfully, this one is just going to be an hour and a half flight instead of 13 hours.
Welcome back, 'zad! I'd send you fansubs, if I could, but you know they aren't made over here. They're made by collaborative teams via the internet. Plus, I don't speak Japanese all that well at the moment (although I'm sure that will change).
Bonus - I just used my laptop here to wirelessly call my parents' home phone and talk to them. Just whipped out the credit card, bought some Skype minutes, and boom. Done. Bless the internet, it's so darn awesome. My laptop is now a cell phone that calls anywhere at 2 cents a minute.
Okay, take everything you ever thought about Deego and toss it out the window; if you try to go offensive, he WILL obliterate you in about three seconds.
Use Deego's power-up ability (some Howl, don't remember what it's called) but continue to block...until you see him about to reload his weapons. When he does that, you have time for 3-4 quick swings that will deal quite a bit of damage. Listen to his taunts as well- when he starts to monologue, hit him hard.
This battle will take a little while, but you HAVE to keep up on the healing items and on the blocking or you can't win.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Thanks a lot everyone. That makes me a feel better.
I was pretty broken up about it this morning, but I'm doing better now. I think the worst part about the whole situation is that none of us expected this. Well, that's more of a half-truth.
We knew she wasn't going to be around much longer, definitely less than a year, but it happening so suddenly is the real ton of bricks. My dad was telling me that it seemed like any other trip to the hospital like it has been for the past few years. But then, it just happened.
But yeah, things are going to be different around the house. I can only imagine what's going to happen, so I'll have to wait and see for now. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on what's happening.
Hi guys I just woke uP! My Internet is getting crappy nowadays. Im typing this at a computer rental shop. Damn Im always missing out the fun here nowadys. Happy New Year to everyone!
What is your chinese animal year!? Im year of the Hare (or rabbit)!!
This battle will take a little while, but you HAVE to keep up on the healing items and on the blocking or you can't win.
Figured that out shortly before this. Didn't know my block button on my old primary controller was slightly broken (it's now a bit finicky about how it wants to be pushed). After figuring out that problem I took care of him easy enough.
Chinese Zodiac: I, like Tanthalas, am also a Dog. '82 was such a magical year...
I'd link to some fanfare music or something if I wasn't about to pass out from being tired.
You see the little flag there under my name... yep, it's official. I'm through customs and everything. Now, to find someplace to plug this laptop thing in... and get something to eat and drink so I don't like, die.
Oh yeah, and all the ladies here are HAWT. There's one even sitting next to me now.
Yeah, Pat's go undefeated. It was really weird for me. All season long I had wanted to see them lose, but as I was watching the game, I found myself hoping they went undefeated. I guess it was just because they had come this far already, just give it to them. I still want them to lose in the playoffs, but congrats to the Pats.

I have a blog. Just the beginnings of one, but it had to start some time. I just finished eating at a McDonalds here at the airport. Damn, even the restaurant waitresses wear tight skirts and uniforms here. I'm about to go catch my bus to Yonago. I'll report in more (and more coherently, and with pictures) when I'm less tired. A lot less tired.
@shah: thanks! its good to see you back shah the coffeehouse and natural 20 is never the same without you seriously. Definetly a huge welcome back.
Blah anyway i have work on monday as well from 1pm to 9:30pm those shifts are nasty. Anyway just wanted to stop by and say goodnight to you all have a good one everyone. See you all tommmorrow.
Hey, I am so sorry about your step-mother, Buzz. I don't know how it feels to lose someone that close to you, but I know that it must hurt pretty bad, and I really do wish the best for you and your family. Hopefully you can soon celebrate her life rather than mourn her death. All the best wishes to ya, Buzz :).
Well, I don't really have anything else to say, other than a happy new year to everyone if I don't stop in until then. Don't get too drunk anyone ;).
Why 47 hours? Well, that was the last time I saw the light of day after stepping into a hospital to reinstall an entire room's worth of equipment (there are literally 7000 wires there), and of course, I lost like 3 of them, so it was maddeningly infuriating too find those lost needles in the hay stack. At times, I REALLY hate my friggin job. Ooh well, its done, I'm gonna go make a sandwich, and probably stay up for ooh, and 9 hours, then crash, HARD.
Hey everyone, just poking my head in.... Welcome back to Shah! We missed you and your cooking, man! *hugs!*
Stick around for awhile! You're just in time for the New Years' festivities
Also, to the awesome Mr. Stuff-- VERY happy you've arrived safely in Japan! I can't wait to hear/read about your adventures, AND see some awesome pictures !!
So, guys.. I leave for Rochester on January 8th, should I make a new thread on the New Year or should I wait til I leave, cuz I likely won't be around for a while... Just curious about your thoughts
Anyway, got to talkin' to my roommate today, I'm excited cuz he seems like a real cool guy and we have similar interests, artistically, musically and we got to talkin' about how we'd set up the apartment, first we were talking about the bed that would be good for me, then we got to talking about decorations for the walls, what kind of posters/art prints we like, that kind of thing.. It was pretty cool, I'd say When I get there I'll definitely take pictures and put them up.. We were actually talking about posting up some old record covers as posters and stuff, plus he's ok with my Harrison Ford fan-dom
So i'll be moving in the 8th, I'm kind of nervous cuz the job is a trial run... so I don't know 100% if I'd be staying there... and I don't just want to stay in Rochester for only a month... but at the same time, I'm nervous.. what if i don't like the job.. But I think I will.. but what if I don't... agh.. lol..
Today I went to see "Golden Compass" .. it was pretty darn good I don't know how closely it matched the book cuz I haven't read the book in YEARS... so I need to re-read the book so that I can watch it again with wiser eyes.. I also would like to see it captioned, cuz I think that way it would make a lot more sense
Ooh and also, at the movie theater, there was a "Coming Soon" poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.... YES indeed, INDIANA JONES IV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (4, for those of you Roman-numerically-challenged :p) Its coming out May 22, 2008!!!!!!!! AT LAST!!!!!! Check out www.IndianaJones.com for more info
Then after the movie, I met a friend at Barnes & Noble, he was in the service and has been in Iraq previously (though in Texas for a while now) and will be returning to Iraq this summer.. He should have been out of the service in October of this year, because he's being shipped off to Iraq in the summer, his end date got pushed back to whenever they return
It was good to see him, and we just drove around town, got McDonalds, then went to the mall and wandered around.. I saw some cool Kingdom Hearts action figures in Waldenbooks! it was so cool! ....hmm that reminds me, I need to play that again.. ah well, maybe when I move to Rochester, I'm going to be insanely busy up until I leave...
Over Christmas, Ryan and I communicated via a couple emails back and forth.. it was wonderful.... The best Christmas present I ever received It was wonderful to talk to him again, and he seemed really relaxed, and not cold at all....It really gives me hope for a positive time in the future.... When that will be, I don't know, but I'm really happy that we were able to talk however briefly it was, at last... after a month and a half of no communication whatsoever.. I still miss him terribly..
And today, when I returned from spending time with my friend (we came home early cuz we couldn't think of anything to do that didn't require money :p) I decided to look around Facebook, and I found pictures posted by his good friend Frank, and I was looking at them....and there he was..........there... looking unbelievably wonderful.. it was the kind of thing where, you kind of sort of don't want to look....but you have to.... and you would never choose not to, just because you miss them that much...... Reaching deep inside my heart, the emotions that welled up, I hadn't felt that strongly, tears hitting my eyes in a long time.. I didn't give in completely to the emotions..but I definitely felt it... Seeing the cocked-eyebrow silly "what-are-you-DOING?" expression on his face, seeing his smile, his hand raised to his brow, as he conversed with people.. I ... I miss him.. so much... I miss the warmth of his hug, the tenderness of his kisses, the gentle squeeze of his hand... I miss everything about him...
...sorry for the ...kinda rant..thing.. *sigh** **ahem** *deep breaths*
Tomorrow, I'm going to play bingo at the local Bingo Hall with my grandma and Mom.. that should be a lot of fun! I'm soooo gonna win a ton of money !

:o.........That is just awesome, as it is I am a huge Indiana Jones fan, so this news is great, and it better not disappoint!:D
indiana jones 4 would be indeed awesome ive always been a huge fan of the series. Now if they made ghostbusters 3 we will all be set in my opinion.
@shah: i have a question for you didn't you used to post or at least visit the starcity games legacy forums alot? Because i remember seeing your name pop up there countless times.
Anyway just wanted to say good morning i have work from 1pm to 9:30pm again but probably going to go out to eat breakfast then get ready for work in awhile. Ill talk to you all later though and have a great day everyone.
Well.. I would be happier about Indy.. but I already knew about that for like a week Still awesome though.
Well I can beat that, I've known about it for about a month and a half :p. Yeah, my aunt is like a computer graphics designer for some company that does tons of movies, and IJ is the one she is working on now. Anyway, not to brag, but its cool to see a relative's name in the credits, ya know?
Well today's a big day for me. I'm in the finals for my fantasy football league, and it looks like it's going to be really close. Go Kurt Warner/Jets defense!
