Hiya buddy! goodluck in ff12 and in work. I really do hope you wont quit legacy..Its just like...not so like you..^_^
hehe well i think its time for me to move on in magic since ive played legacy for more then just a couple of years and I think it would be just great to play casual.
Speaking of legacy spectral lynx is awesome in a metagame full of threshold decks that run nimble mongooses, werebears, tarmogoyfs, and quirion dryads. Spectral lynx reminds me of silver knight which was pretty deadly against goblins when goblins had the deck to beat title.
I'm planning on bringing back an old favorite in the Coffeehouse, by the way..
ohhh thats pretty cool we can't hardly wait.
Anyway I will be back later hopefully my shift won't drag on today. I will talk to you all later though. Have a good one and im just glad i have sunday and monday off.
Coolness. I get Wednesday off, but only because it's my regular day off.
My opponent for round 6 of the tournament here dropped, so I'm 4-2 now. 5-2 might be able to make in given the right circumstances, so, I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm sort of dissapointed in how close my games with Blade332 (currently 5-0) and goat were, but on the other hand, I've been completely blown out of the water by how well my deck has performed so far. I didn't expect anything from it at all.
So, what or who are you bringing back, Alacar? I know I'm 4 weeks behind on the whole AotW thing, mostly due to the whole fiasco that was my supposed move to Japan. I might actually do another one tomorrow, if I get a few other things together. Then again, knowing me, it's hard to tell.
I know what he's bringing back...but I'll let him tell you.

Starbucks is already a bust. I'm glad they got back to me quickly, but it was with a "We're sorry, but others have better qualifications, please try again some other time" call. I'll wait on Best Buy before I continue my rounds.
A relative newcover to the Coffeehouse, Charm_Master3125 prefers to just have the moniker Charm Master, Charm, CM, or something more easy on the eyes. His screen name is actually attributed to a cycle of 'Charmer' monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!, that control certain monsters when they unflip. His avatar has the art for each. Neat! Dr. Tom persuaded him to go from another forum to this one on May 6th, and he joined in during the height of Future Sight.
Of the forums, he enjoys Humor the most, and gets a daily chuckle or two from it. Let's hope the Coffeehouse will be his #2 from now on!
Concerning that game that we play, Boros Fury-Shield has proven its worth in his eyes: reflecting 46 damage for 5 mana is gold stuff. Currently he's got a rareless Sliver deck in the works, followed by a Type 2 RDW deck, and is considering the benefits of WW Kithkin.
Outside that game, Charmster is a total Pokemon dork, to which I must point him in the direction of our Pokemon World Project. Also he enjoys flight sims, and plays D&D on occasion--he claims to be surrounded by self-proclaimed nerds on a college campus, so it's not a surprise. In addition, he is a total card shark, and is always willing to shuffle up and deal.
Charmy-chan proclaims he has a relatively perfect singing pitch, which can come quite in handy. We'd be glad to hear you, bud. Like many of us, he is merely trying to survive in life, college, and the world beyond. Currently he's trying to get an uber-cute picture of Jhoira of the Ghitu photoshopped into color for me. Oh, Charm Master, you slick devil.
Considering the Coffeehouse, he really enjoys the lack of spam, and the fact that you can really start to get to know and enjoy people--not something very common on internet forums!
He likes the hot chocolate, though he claims he can't find it.. *sigh* here you go, Charmy. *Alacar hands Charm_Master a cup of hot cocoa.
His favorite regular? Here are his words:
Quote from Charm_Master3125 »
Probably Mr. Stuff. He's another otaku I can barn for ideas on what to watch, and he's also an average magic player making his way up the ranks as best he can...kind of like me.
That's it for Regular of the Week! Geek Mp3s will come soon, rest assured, as soon as I can get his songs.
yeah...sorry for picking really obscure/old songs...I have some others that should be a bit easier to find if you need...

Congratulations, Charm_Master, and thanks for the mention. It's always nice to be appreciated. And I'm curious to know what those songs are.
Speaking of anime: KARAS. Watch it. Love it. It's awesome. Al, I can send you the link if you want, (I've been whoring it out to everyone lately) because it is just one of those things that everybody needs to see. A-Kraze hasn't released the last part yet, but they will soon. I watched a lesser-quality copy of the ending today, and it was still amazing.
Due to my bye in the tournament this round and my lack of a new job, I don't have much to do this weekend. It's 1:00am here, so most likely I'll be sleeping a lot of tomorrow away. I'll probably hop on the ESL job posting boards and start hunting sometime tomorrow. That, and (surprise) watch more anime. Can't get enough of that stuff. It's addictive.
And don't call me Al. I feel like one of the Bundys when you guys call me Al
As for the songs.. I'll try to get some of the six(!) you mentioned. The thing is, I host those songs on my website, so I don't want to bombard my server's bandwidth with whole albums' worth of material. I just wanna give samplers into some music, geeky or otherwise, that the RotW enjoys.
And don't call me Al. I feel like one of the Bundys when you guys call me Al
Sorry. I knew that, but it's easy to forget when you're not being careful.
Anway, good luck tomorow, FLCL. Is there anyone else going to (what I'm assuming is) states? Or are champs and states two different things? I'm completely clueless when it comes to the tournament scene.
same here, stuff...I just know that PT Hollywood falls on a date that's after I get out of school, and standard is the format that I'm most accustomed to. I'll be looking for local PTQ's for sure!
good night everybody!

Morning Everyone, know what day it is today :sneaky:?
I went to a party last night. It was the first I've ever gone to because my new friends from work invited me. Apparently it was a bad party, but I didn't think it was terrible. I had a relatively good time, probably as much as I would have had at home. It was really awkward at times though, because the girl I asked out was there and she still is afraid to come near me :(.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
I, however, will be staying home and working on a project...:(
My kitty came home from the vet yesterday. He had kidney troubles from the tainted pet food and was very lucky to survive virtually unscathed. However, the damage done is still done, and his kidneys are actually doing a little worse now than they were. We had a very wet, rainy, and soggy ride back in which he got out of his carrier and hid under the passenger seat of my roommate's van.
Hello, everyone, it's my 1700'th post, so I figured that coming in here and saying hello would be a good way to do that
@Ethersphere: I started to look at the debate threads occasionally... sometimes it's an uncomfortable place just due to the people there who let fierce emotions cloud their posts, but the fear to sound stupid is actually more likely to make you sound that way If you relax, I have a feeling you would be able to demonstrate your wisdom without too much need to fear.
Congrats on finishing your paper, Omna... Just one more thing out of the way now Plenty of stuff still to do today, it seems, but it will be ok, at least your actual birthday gift is on its way and what ended up showing up is now on its way back :/
@Those who recently got their SAT scores back: I hope that you guys did well
@Stuff: I loved what your deck could do
@ Yukora: Well, I'm sorry about how it turned out... I still wonder where she even got that impression? Sex didn't seem ultra high on your list in previous circumstances either, but maybe that's from the perspective of what you have written from here only... Either way, it's too bad... due to how things have gone, you probably can't even be friends with her. D'oh... :/
@Itinerant: I hope that you will be friends through all of this... even if it means eventually.
@Charm Master: Congrats on regular of the week A sign that you have been well accepted here!
@Nerdy things to say/think: That's kind of my life story
@KK: Well, I'm glad at least that it overall went well... You don't sound at all like a scary person, so perhaps it wasn't really necessary... that's a shame about the girl kind of steering clear
I also wish luck to the people going to champs
EDIT: In other news, I feel really tired, so I hope that this post was for the most part comprehensive, and I apologize for missing anyone.
YAUS!! No more standardized testing for Joe!!!! WHOOO!! Yeah baby!
*Ahem*
I just finished taking my ACT like 30 minutes ago. It is such a good feeling to not have to do that crap anymore.
Oddly enough, I breezed through it, aside from the Science section. Damn you science! *Shakes fist angrily*
It was much, much easier than I remember it being.

Well i am probably going to stay home as well since i have a full time job and I just don't have the money and also the time anymore for any competitive magic format even though just a couple of years ago ive spend everyday on legacy. Of course i had alot more free time back then and also the money since i had a part time job and while i was in college i had a huge amount of free time.
I mean i will still buy booster packs and play casual with either alacar or any of my friends. Alacar is probably the most innovative casual player i played against so far. I mean ach hans is just a really fun deck and it has alot more jazz to it when you actually play the deck as opposed to just take one glance at the deck list.
Well i am going to get ready for work in like an hour from now just wanted to stop by and say hello. Have a good one everyone and goodluck at champs to the players that are going.
Nai-- Sorry about Starbucks. Good luck with getting a job.
Charm Master-- Congratulations on regular of the week!
Satriani-- Awesome. I felt the same way when leaving the room after my ACTs. Hope you obliterated it.
Omna-- Congratulations on finishing your paper.
Good luck to everyone in Champs and/or States!
I am currently home for the weekend, which means I will play as much Magic as I can with as many friends as I can get together for as long as I can over the next two days. That and Lorwyn draft. My two drafts went pretty well, the first draft I got a U/w/r merfolk control-style deck with Judge of Currents, Drowner of Secrets, some faeries and a Mistbind Clique, and two Tarfire. I win my first match with a turn two judge and a turn three drowner game one, then game two, turn three Pestermite and turn four Clique, then beat from there. Second match I lost to a pretty good G/B Elves with a lot of removal. Second draft I get a B/r Goblins/Elementals deck with three Hornet Harasser, two Warren Pilferers, two Smokebraider, and a Nova Chaser. I get slaughtered by my friend playing a merfolk deck I wish I had last time. Three judges, two Merrow Reejerey, two Summon the School, and tons of synergy. Each game, turn one Tideshaper Mystic, turn two Silvergill Adept, turn three three-drop, turn four Summon the School. I died soon after. It was fun drafting Lorwyn, but I haven't yet gotten used to drafting tribes rather than colors.
i was 3-0 when i lose game 3 to a goblins deck who topdecks 2 fodder launchers in a row
then round 5, i have to play PAUL CHEON, last year US Nats Champ, and of course he topdecks insanely game 3 like you have no idea and i lost.
this made me rethink magic in its entirety, and i think im gunna sell all my rl stuff and only go mtgo, because i wont play any irl mtg next year, and i dont know if i will in college at all.
FLCL, sorry to hear about your champs results but don't give up your RL cards just yet. at the very least keep the cards that will be EXT legal during rock block. you WILL find a magic club at the school you go to, and you WILL find a card shop within a reasonable distance to the campus. My school has only around 1500-2000 students, and we have a strong magic club going. If a tiny school like mine can support it, I'd be very suprised if the college you go to doesn't have one.
