Call me old fashioned, but an evil ascension to power just isn't the same without someone chanting faux Latin in the background.

That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
Blah. I decide to take a small vacation from the site, and before I know it, it's been four days since I've posted. Well, I'm back, anyway. I'm glad to see the forum awards are over - and it looks like quite a few people came away with a trophy or two as well. Good stuff.
So today, finding myself not able to mentally conscience working yet again this Sunday, I have called off and am spending a large part of the day looking for other employment. I've just been frazzled with some of the new inbound programs we've had to do (and the sheer volume of them - good grief!). *cough* *ahem* I don't ever want to talk about heaters or coins again, and yet they want people (me included) to start working full-time for the next three weeks due to the sheer volume of calls we are getting. We've already had one person break down, literally in tears in the middle of the call center, asking to be taken out of the workgroup because she couldn't take it anymore. That's how bad it is.
One thing I'm very excited about on this computer, that Mr. Stuff can probably relate to, is that I think I finally have a DVD burner. I previously only had a CD burner, so it would take 13+ CDs to archive an anime series. Now, with DVDs, it might take 1-2. Plus, this thing has a laser burner to add a label, as opposed to me having to do it myself. Hooray!
Good for you! I don't know what I'd do without my DVD burner. I have at least 200 burned at present and I add a couple more every week or so. One of the only things on my Christmas wishlist right now is more blank Dual-Layer DVD+Rs. Dual-Layers are expensive, and I've only ever purchased three, but when you need to store Blu-Ray movies that are a single 4.8GB file, not much else works. They're handy for storing larger series without having to break them up over two disks as well, and they save on storage space. Anyway, happy fansubbing.
I think we have enough bannermakers in the 'House, or at least, artistically inclined personalities, to where it might be fun to make a CoffeeHouse banner contest!! Its a bit early to say for the 2 year anniversary (in April), but what do you guys think of that?? Not trying to steal your thunder Zaphod, just thinking about the other people in the 'House and wondering what we can all come up with...
Hrmm... Interesting idea. I'm honestly not sure what should go on the banner, but I find the idea of making one intriguing.
And now I'm still craving stuffed fried mushrooms.
Well, yeah! Stuffed mushrooms are one of the best culinary creations ever, right next to stuffed flounder or other seafoods in my book. I still remember fondly my 21st birthday, when I had rock-lobster tails with sauteed mushrooms - now that was awesome.
Btw Stuff, have you heard of the anime/manga Read or Dream? I was looking for Read or Die once and that was R.O.D. too..... have you read it or heard of it at all?
Read or Dream is the name of the manga that goes with the TV show (with the three paper sisters Anita, Maggie, and Michelle), rather than the OVA (featuring Yomiko most prominently). Why they changed the title, I'm not really sure, but "Read or Dream" is just the name of the manga for the TV series, and technically what the R.O.D. in the TV series' name stands for.
So, other than avoiding work and sleeping, a lot of what I've been doing has consisted of catching up on anime series I needed to catch up on. I finished the last four episodes of Black Lagoon finally, and watched all of Demon Prince Enma, which earned a solid "meh". I spent most of last night marathoning Key: The Metal Idol, which turned out to be a whole lot more awesome than I ever thought it would be. It's not the pop-idol fest that seems to be set up by the description, but rather a classic old violent, gritty early 90's style mystery/sci-fi that reminds me a lot visually and content-wise of "The Terminator" and other old action films. It's really pretty nifty that way.
The AotW that was supposed to be up a few days ago will be coming later today. I want to do some job searching first, though.

I'm considering going to the personal writing forum, entering the big SSC contest perhaps, maybe posting a thread of short stories/poems there, who knows? But I have trouble writing if I don't have a plan for the results.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
The year is 1614, and the country is Japan. Tokugawa Iieasu, the emperor, is faced with a dillema: he can't decide which of his sons should inherit his position after his death. After thinking for about, oh, 20 seconds or so, he realizes that he controls two powerful ninja clans that hate each other. "Why", he says to himself, "I'll just have them each take the side of one of my sons, and then fight each other to the death in one giant display of killing prowess. That oughta solve things". Having thought that, he promptly returns to pleasuring his mistress and doing other emperorly things. And so, Basilisk is born.
Joking aside, there's not a whole lot of deep plot to Basilisk, but that's not the point. The point is, this is Naruto minus the filler, the shounen, cut down to 24 episodes, and made for adults instead of kids. This is real ninjas, the kind that throw steel needles through peoples heads, deflect bullets with swords, and make love to beautiful women, all before breakfast. If you've ever seen Ninja Scroll, well, you've got the right idea. The premise of the show lies in the infamous Iga/Kouga matchup, and the stipulation that whoever kills the ten members of the other team first "wins". When every episode is just about an all-out ninja skills showdown, with some of the most ridiculous power exhibitions and freakish characters this side of Ninja Scroll, not a whole lot else matters.
There is even a fair comparison here to Black Lagoon - this is all about being awesome, and not a whole lot else. If you dig ninjas killing each other and everything around them by way of freakish and amazing powers, and a little bit of sex on the side to spice things up, you've come to the right place. Heck, there's even a guy that kills stuff with his hair (see picture below). The fact that shows like this exist reassures me, if I ever am tempted, that I really don't have a reason to watch Naruto. This is what a good ninja anime should be like. Not a whole lot of plot, but more than enough quality I-defy-all-laws-of-physics-while-slicing-you-into-ten-pieces action to make up for it.
hello everyone don't be alarmed this is kevin lol. I just told Lesurgo to change my name to Cecilia but i am still kevin.
Thanks very much for the congrats for the reward that was a pretty tough uphill battle but I am glad i won it. I would like to so thank you to all that voted for me. But I think being nominated once for best legacy strategist is good enough for me.
Good morning, good morning... Its currently 4:08am, and I haven't gone to bed yet, due to my doing some stuff for the guy that I may or may not end up working for, so I'm kind of excited cuz this is a possibility of a position, which I'm really excited about..
http://www.iwritemarketing.com <-- that's the site of the place I might be working, if you guys want to check it out Its a small one-man company right now, but which is expanding, which may include me as the president's general/personal assistant and a project manager/organizer in the overall organization.. There's one catch about it though, which is that it is in Rochester, which is where i just finished school, and the workplace is immediately behind the campus...which is good in that i get to see my friends who didn't graduate.. plus I'm familiar with the area, but bad in that I wanted to see something brand new, but at the same time, something brand-new might not always be the best idea, because having some degree of familiarity and people around to help me, would help me to learn the ropes of living on my own.. but at the same time, I really really dont' want to depend on people....
Also.....the catch is.... the fact that its in Rochester, is that Ryan is still attending school there... so there's a chance I might see him around campus or might be tempted to see him.. or...just... blah... I don't know, having space was the idea, but at the same time, if the opportunity and the job, draws me to Rochester, I won't turn it down, but it makes me hella nervous cuz the whole point of Ryan and I splitting is to give us some real space to be alone, and for him to date other people without fear... On the one hand, its a great way to show him that I can live on my own, that i can be independent from him, having a job and stuff.. at the same time, its a little nervewracking. Sorry for rambling about this, I guess I just was wondering what you guys thought of this. I'm especially sorry to Alacar, cuz I've talked his ear off about this stuff enough already
But anyway.. that's what's new with me, in that front... I also have a job interview on Thursday, on AIM with Bender Consulting Services who are the people who are considering me for the job in Washington D.C... so there's that, here's hopin'!
In other news, this will be my last post on the Coffeehouse for a couple days, because I will be packing tomorrow, and travelling all day on Tuesday, home to Oregon, arriving at 10:40pm Pacific Standard Time (which would be 1:40am Eastern Standard Time, for a lot of you guys)...
So, next time y'all see me, I'll be in Oregon.. expect a looong catchup post, especially if enough of you guys comment with thoughts about what I was talkin' about
Name of band: L'arc~an~Ciel Type of Music: J-Rock Members of the band: Hyde-Vocals, Guitar Tetsu-Bass, backing vocals Ken-Lead guitar- backing vocals Yukihiro-Drums L’arc-en-Ciel, meaning ‘ arc in the sky,’ is a popular Japanese rock-band formed in 1991. The first album the band released was Dune under the label “Danger Crue.” Their first album rose to the top of the charts becoming quickly one of the number albums in japan.
During the years 1999-2001 L~arc~en~Ciel seemed to disappear off the map mostly due to the breaking up of the band. Once the band deicded to go back togther in 2003, there were rumors abuz about a new album to be released by the band. The band did release their first new album in 4 years along with their hit single 'Ready, Steady, Go!'
In the year 2004 the band released their first hit single ‘Ready, Steady Go!’ which you might know as the theme song for the popular anime ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ This rose the band from the dead and revived there popularity in the 21st century. It also ensued a large popularity rating in the USA becoming a surprisingly popular band among anime fans. There latest album is ‘Kiss’ which they plan to take on tour in Japan and the USA sometime soon. They have also made singles for popular animes as well, such as Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Guardian of the Sacred spirit. There a great band that deserves the hits they've made
Allin, you may want to run your posts like that through a spell checker before you release them to the public.
Well, after playing an extensive game of Civilization 4 (no expansions so far), I think that's going to be my next review. Yes, I'm doing a lot of them, but, then again, I'm also doing a lot of gaming lately.
Allin: "L'arc-en-ceil" is the french word for "rainbow". thought you should know...
I'm hoping I get my player rewards cards soon...

@Stuff: Nice AoTW!
Hi to tanthalas lurkin!
hello hunter44 oh im probably not going to use my cecilia lynne adlehyde account anymore. I just want to use this one since i have more posts on it.
anyway i just wanted to say good morning to everyone or night. Probably going to go for a little while ill be back later though have a great day or night everyone.
by the way i am going to try to get up another legacy of the week later today since i actualy have time today just been so busy lately with work.
Okay, so is this a name change for the original kevinliunumbers account? Or a merged account?
I needs to know so I can search up legacy decks you've posted.
Also, this is my Sunday. I'm enjoying it sitting back and listening to a little classical music and thinking about going for a bit of Xmas shopping. What do you get for the person who hates cats and only knows you through arguments about your cats? (My ex flatmate...I think the cat drove him out.)

it is just a name change account from kevinliu2333 to cecilia thats all it is. oh my starr demands to see my legacy decks just kidding.
By the way congrats on your most helpful member award starr it was definetly a award that you deserved. Well ill be back later see you all later.
Hrm. If I were you, I'd get one of those pet joke books. One that rails on cats would be choice.
Anyone here play Civilization 4, by chance? I want to get in a semi-competitive game to learn some good strategies, but I can't find a good game at all. All are 'no noobs' and, I'm afraid, though my computer smashing skills are excellent, I'm a newbie to the game.
Oh dear, I'm still laughing at the idea of getting him a cat scarf. He's supposedly deadly allergic to them, but I suspect it's more of a phobia thing. I don't want him to die, he's an ok guy but a little freaked out.
And no puppies, either.
I wanted to see a particular list you posted a while back ceci, not demanding anything right now, too lazy to build new decks anyway :/

oh okay do you know what the deck is called? I was also teasing about the demanding decks part too. Ill be happy to bring up any deck though but if not right now thats fine too.:) Wow deadly allergic to cats that sounds awful.

Seriously, get him/her one of those scarves (assuming you're in a cold state) that look like they're made of cat hair.
Anyone here play Civilization 4, by chance? I want to get in a semi-competitive game to learn some good strategies, but I can't find a good game at all. All are 'no noobs' and, I'm afraid, though my computer smashing skills are excellent, I'm a newbie to the game.
My helpdesk should you need me.
Anyway I am glad i have a day off today and tommorrow so i finally get to relax and catchup on some video gaming.
Love,
Cecilia
