Our Motto:
Intelligence with style.
[VOGUE] grew from the ideas of a friend of mine. Originally it was formed based on her wants and desires, but a clan is about its members and not its leader. We all love and miss her and wish her the best, but we must go our own way. We keep the original name out of respect for its creator.
We will maintain many of her ideals simply because we believe in them:
1) Respect: Respect all who post on this thread. You may not agree with what others say, but we do not attack people or treat them like trash. Obviously we cannot please everyone. To quote Hemmingway: "If I'm not pissing someone off, I'm doing something wrong." Respect ourselves as well, if you have no respect for yourself, you have no respect for nobody.
2) Acceptance: Goes hand in hand with the previous. We are a diverse bunch. We are here because the members of the clan accept us for whom we are, and as such we should accept in return.
Those are the big two. With those, everything else falls into place very easily.
The most well known use of the word is the fashion magazine. When I suggested the name originally, it was in response to Tneil's interest in Fashion and Modelling.
Vogue is also the name of three different songs which are each performed by three of my favorite performers:
1) Madonna:
Probably the most well known song by this title. Inspired a style of dance.
2) KMFDM: This band is the heart of the industrial movement in music.
While industrial existed before them by decades, this band was the turning point.
3) Ayumi Hamasaki:
Easily my favorite female performer. She started as an easily forgettable Idol singer, but proved she was better than that.
As mentioned, Vogue is also a style of dance. The current Clan title refers to the end boss of Bust a Move/Bust a Groove...a Giant Vogueing Evil Robot.
As we see, the word Vogue is not as narrow as it seems at first. As with our clan, there is alot of variety inherint to the word.

We will have to wait and see if he is fine with it then.
You are def entitled to your own opinion. Though I imagine once you realized Photon was gay and you already liked him as a person that you realized your postion was kinda silly.
I would wager alot of the members here are not very straight to say the least. Being homophobic as a friend to VOGUE does not work too well.
I was going to wait to see if he accepted Diggy's apology, but you are right. I hate having him off our friends list actually, he is one of my favorite people on this forum.
Nah, it's fine, you can keep me on. I overreacted a bit- I know that most of the group doesn't echo that sentiment.
@Diggy: Opinions are one thing. Believe it or not, I already sort of expect straight people to not be all that enticed by the idea of transgender or gay sex- and that's sort of fine. Personally, I find the idea of heterosexual sex to be gross, but that's just my preference, so I don't really care if you yourself aren't about to jump headfirst into the man on man loving anytime soon. That's fine, really.
But it's not about the opinion, it's about the attitude behind it. Would you like it if I said "Oh, Diggy, I find you repellent and I feel that you are an abomination of nature. That's just my opinion though"? I'm guessing most wouldn't. It's a tired response. I've had too many people be all "Oh, you and what you hold dear is disgusting to me. It's just my opinion." That's crap, frankly. The fact that it is your opinion doesn't change the fact that it is narrow minded and hurtful to say. Additionally, who cares if you were raised that way? You yourself claim you've been exposed to other perspectives on the issue, and you are old enough to formulate your own takes on things. People aren't slaves to their upbringing- blaming how you were raised is just an easy excuse for one to forfeit any feeling of responsibility on their own insecurities and biases.
Furthermore, topping it all off with blaring double standard just sweetens the pot really. I can accept your apology in that I realize you weren't trying to be offensive to anyone, but I don't accept your attitude on the matter at all. I myself, while irritated, can usually shrug this off, but there are other people in this clan who are gay or transgendered who may or may not take it as well, so it would probably be better for you to be more careful with your choice of words.
On the topic of vanilla: I love the scent- it's a bit of an aphrodisiac for me, personally. I don't mean I get all hot and bothered if someone starts baking with the vanilla extract, but vanilla notes in colognes and fragrances is sexy to me, particularly they combine with the male body chemistry.
Speaking of fragrances, is anyone else here a fan of Black Phoenix Alchemy Laboratory?

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
Well I am glad that worked out and that Photon is back.
Thank you to both of you for being open and mature on this.
Where did the "topic of vanilla" come from? Sometimes I find it a bit of a turn on as well. It is a very relaxing scent.
Discussion Topics
1)Fashion
2)What the scent of sweet vanilla makes you feel like
3)Bad Habbits
4)What happened last night?
5)Celebrity talk/gossip
6)RANDOMNESS!!!!!!
That's where it came from.
So, no one for BPAL, then? That's a shame.
Another scent I really like is the scent of black pepper, myself. Not in the same way I like vanilla, but I really just enjoy the scent. I love using my pepper grinder, because all the essential oils get released, and I get to smell them when they are at their strongest.

We bought some oils a few weeks back, a really nice one we got was Roasted Marshmallows. It is evaporated over a candle on a special tray. Makes the house smell so nice.
The smell of vanilla makes me a little bit sick and gives me goosebumps (the food, but I have a feeling were talking about candles, but if it smells like the food likely I'll have the same reaction).
Then again, I hate scents in general. Car freshener makes me puke, perfumes make me gag, and so on. About the only thing I can stand is a light cologne. Scented candles? Not if I can help it. Even food can be difficult -- chinese cooking will make me teary-eyed (consequently, when I cook people complain its bland). I guess overly sensitive to scents. I can smell anything well before anyone in the house can.
Kinda annoys my mother, too, because from where I sit I can see well over 50 bottles of perfume, only a few of which she can use without us having an argument.
There is a heading of a group of scents named Sephiroth.
Oh, LOL.
That's named after THE Sephiroth, which is a bit much to explain casually. The character Sephiroth is named (somewhat arbitrarily) after the concept of the Sephiroth from the Kabbalah.

I've never been that big into specific scents personally. If I like a scent I'll buy it but that is it.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound condescending, I honestly thought that you thought the scents were inspired by Sephiroth.
Although, the situation you have described would only be the case if you are trying to woo a 17 year old male nerd. (or very possibly a 17 year old girl from fanfiction.net)

Putting a new banner up...Tneils is awesome but dont want to leach.
"Hey baby- you wanna get with a man who smells like a man who looks like a woman?"
I think I may have said the exact same thing when Green Arrow was hanging around Debate!
