@Arguas : You misunderstand I think. It is all well to be accepted socially as a woman. To people say "she" and use my fem name and such. This is awesome. But to be viewed sexually as a woman is beyond exilerating and completely freeing. To have someone view me as a woman sexually and be arroused by me as a woman is the ultimate success and the ultimate in fulfilment. Tonnes of people know and see me as a good person, and many can accept I am a woman...but just because some guy accepts me as a woman does not mean that they can accept me in their bed. Because of this, I always am incomplete. How can one truly accept me as a woman if they also can accept my female sexual presense and needs?

I think it's a little unfair to say that because someone doesn't want to hop into bed with you that they haven't "truly accepted you as a woman". You have to consider their sexual needs and interests, too, and even cisgendered women are going to encounter men that won't be into them for any variety of reasons both physical and mental. I can understand the feeling, though- it's one thing to pay the lip service to the idea of who you really are, but another to have someone be accepting of the practical applications of your identity.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
True Photon. Regardless of anything, not everyone will want to do me regardless of whether or not im a natural woman. I mean it is important that when people desire me, they desire me as woman.
Well, Sakura, sexual attraction is part of a loving relationship. I suppose I can understand the want to be physically desired... especially since you are transgender. As a result, I suppose that means more than I can fathom, but I can't help but feel that you will still be incomplete unless the person who wants you physically also wants you for you.
currently im working on the limited rating in 2 weeks ive bourght if ufrom 1530 to 1730
Pretty much the same thing here. i was on slotster (my original account) for a long time, then transferred to scooterheim for some, personal reasons. so now i have to work on scooterheim.

Yes definately, that is a given. I wouldn't be with someone that didn't actually want and respect me, I am not an object.
But in passing, it is nice to be objectified sometimes. PCness has taught us it is a no no, and can be bad in extremes...but this is overkill. It has its place.

I suppose it does in this society. My apologies for having difficulty for truly understanding it... Just based on the people I've seen, grown up around, and known, if I was a woman, I would want people to see my personality as the highlight about me... I guess I'd rather not stand out. I myself haven't really wanted to feel like someone had that kind of hunger towards me. Rather, throughout my life I've sought someone who could want to look past that and just be happy with me. Not in a gratification sense dominantly... I suppose just to be important in that person's eyes.
As a result, my apologies for having difficulty in that understanding. When I try to look through it through your lens, I can see that for someone to not only identify you with the gender that you feel that you are, AND to say that such a form is a desirable one basically beats down any flak you've probably gotten for your change, and probably just comforts you because you feel like you've achieved a bit of peace with your body. Obviously, it's hard to know all the details, but I am trying to see how you see it, and that's basically what I come up with. I am also trying to respect that as much as possible... I hope that I managed to achieve that sense, despite what I have from my own perspective.
Sexual compatability is as important as emotional and mental compatability in a relationship. This is true for everyone. This means in your case, that since sex is least important to you, that you need someone who has as limited a need and desire for it as you do.
I need someone who is intellectually equal, emotionally balanced and expressive, and also on par sexually with me. This also means that they must be sexually attracted to me as a woman...not as a man, not as a man in a skirt, not as a freak. This does cause a dilemma mind you since when I have sex I get off physically as a man since I have male genitalia. It means definately that that person for me needs to be very special.
@ep: congrats on the FNM finish! We should all do a draft here in the coffeehouse again sometime the last time i had fun pairing up against arguas wasn't something i looked forward to though.
@alacar: thanks alacar yeah i truely like the deck and my funkbrew partner says its a new age deck for the entire funk team and i was astonished to hear that. I just playtested against CRET belcher(which people on the source of legacy talk about it being one of the combo decks to beat while the other being the epic storm) again just one preboard and one postboard both me being on the draw and i ended up winning both times. Force of will in the opening hand was the way to go on game 1 and having engineered explosives and pyroclasms helped out alot against their turbo fast goblin tokens.
@mr. stuff: nice review on aotw!
@joyd: thanks for welcoming me back.
@Nai: ive always liked to play halo quite a bit i like the multiplayer co op in the game as well.
@arguas: Well i just wanted to experience with having about 3 angels and 2 rakavolvers but then i found out that 2 of each was enough for the deck since having one more angel seems like a win more then anything else. I have decided to go back with jotun grunts though having 3 of them in the sideboard seems efficient enough so there it is yeah just wanted to experient with some more cards. Not to mention exalted angels and engineered explosives gives you quite the upperhand against threshold from my testing anyway. Obviously this deck isnt able to beat everything but its capable of beating the most played decks in the format. But id rather have a good game against threshold then lets say reanimator since threshold has always been a top 8 contender in any legacy tournament and at every legacy tournament rather at least all of the big ones on the east coast that is.
See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses*
Love,
Cecilia
ceci for one I'd like to know if you keep an archive of all your featured LOTW decks. I'm putting together an anthology of decklists I've gotten from select online communities. Sort of a gauntlet of stuff to play with my fiance and friends that has more significance than just placing X/8 somewhere random. (It's always nice to say "I know the guy who build this").

That would be cool.
@ Kevin: So do you feel like it is largely an experimentation, that sideboard, and therefore is prone to change, or rather is it something that is solidly in place that offers a great deal of variety to handle different kinds of decks? Also, how has your job been going?
@Sakura: That indeed makes a great deal of sense. It indeed is a very narrow field, and I wish you a lot of luck in finding it. May you find your peace I'm glad that I did well on understanding, but whatever I don't understand about you, I can do my best in respecting. As long as it doesn't dominate the house

Yes actually thanks to alacar all of my legacy of the weeks are on the first page of this thread. Feel free to use any of my decks I am always greatful when people use my decks as well. Also welcome back starr its great to see you again how has life been treating you?
@ Kevin: So do you feel like it is largely an experimentation, that sideboard, and therefore is prone to change, or rather is it something that is solidly in place that offers a great deal of variety to handle different kinds of decks? Also, how has your job been going?
I wouldn't say its a large experimentation but having exalted angels and rakavolvers has won me games against threshold and goblins a good portion of the time. Although the white version of threshold as opposed to the red version of the same deck can be somewhat more difficult to play against mainly because they can name any of my removal with meddling mage and they play swords to plowshares which is much stronger versus my exalted angels and rakavolvers then lightning bolt and fire//ice any day of the week.
Also even if i was to use jotun grunts for grave-yard hate it wouldnt be too impressive mainly because by the time your able to upkeep their graveyard with grunt it could very much be too late. Not to mention grave-yard utility decks arent as nearly as played as threshold and goblins especially don't quote me on this though. Although legacy isnt a three or 4 deck format you probably could see literally anything at big legacy events. Although id rather have a better game against goblins and threshold then ichrorid or reanimator anyday of the week in my opinion since those decks are most likely what you will face in big tournaments. Also yes my job has been quite fine and i find it pretty fun to work at. :)However im happy to say that I had one of my friends looked at the patriot deck that i made and he says it looks pretty solid for legacy and he's a friend of mine that has been playing the format for awhile not to mention he placed 114th place out of 900 players at the last GP in columbus for legacy which is pretty good but yeah he plays the format all of the time and he's a pretty knowledgeable legacy player.

I spent most of last night on the phone with someone I met here on MTGS whom actually only lives a few hours away from me. Have not hit it off so well with someone like this in ages. So am kind of floating about and stuff now.
Alacar, did you add that banner for me?
I missed a few pages, I will dig backwards...

That's great news babe! I only wish we lived closer. I would definitely wanna hang out with you.

Yar Yar Yar...
Well, thanks for the comments. As for Flare Strength, I might change it to +0/+2, or +1/+1. I'm not above making Holy Strength obsolete, but I see your point.
On the Shandalar cards: I really just wanted to see if they could translate to real cards. The really only good on is Aswan Jaguar.
I've also been considering adding Morph to the set, since we're all about deception and trickery anyways.
I find it a bit annoying, but it can provide for some interesting variety. Rotating banners can be ok, but I tend to get attached to specific avatars. Maybe it's just me though... I've had this same avatar for most of my stay on MTGSal, thanks to Alacar
One of our old pictures actually featured a Super Smash Brothers character select based upon people's avatars. Most people you wouldn't recognize on that anymore, either due to them disappearing or their avatars changed. :pSometimes fads can dictate that though. And some fads have a way of sticking around
I remember that. Still have it. I could make a new one if we didn't have too many people.
First off, despite the gilsellers, I'm still amazed at how these worlds can actually emulate currency with inflation and whatnot. It is quite impressive what programmers who also have economic exposure can do
Whispers of the Heart really was one of those feel-good movies. I remember kind of enjoying this little love story, although it seemed a little overly simplistic at times. Unfortunately, I haven't seen too much else, but that in itself did kind of stand out to me.
By the way, hope that being a pirate for kids still turns out to be fun. I'd find it funny if a kid decided to be rebellious and dressed up as a ninja. Quite honestly, if the kid wanted to do it and I was the parent, I think that people would get a kick out of it, and might even have allowed it
I love that movie.. soooo much. It is the first Ghibli film that I saw, and it captured my heart. It's in the simplicity that you find beauty. It's no soap opera.
As for the pirates..
Today wasn't too bad.. I bought more DVD+Rs to burn, because apparently 15 (3 duds so far) isn't enough to clear my hard drives. I've still made major progress. As for the party, it was okay.. I looked pretty cool, for 4-year olds..
My nephew got a big haul of gifts though:
1) Cars movie toy car
2) Spider-Man bump n' go
3) Superman Walkie Talkies
4) Toy kitchen supplies
5) Clothes...
6) PotC Battle figurines (big ones)
7) A bicycle that you hook up to the TV and play video games on.
And my gift, a Cyber-Stompin' Optimus Prime, which I still say is the coolest present there next to #7.
Anyways, mom had asked my beard to grow out over the course of 2 weeks.. and now after a shower and a heavy trim it's down to normal.
Just in time, too--I'm going tomorrow to Sparta, TN to meet up with my long-distance girlfriend, Heather, and her mom. It's a dream come true...

Nice review nai, i loved the writing. i would have stop reading it half way through but it was well thought out and unlike most reviews, actually made sense to me.
Well, I fancy myself a writer, so I hope I keep your attention. And I try to write it from the viewpoint of a gamer, looking for what gamers want.
Oh, and Nai, if you want storyline in a FPS, look no further than the Half-Life series. It's dripping with plot. Not to mention Counter-Strike.
I find that Halo is a real "Love it or leave it" game. I think it is overhyped lately, but it is a good game. I speak as one of the players that played it before it became popular, and also played it before they played other games.
Yes, I've played HL2. Haven't played HL yet, but I'll get to it. Beat HL2, loved it. It's a good game. I like them both. I love co-op storyline modes, so that's one of my favorite bits about Halo.
@Nai: Halo. There isn't really much to say about Halo. Just that it is overhyped and overplayed. People don't even remember its story, just the fact that 'ZOMG its Halo!' I really hate that game so much.
I really dislike the Halo hate. I mean, I can understand where it's coming from, but it's really unwarranted. It would be like me saying Doom or Unreal Tournament or Half Life or Counter Strike or any else of those games are bad because they're overhyped. A game is not about hype. It's about fun. If you have fun, then it's a good game. Period.
Nai: Can't stand Halo. Dunno why and probably will never figure it out but I can't stand that game...
I know the game has its problems. It can be a bit glitchy, and it's not as refined as some other games. Still, it's a bit of a classic. Worth playing, methinks.
Everyone this is Devi, shes the girl I was chatting with on the phone all last night.
Welcome Devi!
Arguas: I'm still a bit frustrated with Starcraft, since I don't really know what I'm doing, how to do a strategy that doesn't end in me getting killed. I really just have to learn, and I need an environment where I'm not rushed within 10 seconds, y'know?
My ferret is so cute. She was running around, and my dog was growling and playing with her. The ferret ran around, jumping, twirling, making a mess. It was great.
I think I've figured out why I can't stand Halo (and its sequel... and probably also why a few others don't like it all that much either).
1) When you're used to a keyboard and mouse the console controls look fuggin ugly in comparison. True of any game really. But for FPS's this especially hit me hard. (and yes I know there's a PC version of Halo - but I played it on console first and it definitely is more famous on the Xbox than it is on the PC to my knowledge)
2) Its a game where you either mastered the game or you just didn't bother after a while. There's no casual "once-in-a-while" aspect to it whatsoever when playing in multiplayer. Halo (and Halo 2) parties often lead to me getting (and I can't believe I'm using this word) pwned 90% of the night thanks to other people's skill levels at the game being so much higher. To beat them you would often have to spend the time mastering the game - which just saps the fun out of it since I didn't have an X-box (nor bought it for the PC) and didn't really like it enough to begin with (though to be honest when I first played it I DID in fact like it).
Aspects I do like however: Being able to go on X-Box live and watch my friends (primarily 24 and 25 year olds) get totally pwned themselves against 7 and 8 year olds. The multiplayer of the game is indeed excellent when playing against people your own skill level and the two gun system is rather realistic and at the same time without its own strategy.
Edit: LOL Alacar! 80's Guitar Riff and corniness FTW!
Wow! I'm so glad I've been introduced to everyone by a recognized member of the community. I look forward to failing to meet your expectations with every last post <3!
I like Halo as a game that anyone can play. People who don't play videogames can do reasonably well at it in many settings. It's more like Mario Party in my mind than, say, Unreal Tournament. That said, even though I played Halo a moderate amount, I was always extremely terrible at it. This is not some kind of false modesty or hyperbole. For some reason when it comes to console FPS games, I just cannot control my character for the life of me. I'm always backing off cliffs and shooting rockets at the ground. I swear that if I don't press anything at all my character will look straight up, spin in a circle, and throw grenades like some kind of lovely grenade fountain.
Welcome, Miss Sparkles. Would you like to share a little about yourself?

80's Guitar Riff and corniness FTW!
strawberries, anyone?
Oh, and I'm back in Minnesota again.
