@ omna: i've probably moved more and had more change in my short life, tha most people have their entire lifetimes. i've come to embrace the new oppurtunities change can bring.

for collateral could i ever test my deck with the landbase+moxen i need? mws is sort of bad.
As everyone else has said, get used to it.. that's the way the CoffeeHouse runs..
As for me, I've been trying to get moving on my thesis all day, and I think I'm close to the point of actually motivating myself now..... Funny thing is, a very strict time-oriented schedule often works for me to get motivated.... Unfortunately I don't use that tool very often.... I feel more comfortable when there's absolute order... But at the same time, I'm extremely laid back and have quite a bit of clutter in my perosnal life... But when it comes to me feeling up to cleaning or organizing, or when I'm work, I'm extraordinarily meticulous... Funny thing is, I make fun of Ryan's parents for making a shopping grid for their groceries, when in actuality I might actually get something out of that kind of thing myself.... Not exactly the same stuff every week probably, but that kind of organization, i can see myself falling into someday.... Which is kind of scary
I must say that this is one of the deepest convo's I've seen since my return to the 'House. And if none of you mind, I will put in my two cents worth. (4 cents if my wisdom is foily)
I've never had a problem discussing my sexuality or what changes I wish to go through in my life, such as being bisexual; leaning towards gay 90% of the time; and wanting to go through hormone therapy so I can be more feminine, and if I truly feel better as such, becoming a transgendered person like Saki.
Truth be told I'm proud of who I am, but to all you young (younger than me at least) GLBT's out there. Don't let your sexuality dictate who you are. I know plenty of guys who live the "gay lifestyle" and it really bothers me that they call it that. I live a very "straight lifestyle". I'm active in sports and during the year I work construction and I do regular "guy stuff", but I also just happen to be very uncomfortable as a man.
.....That advice didn't come out as well as I had hoped.
@Danica: We're all afraid of change. The biggest test when it comes to change is your willingness to embrace what life hands you. Fact of the matter is, you know with every part of you that you will end out on top of it all. I believe in you. And I'll be here to talk if you ever need me.
I would if I could just find the darn time. Being master of puppets so to speak around here is a very time-consuming business. I couldn't possibly fit you in until Monday.
I must say that outfit IS rather classy.. I personally wouldn't mind having that outfit either... its not too revealing yet feminine and classic... I'm definitely more a fan of the classic style of dress
..well, classic with a dash of nerdy
Status report: working on my thesis now, about to figure out some parts that need to be adjusted in my analysis sheet of the two films... (Toy Story and Brave Little Toaster) ... I would like to ask again if anyone remembers these movies, and if they have any cool stories or anything to share, just for general knowledge.. Me personally I loved Brave Little Toaster, and enjoyed Toy Story
@Transformers Movie (yes I know I'm a few pages behind but still): The whole thing was overdone. The action was fast, SFX were great, the dialouge was awful, the plot needed work, characters didn't develop at all, OP sounded like an 80's talkbox. Ya know the standard blockbuster stuff. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate blockbuster cheese and mistakes with a project such as this, but oh my gentle Jesus this made Snakes on a Plane look like it had riveting plot and dialouge; which is actually what I liked about SoaP, the utter awfulness of it. I much prefer the original Transformers.
An observation/question from working with americans on the phone ; why do women with Southern Accents generally sound classy and sexy whereas men always sound mentally deficient.
Don't let that fool you; class is a rare and precious thing here in the south.
And don't worry, I have nothing against gays or bi. Considering I do find some men attractive, I shouldn't, should I?
Dude, I'm totally straight and I find men handsome and attractive at times. It's normal. It makes you human and not afraid of exploring your sexuality.
such as Alacar hitting 6,900 was a big deal.... and me 1,900... But sure, you can have a for 500
But splitting's not gonna happen for a while, things are going really well with us, and I'm going to be visiting him the last 2 weeks of August, so I'm excited for that
1st off, whew, you had me scared there for a second, but I'm glad you're not splitting. Second.. hitting 6,900 was not too much of a big deal for me. Hitting 7,000 will be a bigger deal, but even so it's just a number and a slight testament to how much MTGS means to me.
As far as fearing change goes.. Well, I've lived my whole life as an Army brat, which meant we moved a lot. Best example would be moving to the south. We lived in upstate New York for 5 years, which was the best place ever we ever lived in. Seriously. Then we moved down to the sweltering center of the Bible belt, with no neighbors but an all-white Baptist church and a highway, going to a uniformed school with backwards education and bigoted people all over the place.
Needless to say, I hated the place. All of it. All of us did. It was a rough change, having to draw into a personal shell. We ached for any creative release, but we had to do it. And now in retrospect, living in that hellhole of a town has only made me a better person.
Oh, and off topic: I am hating the new layout. It doesn't feel like MTGS. And I miss the Samurai Angel

I adore Brave Little Toaster. I've got plenty of memories about that movie. I'll send them in a PM if you want. I don't really recall Toy Story memories. Most of my memories of that movie are actually about the Sega game based on the movie.
@AL: Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen the original Transformers?
heh.. nah we're not splitting right now.. we will for a while, later in November or so, but not right now
What was so awesome about upstate NY? Where exactly did you live anyway? Since we're going to school in Rochester, as you know
And about the new layout... Ehh.... It doesn't feel nearly as convenient as the old one used to be... and what happened to your logging in going straight to your User CP? Now you gotta go and click on User CP in order to get to it? Its a little annoying, but the design itself I like... but the efficiency of the front page seems to have gone down... I could be wrong tho.
EDIT: PM away, Evan! Or if you want, I'm sure nobody would mind discussing it in here..Depends on how many people remember the movie
Oh yeah, I love Brave Little Toaster. I watched it all the time when I was kid. Love that you're doing a thesis on it Omna.
And yes, Evan, I have seen all 4 seasons of the original cartoon, and the movie, and I loved it, even though it was 25% toy commercial, 25% cheese, and 50% decent cartoon.
ninjedit: And we lived in Fort Drum, up north of Syracuse, near Watertown, next to the 1000 Islands.
I would if I could just find the darn time. Being master of puppets so to speak around here is a very time-consuming business. I couldn't possibly fit you in until Monday.
This one is too easy, and if I reply Im likely to get banned
LOL I love how you talk in percentages sometimes, Ally
What was your fave part of Brave Little Toaster (BLT) to anyone who saw it??
EDIT: I personally like how they have the Lorwyn Spoiler numbered up on the main bar now.... now i can just glance to see if any new cards have been put up...
About BLT for me... I'd have to say that my fave part is the song "City of Lights", its just... like such an awesome song... (hence why I chose it for my Geek Mp3!) ...well either that or the part with the blanket and the lamp in the stormy forest
@Danica: I will post my memories later tonight, cept this one. My favorite part of the movie is where they sing the monster-y type song in the used parts store. Least favorite part is where the AC unit goes all crazy. It still scares me today.
@AL: I agree, but that's what made the cartoon so great. All the good cheese.
@Saki: Good call.
I don't like the layout either. Reminds me of News too much.

Those are actually my favorite and least favorite parts, as well. Also, I like the ending in which he gets all the appliances back and you feel all warm and everything until you realize that you like, threw out your old clock radio and then you feel bad and cry. That movie is a masterpiece of consumer guilt.

OMG!! What a crazy coincedence. It also helps that that song is the best one in the movie. The movie is actually the reason I still have the same clock radio from when I was 4!
Lol... The clown dream always scared me.... The B Movie part was freaky too....... I liked how the vaccuum saved 'em on the waterfall even after he choked on his cord....
EDIT: Lol.. I've always had a fondness for old swivelneck lamps like Lampy cuz of that movie... I don't know, Tutti-Frutti was kind of a fun song in the beginning.... There were a lot of good songs in that movie... what'd you guys think of the ending part.... "Worthless".... if you listen to that song NOW when you're older, you realize just how depressing that song was.... but I never realized it as a kid!

1) Thanks?
2) Probably just the thought of it. I have many old childhood toys (and a blanket even) that I hold dear, and the thought of them coming to look for me is just heartwarming.
3) They had the Lorwyn spoiler up there before, silly. Just not the numbers.
And if you liked the cheese, then why didn't you like the cheese in the new movie? Too many humans, not enough robots? :ohreally:
I know right!
No the problem was that it was the wrong kind of cheese. It was cheese that was trying to be serious, whereas the cartoon embraced its cheese and let it take hold. Could you imagine how bad ATHFCMFFT would've been if it tried to be serious instead of embracing its cheese?
I was thinking of checking out Laser hair removal next paycheque. Not sure the prices and such, and I promised Alababes some money (I don't usually pay for it, but he promised to stop the crack)..but I am going to look into it. I have decided the big thing self image wise for me is my facial hair. Once I get some headway there I will feel alot more free and able to dress more femme (dresses for instance)
Well.. ya gotta give it some slack, it was trying to be subtle in its cheese--the mainstream would not have found the cheese adorable in a 2 hour movie, as compared to just seeing bits of it in half-hour bits each Saturday morning. It was a conscious decision, I'd say.
edits: ATHF wasn't cheesy, it was irreverent. Different kind of cartoon and cheese from the beginning, Kaylei.
ninjedit: Well, it's alright babes. Go for the lazers first, then pay me. My credit card statement isn't coming for like 2 more weeks.
