Mistform Ultimus is far from the worst legendary creature. Simply by being a 3/3 for 4, it's far more efficient than a large portion of the legends in Legends (though to be fair, Legends is the worst set ever by an incredible margin, and the Legends are the worst part of Legends.) The fact that it has an ability that is sort of kind of interesting is just gravy on top.

I've been looking for a dual-audio version of GITS: SAC 2nd GIG, but I can't find one..
Also, I have to say--Locket of Yesterdays has GOT to have the most tragic flavor text I've ever read.
Yo, Mike! I think I have a few Logic Knots. Still got them Teferis?
I'm not about to murk through a mass of cards for an example, but I'm sure there are some flavor texts that are probably more poignant than that, although it has certain sad sentiment to it.

Quick question here: Anyone around here interested in Academy/Gauntlet/Discord draft on Netdraft? I'm working on making a ND patch of Academy now, and I wanna know in case I'm wasting my time.
I definitely think that the Ultimus is top 5 worst legends. I agree that Tobias and Jasmine Boreal are worse, but Kentaro? Nahh. That guy was actually marginally useful in Samurai decks. The deck sucked, but he was still good in it.

Ironically, Legends also had the most broken counterspell (Mana Drain) and the most confusing card ever (Chains of Mephistopheles). So it was poor for its namesakes but almost too good at everything else...
I should qualify "Worst"; the set was the worst put together and worst designed; it has a handful of power cards. Some things you can't fault it for; it doesn't draft well at all, but they didn't have limited at the time. Some things you can fault it for - I can't imagine that even a cursory amount of testing wouldn't have shown most of the legend creatures, the feature of the set, to be horrifyingly bad. (Even if X mana bought a different amount of creature back then, they're still obviously inferior - in many cases strictly so - to other creatures in print at the time.)
Prior to maybe Onslaught, "Legend" didn't mean much. Some Legendary creatures were cool and had a little extra power; many didn't. Some did something unique, and some were just story characters whose cards were legendary solely because they happened to represent a character. If we're picking bad legendary creatures, however, my vote goes to General Jarkeld. Many people think that Sorrow's Path is a bad card because it has an outrageous drawback, or because not only does it have an outrageous drawback, but one that directly obviates the beneficial effect. These opinions are, of course, true. But that's not the only reason that Sorrow's Path is bad. The effect on Sorrow's Path is one of the most completely and thoroughly useless in the entire game even without the stupid drawback. It looks pretty dang narrow on the surface, but is actually much, much more useless than it looks. General Jarkeld has a slightly better version of the ability, but is still violently bad. Empress Galina is also a good contender, although she's situationally incredibly strong. Shimatsu the Bloodcloaked is a good example of a recent terrible legend. The difference with the last two is that you can imagine doing -something- with them. (Leyline of Singularity?) You could probably imagine doing something with Jarkeld, but your imagination would be wrong on account of how you do not realize just how terrible that ability is. Many of the legends legends have -nothing- to recommend them, being just flat-out obsoleted by so many other cards.
Its kinda sad, the defense didnt go that well, I sucked, I have alot of revisions to do and Im only given 2 weeks to do the suggestions in the comment sheet. The results will be posted on Monday. The best thing that could happen is that my status will be "Approved with major revisions"..I hope Itll not get disapproved..
Im so sad and Im thinkin alot right now..Ive got so many things to do..Maybe Ill not be here that often for the next two weeks..Unlucky me...
You know.. what with all the Life from the Loam decks out there these days, it's surprising that the supposed "lamest" card in Magic, Mudhole, isn't being used these days.

This is a pretty absurd question, but I can answer pretty easily; Hogan Bros., a local (very cheap) sandwich shop has really great hummus subs. That's the best sandwich I've ever eaten.
Sorry about your defense Hunter. Maybe it went better than you thought. You might be a little too hard on yourself.
Btw, I just finished my SAT retake, and Fooly should be done soon too (Colorado-New York time difference). God I hate that test. I think that I have an expansive vocabulary, but some of those sentence completions were still hard. For those of you who haven't taken the test in a while, the vocab gets progressively harder in the Critical Reading section, usually starting with a word like variety or urban, and ending with something like capricious or avuncular (they love that word for some reason). Today, the first section began with conjecture and verisimilitude. Guess how it went from there? I know what both of those mean by the way, but still. C'mon.

I got really good english scores, but horrible math scores, so i ended up not even breaking 1000... -_-
I am smart, I swear, I just am NOT good at math!
Anyway, I'm struggling with working on my essay exam for Black Writers Today.. I need to compare and contrast the philosophies of Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, and Marcus Garvey.... I've been reviewing the text, so that I can properly cite stuff from the book to support my examples, and I've been doing this for the past 3 1/2 hours, so I'm going a little nuts... and this is only the first essay question!! There's five! -_-
Oy... my goal though is to finish this exam today, so that I can put it aside, and finish up my senior thesis and study all day tmw for my other test on Monday...
Ugh I hate how long this is taking me.. I always HATE starting up on stuff, because my brain always kind of locks down and freezes, even if I am in the mood to do it, and want to do it.. I just... gahhhh!
Sorry for the venting, I'm just a little frustrated and i needed to do something so that I could refresh myself a little bit before I can begin writing... the average response really only needs to be about 750 words, but still, I want to support my points and really do wlel, which is why I'm trying to make sure i have all my notes properly organized and stuff...
And at this point I'm supposed to go to a birthday dinner-drinks thing tonight but I don't know if I'm going to go now, just due to this..I really don't want to be scrambling and doing all 3 things in one day, since I really want to do well on all 3 of those things.....
The answer to that question was 1<X<2 because 3/2 was a solution. I can't remember how I figured it out, but I did. I'll post it when I remember.
By the way, avuncular means pertaining to an uncle. No, I'm not kidding.
Fooly, the answer to the prescient question was whatever option was opposite of prescient. It means foresight, and they wanted frivolous or something like it. I put prescient as well. Don't feel bad about it.
Projected Scores?
Math-680 (My weakest topic. I'm being optimistic here)
Reading-690 (I might have done better than I thought)
Writing-760-780 (My forte. Between my last 2 practice tests, I have gotten 1 wrong. Total.)
it was a tough test. Tougher than I expected it to be.

Well, the hummus is the base part. There's all the other standard sandwich stuff on there as well.
Magic was definitely a bit of a help on the GRE, as were other fantasy things. (To use one from a practice exam - "Enervate". What's the opposite of "to bestow negative levels upon"?)
Speaking of Standardized Tests, I just took the Computer Science GRE this morning. It's rather unusual in that it's extremely difficult to do well and many grad schools don't require it, so many people that take it don't even report their scores. I think I did decent, but I don't know if I did well enough that I'll report my score.
I test extremely well - that is, I tend to get higher standardized test scores than are probably representative of my actual abilities - so I did pretty well on the SAT. Don't remember it with much fondness, though. (My performance on tests isn't damaged by being in a high-pressure situation, and I have good 'test senses', so I can usually do passably.)

Hello, peoples. I can't guarantee the general coherency of this post, but it's 3:00 in the morning, and I'm back from Tsubasacon.
One word for the convention: AWESOME. I was never bored, not once, which is remarkable, considering. I was there from 12:00 noon until around 2:00am. From the dealer's room I got yet another old, niche series that only I would care about on the cheap (A.D. Police Files), and an "ANIME: MY ANTI-DRUG" t-shirt. I saw several new anime throughout the day, the best of which was probably Battle Programmer Shirase, followed closely by The Magical Play. Around 8:00pm the Spoony Bards (ft. 2 electric guitars, one traditional guitar, a violinist, two keyboarders, one percussionist, and two vocalists) performed on stage, doing amazing live renditions of the Zelda theme, Halo (storming the beach), Yoshi's Island theme, and other anime/VG related music. Around 9:00pm, the con hosted a Mystery Science Theater type of event, where the announcers made fun of the Cutie Honey live-action movie.
But the best event was at 11:30, when they screened AMV Hell 4. That is a solid hour-and-a-half of side-splitting hilarity, especially when watched with a group. I had an absolute blast. I'm glad I did, because I think this will be my last con before I move to Japan.
Goodnight all. Once I see how I'm feeling in the morning, I'll decide if I want to make it to work tomorrow. It was all worth the pseudo-hangover I know I'm going to have tomorrow (lack of sleep, not drinking - I don't drink).
Kind of slow on posts this weekend, eh Coffeehouse?
I know this sounds likea typical update-y post, but I do want to say , I'm very glad you had an awesome time, Mr.Stuff....
I'm almost done w/ the first question for my essay exam, and I'm up super early in order to work on my thesis, and just basically work on stuff all day and night long...
First I'll be tackling my Senior Thesis, then finishing my essay exam, then studying for a test tomorrow.....
I was planning on waking up around 7am, then getting started w/ my work around 8am, but instead i woke up at 8am, so I'm getting started around 9am... blah.. puts me an hour behind schedule!
Anyway, I should really get started on my work.... Take care, all!!
No, we're not forgetting, since I just mentioned it was legendary in my initial response to your post.
Right. It's no Xira Arien. Hell, I would still take old Uncle Ulty over Kentaro, The Smiling Cat if given the choice.
I'm not about to murk through a mass of cards for an example, but I'm sure there are some flavor texts that are probably more poignant than that, although it has certain sad sentiment to it.
