I had a good day yesterday, I got too see my friends in person (normally we only talk online). I played a Ton of Pokemon TCG Games. Thats right, Pokemon TCG, not magic (I do that enough as it is).
I just feel like that is way too fragile. You would get destroyed by an aggro deck like the MGA that has been popping up.
The reason I mentioned Abundance is becsaue that way, when you say draw 7 cards, you can set up for exactly what you want, which at that point should be all non-land. It would make the deck more cosistinent IMO.
I suppose, but stretching to 4 colors can strain the deck. Plus, I'm thinking in terms of casual multiplayer. It might even be better as WU possession, so you can counter and wrath.

I was thinking in terms of T2. That is actually a good deck idea. Do you mind if I steal it and make a competitive deck?
Afraid I'm not really in a drafting mood tonight - also, I'm on my work laptop, and so should probably try to minimise the number of things I install onto here. It's already got Football Manager, with Skype to follow.
While listening to the radio earlier, I heard Babylon by David Gray. For some reason, I found myself singing along to it, only replacing "Babylon" with "Mamelon". I think that's your fate from here on out, Mams :). Still, there are far worse songs to be associated with.
Debate isn't so bad, once you get the hang of picking out and ignoring the morons. One of the reasons I was attracted to 'News back in the day was its debate forum, and that didn't change when I moved sites with everyone else. If you look for it, you often get some very intelligent and in-depth debates, just that you have to mine a lot of coal to find the diamonds.
Foul mood, so I'm outta here for now.
You should tell us your Skype name. I've been working on my English, so we might actually be able to talk!

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
Well, tonight was the first time I've ever done voice chat with anyone. After the main chat ended, Mr. Stuff and Lilly and I continued on for a while, and Alacar eventually joined. I have to say it was a lot of fun.
I was really shy about my voice for a while but it soon felt more comfortable. It seems I sound a little bit southern to people!
I think it'd be fun to try it again occasionally with different people. It's so fascinating getting to try a new medium of conversation.
@Mr. Stuff: Ah, another of 4kids little ventures. It's almost criminal.
I had a great time chatting on Skype, and an even better time chatting with Lilly and Mamelon and Mr. Stuff. I look forward to talking with them more in the future.
Thanks, guys, for keeping me up until 4:00am. Seriously, I had a blast, and it was a great experience. We should most definitely do this again some time - and - even better - I will be able to use Skype even from Japan. I hope everyone enjoyed the conversation earlier in the evening as well, though with more people, it was inherently harder to tell who was who. On a side note, I really hope Lilly is able to get her paper done. She sounded like she was having a hard time with it.
Speaking of Japan, I just got official word back on when I'm going: November. I'm not entirely sure when in November, but I can breathe easier knowing that I have at least a month to plan my move. This isn't just a brief jaunt across the ocean - I'm required to stay at least a year. If I decide to skip out on them and leave early for whatever reason, unless I notify them five months in advance, they charge me for all the costs from dropped and missed classes and for finding a new teacher, not to mention not paying the airfare back. I'll most likely have to try to get new furniture, new clothes, and well, lots of other new things once I'm over there. I'm not sure I can take a whole lot with me. I'm probably going to end up getting a laptop before I go over as well, to bring class materials to class on. There's just so much to keep track of, but it's got me very excited.
When I do go, my activity on here is likely to drop significantly, and I may not do things like Anime of the Week. I plan to try to keep a blog on the site, though, so if anybody wants to check on my progress, you'll most likely be able to.
@Tanth:
I agree with Photon. Skype was a blast, and I'd love to see more people join the next time we have a Skype chat.
Here is my WG angel stompy list I have been tooling around with for the current legacy metagame with the addition of gaddock Teeg its far from optimal though. but thats probably because i just threw the deck together I am thinking about playing with some absolute laws to make my goblin matchup brilliant and also to negate all of the direct damage from bolts and fire/ices from ugr threshold.
Shadowfox: Sorry I was gone for the draft. I got dragged to play some more Magic with friends... at least this time it was more fun. I won a 4 way with a RB burn deck. And I'm not kidding you, its at least 75% burn... didn't see that coming.

Welcome to the 'house, glurman. Enjoy it here; there's plenty to talk about.
Strange topic, Alacar...I'm not really sure how to answer this now that I'm getting close to 30, to tell the truth. For me, there are two answers. Legally you're an adult when you're eighteen, of course. But emotionally...there are plenty of people out there who've lived out a whole life without having become an adult.
what age? well hormones kicked in at 13 like most people do... mindset though i have never been happy with kids my age... i never found the fun in a lot of things they did and i was constantly looking for better things to do/talk about...but adults dont like a kid talking so that was kinda frustrating...
i would say i matured since a very early age due to several factors in my life... i guess that as far as i can go explaining it without deviating too far away.

Adulthood, I feel, is a sliding scale. A workable definition, I feel, is the ability to put things ahead of one's immediate wants. This could be other people's wants and needs (I'll share my candy instead of hiding it for myself) or one's own future wants and needs (I'll study for my test instead of playing Nintendo.) One's general tendencies in this regard seem to me to be a good measure of one's adulthood. Another factor might be a willingness and ability to take on greater responsibilities.
So.. topic: At what age do you really become an 'adult', do you think?
When we tell you you damn well are you!
J/K. It's more or less when you realize your maturity level. That's all really. I can't really describe it much more than that... it's not something that's easy to put in words.
Hmmm... it seems like so far the answers have been equating adulthood with maturity, either physical or emotional. While maturity is normally part of adulthood, I think the most accurate measure would be when one becomes the person primarily responsible for their own welfare.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
I think one becomes an adult when they gain the capacity to consider other's needs before their own.
Never happens with anyone. Everything that lives lives for its own gain. When you donate something, it's so that you feel better about yourself. It really is. You can try to hide it all you want, but you are selfish in your core.
That being said, I try not to be mature. I try very hard to keep my inner child on the exterior, life's more fun that way. And I have very few problems, save for terminal illness. An adult becomes an adult when they feel that they are emotionally able to look themselves in the mirror and say, "Me, you are an adult. You have responsibilities, freedoms, and opportunities you never thought possible when you were a child. Live with them, and do what you do. You're an adult now."

Gee, that's a refreshingly cynical take on the topic.
Meanwhile, I think everyone has some truth to what they said.
Like Kraj said- adulthood is responsibility. However, adulthood is also a state of emotional maturity, a state of physical maturity, and a state of social maturity. In many ways, placing another before another's needs before your own can encourage one to reach true maturity, but it isn't a guarantee. Also, to some degree, adulthood is perception. I think it is a fair blend of each.

I suppose there's also a type of cognitive maturity, the capacity to see the big picture and plan & prioritize accordingly. I can actually remember when this capacity came to me. I was sitting in 9th grade history class, and we had a visiting lecturer from a prominent local business school. He was talking about school as an investment and profitable careers as the return on that investment. Most of the time I would tune out the guest lectures and play games with my friends. But for some reason I listened, and he demonstrated how just by attending 1 year of college with an average class load you net $10 an hour more in your life than if you quit after high school. At the time I was working outside school for minimum wage and that represented double my pay, just for going to college. From then on I had a much sharper awareness of the very long term. Everything I put any significant effort into was a part of that investment. School, work, networking, volunteering. My parents always talked about education, but I took it for granted more or less. I thought a day ahead, if at all, usually because there was homework. That changed rather suddenly, like reality just snapped into focus.
Of course if you don't have the social and emotional intelligence required to land and keep good jobs and get along, it doesn't matter what kind of planning you do, you'll get nowhere.
@glurman: I suppose donating could be primarily for personal gain, but how about giving? I give something to someone equally for their benefit as my relief.

Psychological Egoism (the idea that all acts, including seemingly altruistic ones, if committed by a sane individual, are entirely motivated by selfishness) is hardly universally accepted. It's difficult to prove anything about the theory because it's largely unfalsifiable. There are other arguments against it that tend to rely on thought experiments (like the "Experience Machine") that might be interesting to look up if people are interested in the subject.
