Oh, goodness, there's a huge amount to catch up on . . .
Sakura, I think would have been funnier if you had made Ether the lion, only instead of wanting courage from the Wizard he wanted to find a long-lost Superior Game System.
And I can see why he'd not like being called a witch. Everyone has a right to have their gender identity respected, even in small ways.
The part about the Strawman was rich. I thought that was pretty clever.
Quote from Sakura »
The Strawman stepped forward. "I do not need the Alacar's help anymore. After spending some time with Mamelon, I learned the true nature of Debate. It comes from having Passion for what you are speaking on and having the strength to ignore the trolls and flames."
The Tinwoman stepped forward. "I do not need a ******. After spending time with Mamelon I realized a real woman does not need one to be strong and beautiful. Some woodsmen will not like what they find, but others will. I need to please myself first before I please any woodsmen."
Everyone kind of stared at her for that last bit,
"What..."
The Alacar walked up to Mamelon then. "So you need me to send you home, my dear?"
Mamelon thought for a moment. "No, Alacar. The House is full of friends and is my new home. But can you take these darn shoes, they really reek and they killed my dog."
And the shoes were removed. Mamelon made a home for herself in Houseland and was happy...until Disney butchered her story 50 years later with a sequel.
"There is no place like home."
You flatterer!
Seriously though, Sakura, that's very sweet of you. I'm touched that you see me that way. *hugs*
Cute tale, indeed. It gave me quite a chuckle.

1.) I never had that much. But Gundam Wing is what got me into Two Mix, which makes me really happy, because Two Mix has been one of my favorite bands for a long time. White Reflections, anyone?
Ooh, I very muich like Two-Mix. There music has such an emotional quality to it, depsite the techno elements. Very nice, and an old favorite of mine too.
I did like Gundam Wing, which is one of the first anime I ever really got into, along with Sailor Moon. And it was kind of atypical for a giant robot show. So much drama!

Somehow that doesn't come as a huge shock. I wish we had a nearby LGBTI organization, if only to help find some options for Mamelon. Also, lately, I've just been curious about how the adoption process might go for Josh and I in this state, and I would like to actually talk with some same-sex couples who have adopted, but our area is like, dried the hell up.
I'd like that too. Honestly, that's one of the reasons I want to get involved in college. Hopefully I could find some kind of LGBTI support or activism group.
Well, for starters, moves are harder the more people there are involved. I'm not a single guy, I have to account for two people, if not three (as long as Mamelon lives with us, she becomes something I need to consider in all my life choices).
Yeah, and it's the same with me. I imagine one day us living apart, but for now that isn't really possible. I think eventually once our financial situations become more stable, we will all have more freedom as to what we can do and where we can go. But doing this together now is probably helping out a lot for everyone, so I'm glad of it.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.

New look: I agree with all the people that ever said its bleh. As for the grey circle in the MTG pentagon: it's grey because on the dark skin the colors of the banner are inverted (the text is white and the background is black) and hence the black would blend in with the background of the image.
Otherwise, I don't really have too much to say. I don't use iTunes (and it sounds like that's a good thing ) so I have no clue on the issues there (aside from DRM'd music but that's pretty much universal these days (and completely sucks nonetheless)). And with today being a slow day nothing much is going on here...
Tsubaki Sadamitsu is the leader of the local highschool band of misfits. Whenever a rival gang cuts in on their turf, it's Sadamitsu's job to fend off any and all would-be punks. He lives for battle, and fights honorably with his wooden kendo stick. He's even made an outfit for himself, and for still being in high school, he believes he's living the good life.
All that changes one day, when an escaped alien prisoner seeks refuge on earth. It is being pursued by a humanoid enforcer robot called an Attendant. The pair of intergalactic combatants choose Sadamitsu's home turf for their battleground, and Sadamitsu witnesses firsthand as his teacher is made into a hostage by the alien. After the robot Attendant sacrifices itself to save him, Sadamitsu picks up all that remains of the creature - its helmet, which still contains its intelligence and data - and per the Attendant's instructions, equips it on himself. Thus transformed, Sadamitsu takes down the alien convict. The Attendant warns him, however, that this is just the beginning: a wave of such creatures is headed toward Earth, and only he, now in posession of the Attendant's unique armor, can stop them.
Sadamitsu is a fun-filled action/sci-fi romp. It's got a fairly complex subplot, for all you sci-fi fanatics out there, one that involves time-travel and a slew of other nifty concepts. Fans of action movies will love seeing Sadamitsu bring his own brand of justice to all the miscreant alien creatures. To be fair, the series has not got a whole lot of depth to it, but that's not really what it's about. The action sequences are well done, and the concept is just cool enough and explored well enough that you have fun with it without a whole lot of technical details or complications bogging it down. Sadamitsu is just fun to watch riding around on his alien motorcycle, taking down escaped aliens with his super-powered armor, and that's what this series is all about. It has a concrete plot that carries it through ten episodes, and ends rather nicely. The music selection is very good as well, and oddly reminiscent of the soundtrack from many westerns - it plays up the theme of one stalwart hero taking on hordes of evildoers.

Well, it never fails. Josh is browbeaten at least once per thread, so I'm sure he's come to expect it. He'd make a wonderful father, by the way.
Yeah, Joshua is more than responsible enough to care for a child. We both have frequently in the past, and he's no stranger to being nurturing.
How he responds to a sensitive question, in an environment in which his bristle is already understood as a quirk, doesn't really say a lot about his parental aptitude. He actually was pretty easy about it.
It's not illegal for gay people to adopt here, it's just that their relationship isn't recognized as a marriage. And it shouldn't be illegal for a gay person or couple to adopt children anyway.
Quote from Sakura »
If a man shows intrest in another man, most people would not then ask if they were straight.
And yes, Bisexual is a blanket term. For the most part, I am a Lesbian. I like looking at alot of yummy boys though, and flirt like crazy with them. I have little emotional intrest in them and only occaisionally feel the need externalize my physical intrest. To tell you the truth, looking at sexy men makes me want to have sex with women. The things I find most appealing in men are generally very feminine.
I can be described as a Lesbian (or as a straight guy in drag if you are someone whom has an issue with the transexual thing), or as Bisexual. Mostly I am a Lesbian.
You ever feel like terms such as gay, lesbian, straight, bi, etc, don't really fit you?
I tend to feel like these terms aren't really right for me. I am a transgirl and I am attracted to guys, and therefore basically I am heterosexual, and yet I feel like that isn't very descriptive. I guess I say that because it belies how much of the "gay experience" I've been through being trans.
It's not that I'd rather call myself gay, of course. I guess I just think that "homosexual" or "heterosexual" are designed to be applied more easily to cisgender people, and so don't describe trans people quite as well.
I just do not get as much out of my encounters with men as i do with women. If I am going to be with a man I would rather be sharing him with another woman honestly...like a toy
Sakura, I hope you won't be offended as I say this, but I find this comment very disturbing, even though I know you were only teasing.
Although I don't really identify as a boy, sexualization of guys does touch a sore spot for me. Part of what was hard for me growing up was trying to cope with the intense sexualization of interacting with other people, of being expected to get married and have sex with a woman, of feeling like I was forced into that role and knowing people saw me that way. And of the idea of sexual "service" in general. Partly why I so dislike the word "boytoy."
I'm not trying to tell you how to feel, but that's what I think when people say such things.
Thank you Mam's
From you, that means alot. I love you dearly, you gave me the strength to be who I am.

As for me, I'm blonde, so I probably wouldn't be able to resort to it. Lucky for me that, being blonde, I don't have much body hair to worry about.
And you know, taking estrogen can help you body and facial hair thin and gorw more slowly, and make your hairline regrow. Nice, eh?

I'm sorry sakura, but with all of the flirting you've been doing recently, I really thought that you had typed what you mistakenly typed in earnest.
Of course now I see it was a hearfelt sentiment, so I can't exacltly chortle at it... :/
@ipod: well, do you have to update your phone's entire song collection every time you add a song? I have an ipod shuffle, and one of the most frustrating things is that I can't easily add one song or move one song around. Whenever I do this, the ass-backwards encoding process (i'm sure for proprietary reasons) has to rewrite to Gao-ren shuffle's Hun-dan hard drive!
I dont have to update the entire list for a song...but if i perform any single action with the phone, it spends a minute "syncronizing". So to delete an unwanted song or drag a new song...freezes itunes. Usually I just use the autofill option and leave it...but sometimes i want to make sure I get some specific songs.
For having such a huge market share, there certainly is huge room for improvement in Itunes. It makes me worried that, along a similar line, all of our (completely justified) *****ing about the new toddler-friendly frontpage will go unnoticed.

That's really harsh. I fail to see how the new front page is dramatically worse than the older ones, and I certainly don't see where the 'toddler-friendly' characterization comes from. Are you complaining that you find the new front page easier to use?

I think I had actually seen it before, it's just that at the time, I was dismissive of him as just an idiot. Then I forgot about it and, the passing of time made that precious sealed vintage turn all the richer. Once I started to see the whole six pages in the thread, the patience with which people dealt with him, and the absurdist mockery of him that he gladly agreed with and accepted as plausible, well, it was a lot funnier with the passing of time.
I wouldn't underestimate the power of the Austin Powers Theme, either. That was pure serendipity.

I feel like the Monkey comment had just as much relevance to the discussion at hand as anything else in that thread.
It's sort of hard to determine what is and isn't superfluous posting in a dialogue composed primarily of hot, sticky lunacy gushing out of the festering, open sore of the thought processes that spawned it.

The fact that "Monkey" got yellowcarded only brought the mods into that symphonic bacchian dance of madness. They made the mistake of ackowledging that the thread exists. They would have been better served to just give that thread its own domain name and excise it from the otherwise healthy body of mtgs. What I do know about him leaves me pretty unintrested it, as i have little respect for him as a person. He will likely be fine as a friend to hang with, but I could never sleep with him.
If to me boys were just toys, I would be happy he was cute and apparantly a skilled lover and be on him in a heartbeat...then toss him aside when bored.
I demand a gritty, difficult front page that filters out those without the intellectual fortitude to avoid making threads like this.
Preferably one that makes you complete a sudoku puzzle in order to log yourself in.
Sometimes when I loads a page in the forum it comes up with no formatting or borders...I refresh the page and its fine. This looks like that...and when I loaded the site today I was sure my computer was not displaying it right until others started mentioning something.
@Photon : But its a hand I tell you!!!!
I swear that guy spammed that all over...worst...troll...ever.
He was living proof that Kami block was the worst block ever, because it attracted the stupidest people in the world to think they could play this game.
WOTC Development : "This yugi-Oh game is kicking are butt, what should we do"
Other WOTC dude : "Well maybe its the Japanese flavor that is drawing them, lets make a block of Japanese cards to suck the Yugi-oh players into magic"
Random Yugi-Oh player finding a Pile of Kami cards : "OMG its a Hand!!!! This is the coolest game ever!!!"

* wamyc catches his breath.
I was laughing an like idiot for the longest time. Six golden, surreal pages of pure madness. Best of all, as soon as I opened the thread, winamp loads up Quincy Jones' Soul Bossa Nova (the theme to Austin Powers), which made everything all the more hilarious.
That thread was censor-evading hilarious.
I actually have a bloody lip now because smacked my face on my ottoman.
I'm sorry, I don't do returns without receipt.
That was a good thread. I sort of assumed everyone had already seen it at some point.
I sort of feel like our "how did man invent bread" conversation was along that level.
I wouldn't underestimate the power of the Austin Powers Theme, either. That was pure serendipity.
I remember that thread! That was great stuff! The stupidity of that poster is legendary.
It'll go unanswered for a lil' while then something in the way of an answer will come but too little too late as we'll all be used to the front page or enough people won't care as they've bookmarked the forums as entrance instead of the front page.
Edit:
There probably came a point where the moderators got a headache from even glaring at that thread for longer than three seconds and took pain medications to just bear thru it. People do all sorts of funny things when loopy.
Or, we could all go into SYM and make a huge fuss. I don't know about you guys, but I bet if a bunch of us went in there and started making a big, whiny, queeny fit it would probably get a lot of attention.
I love how the guy used dulpicate accounts even before his main account got banned. And then he goes back to the main account, like he forgot his password for a day or so.
makes my inner flcl fan tear.
