Hello everyone! Yes, I'm back! Hide your children and put on your safety helmets!
Sorry for not posting more often. I really want to post more. But, anyways....
Terrible news about the dog, Photon. I, too, am a lover of animals and its always sad to hear about things like that. I was pretty sad when my Grandmother's Boxer died and her cat needed to be put to sleep. I loved those little buggers.
In other news, I think I've taken my first step to cutting back on sugary-type foods. I've recently switched over to diet soda instead of regular. Its a lot better for me due to the lack of sugar and all the other crap they put in. I still love me a Pepsi, but diet will do. Its not a weight-loss plan or anything, but its a start.
Today, was pretty bleh. After having a nice 3-day weekend off from work, I come in today and get crap from my manager about not shaving. I was sent home to do so. I was pretty close to telling her to go **** herself or just staying home. Its the stupid stuff like this that makes me want to start looking for a new job.
For now though, I'm going to relax and watch some T.V. before heading to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow to help my stepmother to her doctor appointment, plus work @ 3.
I personally think the tribes mechanic could be really useful. Depending on how this goes it might actually give legacy players a reason to play goblins again but we will have to wait and see.
The champion mechanic could actually prove to be quite useful against control deck strategies in decks that don't really have any countermagic or something to prevent them from losing their creatures via removal. Like white weenie for instances might be able to benefit from the champion mechanic depending on if they print playable cards that will fit the general philosophy of white weenie. Also I could say the samething about mono green aggro as well since it is still relevant.
Also familiar's ruse totally jumped at me saying play me in threshold. I think familiar's ruse can benefit threshold against the likes of control like landstill and other control decks. Since it won't matter if they counter familiar's ruse or not since your tarmogoyf or mongoose will still be in your hand when they cast damnation/wrath of god or activate a engineered explosives and what have you. I could see some threshold players play at least 2 familiar's ruse in their sideboard since landstill has been alot more popular these days in the Legacy metagame. Who knows I might even run some to have a more stable aggro strategy against landstill and other control decks in the meta.
I would actually be very surprised if the unrepresented color pairs got tribes; as the block is, it is distinct from Ravnica in this regard, and that distinction would be eliminated by trying to fill those gaps. As it is anyway, not all of the color pairs are ravnica-equal to begin with. There are more black goblins than red ones, and more white kithkin than green. (By a lot.) There are way fewer giants than there are goblins, so those color pairs aren't even equal anyway. Symmetry was clearly not a terribly high priority. (The block is roughly as symmetrical as Onslaught; much more structured than TS or Mirrodin, but much less than Ravnica or Legends.)
The tribe color configurations, while kind of arbitrary looking on the surface, are actually very carefully done. If you ignore the 3-color treefolk and the 1-and-five-halves color elementals, there are -no- three color "triangles" that involve playing three colors and having access to both colors of three tribes. At the same time, many decks will play the 'unrepresented' color pairs in limited anyway, if they play two color-overlapping tribes and play cards from both colors of each; UR would be the result of either a faerie-goblin or merfolk-giant deck. RG is the result of an elf-goblin deck or a Kithkin-giant deck. BW is the result of a merfolk-faerie deck or a giant-goblin deck. UG is the result of a Kithkin-merfolk deck or a faerie-elf deck. Two ways to get each of the "unrepresented" pairs. At the same time, if you're playing two tribes, it's highly unlikely that you're playing any of the represented pairs unless you're playing the represented pair, as there are no such "triangles".
It is time for legacy of the week! This week will be featuring Pikula's Homebrew. This deck keeps on springing up in any metagame and tends to do well. I consider it to be a consistent aggro-control deck I like to call it that can do well in alot of different legacy environments.
One more thing before I start though thoughtseize just give this deck and probably alot more decks a decent edge against a variety of decks in the format including the top decks.
Cephalid Breakfast: This matchup can pretty much be in your favor since you have more disruption then they do as well. You can also remove their sutured ghoul from doing 20 damage to you on the spot with either swords to plowshares or diabolic edict. Postboard gets much better since you can basically play a engineered plague to take care of their en-cors and cephalid illusionist. As well as you have answers to their goyfs via vindicates, stps, and more. You also have extirpate which tends to hurt them a ton as well as planar void which also can hurt breakfast.
Ichrorid Bridge: This matchup is definetly harder then breakfast since their deck is alot more resilient to disruptions in the form of countermagic and discard. Postboard however can get better by aiming at their bridges or dredge return with extirpate and planar void. I would say postboard its about even or in a little more in pikula's favor and preboard its in ichrorid bridge's favor.
Iggy pop: This can be a tough matchup for you if they combo off on you by turn 2 but if they have slower hand draws to combo off then you have a much better chance. Postboard can get much better since you have extirpates and planar void to stop their ill-gotten gains combo loop.
Threshold: This matchup can be in your favor since you have just as much disruption in the form of discard and as well as several removal to take care of their threats like mongooses, tarmogoyfs, and etc. Postboard can get even better for you since you have extirpate and vindicate.
Goblins: Preboard can be about even or in goblin's favor depending on who gets on the faster start. Postboard can be in your favor because of extirpates and of course engineered plague and vindicate. Engineered plague just cripples goblins and are definetly needed to win the matchup.
Landstill: This matchup is of course in your favor because usually blue based control decks usually have a tough time keeping up with black decks with heavy discard. Postboard gets better for you since you have extirpates, another duress, vindicates, and pithing needles to nail their manlands.
CRET Belcher: This matchup is about even(or can go either way) since you have alot of discard to take out their most important combo pieces and they can combo off as early as turn 1 or 2 which can often lose you the game. Postboard gets somewhat better for you since you have more answers to their goblin storm tokens as well as having a solid answer to their belcher with pithing needle.
Well this is all for now stay tuned until next time for another legacy deck of the week!
Well i just found some shocking and creepy stuff... two weeks ago i got a pmfrom a complete stranger telling me about the wonders of Buddhism and how its the religion to the future... this was in another site... i contacted the owner to ask whats up with this? he said i seem to be the only one to recieve this pm...today i just logged in after going out with my wife and i find an exact duplicate of that pm in my inbox of this very site!!!! the only difference in the messages are the username and the link it provides me with... has anyone recieved this pm? i dont think this was just a random thing since both my accounts have the same username... its just so wierd... i contacted hannes but i think ill sound like a schizophrenic person even though i explained my concerns... it just looks like ive been targeted and ip hounded into all of my forums.... creepy!!!!!!
Ow i know no one will notice this but if you can try listening to "Something Good" by juan luis guerra... its a very nice song, i like it a lot and its in english so no one can complain :p... ill return in a little while...see ya all around

Oh man...I have a lot of songs that are emotionally pivotal for me. I'm one of those people who always has a soundtrack for their life. Ours' "Meet Me in the Tower" always gets me so emotional because it describes the person I used to be so damn well; I can't sing along to it without getting really into it. Along those lines is the Lifehouse song "Breathing," which is of course all about Josh and how I've always felt about him.
@Tanth: I know exactly how you feel. There are a few songs I can't listen to much anymore because they remind me way too much of my mother. Natalie Imbruglia has a song called "Come September" that, as far as I'm concerned, was written about her. Listening to it puts happy images in my head, but it's still a bit too much sometimes.
Heh, I love the song too. Actually, all of White Lillies Island is a lot more personal for me than I'd thought. Josh introduced me to the album when we first met and I spent the whole night tracking down the songs and downloading them on my sucky connection. I listened to the whole thing so many times that it's just become an intrinsic part of our relationship, in a lot of ways. "Beauty on the Fire" is another love song I relate to Josh very strongly, and I get a little choked up most times I listen to it.
EDIT: Well hey there Dark. Didn't see the post for a minute. Welcome to the Coffeehouse =)
I thought about this topic, but there are very few if any songs that really hit me emotionally where it's not the intention of the song. Probably the only ones are songs where I associate something from my life with them, which seems like cheating the topic to me.
C'mon in, Dark, and make yourself comfortable.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
One thing that has me intrigued about Lorwyn is the evoke mechanic, and how it interacts with momentary blink. For a simple :1mana::symw: more, you get a cheap creature, avoid the sacrifice effect, and get the CIP ability twice.
Also, dark, please try and add more content to your posts. One-line posts generally don't spur much conversation, and they are generally considered spam. I invite you to read our forum rules in their entirety, as they will help you in the long run.
I realise I may be coming accross as rude here, but I am just trying to help you out. The earlier you familiarize yourself with the rules, the quicker you avoid warnings. I hope you stick around here, and enjoy yourself.
sorry for that i i'm just tryign to get used to this style rules once more. now i can poast pages of text...but that would at least to me i would be domating the converation.
@ Kev: I know I have limited knowledge of legacy as a format and stuff, but is Thoughtseize really that much better than Cabal Therapy?
If you hit them with a Duress, then a therapy, you can potentially take out 5 cards with 2 mana. Thoughtseize
The rest of the deck looks solid though. With Necrotic Sliver seeing some play Gotta love that card.
Well I never really gave any comparisons to thoughtseize to cabal therapy really but thats alright. For me though I like thoughtseize better since you can hit any card and you won't be shot in the dark since you don't have to guess. Considering you won't always be able to have that duress to actually look in their hand before casting cabal therapy. Since the first 3 turns of almost any legacy match is important I consider thoughtseize to be better in the earlier turns while cabal therapy can be better in the mid to late game from my experience.
Well I am going to get ready for work soon. Ill talk to you all later tonight though. Have a good day everyone. *hugs everyone*
I wake up this morning and find Nezumi sitting on top of her cage. Cinimon is nowhere to be seen. There is a hole chewed through the plastic base of the cage.
One of my little girls is missing, and I don't have a safe way to keep Nezumi.
Rats are social and very intelligent, Nezumi always returns to and sits on top of her cage and her sister should return to find her.

Oh i forgot to mention... i usually make an assumption of how people sound.. as it makes it easier for me to see where someone is coming from (wether they are being sarcastic or just plain funny or actually mean it), for some reason sakura i wasnt able to find a tone that suited you until i found the song Something good... the female singer there just has a tone that i can kinda associate with you im not saying that you sound like that only that when i hear it i think if i where to hear you you would sound something like that im sleepy.... but gotta stay awake....they are showing numb3rs in a little while

Sorry to hear about your rats. I hate it when stuff happens to pets. Could you duct tape some aluminum or glass over the hole so you at least have a safe house for the one of them? I don't know what rats can chew through and what they can't.

pretty much anything thats not solid metal/glass... and if they are capable of getting their head thru any opening means they can contour their entire body through that opening which is amazing and a little disturbing if you ask me
edit: offtopic....i just realized i have started using the word 'mon' a lot... damn DotA and their trolls.... i've even caught myself saying "i hear ya mon"... the day i start saying 'gazdingo' is the day i delete warcraft from my pc
It's not your fault rats like to chew things so I wouldn't say it's all you. On the other hand, I can't blame you feeling bad that one of your rats has gone missing and you miss it. Hopefully it'll come back and not die a death because someone in the building thinks they have a rat infestation...

I've heard of one that chewed through sheets of aluminum. Unless its a thick metal bar nothing really keeps them in, I guess.
And now for something fun: Last night I found this (hope that link works). It's a celebrity look-a-like thing. You just upload a photo of you and it determines which celebrity you most look like. Thought it'd be interesting to hear what this thing thinks everyone here looks like. I came out to look like either Apollo Anton Ohno or James Van Der Beek (60% likeness to both). I suppose it could come out worse - at least I didn't get compared to an ugly guy.

The one that comes to mind was by Utah Saints, and the female vocals is Kate Bush. Her voice is kinda high pitched, but she is hella hot.
