You know, now that I'm the ruling class at my school, and theres actually lots of people who play again now, it would be a good idea to maybe set up something of that sort. It looks like Tons-o-fun, albeit a little chaotic...
What i really miss are the huge 8 person FFAs we had freshman year -_-; *sigh*

"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown" ~ H. P. Lovecraft
Hi, I'm new around here. I'm Chipper, and I like Magic: The Gathering and short stories. I was wondering, are there any H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, or Ramsey Campbell fans here?
Welcome Chipper - although I am too new to really welcome you... but here have a cup of tea or coffee.... there are both!
I don't know/read any of the authors you mentioned, but I just finished timestreams - and that was a good read. Although now I have run out of books because I havent bought the bloodlines one. D'oh.

Believe me, emporer is really really fun, regardless of what position you're playing. Usually the emporer has a support deck or a combo deck that goes off as soon as a flanker dies, or it generates a ton of tough aggro stuff to pass left and right. Imagine a card like Epic Struggle in the hands of the emporer, and all three decks generating tokens like crazy.
Heh; that would be fun. I always enjoyed playing the support/combo emperor...It what showed me just how fun Last Laugh is...
But ya; Emperor is a really fun format especially if your playing with a group with mixed play strengths as you can help to mitigate disadvantages by balancing teams and teams can strategize seating so as to best benefit the team...
Lunar4lyfe who is the best player in sweden took the name Suzumiya Haruhi, an were trying to make a competetive anime clan...help! names?
Is Konata taken? 0_0;
Pick something easy to pronounce, easy to shorten into a nick, and leave off any extraneous numbers, capitalizations, or other characters. Just keep it nice and simple. For example, "Lucky Star" is much cleaner and easier to remember than something like "LUckY_StAR4123a". That's the only real advice I have for you.
Welcome back, Lily, and welcome, Chip. Can we call you Chip?
Well... It's the weekend. Yay! I can get some much needed sleep. But before that, I need to put up AotW. I'll make a little game of it this week. Whoever posts first with a number anywhere from one to two-hundred-and-fifty, I'll use that to pick the show for this week. If that number has already been done, I'll pick the next closest one.
The "gents" rules are stupid, I stated that already. Creating playing imposed special rules like that ruin the game. Most of these Gents rules restrictions actually impair legit strategies which would otherwise themselves hinder much more annoying strategies and comoes. Discard, Counters, etc...they are an important part of the game...and for their colors often the only way to deal with certain threats. How does black get rid of enchantments and artifacts for instance? How does blue remove anything permanantly?
There is a reason why the DCI is so slow to band or restrict stuff if it can avoid it, and slower to unban it.
Soon some other strategy will irritate these children and they will ban it. What? Someone killed all my elves? OMG? What am I going to do? Ban ***!! Ban Mutilate!!! The Horror...sigh.

heh, what do i know, all i do is play limited formats competitively
and it better be Genesis Survivor Gaiarth....review it darnit. (second request)
Nope, sorry. Better luck next time.
The one you've chosen is actually fairly recent. It just came out last winter in Japan and ran until this spring. It hasn't made it to the states yet. It's a sci-fi murder-mystery/drama show that is set in New York. I think you'll like it.
AotW coming as soon as I can grab pics and write it up.
I generally make my point on these gent rules being stupid by bringing stupid decks that should work if people actually had brains in their head. I mean seriously, if people actually played this game right I should not be winning turn 3 with Warp World.
Series: Red Garden
Genre: Horror - Mystery - Sci-fi - Drama
Episodes: 22
Kate, Rose, Claire, and Rachel - these are four very different girls who all attend the same private high school in New York. Recently, a mutual acquaintance at the school, Lise, committed suicide. After the announcement, school was cancelled for the day, and they were brought together in the midst of their mourning, for they all knew her in some way. According to police, her suicide seems to be just one in a string of related events.
Later that day, after everyone has gone home, the girls are drawn individually to Central Park by mysterious butterflies which only they can see. There, they meet a man and a woman in business attire, and are subsequently attacked by a savage, animalistic man with grey skin and glowing eyes. The woman instructs them to defeat this creature, and they do, just barely managing to stay in one piece. She goes on to tell them that the four of them are not alive, but dead... and in order to restore their true bodies, they must continue fighting these creatures in secret.
What's going on here? Are the girls really dead? If so, how? Is there any relation to the mysterious string of recent suicides? Will the girls be able to learn to cooperate with each other long enough to stay alive?
Story, artwork, music, characters, setting - Red Garden has all these in spades. The art style is beautiful, reminiscent of more artsy shows like Nana and Paradise Kiss. The characters are all unique and interesting, as is the plot. The music, while not outstanding, really does a good job, and leaves not a whole lot to be desired. The setting (New York) is conveyed wonderfully through the unique art style, and the show uses tons of little details to really give you the feeling of being in the big apple rather than a generic city. The story carries well, never becoming slow enough to lose the viewer's interest, while at the same time dedicating plenty of time to character development and never rushing the plot. The ending is one of the absolute standout best endings I've seen in an anime, with a pan-out shot of New York City that can't be missed. I give this one an 8.5/10.
Lol nice, I'm a regular member and a casual customer. I guess that makes me the most important person here.
So yeah, I haven't come in here for a while, not that I've had the chance. The last 2 weeks I've spent in Hawaii, and the 2 weeks before that I was in Ethiopia. But yeah, I hope you all missed me, which I'm sure you did, because who couldn't miss Strong Bad?
So who are the regulars nowadays? I see Alacar, same as always, but where are all the other people I know and kinda but not really love :p?
Anything extremely important that I should know?
Welcome back strongbad. Its me hunter44, remember me? Well good to see ya again.
Speaking of weeklies.. I've really dropped the ball when it comes to Regular of the Week. I need a break from it, I think.
So, if anyone wants to pick it up for me, I'll send you the questions for you to send to someone, have them fill it out and send it back.
Ill do the regular of the weeks if you dont mind alacar. Sorry i havent posted in here for a couple of days ive been doing some work and been playtesting alot with one of my decks. I just wanted to stop by and say hello though and have a good one everyone! *hugs and blows kisses*

I don't have much time to catch up, but I wanted to make a quick post.
This was, for some reason, an incredibly depressing day. It just hit hard early in the morning, and didn't really let up. I'm watching time pass by so quickly around me, and I'm still trying to catch my breath.
On the up side, new manga! I've read over Tramps Like Us, got the second volume, and it's turning out to be a real jewel. I'm excited to read the rest of the volume and get the third one. This is one to keep following, definitely.
I read Qwan and have a pretty good impression of it. It's feels a little bit like Vampire Princess Miyu mixed with Naruto, with a dash of the original Dragon Ball because of the Chinese mythological elements.
The new Detective Conan is good as always, and I still have Bleach and FMA to catch up on. Then, the third installment of Little Butterfly, completing the series. I've been preparing for that one, and am anxious to see how the story will turn out.
Have to get up early tomorrow for a meeting, but later on - "picnic time!"

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Sorry you had a hard day sweety. Alacar should be posting a special geek MP3 from Devi and I which we wrote that expresses that very feeling. Life just passes us by as if we are frozen in place. So much we feel we need to do and each day is a day we didn't. The piece is incomplete but I wanted you guys to see what we have so far. It needs a real set of lyrics mainly.
The three of us are sisters sweety, and Lilly. This piece is for all girls like us.
Indeed Sakura, I'm happy to have all my ladies here
And as promised, here is the debut of the (slightly unpolished) 'Gorgon', from Cerebralplasty, the delicious duo of the enigmatic icon SakuraDensetsu and the heavenly diva DeviSparkles.

Opening for Cerebralplasty, is a fun song from the old SNES/arcade classic Killer Instinct. Killer Instinct - Do It Now!

Ugh. I hate days like that. Sounds like you're having fun with the manga, though. Don't forget to enjoy that picnic.
Side note - I just woke up from an incredibly depressing dream. My little brother had gotten Leukemia, and died. I just remember sitting outside on a park bench telling some kind old lady about this, sort of crying on her shoulder, and telling her about how I never got to see him one last time before he died. I think this was the second dream I've had where I've woken up crying. The last one was because it was so beautiful - this one was because it was so sad.
Makes sense though, because I was thinking about my friend who passed earlier in the day. I didn't go see him one last time either, but that was my choice and the circumstances were different. He was "dead" already by the time I would have been able to see him, and I wanted to remember him the way he was. I think deep down I may still harbor regrets about the whole thing though, illogical though they are.
Bah, enough depression. Regarding AotW - there is a new Red Garden OVA coming out very soon called "Dead Girls" that I am really looking forward to. I really loved the original work, and I'm excited to see what they do with the OVA.
I'm not sure really what I'm going to do with today (my day off). I need to get some writing done for a certain project, but that's about all I really need to do. I may just watch some Hale + Guu. I watched the first five episodes of that the other day with my brother. Whew, was it ever strange - like, bizarre, Excel Saga strange - which means I like it, of course.
@Saki&Devi: That song is something else I must say. But I do like it quite a bit. Good show, both of you.
@AL: Don't feel like you've done anything wrong for not doing RotW. Everyone needs breaks.
I know I haven't been around a lot, and for that I am sorry. It has just become such a busy time of year for me due to the whole needing to find colleges to apply to thing. But I promise once school starts (2 weeks or so) I will be much more active, back to 7-10 posts a day, not one or two every other day.
Yesterday though, was amazing. It was the last day of camp, which means I got paid and can finally get that XBOX360 I've had my eye on for so long. I also saw Superbad last night which was fantastic. It was a packed house and I love it when there is audience participation in a movie. It just made the experience that much better. As long as you don't not like juvenile humor you will find this movie to be very very funny.
