Personally, I liked the original KOTOR much better than the sequel. I don't know why, exactly, but the gameplay and storyline just seemed to flow better to me. The second one felt more like a traditional RPG to me. Not that that's a bad thing, but I liked how it felt the first one integrated the story more into the gameplay.
I just watched the Alchemist OVAs, which were really cute. The "kids" one puts a nice little finishing touch on the storyline. I also just burned Project A-ko to DVD. What an odd (yet classic) set up it has. The character of A-ko is fairly well designed for a comedy/action character. The character C-ko just makes me want to punch her every time she speaks... which is far too often.
I loved KoToR 1. It was fun as heck, had a great storyline, and the final boss was fun. The entire game is very user friendly, and the level system means you're never going to be outgunned. Just do everything you want.
KoToR 2... I don't know. I played it. There were some awesome bits. The first world, for instance, was very creepy, and I loved every second of it. The choices bit is fun, having to make life and death choices. But I sorta got bored with the storyline once I hit a certain point. I haven't gotten it again to beat it yet, though I should.
Chain of Memories is... Interesting. I never beat it, though I plan to do so once I finish my runthrough of KH1, whenever that happens. The combat system is based off a deck of cards, and you control the deck. It's much like what I hear Baiten Kaitos is like. The storyline is nothing groundbreaking. It's less an actual story unto itself than it is an introduction to new characters and a lead-in to the second game. Don't expect a brand new story. Expect a bridge, and many introductions.

That would be Bioware in KOTOR 1. Bioware is excellent at rpg's and storyline. The group that took KOTOR 2 (can't even remember their name) took the great system, and only changed a few things. The story is choppier and I've even noticed a few glitches. In the last KOTOR 2 game I played, my character got about 3 times as much experience as normal the entire time. I ended the game at level 47 without cheating or using the "infinite" experience glitch XD.
Omna: Just buy KOTOR 1 already :p. IMO, its storyline is of 1st trilogy quality, with better dialogue :D.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
KotOR 1 sounds like a great game, I definitely want to pick it up, and sounds like I was right in my judgment not to buy KotOR 2. Chain of Memories.... A deck of cards, huh? That should be interesting.
And, Nai, what is Baiten Kaitos? Another GBA game or?? just curious
As for me, tomorrow, I go to my first FNM at home.. Most likely this will be pretty rare, and let me just see how things go, as in, do I meet new cool people or just pimply teenage guys with raging hormones... No offense, fellas!
So yea, I look forward to playing Magic again tomorrow, draft, naturally. I brought home that big box o' cards that Alacar gave me and Arguas a while back, plus a couple minor decks that I had and not much else... Since I know that there really won't be that many people around here who play.
Today I just spent some time hashing out with Ryan some details about online RPing.. maybe you guys can help me out... How on earth can he portray Arguas and be the "GM" at the same time? is it like, a story where he says The man turns around and Arguas then says, "_______" or would it be direct character responsiveness to my character, Omna?? I'm having a hard time with the concept of a GM addressing the general story and the big picture, while simultaneously portraying a character in the storyline.... Ryan says he'd be controlling Arguas as if he were an NPC... but that just throws me off, since to my knowledge (perhaps I'm wrong, please, please correct me if i am) NPC's are lesser involved storyline characters than the actual PC's... I feel as though that is "cheapening" Arguas' involvement, even though Ryan says that Arguas is STILL a crucial character, and is simply going to be controlled by him, but as an NPC... I'm just a little confused I guess..... Can any of you guys clear it up?? Bear in mind here, I have NEVER really done quick-response instant-messaging RP.... I've done a small bit of forum RP, with Rise a while back... But that in itself was rather limited as well... so really, I have much less RP experience than I think most people (including Arguas!) give me sometimes.... its funny.. he said he feels as though I should know these concepts hardcore by now.... its the schematics of it, I think, that throw me off...
I just spent some time reading the PHB for D&D to give me a better idea of how the system works..... I read through the entire first chapter on character creation and read about Humans in the Race section and now am on the class and class skills section... If there's a specific chapter of the PHB that may help me out, that you know of, please do pass on the info!
Ryan will be introducing me to OGS (Open Gaming System, a system created by some friends of his brother's) and therefore and thusly, practicing this summer and fall for his OGS campaign (with his usual D&D group at RIT) starting in the Winter quarter when he returns to RIT.
Did I mention, before we left RIT, Ryan took me to the local game shop, Millennium Games, and allowed me to pick out my very own first set of D&D dice! I picked out this real shiny purple and blue shimmery set... its gorgeous... And the cool thing is, last year, for Ryan's and my 4 month anniversary, I bought him two shiny dice, one red and purple, one silver and blue... His favorite colors are blue and silver.. mine are red and blue (purple's close to that!) but yea, the two of those dice were just perfect in matching our personalities and he then on used both of those dice for when he played D&D... I used "my" red die for whenever we played Magic... Now, I have my own, and the awesome part is, they're a cool blend of BOTH of our d20's.. Purple from mine, blue from his! Isn't that cool??!?!? And I'll be able to use the D20 from the set, for the first time tomorrow at FNM!!
Well, my room is an absolute mess... I have several books and papers laying all over the place... Its 11pm here, and I still want to do some reading (finish that book for once!) and then go to sleep.. but yea, I was really sad, I had a huge book of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series compendium, and in the trip home, it got crunched up and stuff... Right now, I'm setting it down flat on the floor with the compendium version of the Narnia series book right on top of it! Hopefully that will flatten it out, and it won't be irrevocably damaged I'd be very very sad if it was.
Ok, I freaked out for a moment, as I couldn't remember where I put my memory cards, and dug all over my suitcases and backpack but fortunately I remembered I was sensible, and put them in my purse... I was thinking to myself, "Ok if I was packing up my memory cards and I didn't want to put them in my jeans pockets like i usually do, where would I put them.... My purse!" aaaaaaaaaand there we go, they were there. heh...
So, I can't wait to get all this crap out of my room.. I have a lot of books and a lot of games and a few movies, that I desperately want to be able to watch/play/read and in whatever purpose, establish in my room somehow... the most logical place for me, would be on the red table by my computer... However, this table happens to have an extremely ancient PC on it, in addition to a printer, the Mac's keyboard and mouse, and is adequately blocked by a hutch top filled with papers and books.... This makes my job more difficult, as my dresser is blocked by a chair and the hutch, AND my suitcase with all the games..... I'm trying to organize my books into some semblence of order (books for research, books for recreational reading, books for resources for writing or other interesting things) and then right next to the 'books for research' pile is the pile of my papers for my senior thesis.. I finally worked through the three folders of papers I needed to sort through... But that now means I have a huge pile of papers that ARE worthwhile, and which I have nowhere to put them. Oh, and also my Magic cards are in two huge ziploc bags by my chair(and the hutch)... and my PS2 is also on the floor, waiting to be hooked up, most likely tomorrow, so as to avoid it being stepped on from now on.... My friend and her mom are allowing me to borrow their TV for the summer, so that I can play games and watch movies on it....But the problem being, I NEED THAT COMPUTER AND HUTCH OUT OF HERE... before I can hook up the TV... (sigh)... Most likely will handle that this weekend, as I will tell my mom that the TV is coming at some point after Tuesday of next week. So yea, that's a lot of cleaning up to do...
Also, I need to read through the responses to the Discussion forum of the online class I'm taking, and respond in kind, as well as filling out a Bio Form due by Monday, and reading over some of the websites she assigned us to read, about the "Seven C's" of clear communication within businesses... (Class is called Communicating in Business)... as well as the Fog Index, for readability... I need to choose a piece of writing from the NYTimes, Wall Street Journal or another big-time newspaper and analyze the readability through the Fog Index and the 7 C's... as well as do a brief grammar exercise..... I just hope I actually have until Monday/Wednesday to do these things because I don't know when my book will arrive.... supposed to arrive anyday now...
Anyway, I'm rambling aren't I? I should probably get back to cleaning up, make sure there's a path through my room, then head off to do some reading before bed, finish "The Child that Books Built" once and for all

anybody feel like playing or talkin' via Pictochat or somethin' on the DS?
I have the New Super Mario game (there's minigames) and um...that's about it
wow... I just realized something a little surreal... My grandmother died today 15 years ago.... Fifteen years... It hardly feels like that long, but honestly, wow, I was eight when she died, and now I am twenty-two... FIFTEEN YEARS? Its just... weird how time flies like that.... I can't believe I've graduated from college essentially.. Well, yeah I have 5 more classes to finish up but still.... I walked across the stage at the end of last month... May 25th, I graduated from RIT... It does NOT feel real at this point... Anyway, I'm going to go curl up and read my book or find something nerdy to occupy my time
EDIT: WHOO! I just kicked ass, new high score in the Find-Mario-Luigi-Yoshi-Wario thingie in the New Super Mario Bros. Minigames FUN game... and I got up to level 65! WOO! Pardon my nerdiness:) And now I'm thirsty for some clearly canadian so I'm a-gonna go drink it up and read! Gnite folks!
Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in like a billion years. Everything is the same as is was before. I've been basically working a lot of the time, and I'm saving money for my trip. Me and my brother are planning a 10 or so day trip back east to visit friends and family. It's planned foe the middle of August, but someone else at work is requesting off a week or so at about the same time, so I hope I can get that worked out.
Other than that, I've gotten a few new pairs of shorts, a new pair of swimtrunks, a new shirt to go with it, and some neat sandals. I'm ready for summer!
I also picked up Diddy Kong Racing for the DS, hoping it would be like the original, but found out it was a steaming pile of you know what. I know games ported from a console to a handheld are different, but wow. The controls were bad, the graphics obviously had to be toned down, and you get the new stuff shoved in your face. I returned the damn thing and wound up losing like $20 due to GameStop's ******** return policy for new games. Hell, I was so pissed, I sent them a freaking letter about it.
Ugh. Well, at least I know to take the time to read a review or two before buying a game. I still need to get FF3, the Castlevanias, and I want to give Lunar Knights a try. There was another game I wanted to look into more, but I can't remember the name of it right now.
It's semi-late, so I'm gonna head to bed. G'Night!

Welcome back Buzz! That trip sounds fantastic, and you gotta make it happen. Whatever you do, get those days off. If you want, I'll go bruse up the other guy who's asking for the same days off.
@Omna - You know, I think that the best way to learn D&D is to just play it. After you read the book, why don't you sign up for a tutorial game in the Pen and Paper inn. We'll have you rolling natural 20's in no time!
@Everyone - Wow, there is a lot of news for my new kitchen. The delivery guys came yesterday and delivered the new appliances. I'm so excited because of how nice everything is. I've always had crappy ovens and old fridges, little microwaves and never had a dishwasher. Well all of this stuff is stainless steel, it's just gorgous, and the microwave is massive! Also, two of the big wigs at channel 9 news came over today along with the owner of the company who is backing all of this, and they are pissed at the shoddy work the contractor is doing. They saw that he is doing the bare minimum, and called him on the spot and chewed him out. He also lied to my face! My door is kindof old and beat up, and one of the companies behind this offered to make a custom door, but the contractor didn't want to do the work (the lazy jerk), and lied and told me that the people behind all this decided against making a new door.
Anyways, the news executives and the other people are determined to do this thing right, so they are probably just going to hire a new contractor to go over all the mistakes this douchbag made and do things correctly.
I love my new appliances. So posh!
And that, my friends, is the first time i've said posh in at least four years. So.. It's a special occasion.
I also want to give a special thanks to FL and Kraj for helping me brainstorm my regionals sideboard. Your insightfull thoughts have really helped me. You rock!
Well, I'm going to the grocer to buy sandwich stuff, sodas and some starbucks canned espresso for regionals. And a reminder to everyone going tomorow (especially the first timers), get a good nights rest before! It's vital, and make sure to bring some "rations", because you can never count on them giving a lunch break.
@ Alacar, well done for choosing hunter for Rotw, he certainly deserves, for he is practically here everyday keeping is cool and making everyone happy, makes you want to join the house just to speak with him, brilliant choice.
@ Hunter44, well done hunter, well done indeed, so jealous, you clearly deserved it though.
Ahhhhwwwww...Thanks LD. I really appreciate it. Anyway I think Im just fond of being in the house everday. Its so much fuN!
What's this? Regulars posting in the coffeehouse? It can't be! When I saew actual activity in here this morning I just about died.
I finally got around to beating the 8th gym in Pokemon Diamond. I'll admit, I got sick of constant level grinding and just took Dialga and Azelf in there. Turns out that thanks to my Marowak I barely needed them, though =)
I spent most of yesterday breeding, since Josh was nice enough to trade me a Ditto. I imagine someone needs to get that Ditto a cigarette and a couple of ice packs, yo.
@Danica: Ha, I like the face-find minigrame on NewSMB. My high score is 256 ^__^;;
I haven't been posting much here lately because I've just sort of felt out of it, and most of my online time has been devoted to the PnP Inn. Also, I've been working a really strange schedule, but now it is over and back to normal, and I get a long weekend out of all of it.
anybody feel like playing or talkin' via Pictochat or somethin' on the DS?
I don't know how to do that, but I can draw really well on the Pictochat. My favorite things to draw are genitalia and Pikachu getting stabbed, or sometimes just Dora the Explorer shouting profanities. It's hard to be blessed with such artistic talent.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
One time I drew an awesome picture of a Pikachu flying toward a brick wall after being shot out of a cannon ^___^;;
Actually, Josh's sister and I spent a lot of time yesterday drawing together in Pokémon. It was kind of fun. She was really excited to have gotten a couple of her favorite pokémon yesterday. I explained how effort values work to her, and the first thing she did was head for Veilstone to buy as many vitamins as she could afford, heh.
Which reminds me. I need to do that for a couple of my pokémon still. Buh.
Welcome back Buzz! That trip sounds fantastic, and you gotta make it happen. Whatever you do, get those days off. If you want, I'll go bruse up the other guy who's asking for the same days off.
Thanks everyone! Glad to be posting (somewhat) again.
I appreciate the offer, but the person asking off those days like a 60-some odd year old Japanese (I think) lady, whose pretty cool. Once the manager gets back from her vacation, I'll talk to her and see if we can't get something worked out. I'm actually going to dread that, because I don't like the way the manager acts sometimes. She acts real superior sometimes, and it annoys the crap out of me.
I appreciate the offer, but the person asking off those days like a 60-some odd year old Japanese (I think) lady, whose pretty cool.
Yikes! I get back online only to find out that I'm threatening a 60 something Japanese lady! I'm horrible.
Quote from Tanthalas »
@Sha: your kitchen sounds awesome, to the point that I'm really jealous. Our kitchen is nice, but the appliances are all in quite a small area of it, leaving a big area for dining table and other stuff. We have got a new washing machine, but that's because the old one blew up - and we found out on Monday that the clicking sound we'd thought was a loose bead in the drum or something was in fact a loose wire occasionally touching the drum . It's a minor miracle neither of us got a shock off it before it blew up.
Mine is going to be like that too, with most of the appliances all crammed together in one spot.
Hey folks, I'm back 2 hours early, since I got all my training courses done and done. This means I'll be up on the floor and working (almost) all on my own tomorrow. And tomorrow's their worst day of the week
Oh well, I'll live.
Good to see activity returning to the House I should totally take this time to do THIS WEEK's RotW, as well as start work on a healthy big dosage of Geek Mp3s.
Also.. The Waffle Iron Chronicles: Comments? Reviews? Suggestions?
Lemme listen to it today.. I need to get my mind off stuff... And besides, I don't really see how you can make it any better, cuz it was directly from all the other people in the 'House.... so its not relaly something that you can modify or change, cuz its people's interests regarding to music... just like Yellow Submarine was on there...
So my friend Holly may or may not come visit me today... she's the one with the baby and the husband.. I haven't seen her since.... I want to say her wedding, but I'm not entirely sure if that's true.... I think I've seen her a time or tw-- oh yea, I saw her the last time she dropped by my friend Shayna's house for a 'reunion' of sorts with the high school gang cuz everyone was home... That was over Christmas I think.. I'm not sure though.. yea it was around Christmas time... I'm thinking she may not actually do it.. she's a little flakey like that, not going through w/ something when she syas she will.. but eh, she's my best friend, I love her
Good afternoon everyone i am probalby not going to post for the whole day because i am going to make a big push to try to finish dragon quest 7. Ill probably post sometime later tonight though before i head to bed. Ill talk to you all soon though and have a great day everyone.
@buzz: i like your pic.

KH for GBA: It's not really the same kinda KH as on the PS2, but it kinda is. It IS a good lead-in to KH2 though.

G'Night!

Windmills do not work that way!
Also, a pretty late congratulations to Alacar Leoricar for the 2nd place in the recent tourney. How was the match against Martyr?
Ahhhhwwwww...Thanks LD. I really appreciate it. Anyway I think Im just fond of being in the house everday. Its so much fuN!
Thanks Omna. Hmmm I think youre kinda busy..^_^
@Buzz: Nice pic! Good to see ya again.
@Archy: Yo wazsup?
Well my internet connection sucks again. Just got lucky to post this. See ya guys tomorrow!!

Hey Buzz! Long time no see! Nice shorts!
Thanks Archy. To be honest, my deck has a very, very bad matchup against Snow Martyr. He locked me down hard and fast and it was pretty ugly.
At least I get that cool life counter from Rancored_Elf.
Alright folks, I'll be back in a little while. You be good now. Taa!

@Danica: Ha, I like the face-find minigrame on NewSMB. My high score is 256 ^__^;;
I haven't been posting much here lately because I've just sort of felt out of it, and most of my online time has been devoted to the PnP Inn. Also, I've been working a really strange schedule, but now it is over and back to normal, and I get a long weekend out of all of it.
I don't know how to do that, but I can draw really well on the Pictochat. My favorite things to draw are genitalia and Pikachu getting stabbed, or sometimes just Dora the Explorer shouting profanities. It's hard to be blessed with such artistic talent.
Buh.
Edit: Yes, my shorts are awesome.
Windmills do not work that way!
Yikes! I get back online only to find out that I'm threatening a 60 something Japanese lady! I'm horrible.
Mine is going to be like that too, with most of the appliances all crammed together in one spot.
Oh well, I'll live.
Good to see activity returning to the House I should totally take this time to do THIS WEEK's RotW, as well as start work on a healthy big dosage of Geek Mp3s.

@Kev: Good luck with the final dungeon in DQ7. It's a schlep, but if you've got the right job classes it's easy as HELL. Orgodemir presented a lot of challenge for me, too; a satisfying final boss =)
