So how does that work, Ally... Do we need to click on and save every single one of the songs??
I just woke up again, I woke up around 8, checked in briefly, now I'm pretty much up again around 10:30, and now I"m going to go watch Law & Order... Will check in again later
Yes, Omna--you need to right click, and save as, all the songs, until I've compiled them into Volume 5 (which should be soon, considering I'm just waiting until it gets long/large enough for a CD)
Regarding the Gamecube and N64? I agree with the sentiments here, but I gotta say, until the Wii version comes out, Super Smash Bros. Melee outshines the original.
In actuality.. there IS enough for a CD up there.. and a bit more, unfortunately.
Well i just wanted to say good afternoon to you all and i might hang out with my friend paul for most of the day so ill talk to you guys later though. I wish everyone to have a great day like always. See you all soon! Take care everyone! *hugs and blows kisses*
It is now 1:30, and I should work on my thesis, but I'm not especially in the mood right at this moment...... I'm kind of wondering whether Ryan's going to go to his friend's house for a poker night or back here to talk to me and work on the OGS stuff... he said he didn't know, see how he felt tonight, so we'll see I guess
I just finished the Time Spiral book..I need to pick up the Planar Chaos book sometime soon, so I can finish up the trilogy- I have the Future Sight novel cuz Ryan got me the fat pack for the one-year-and-six-month anniversary...Did I ever tell you what else he got me?? He got me, in addition to letting me choose that full set of D&D dice I told you about, a replacement chain for the 5-mana chain he got me for the 1 year.. .the original chain was way too flimsy and it snapped at one point...
Anyway, I'm doing good, just finished my book, now I gotta find somethin' else to read Probably gonna go for that Nicholas Sparks book I've got laying around.......
EDIT : Congrats to the duo for their dual RotW's.. Both are vital, integral members of the 'House and have been ever since the beginning, much like their sister Mamelon has been.. there's quite a few of the "old" folks here still, and I'm very proud of that... Alacar's been here sine the beginning, I have, Mamelon, ether and Photty, Crimson, Sapphire, when he can show up... lessee.. who am I forgetting?? a lot of you have been around for quite a while, but not the beginning... Hmmmm I can't figure out the TV, for some reason the remotes won't work... and there's no input/video switch on the TV, so I'm kinda stuck.... hopefully my friend will be coming by today to check it out.
Tanthalas, about your comment on depression, how it suddenly hits every so often... yea I've had that a few times this summer... part of it may be my own uncertainties about my relationship, which has the odd habit of hitting me when I'm least expecting it...and sometimes I get panicky or worried for no reason... I seriously need to relax, y'know? I don't know, maybe its a different kind of thing for you, Tanthalas, but yea, I do know and understand what it means to be hit with a bout of that kinda stuff.
Starr, I hope you manage to get that kitty puke cleaned up..I hate kitty puke... its annoying, especially in carpets.... My mom's had several rounds of cats (and dogs) puke on the carpet in the house and so she finally got it all ripped up and put in hardwood floor... much better now heh...
I just remembered I haven't played on my DS for a while, maybe I'll try to beat Mario again... or just do some minigames.... I'm not sure what i'm in the mood for.. kind of in a funk right now, i guess...
The only one I've ever read is FS since I won a fat pack at the release. The writing style definitely seemed aimed at a younger age group. I read it pretty quickly and it felt to me like there just wasn't a lot of depth to it. Not that it was bad, but I can't say it was really all that entertaining. It almost felt like a companion to the set to explain the events depicted on the cards rather than an actual story meant to stand on its own.

I've read the Ravnica book, but while it wasn't bad, it was.. well.. meh. It does tend to aim towards 9th grade reading level, though that might've gone down in quality since I was in 9th They tried real hard to make cameos of all the Rav legends.
Personally, I like them because they're fantasy.. I haven't read the Future Sight one, but I grew up with that kind of book, so maybe that's why I like them.. I grew up with the Star Wars novels, so I'm kind of used to books that are accompanying elements of a storyline, so perhaps that's why I liked them... I read Ravnica with Ryan, it was a good book, I enjoyed it quite a bit actually.... He and I have tried to read Guildpact together, but we kept running out of time or just didn't have the energy or motivation.. a lot of that was my fault, sometimes I just didn't feel like laying together reading.... I love reading but in order to read together, it slows us down a bit, and also it just puts us in close proximity... which makes me want to jump him
Actually, that addresses something I want to ask you guys about.... I'm feeling a bit like, I love talking to Ryan and stuff but I feel sometimes like I need to force the game aspect for us both to be comfortable.. I think its because we're not used to being separated like this, where just talking is hard for me to sense as a relationship aspect, which is what I fear will happen, that the relationship aspect will go down the drain and one or both of us will stop feeling for the other... Its just a disturbing thought, and I'm trying to brainstorm ways to enliven our connection while we are limited to online conversations....any thoughts??

If you've not heard of this one folks... you must have been living in a cave with special anti-anime shielding for the past couple of years. After its initial debut, this one burned up the charts, eventually making it to Cartoon Network in the States, and has now become as much of a classic, mega-popular series as Bebop and Trigun. Known in Japan as Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, and in the U.S. as FMA, this is one you shouldn't miss.
The story: Edward and Alphonse Elric were two siblings living a normal life in a normal village. In their world, the science of what is known as alchemy allows the transmutation of one substance into another, through a process restricted by the law of "equivalent exchange". All it requires is a transmutation circle and the right knowhow. Sadly for the Elric brothers, their father ends up going missing for some years, and then their mother becomes ill and passes on. Studying from his father's books, Edward concieves a plan: they will use alchemy to bring their mother back to life. However, due to the taboo nature of human alchemy and other factors, the process goes horribly awry, and instead of reviving their mother, Edward loses his own arm and leg, and Al's entire body is taken by the alchemaic vortex they summon, and his spirit is saved only when his brother quickly binds it to an empty suit of armor. Flash forward to the present: The Elric brothers, Ed now with a replacement metal arm and leg, and Al still a walking suit of armor, set out on a quest to discover the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary transmutation aid that will let them restore their rightful bodies and help right the wrong they attempted.
So... as I said, this one is one to see if at all possible. It has great action, a great (albeit complicated at times) plot, great characters, and a shocking twist that makes it even better towards the end. What more could you want? Just take a look at the awards it recieved on anidb: In 2004, the AnimeReactor community gave it awards for Best Story, Best Male Character, Best Fantasy, and Best Series Overall, in addition to winning Best Newcomer 2003. This is a truly wonderful show, and Studio Bones should be commended for bringing it to us.

The first thing that popped into my head, Omna, was to write letters. It's so much more personal than chatting or forum communication or even talking on the phone, and it's something people don't do much of these days so it's kinda special. And you can always toss in a picture or a little trinket or whatever. I'd just advise staying away from writing about serious things; stick with two-way communication for that.
Just a thought.

@P&E:
Congrats on RotW again. You guys are a large part of what makes coming here fun, and really add to the community. I love the Soap Operahouse, and I had fun in Natural 20 whilst I was a part of it. I don't do a whole lot of RPG'ing nowadays, and I don't own and never have owned a PS2, or else I'd probably join again. I'm still as of yet clanless (... probably because no one's created an anime clan... yet).
I have to agree with Alacar on the Magic Novels. I've read a few of them, and for the most part they seem like third-rate fantasy to me. They were just kind of... meh, compared to the fantasy gods like Eddings, Modesitt, Terry Brooks, and several others that I'd read before them. Even Robert Jordan's Conan seemed better to me. I think part of it was just that the Magic universe itself feels almost too generic for a fantasy world to have a book set in, but part of it was definitely that the writing, and especially the sometimes cringe-inducing storyline, needed improving.
I think Kraj's suggestion of writing letters is a good idea. Also, a phone call every now and then certainly can't hurt, even if it's just to talk about your day or whatever. The subject doesn't have to be important, it's the communication that counts.
Incidentally, if anybody's interested in an example of how one should never, ever write a fantasy story, take a look at this. You get a cookie if you can get through reading that thing without laughing. I mean, seriously, trying to read it without cracking up used to be a contest at sci-fi conventions.
Re. Tony Jaa: I saw Ong Bak back when it was first released in the US. Muay Thai is such a brutal fighting style, and Tony Jaa brings it to the screen perfectly. The Protector was also quite rough. They're the kinds of movies that make you cringe in sympathy.
Re. RotW: GRATS PHOTON AND ETHER!!! You guy are awesome.
Re. Fantasy Books: You all should read the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Its far and away the best fantasy series I've ever read. And yes, I've read Lord of the Rings. I like it cause it feels like it was written for adults, and not children like most fantasy fiction I've come accross. I mean, who can argue with the Wizard's First Rule: People are Stupid.

Quote from Mal Reynolds »
"Now, you could luxuriate in a jail cell for a while. But if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you."
Fantasy Novels: I've read only the books since Ravnica and I gotta say that they aren't too bad. There's a lot of problems in writing a book based on something that has to come out essentially every four months between releases and is essentially targeted for the 14-17 yr old audience. Not only that but many times the authors are forced to jam every single reference to the names of cards that they can into a book. It tends to leave a lot of things behind...
@Mr. Stuff's link: While it is indeed HILARIOUSLY bad I feel somewhat bad for laughing. Partly for the fact this was written when the author was 16... and that was in the 1970's. Also, if that Ozark is the same Ozark I'm thinking of... it explains way too much.
Edit: Mr. Stuff: I thought you were gonna make an anime clan here? Or did you already try that and fail? I don't remember...
I could try to start one... I haven't actually tried it in the past, no. [God] was almost an anime clan - at least, most of the people in it also participated in the Anime/Manga/Doujinshi thread in entertainment - but alas, it went the way of the dinosaur. I'm not sure if it's a broad enough subject to form a clan around, though, and I have fears it would just turn into a big Naruto/Bleach discussion thread, while myself and maybe a couple of other people tried to talk about other shows. It'd be hard to avoid spoilers as well. Then there's the issue of the already existing thread in entertainment... We'd have to work at getting some non-anime discussion thrown in there, or there'd be no point to the clan thread when there's already one just like it in entertainment. The idea is doable, but it'd take some work.
So, the Cleveland Colossal Convention is coming up this weekend, and I'm planning on going. Problem is, I just looked up the directions on mapquest, and it's a 4-5 hour drive each way. EEP. My wallet and my car are gonna hate me for this one. It'll be tiring driving that much as well... but as always, well worth it for the time spent there. The voice actor that plays Detective Conan and Dean Venture from Venture Brothers will be there, as well as some other people, and all the normal con things like the dealer's room, video programming, etc. It'll be a blast like always, I'm sure - I'm just not looking forward to the drive. I have work all day tomorrow, and then I'm leaving Saturday morning to start the drive up to Cleveland. I'll be up there all day and into the night most likely, and probably get back really late Saturday night.
Would...would anyone stone me to death if I said that I don't really like Fullmetal Alchemist?
I think it's mostly because of Edward. He just got on my nerves in every possible way during the entirety of the series. To me, he was a typical Square main character. I kept hoping that I was dreaming and the show was really called "Fullmetal Winry."
Well, I managed to get a Spiritomb tonight in Diamond. I'm going to try to grab hold of another Dialga because Josh's sister is intent on it being superior to Palkia. I hate to admit it, but she's right. Hopefully an American gamer will be willing to part with one in exchange for the really-annoying-to-unlock Spiritomb.

Now you can understand our frustrations when someone brings up console RPGs and everyone sits around and talks about FF or KH...
I'm having a pretty bad day. I'm touchy, tired due to being deprived from sleep at work and exhausted from having to admit a client into a psych ward over the past two days, with all the associated stress and bureaucratic nonsense that comes with something like that. And to make matters worse, my MP3 died for no apparent reason. My music is the one little creature comfort I depend on the most from day to day, and apparently it can't be fixed... and I can't afford to just go out and buy a new one any time soon... so I guess it's no music for me for the next couple of months... I don't even have a CD player anymore, and even if I did, burning my files to CD to listen to them just doesn't suit me well anymore- it's like Flowers for Algernon, now that I know how nice it can be to have everything together at once I'm not sure I can go back [/whiny white capitalist]
Also, apparently, I'm moving my brother into my apartment at the end of the month. Whee, four people living in a 2 bedroom apartment, what a hoot. God, I need a drink.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
@mr. stuff: isnt that full metal alchemist or something? or am i thinking of some other anime?
Meh my favorite basketball team got eliminated by the spurs in the NBA finals oh well there is always next year...
Well here is a ugw threshold list that ive tested some today and so far it has won me all 3 rounds today that i played against i won against goblins, the epic storm combo deck(TES), and the mirror(UGWR Threshold) I gotta say that this is probably my best and most well-rounded list i ever tweeked with according to me testing with thresh decks.
Well just wanted to stop by and say hello. I will probably post tommorrow before i go to work see you all soon and im glad i have sunday off hehe. Have a great weekend everyone as well and of course i wish everyone a good friday tommorrow. Have a good night everyone and ill be on aol if anyone wants to chat. see you all soon. *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*
You can use my Mp3 player in bed. It isn't loud by any means, but it works. There are two working CD players in the house, one of which has fresh batteries. I'll burn CDs for you if you don't want to do it yourself. I don't need a damned PSP or a Wii anytime soon. Seriously =(
I'm breeding Spiritombs, by the way, if any other D/P player wants one.
@ Hunter, hello hunter my boy, nice desktop you have there and I see you are slowly making decent progress with eberron, also on the note of not having a DS, don't worry I'm sure you will have one, one day, I better keep quite about owning all consoles of the past 30 years, I'm kinda a collector you see, its just so darn weird that some days I have nothing to play???
Yeah nice desktops..Wohoo!! Well about my D&D. im a noob you see.^_^ About DS, I kinda will save money for it..
@Stuffsy: YEAH! FULL METAL ALCHEMIST! FLAME ALCHEMIST FOR ME!!!
Sorry about that Photon--I know how it is having your music be the one comfort during the day; I keep my iPod with me at all times. Especially now, since my last one was stolen.
Yeah, it's a major cramp. Think how much people use music to relax and escape. Then realize that Photon uses it twice as much. It's a major bummer.
Mr. Stuff, I looked at that Eye of Argon link. Yikes.
By the way, nice choice on Anime of the Week. You picked one of my favorites! I was surprised to find I liked that story, since it's what I would consider "low-magioc," if you get my meaning. I suppose I can appreciate fantasy more now even without some of the more fantastic epic parts. Which is a good thing.
I like Edward, he's a hoot. Such an ornery little stinker.
I looked at the Chibi party . . . I wish I'd seen that before. It cracked me up, especially Liza. Though the part that really got me was near the end with Wniry drinking herself into a rage, and Al picking on Ed for all the food he eats . . . heh heh.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
@mamelon: i miss you mamelon i am doing good how about you?
Well last night i played another game against one of my best friends matt for casual magic he is a pretty good player no doubt anyway I was playing with my UG not so madness deck again with the new addition of 2 duplicants and 1 silklash spider he managed to counter and terminate both of them. We were going back and forth again same deck against same deck and he was at 4 life and i was at 4 life and i was going to attack him next turn to win with 2 faerie conclaves but he managed to win by lightning bolting me and then fire/ice me as well. Good game though indeed but of course he's rather really good with his RBU control deck which is his best deck until i teach him how to play solidarity though since he really wants to learn.
Well i am going to go work at my 7 hour shift soon ill be back later tonight though see you all then and have a great day or night everyone. *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*

I love the show, though it did start to wear thin near the middle, near the end it made up for it.

Now for some catching up.
@P&E:
Meh my favorite basketball team got eliminated by the spurs in the NBA finals oh well there is always next year...

You make it sound as if there are actually times at which bloodshed isn't appropriate.
Though the part that really got me was near the end with Wniry drinking herself into a rage, and Al picking on Ed for all the food he eats . . . heh heh.
