Things have been awfully slow around here lately. But that's not necessarily bad. This week, things appear to have slowed down somewhat themselves, which I'm glad for.

Yeah i agree mamelon things have been really slow in the house. Not much here mamelon just going to work and been playing some dragon quest 7 and finishing up the standard champs tournament. Next time ill play with a control deck though instead of a aggro deck that has alot of challenging feets when faced against just about every deck in standard. I also been watching my favorite NBA team the Cavaliers able to tie the playoff game series against detroit last night. How about you mamelon what have you been doing?
Well i am going to go eat breakfast soon and then go to work. Ill be back in like 10 hours from now yep i have a pretty long day ahead of me today. Have a great day or night everyone *hugs and blows kisses*

I know what ya mean.. it's been terribly slow in the House. But hey, people will come back. They always do. It's just a lazy summer I guess.
Wow, I'm up early today. I feel good today. I've been downloading watching Scrubs, and I'm almost done with all the seasons. I LOVE this show.
Yeah, I've noticed the house has been awfully slow of late. Sometimes that's a good thing though.
I don't understand this whole "Miss Universe" thing... I mean, Japan is the center of the universe, right, so shouldn't Miss Japan always win?
I'm taking time today to enter my collection into AnimeNewsNetwork's anime collection feature. They provide a page that hosts your collection for you with a persistent link, so you don't need your own webspace to show it off. I just finished entering the titles that start with "A".
Here is a letter I have written to my site director here at work. I have not sent it to him yet. I am letting my team lead look it over and was hoping for some feedback from you guys as well
I had been discussing sitting in on other departments with Merv. The idea is for me to get a feel for these departments so I can make an informed decision on the direction I would like to grow with this company. The two areas I am the most intrested in are the Quality department and Team Leadership. I also have some intrest in Training, but this is secondary to the other areas.
To get a grasp of how I fit into these roles, I felt it would be a prudent idea to share my understanding of this business with you. This way you can understand the strength and uniqueness I can add to this company. From your current perspective, I am nothing more than numbers mixed with opinions of existing and past quality and team leads. This opinion is something which I would teach to other employees. As a Team Lead or Quality agent, my role would be to teach my agents how to be better agents and how to get more out of their job.
Why do people call for technical support?
Most people think that people call technical support to get technical issues resolved. This is not true, if customers wanted technical issues resolvced they would have the Geek Squad or similar take care of it. They call us because they have something personal attached to the issue at hand, and thus need to resolve it personally. They either have a shaken trust and faith in the client (HP in this case) which leads them to question their own judgement in purchasing the correc t service or product, or they feel they have done something wrong and feel at fault.
The purpose of a tech support agent is not to fix the issue, but to instead fix the customer. If the technical issue was the primary concern, then all tech agents would require degrees or certificates. The truth is, to do the techical aspect of this job all you need is to know where to get the answer. Our job is instead to rebuild that customer's faith in their own ability and in the company they have chosen to purchase service from.
When I worked at previous call centers, one of my team leads singled me out to teach the rest of the team how to improve their quality scores. I assisted with other Team Lead activities, and myself and another agent ran the team for over a month while she was on sick leave. My focus, however, was quality. I sat one-on-one with agents and listened to calls with them. We analyzed their calls and went over ways to improve on what they were doing. I also wrote some training material which was going to be be implimented, however the client decided to change the quality process completely. They changed from one similar to the one we are currently testing out her, to one based solely on processes.
I am very excited about the new quality process we are implementing here for HP now. I feel it allows for the agents who do the job correctly to actually shine. It rewards agents for fixing the customer.
I am just trying to move ahead in the company. To do that, you need to get noticed. Squeeky wheel and all. Unless your boss knows you as more than stats and reports...you have no real chance. We make our own future.
"From your current perspective, I am nothing more than numbers mixed with opinions of existing and past quality and team leads. This opinion is something which I would teach to other employees."
This might be because I don't understand your company's culture, but to me this sounds framed as a negative statement, but then is followed up as if it is a positive. I don't quite get it.
Other than that, I feel that the message of the letter is a little scattered. You open by talking about the directions you're interested in pursuing with the company, then transition into your perspective on tech support, and then sort of end it. I guess it would work a little better for me if you tied the ending back into the beginning a little more; make a statement about what you hope to accomplish.
Those are just my thoughts. Best of luck to you!

Thank you
I started out by describing the direction I wished to go, and then why I feel I am suited for this. What I feel I would bring to this. The conclusion is that the new policy is what I feel to be a step in the right direction, and echoes my philosophy in regards to the business perfectly.
One giant rule of being promoted is to be replaceable. The problem is the better you are at your job, the less likely you are to be promoted. I am making a point of showing I am more than good numbers, but that I have a philophy I can transfer to others. Me as an agent = one excellent agent and 100s of ok agents, Me as a Team Lead or Quality agent = 100s of better agents.
I am showing that I am not only good at my job, but can replace myself.
@Hunter: I had a feeling you were going to tell me to pick the aggro deck. I just had some strange feeling you like aggro specifically MGA. I don't know though just a thoguh. ::saracasm::
Also, yea it depends on meta, by I meant like just overall (if that makes sense)
Well, I gotta go to friends house now so I gotta go now guys.
@Sakura: Listen to Kraj. One of the great lessons I learned at WSU's English department is that all too often when writing, we get hung up on including certain things or not changing certain things, which hurts our writing - that is, you have to be willing to "kill your babies", so to speak. The ending needs some more substance. It should come back to what the beginning was talking about, to give your point some extra oomph. Also, a connection that is clear in the author's mind all too often, unfortunately, has to be spelled out in bright flashy letters for the reader to get it. If they have to think for a minute about how the end relates to the beginning, then you lose their attention. Right now, you are ending with "It rewards agents for fixing the customer". Spend another couple of lines, or better, a paragraph, telling how/why that makes you a good candidate for promotion.
That aside - I just spent the last four hours updating my anime collection on the web. Now it's complete! The link in my sig is accurate once again. I also added a "currently watching" page, and will probably add a couple of more pages to make it more organized/searchable. Here are the links I have working so far:

Well i am 4-3 with mga in the standard championships and it puts me at 18th place out of 94 players or around there. The tournament was pretty tough for mono green aggro and it takes both skill and luck to get far.
Well i just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. Ill probably post later tonight and im pretty tired since i had to work 8 hours today. Ill talk to you all soon though. See you all soon! I hope you all have a good week so far *hugs and blows kisses*

Good news, I just had my medical exam today and YEY I'm a healthy girl! I just need to lose a few pounds as I am a little overweight. I don't look like it though, but I'll watch my weight more now.
Bad news, I just checked my section, and GOD my ex is my blockmate.
From multiply.com
I'm Ma. Rita Martha H. Santiago... anyway there. I'm both happy and annoyed. My high school's valedictorian is also my classmate... Camille Rae C. Lim. But I'm glad, some of my other friends are there too, that way it won't be too hard making friends.
Glad to see you doing well. Your ex eh? It shouldnt matter, we are all here.
@Hunter: Yeah, I've been peeking at the Mono-Green thread and saw that you guys only run 3 SF nowadays. What did you put in for the removed SF?
@Myta: Haaaaaa. I know who it is, just by seeing the name.
In other news, weather here in my area has been particularly pleasant as of late. The big news is that it's not dreaded hot. It's been raining the past couple days, which sees a drop of temperature. Personally, I'd rather have cold rather than heat.
Also, I thought I should start doing the Hunter thing. That is, putting songs at the end of each post.

Well... You know the drill.
ANIME OF THE WEEK
Series: Tsukikage Ran
Full name: Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran
Genre: Historical Drama - Martial Arts - Comedy
Episodes: 13
Ran Tsukikage is a wandering female samurai with a superb fighting skill that is only equaled by her unmatched love of saké. To her sometime delight, sometime chagrin, she begins to be followed by a disclipe of the "cat iron-fist" school of martial arts who calls herself Mao. They are often at odds, but unbeatable when they manage to work together. The two wander from town to town, bringing their own brand of justice where it happens to be needed, and drinking all the saké Ran can lay her hands on. No villain or his saké is safe when Ran and Mao show up in town.
Ahh, the popcorn western. This is Japan's version. No need for complicated plots lasting more than one episode. No need for complicated shades of good and bad. All you need is a gang of badguys to take over some misbegotten town in the middle of nowhere, and the valiant hero and sidekick to show up and singlehandedly save the day, (in this case, proverbial) guns a'blazin. What's up with those poor townfolk a'gettin harrassed by those rotten varmints all the time anyway? Regardless, this is some of the best uninvolving, one-episode-at-a-time, bone-crunching, sword-flashing, good old-fashioned beat-em-up martial arts around. If you're a fan of the genre, don't miss out.
@Hunter: Yeah, I've been peeking at the Mono-Green thread and saw that you guys only run 3 SF nowadays. What did you put in for the removed SF?

Miss Universe Should go to the prettiest lady with the best natural boobs
As for phobias, maybe its a past experience or certain things told to them at a young age that makes them all goofy about certain subjects.
Mine was good, albeit tiring. Today was very hot, and we were so busy at work, I kept feeling I was going to faint. Felt good to come home and take a long nap.
I notice that I always feel bad after waking up from a nap. It's refreshing, of course, but I always feel very groggy and touchy for at least a half hour thereafter. And it's only after naps, not a full night's sleep. I'm not sure why that is.

But, no, you little snickerdoodle! I'm supposed to win! Aren't I from the Universe?
@Sakura: I think Kraj has a point. Your letter isn't badly written by any means, but I feel a bit confused as to what the point is you are trying to make. I can see that you're presenting an image of technical support being more about overall customer satisfaction with technical savvy as only one aspect of that, which is a good perspective. However, as to some of the other things you write, like the passage Kraj mentioned, they seem unclear.
It just strikes me that perhaps you could explain what you mean by that in a more precise way. Do you think so?
@Tsukikage Ran: Ahh, I want to see that show. I always thought it looked neat, and I, surprisingly enough, enjoy samurai drama. The whole female martial artist in traditional Japan is a pretty fun angle. I like how Ran looks so girly in her dressy attire, and yet looks like a handsome man with a hair ribbon in her kendo outfit. Nice.
Great choice to review, Mr. Stuff!

So there!
I just finished eating some excelent spicy shrimp sushi. Yum. And I also made some red curry earlier, so the house is smelling nice. Other then this, it's been rather uneventfull lately. The only sucky thing is that I left my lights on in my car earlier and now the battery is dead.
I've also been in d20 mode lately, and reading up a bunch so that I can eventually run my own game.
@Phobias:
Natural phobias are inborn, something programmed into us by virtue of having killed our species in the past. Things like snakes, darkness, and falling are in this category. Other phobias are usually caused by some negative information about or experience with whatever item the phobia concerns. For example, if you are attacked by a dog as a child, you may develop a strong fear of dogs.
@Mamelon
Well, yeah, of course you're in the universe. Must have slipped my mind.
Interesting thing I read earlier today in Scientific American - Lavender and other fragrant oils may increase breast growth, in boys at least. A doctor at the University of Colorado diagnosed three otherwise healthy boys with a rare condition called prepubertal gynecomastia, which is a fancy name for breast growth in prepubescent males. He discovered they had all used lavender-scented soap, skin lotions, or styling products that contained lavender and tea tree oil. He had them stop using these products, and the breasts disappeared after a few months. After lots of chemical testing on lavender oils, it was found that they could mimic estrogens (primary female hormones) and suppress androgens (primary male hormones). Whether the oil can have similar effects on any other age group or gender is unknown. I thought it was ironic though, that something usually associated with females anyway can actually mimic estrogen and inhibit androgen somewhat.
That's facinating Mr. Stuff. I went through this period in my early 20's when I loved lavender's scent. I actually had a lavender plant in my herb garden last year.
@ Phobias - My big one is arachnophobia. It's intense, and at times it can be paralizing and others it makes me panic. I also have this wierd "spidersense" that seems to help be avoid running into webs at night. No doubt it's my subconscious, but it's still fun to call it "spidersense"
Boobs are overated. Boys are concerned with boobs; I'm more interested in avoiding being banned by not completing this scentence!
Heh heh. Now I'd love to see how it ends.

Man, I used to have tea tree oil as a kid, too, but I didn't use it very much. Why couldn't I have known this when I was prepubescent!?

In seriousness, I do like the scent of lavender. Maybe I'll get something with that the next time I order scents (I get them from a place that makes scents out of essential oils). It is a pretty femmy smell.
Other nice smells are honey, ylang ylang, bamboo, lily, cherry blossom, and cinnamon.

That's very insightful. Interesting, drawing a connection between instinctual fears and intra-species violence and killing.
There does appear to be a strong pattern of most people being especially afraid of spiders, snakes, darkness, and a few other common fears. All of these things have definite threatening aspects.

Ugh, horrible couple of days. Took yesterday afternoon off to let the plumber in to fix our washing machine, and he promptly never showed up. Today was up at 6, train journey with 2 heavy bags (going straight to my parents on Friday, so needed stuff for the weekend as well), lots of work, and something like 6 hours of travelling predicted for tomorrow. Oh, and an injured hand. Life just doesn't get better than this.
Geeze. Hope it improves soon. I hate it when things just seem to keep going wrong. *hugs*
Sakura: from my own experience, whilst it's a combination of the customer wanting both technical help and reassurance, it's more that they want the technical help delivered in a reassuring way. Obviously it's slightly different for me, given that we're a small company and so our clients generally know everyone on the team by name and often by voice, but a lot of the time they have simple problems that they could easily solve, but like to have someone confident solve it for them. You still need the technical expertise to do that, else you end up umm-ing and ah-ing, and that makes them feel worse. Unless you're really pushing to go into a training / quality control role, I'd consider pulling that aspect back just a little.
That's a very good point, Tanthalas. I feel that is often the case when something goes wrong with one of our devices. They are often mysterious and you don't know quite how to handle them, so one wants someone to be able to say, "Oh, yeah, I work on computers/vehicles/whatever! I'm an expert, I'll help you." It is reassuring.
Well, all, I'll see you later today. Have a good afternoon. *curtsies*

@hunter: by the way my opponent for round 7 conceded but I was like so what deck were you playing with and hes like im playing with 3-color sliver deck and i said well i am playing with mono green aggro and he said lol thats such an easy matchup for me because i run 5 wrath effects and im like you run mass creature removal in an aggro deck doesnt that defeat the purpose of playing aggro if your going to remove all of your creatures as well? He didnt respond to me after that though. Of course i ran 4 exalted angels and 2 decree of justices back in my big days in legacy in my uw control however my deck still classifies as a control deck even though it runs 5 mass removal and just some creature spells but i tend to use my mass removal before i bring in a exalted angel in play ive won alot of goblin matches that way.
See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses*
Cecilia Crest Magic Edit: About my casual magic game last night against my great friend Matt.
Me and him basically go back and forth like i counter and disk his morphling and torchling, and plague queen and he edicts, terminates, and counters my mahamoti djinns, rhoxes. I got him down to 5 and i was at 5 life too then he puts out an isochron scepter with a lightning bolt on it and couldnt get rid of it for two turns and in result he wins lol. It was a pretty fun match though even though i lost but I was proud of him for winning against a deck that i just built for casual my UG Not So Madness deck its a rather random deck thats why im proud of him and yes he is one of my panawans.
What is it about clowns? It seems like such an odd thing to be afraid of, yet it's so common so there must be something to it. Personally, I find clowns amusing, especially the "evil clown" imagery. I adore the horror B-movie "Killer Clowns from Outter Space".
My personal phobia would be snakes. I'm not paralyzingly terrified of them, but I definitely don't like them and get creeped out from watching them, especially in large numbers, or lurking in unseen places or seeing video of them striking people.
Needless to say I did not see Snakes on a Mutha****ing Plane.

Heh, crazy! My mom used to do that all the time when she drove over a bridge! Small world, eh?
Awww. Well that's good news.
@Miss Universe Pagent: I think we all know who should win that title.
Things have been awfully slow around here lately. But that's not necessarily bad. This week, things appear to have slowed down somewhat themselves, which I'm glad for.

aww i hope you will be able to have a good day and i hope your allergies subsides.

Thank you
"From your current perspective, I am nothing more than numbers mixed with opinions of existing and past quality and team leads.

She knows why.
Also, yea it depends on meta, by I meant like just overall (if that makes sense)
Well, I gotta go to friends house now so I gotta go now guys.
Be back later.
That aside - I just spent the last four hours updating my anime collection on the web. Now it's complete! The link in my sig is accurate once again. I also added a "currently watching" page, and will probably add a couple of more pages to make it more organized/searchable. Here are the links I have working so far:
(fanfare! applause!)

Now that I'm thinking... why do people have phobias? Mine isn't a phobia, more like a childish fear from way back... but really, why are people afraid of the darnest things like open spaces and stuff??? It's confusing me a little bit.
@LD: I was at the hospital the other day and whoop! Ghosts all over the place. Loving it. Had to bring one to oblivion near the nursery.

I hope the day goes well for you. That's a long shift. *provides Kevie with snacks*
I know who the winner is.
That's cute.

@Mamelon
@Sushi:
I want some...
@ Phobias - My big one is arachnophobia. It's intense, and at times it can be paralizing and others it makes me panic. I also have this wierd "spidersense" that seems to help be avoid running into webs at night. No doubt it's my subconscious, but it's still fun to call it "spidersense"
Oooh. Okay. Though I probably should have said "large breasts are overrated."
. . .
*picks up phone and orders a bunch of essential lavender oil*
Man, I used to have tea tree oil as a kid, too, but I didn't use it very much. Why couldn't I have known this when I was prepubescent!?
In seriousness, I do like the scent of lavender. Maybe I'll get something with that the next time I order scents (I get them from a place that makes scents out of essential oils). It is a pretty femmy smell.
Other nice smells are honey, ylang ylang, bamboo, lily, cherry blossom, and cinnamon.
Sushi sounds good. And red curry sushi sounds excellent - I want to try some of that.
I have limited experience with sushi, but I like what I've tasted. Mmm.
Awww, Mr. Stuff, you poor little Japanophile. It'll be okay. Someday you'll live there! *pats hand*
That's very insightful. Interesting, drawing a connection between instinctual fears and intra-species violence and killing.
There does appear to be a strong pattern of most people being especially afraid of spiders, snakes, darkness, and a few other common fears. All of these things have definite threatening aspects.
'S okay. I do have that tendency to be slippery.
Geeze. Hope it improves soon. I hate it when things just seem to keep going wrong. *hugs*
*curtsies*

Ive been doing well mamelon how about you? I just glad i have saturday and sunday off of this week again.
Thanks for the snacks.
Well just wanted to say good morning to everyone before i head off to work this time i only work 5.5 hours which isnt too bad and tommorrow i work 5 hours so the rest of the way is easy. See you all soon though.
