Hi Everyone!
So its summer...Still
and I haven't posted very much at all... Still
and yeah...
So I still havent seen transformers, and maybe if I'm lucky I can avoid the whole thing like I did with TMNT, Spider man 3, Xmen 3, 300, the last two pirates movies, and just about everything else.
I did see Evan Almighty, which was a good movie, but it reminded me why I don't see many movies anymore They cost like a zillion dollars... More of a reason I really really need a boyfriend ^_~
Anywho, I hope everyone is doing ok, or at least allright

Hey guys! Long time no see
What, did you pick up a Japanese accent of a sudden? Herro?
Good to see you again! Like Al said, it's been forever since we've seen you here. What've you been up to?
@Lily:
What, you hate movies now? It's not *that* expensive usually, if you don't get popcorn or anything. It's the snacks that they make a killing on. Last time I went I snuck in two mountain dews, some reese's miniatures, a box of pocky and a roll of sweettarts all inside my coat. Well, anyway, I've been continuing to check in on your forum. Gives me something to do on break, hehe. Don't get too down.
A belated Happy Birthday goes out to FoolyCooly6969. Hope you enjoyed it.
So, as for myself... I'm downloading the RAW (ie, no subtitles) first episode of no less than six new shows to watch tonight... in addition to the nine I'm already watching. The spring shows (Claymore, Lucky Star, etc) have gotten to about halfway, or episode thirteen. Now the summer shows are coming out. AAAAGGG. It's too much for this poor little computer's harddrive (and my poor brain) to keep up with. At any rate, I'll certainly have enough to do tonight. Mostly I'm looking forward to seeing Zombie-Loan, Mushi-Uta, and Shigurui.
@lilly: Yeah i am doing good. Although i have to work 40 hours next week. Glad to see you post again.
@foolycooly: Yes happy belated birthday to you!
@hunter44: hello hunter44 how are you?
@purpleD: welcome back and glad to see you again. I hope everything is going well for you and best wishes to you always. I am Cecilia by the way.
Me and alacar are participating in yet another MWS tournament together this time its Legacy! I am just giving him guidance on sideboard choices and what not and I have confidence in alacar that he will do well. Hopefully both of us make top 8. Looks like the field is going to be around 52 players though. Well enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone! Take care everyone. *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*

Yep, Kevin is right. I've entered a Legacy tournament with him. I'm gonna be running a modified "Three-of-a-Kind" deck, that uses white weenie, NO Stick, and a mix of control elements all in one. Hopefully I do well! BIG props to Kevin for the guidance he's been giving me.

I've been around, I took a little while of the intraweb to do well on exams, and I was also doing graphic design for my school paper, and that kept me pretty busy. I came back to salvation, started my own banner shop and now I'm just starting to wander back to my old posting grounds
I'm loving the changes! I'm disappointed to see no Captain Jack (from DDR) or any katamari geek MP3s, but I guess i'll have to keep checking for them.
@purpleD: welcome back and glad to see you again. I hope everything is going well for you and best wishes to you always. I am Cecilia by the way.
Whoa, it took me a while to recognize you. Good to see you again, though!
Anyways, I just got back from seeing Live Free or Die hard. IT actually wasn't bad at all for a cheezy action movie. The storyline was deeper than I expected (albeit far from deep) and while the stunts were improbable and the henchmen had the worst aim in history, it was one of the better action movies I've seen. If you enjoyed the other Die Hard movies, this one follows along the same lines.

My good man, don't you see? The Waffle Iron Chronicles has plenty of good songs, and some good Katamari Damacy tunes, of course! I HIGHLY recommend picking them up.
Well.. I'm getting the Transformers G1 series.. the movie got me hooked and I wanna see what the big fuss was about.
Good morning everyone just got up like about 30 minutes ago. I am going to get some breakfast soon and then head to work shortly after that. I will be on later tonight though after my 8.5 hour shift today im working a little more then 40 hours this week. Have a great day everyone and see you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*

Good day, coffeehouse! Man, I've been on and off the internet, juggling between coming here and playing Gothic III. One of my characters is almost finished with the game, so I started over with a spellcaster character. In doing so, I found stuff that I overlooked and got much more experience while actually accomplishing less than what my other character did to get to the same level.
Anyway, how is everyone? I'm sort of in a standstill. Not much to do where I am .
Well, have a great day everyone!

Well.. I'm getting the Transformers G1 series.. the movie got me hooked and I wanna see what the big fuss was about.
You poor deprived soul! You must watch it, post haste. I keep mine in my DVD folder right next to the movie and other animated classics like Sleeping Beauty and The Lion King. Which reminds me... I still need to get a copy of The Little Mermaid.
@FL:
Haha, I like the new avatar. Good luck with your youth parliament project.
I was listening to the radio today, and I heard this little gem by Brad Paisley. I thought I'd share it all with the rest of you, since it's definitely something most of us here can appreciate. In fact, I'd nominate it to be added to the Geek MP3s if you can find a copy, AL, on the basis of it just deserves to be.
So, Aeon just sent me an e-mail saying they want me in New York for an interview - in ten days - and I have to let them know within the next three days. EEP! That's not much time to get things figured out, especially since interviewing involves creating a 30min lesson plan and staying overnight in New York. Of course, the interview and travel would all be on my own expense... Boooo to that, I say. Oh well. If this is my ticket to the rest of my life, I'm willing to go out on a limb for it.
Just woke up guys. Ive just dropped by to say Hi to all coffeehousers. Im kinda busy at the moment so just be here dropping by or have my opinions on some topics I encounter here at the house.
Hey folks.. I'm back from work.. ugh we were BUSY today.. gawd.. I have no idea why.. guess those people that didn't shop during the holiday week came by.
I am getting Transformers post haste, Mr. Stuff. I would have FAR more in my collection if I had a DVD burner readily available! I need to start taking my shows, putting them on my 4GB iPod nano, then taking them downstairs to the computer WITH the DVD burner, and save the movies. But the process is annoying.. Gah! I had to delete Spider-Man just to get Transformers seasons 1-4. I hope they're good! Spider-Man was awesome, though I guess I can get it again later..
It's great that you had fun there. It sounds like it was awesome. I can't comment on the religious aspect though... *wanders off muttering to himself* . Meh, just ignore me. Taking all these calls for Christian organizations is starting to get to me.
@SB: That sounds like fun man. Anyone who reads my posts knows that I don't believe in God but I know that having faith in something is important. I'm glad that you were able to strengthen your faith. ...Did you mack with the ladies by any chance?
Lol, no, unfortunately. I gotta say, there were some nice-looking ones there, but there's no way I have the confidence to talk to total strangers :p. I did have a great time, though.
So I'm pumped for Harry Potter, both the movie and the book. The book is going to be insane, I'm so excited. I hope I can get it in time, though. Two days after it comes out, I'm leaving for Ethiopia for 2 weeks. Did I tell you guys about that? I'm going to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a mission trip with my church starting on the 22nd. It's going to be an incredible experience, and I'll tell you guys about it when I get back.

This is why I adore my PS3. Download movies, do a quick filetype conversion andI have my own digital movie box
And which spider-man are you talking about? First one was great, second one was alright and the third one had a great character arc, but I didn't like anything else.

I'm looking forward to the book, not the movie. the movie is going to be so dark, it'll be depressing. The book looks great though, and I hope it delivers a great ending to a very good series (and no, Alacar, I wouldn't dare click your spoiler button). Honestly though, even if I new the ending, it'd still be cool to see how things progress.
Along those lines, does anybody have a book suggestion for me to read? This is the first time in several months that my book reading queue has been completely empty. I love comic fantasy (Pratchett, etc), philosophy and social/culture books. Any ideas?
So... I'm planning this trip to New York right now. There's a lot that goes into planning one of these things, I'm finding out.
To drive there, it's doable, but it's a 10 hour drive. That'd put me leaving around 5:00am in the morning, getting there at around 5 pm at night, and burning 550 miles worth of gas. Taking a plane, the cheapest round-trip flight is around 200 bucks, but it'd make the trip only take three hours. The hotels (and believe me, I'm afraid of what kinds of cheap hotels they have in NY City) - the cheapest two-star ones I could find were around $50/per night. I'd need to stay for two nights. The interview location with Aeon is about 15 minutes from LaGuardia Intl Airport, and both of the hotels I'm looking at are again about 15 minutes from the interview building.
Mainly, I'm sort of nervous about planning a trip to NYC by myself. Ah well. I'll get over it. It's also kind of exciting. If they hire me, it gets even more exciting.
I still need to make up a lesson-plan, though, and do some actual research on Aeon to determine whether I'd like to go with them or NOVA. NOVA's interview is in Chicago, which might or might not be easier to get to.
Edit:
@PurpleD:
He means the 90's Spider-Man cartoon series. It was an awesome show - I remember watching it many a Saturday morning.
As for books - I cannot reccommend enough The Coldfire Trilogy by C. S. Friedman. It's some of the best dark fantasy I've ever read. If you like fantasy at all, you will love this series. It starts with "Black Sun Rising".
This is why I adore my PS3. Download movies, do a quick filetype conversion andI have my own digital movie box
And which spider-man are you talking about? First one was great, second one was alright and the third one had a great character arc, but I didn't like anything else.
Yeah.. if I had the money for a PS3, I'd have gotten a Wii with all the bells and whistles already. Either that, or get an iPhone.
This week we have our own resident busybee Alacar Leoricar as host du jour. He prefers to be called Alacar tho admits that no one ever bothers using his real name (Chris) online in any case. His full screen name comes from the days of Neverwinter Nights and necessity for an AOL name. Only later did Leoricar come about – and then only from necessity and Diablo-inspiriation. (Disclaimer: Alacar, in this use, bears no resemblance or inspiriation from Castlevania or any other Capcom video game.)
His dawn on MTGS came about in late 2005 around the time Ravnica was released. He was getting sick of the spoilers and wanted to comment on stuff as well so he enlisted amongst our ranks. Soldier Timmy was so proud.
Speaking of Timmy, it alone is his favorite card in all existence of magic. This came about as he was playing blue and saw that blue couldn't just stop spells in their tracks and bounce stuff but it could also kill stuff with the lil' guy with a magical rifle.
Unfortunately his favorite deck doesn't include Timmy but there are a lot of other worthwile mentions in that deck. Patriot Angels combines the flavor and sexiness that is angels with removal and burn in an American/French flag flavored burrito. He has a couple different forms for this deck – one for multiplayer, one for PvP – but below is the listing that won him a nifty little life counter in the recent MTGS online tournament:
Outside of Magic, Alacar Leoricar proclaims himself as a Geek among Geeks. Not one to be limited too much by his mild asthma and cerebral palsy, he's a fan of video games, D&D, anime, and nearly anything you can think of that's geeky. His dad, who is in the military, is heading back out to Iraq for a third deployment. May he be safe...
As you may or may not know, being close to his girlfriend, Heather, is chief amongst his hopes and dreams. Besides that, it's just about whatever any 20 year old would want – to graduate college and get a career.
He's been busy lately, among other things, working on Soltera block – a custom card set that happens to both be a prequel to white_rabbit's block AND a sequel to his own Academy block. Can't wait to peek at that one.
His favorite place on MTGS – the Coffeehouse – holds some important people to him. let alone food (chiefly popcorn and chocolate milk) and posts. For the facts about it I'll leave the quotes to him:
Quote from Alacar Leoricar »
Omna15-*SQUEEEEEEEEZZZE*. She'll understand.
Photon Eater-A truly great man. The greatest being to come to the Coffeehouse. A man that deserves to be sucked up to.
ethersphere-The most hardcore RPG geek I shall ever encounter. Huzzah.
SnoopDoggAtog-A great woman with wisdom far greater than I would know.
Sakura-My sexy babe whom I hope to meet one day, perhaps.
KoolKoal-Seriously, he's like, the Koolest Koal you'll ever meet.
Kraj-Best damn card designer I ever knew. Deserved to win the Great Designer Search.
Crimson Avatar-Good friend, great designer, cool cool geek.
Mamelon-One of the most awesome young ladies I have ever had the privelege of knowing. Smart, funny, cute, and very kind and sensitive. Never you mind that she looks male! She is woman, hear her roar.
So yes, I'm actually posting again. I just have to get used to reading again. Or, at least, just posting. I just dislike posting here without knowing everyone else's problems.
So today was my movie day. Well, every day is my movie day, but today was sorta my 'romantic' movie day.
See, I hate going to the movie theaters. It's uncomfortable, expensive, and half the movies suck, to me. So I like buying movies and sitting around watching them. Especially old movies. Yes, I will be writing a blog entry on this.
So today I went and got out some VHS's and just sat down to watch. Among a non-romantic movie or two, I watched the following: When Harry Met Sally, Roxanne, You've Got Mail, and I watched "Two Weeks Notice", even though the presence of Hugh Grant makes a movie a comedy, not a romance, to me.
I think the old movies are much better than current ones... Can't wait to go and watch "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" afterwards, which I've never seen.
My boyfriend is indeed a man who should be sucked up to. And I am indeed a gamer =P
@PurpleD: Oh. You're still around.
Pokémon has me really steamed right now. I'm not going into details, but I'm feeling more than a little cheated. But on the bright side, I caught a Sentret. It's the cutest pokémon that ever existed. I mean it's a flying squirrel - come ON with that =)
Good mornin' folks.. i know, I know I've been gone for quite a bit....
Well, I just want to tell somebody-- I've just splurged on a few things... got my plane tickets to Boston and Rochester, AND I bought myself and Ryan webcams... I figure.. why the hell not, cuz I want to be able to see him and sign with him, so he doesn't lose his signing skills, and so I just decided to go, "what the hell" and buy him a webcam as well as myself one..... this way, I can communicate w/ my other deaf friends as well, which is awesome.. But yea, I'm hoping this doesn't backfire on me... Its going to be soo cool and I wanted to share that bit of info w/ you guys...
In other news, congrats to Alacar on the RotW! And also, congrats to the interview in NYC, Mr. Stuff!
I've been going nuts with schoolwork.. i need to get some sleep, but that means just one more day of working... hopefully just one more day to finish this stupid midterm.. Then I can start working on my thesis... wihch is due July 25... OY.....

I'm not pumped for Harry Potter, but I AM going to the midnight showing tomorrow at 11:59. The problem is, I work 9am-3pm the next day.. ugh.

Any ideas?

Edit:
@PurpleD:
I'm talking about the 1994 Spider-Man animated series that premiered on Fox Kids.

ALACAR LEORICAR
2 Plains
2 Island
2 Steam Vents
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Flagstones of Trokair
3 Lightning Angel
3 Serra Avenger
4 Firemane Angel
2 Magus of the Disk
4 Looter il-Kor
4 Char
3 Electrolyze
4 Psionic Blast
4 Lightning Helix
3 Ressurection
4 Wrath of God
4 Soul Warden
4 Disenchant
3 Trickbind
2 Spirit Loop
2 Teferi's Moat
And so concludes another episode of RotW!
My helpdesk should you need me.
@PurpleD: Oh. You're still around.
Pokémon has me really steamed right now. I'm not going into details, but I'm feeling more than a little cheated. But on the bright side, I caught a Sentret. It's the cutest pokémon that ever existed. I mean it's a flying squirrel - come ON with that =)
Nice, Nai. I love "When Harry Met Sally". Kinda sad how it's considered and "old movie" these days. Makes me feel old.

She knows why.
OY.....
