Well I think it'd be good to notify people of the time that something is due. I don't know about most people, but for myself, if something is due on April 10th, it's due before the calendar turns April 11th.
That map might be confusing, because it doesn't mention GMT anywhere on it. All it tells me, for instance, is that I'm "U".
GMT would be Z, since Z has a value of zero on the chart. U has a value of -8, so if it's Wednesday 12:00 GMT, take 8 hours away from that. It'd be 4 pm Tuesday your time.
That's correct. CST = GMT - 6. Be careful though, as CDT (Central Daylight Time) = GMT - 7. But remembering those two things will make it much easier on the foreign posters who have no idea what daylight saving time is.

It's later here before it's whatever time in the US. You kids are half day or more behind, so it's easy for me - if I post when it's the 15th here, I'm waaay early by US time.
Voting will be closed at Midnight, February 28th, GMT.
So... we should vote in the next 24 hours or so.
Seems to me it's between 499, Greeks, and ARD. Although christopher mentioned RBS. To me, their entry was just a gray background with 4 faces pasted on, but okay. Any other opinions?
We could still give them our second place vote, to show we're not goint to play their rotten game... maybe?
Anyhow Brian check this out!
Pretty sweet eh? That's the Sombrero Galaxy, 31 million light years away. It has what they call a "supermassive" black hole at the center, having the mass of 10 billion suns packed into a tiny area. The crazy thing about galaxies is that visibly, they look pretty dense. Lots of stars in the arms and disk, and even more packed into the middle. But really, thre's so much distance between the stars, they have almost no effect on each other. The Sombrero Galaxy appears in the constellation Virgo, and can be seen with a small amateur telescope. The dark area around the edge is called a dust lane, and contains gasses and dust, typically found in regions of star formation. The center, around the supermassive black hole, has a lot of older stars, many found in globular clusters - thousands of stars arranged in a sphere, gravitationally interacting (despite the vast distances between them). Galaxies like this one are about 100000 light years across - it takes light 100000 years to get from one side to the other. They are closer together, relatively speaking, than stars are. The distance between stars is millions of times greater than their size. But galaxies are usually fairly "close" together - perhaps 10 or 20 times further apart than their width. The Sombrero Galaxy contains about 400 000 000 000 stars, and there are about that many galaxies in the universe.
That bright star to the side of the galaxy may look close to it, but it's actually close to us - it's in the Milky way. You can tell because of the spikes, that means it's in the foreground. The smudges in the background are other galaxies, further away.
Daron...this is one of my favorite pictures from Hubble. It is on the deepest pictures into space showing several million years into the past. My favorite part is the fact that most of these galaxies in the photo are 100,000 ly across but look as though they are right next to each other. The crazy thing....the space between the galaxies is so vast it creeps me out!

Ah, screw it, I drank again and am now sitting at work.
Also, I suck at being sober and should just keel over now.
Did you have a falling out with KJ? Don't turn into a lush that's all angry and bitter like Daron. Sitting in his place typing to people on AIM and farting noxious gases into the air and then complaining about how bad his ass stinks!!:p
Live and get high on life....
I guess now I need to look to Standard again since the Extended season came and went to fast!
Oh well....life sucks then you suck on life!:o

Hey, you know what? I feel good now. DUX saved the day. You know, really cheered me up. **** all this death. Besides, a trenchcoat is a horrible looking noose. KJ and I are getting along as good as we ever will. Its not the best, but I think its due to my callousness and protectiveness (are those even words?) due to my past. In liu of death... let me begin anew: Hey guys, I'm Zigathon. I really enjoy this clan's take on life (although that Cyan is a jerk [albeight an awesome one]). What does it take to join?
Even though the Greeks are acting like dirtbags, I still think their submission is the best, and the one we should vote for. Just because they act scummy, doesn't mean we should do the same.

Funny you should say that. I actually have a label saying "The Final Frontier" on my Space bar on my laptop.
What? I'm not a geek. Honest.

Yeah, I am still in shock about the hip-replacement surgery. I can't believe it. It won't be done for a month or two, then it'll take 6 months to FULLY recover; so 2007 is shot for the most part. I wish I could fast forward to Nov or something. I hope you are wrong Daron about it only lasting 15 years.
Zig if you are reading this, try using a papertowel next time.
EDIT: I think Ovinize may be a new favorite card of mine. A FOIL one would be nice... *nudge nudge*

Clan Drama: To be honest, I don't really think that the Greeks are deliberately vote-stacking. I think they're just... unusual. Hell, Rick Corgan gave us a first place vote in the GA thread, although most of the other members thought that the House Dimir "portrait" was the most original.
*shrugs* It's just some stupid contest anyways... everyone knows that the CALLED are obviously the best clan.
I'm sick as a dog. I've got a nasty headache, blurred vision, a hugely stuffed up nose, and I'm hacking up major lugies. I ought to go see a doctor about it, but in the condition I'm in, I'd probably wreck the car trying to drive there. Also, I think I might be hallucinating, although it's possible that I just fell asleep and was recalling my dreams. Either way, it really sucks, since the dream/hallucination wasn't the cool fun sort... it was one about maxwell's equations and vector calculus.
Obviously, I haven't done my electromagnetics homework that is due today.
I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.
[B][COLOR="Sienna"]I think Ovinize may be a new favorite card of mine. A FOIL one would be nice... *nudge nudge*
It's right up there in the top uncommons of the set, for me. Not that I like playing blue much, but that card I can agree with. Funny... and useful too. I got a few foils in my pulls. I think 2 or 3.
EDIT: I've joined an astronomy research website that is analyzing plates of gel exposed to open space. They're looking for bits of interstellar dust, which would be incredibly scientifically valuable. There are so many tiny microscopic areas to look at, and they're so hard for a computer program to analyze properly, they have to train amateur astronomers to do it. You have to pass a training program before you're allowed to help out, and then there are randomly inserted calibrations slapped into the mix, so every so often you're tested to make sure you're being diligent. Each area is scoured by multiple viewers so nothing gets missed. I don't know if they've found anything conclusive yet, but they have several good leads. Here's a screencap of my progress so far. It takes about 30 seconds to properly view each area. You have to use a focussing tool on the right hand side.
What has happened to the once proud clan full of the coolest people on the site?!?? Everyone has gone NEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDD!!:B:B:B:B

Saw Silent Hill today, finally. I thought it was a pretty decent movie.
