I don't know why, but it seemed like every possible piece of petty hgih-school drama that could take place today did so.
Well, today my girlfriend told me she wants me to "care more about her" and "I need to spend less time with my friends and more time with her", so I've had my share of high school drama today. I don't know what she wants sometimes.
Although I imagine you've probably had a worse day by the sound of it.
@ Yukora: Sorry to here that man. I usually stay apathetic to most of the drama in my High School. Unless there's a Physical fight involved, then I am taking side-bets, but in all seriousness that really sucks.
Also, everytime I look at this thread I keep reading it as [Magic CoffeeHouse] No Knockin' on Heaven's Door! I have no idea why.
It sounds like she wants attention. Based on the typical reactions to this sort of thing as I have seen them here on MTGS, you had probably better kill her!
In all seriousness, though, it's probably a good thing to be more attentive, but also be wary- if it gets to where she wants you to start cutting ties you have in your life, I would say that's a big, red flag of crap to come.

Well, I wish you the best of luck. I know stuff like that really sucks, but just keep your hopes up, and remember that things could be worse. Keep thinking positive.

Photon's right. Bros over Broads is the drude phrase that is popular around here. Never sacrifice friendship for a relationship.
Drama I mostly ignore, but I tend to care about the problems of close friends.

Thanks for the help. I forgot to call her Sunday when I said I would, because I was busy with my friends. I guess that made her angry, even though I said I was sorry about 50 times.
She's really a very nice person, but she just gets frustrated sometimes.
Yes, but her request is a huge red flag. You don't want to even flirt with the idea that that is an acceptable thing.
Well, it COULD be a huge red flag. It doesn't have to be. It really depends on a lot of other factors, most of which are contextual. There is nothing wrong with asking for attention if you feel you need it.
However, once again, I do stand by being vigilant to any sort of requests that are notably extreme, such as "I want you to stop being friends with these people" and what not, which are a lot more possessive and demanding than "I want you to make me a priority over your friends." Because let's face it, friends are great, but a commitment to a significant other is supposed to be more important- and all serious relationships are formed at least with some sort of interest in making the relationship a lasting one.

I'm sorry, but I can't agree here. Friendships shoud be just as lasting as a relationship with a member of the opposite sex, and if you were friends before the relationship, then the friendship should take precedence.
I'm gonna talk it out with her tommorow at school. She has had problems with her family lately, and I think its possible that she just may be taking her anger out on me.
I'm gonna discuss it with her, and see if I can help figure out her issues.
I wouldn't be so confident in my ability to dodge, if I were you. I've taken Rogue levels since then... you'll never know when I might spring a surprise attack from the shadows.
Geez...I go away for 3 months, and come back to you as a master of shadows along with being your old self? Don't know why I didn't see that one coming.
EDIT: ONLY THREE USERS VIEWING? Shame on you who aren't here!
EDIT #2: I'm off to bed. I'm knackered, and I've got a busy day tomorrow. 'Night!
'Fox.
*rushes in, out of breath*
Man, I got here as quick as I could. Deal or No Deal was on, so...yeah. That's kinda my show now. You must be knackered from out match earlier. 'Night.
Eleven pages, and I am dead tired. I promise to read it all later, but I am drained.
I don't know why, but it seemed like every possible piece of petty hgih-school drama that could take place today did so.
High-School Drama? Man, that stuff is not good for anyone, even in small doses. That's why I try to avoid that stuff as much as possible, and it usually works.

Well we're all glad you're doing ok, Cecilia. And if you're not doin' so hot, we hope you get better soon. *returns hugs, but not kisses*
Time for me to turn in, so I'll hope everyone has a good night. Actually, I might still be up a little later, but I'm trying not to let my parents know. Shhh...:sneaky:
EDIT: Aw man, now I CAN'T get off, because we're having a relationship arguement.
I say that if she says that she wants you to stop being friends with people who ARE your friends (I don't THINK that's happened, but again, I'm uninformed man of '07), then it's time to sit down and talk.
I'm sorry, but I can't agree here. Friendships shoud be just as lasting as a relationship with a member of the opposite sex, and if you were friends before the relationship, then the friendship should take precedence.
Um, okay, whatever. Once again, it's not a matter of the friendships not lasting, it's a matter of spending more time with one than with the other- in other words, a matter of priorities.
If a man ever told me that "I'm sorry, I know we are in a committed relationship and all, but my friends are just more important than you because I met them first", I would dump him, and probably kick his ass for being a douchebag.
If your significant other is nothing more than another one of your buddies that you HAPPEN to make out with, then you really aren't anything more than ****buddies, sorry to say.
Of course, it's a different story when you are just starting out. Again, if you are just forging a bond with someone, they shouldn't have the right to come in and tell you who you can and can't spend time with.
I don't THINK that's happened, but again, I'm uninformed man of '07
Again, I agree with Yukora- if someone you are dating starts telling you who you can and can't spend time with, then they are being jealous and possibly possessive, and you shouldn't tolerate it. However, jealousy is a completely natural emotion that (no matter what anyone claims) we all experience. Sometimes, people just need some validation and some extra attention. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Human beings are wired to crave attention from each other. It's part of being social organisms. So, if a loved one asks for attention, rather than getting bent out of shape, wouldn't it just be easier to look at the request in greater detail and figure out the origin of it? If it is because the person is immature and wanting more attention than the situation warrants, then it's a problem, but not a problem you cannot deal with. If not, then it's as easy as making an extra hour every day or so to spend some time with that person- and if you really have feelings for them, that should hardly be a chore.
Additionally, doing this in no way requires you to compromise your relationship with other friends. By the same token, if your friends cannot respect that you need to spend some time fostering a bond (a bond that, for the most part, they cannot share with them) with someone else, then they are being equally selfish.
Friendships are important. It's vital that we be able to maintain friendships. However, the relationships we share with significant others is supposed to be one that is more important. A significant other is practically family- and by the same token, they need to be treated that way. Would you get rid of your child because they came between you and your buddies? I should hope not. So, if a girlfriend would cut into your time with other friends, I would hope that it would be one of those facts about being in a relationship that you would be ready to accept, rather than treating it as some sort of annoyance to begrudge.
High School Drama... I don't really hang around with anyone except my nerd friends. I don't see much of that.
I hear you Cecilia, I'm getting tired of sitting at home all the time, my parents are getting on me more and more for going on the computer and that pisses me off on its own. I'm fairly sure that pure annoyance at always doing the same thing everyday will cause me to finally stomach my nerves and ask someone out. I can only hope...
In more positive news, my friends all nominated me for "Winterfest King" for the Junior year. They say if I'm actually chosen they'll come down from the bleachers to worship me, and one of them would bring me a turkey leg from his house for me to wave around. I can only hope I get the opprotunity ;).

That sounds...indeed festive. But...winterfest is real close to being out of date, isn't it?
Photon, I think you missed my point. I never said I'd be going solely for friends over girl friend. But, I would not let her ruin my friendships. Loyalty is big, and there's no way I'd let someone make that decision of my life.

Me too, which I said like... 3 times?
You always need to be careful when someone tells you that you need to change the context of your relationship with someone else, no matter how close you are to them. All I am saying is that if you are serious about having a girlfriend or boyfriend, you need to be at least somewhat serious about the potential responsibilities that come along with that.
You seemed to be saying that if ever a girl (or boy) were to ask that you spend more time with them than with other people that it was a clear and irrefutable sign of a person becoming overly possessive- to which I am responding by saying, no, no it isn't. If you are going to be in a relationship with someone, you need to be prepared to invest in them emotionally- even if that does mean a few less hours around the XBOX with the guys once or twice a week.
But it's also important to be your own person, and have friends and outside interests. Don't get me wrong. I just don't like the whole "bros before hoes" sentiment, because it implies that the relationship you have with a girl (or boy, if the circumstances are like that) is somehow less valid than a friendship, when it really, REALLY should not be.
lol at high school drama. Im full of it, yet i'm the most seclusive nerd at the school. I freakin brought Guitar Hero on finals day :xd:
I'm pretty sure he meant negative drama :p.
Although, thats really really cool.
I also just remembered that one of my friends told me Guitar Hero coming out for the xbox 360 wasn't a rumor anymore. I never checked that out though, can anyone confirm ?
