Mornin! What a morning to wake up to. Three inches of snow on the ground and everything is cancelled. You know the town's got problems when Wal-mart and the courthouse closes down (both are closed till noon). We got so much ice out there right now even the fuel trucks are getting stuck on the roads... Yucky weather.

Music of the Spheres :2mana::symu::symu: Enchantment Whenever Music of the Spheres comes into play, put two song counters on each creature. Creatures with song counters do not untap. During each players upkeep, that player removes one song counter from each creature he or she controls. Whenever there are no song counters in play, sacrifice music of the spheres. Rare
It's pretty good... I might go with Sphere's Lullaby or something like that for the name tho. That sounds more fitting to me.
Just one question tho: Would there be anything else in the set that can put song counters on creatures? It might be more interesting that way I think.
@ODINs: Never did an ODIN before. Never cared much for those or speed runs....

Put two song counters on any number of target creatures.
This sounds unclear to me. Well at least there might be some confusion. The original is much better since its less one-sided anyway. The second version should probably cost a bit more because of that. Plus since the second version is a sorcery, and this is a minor little thing, the second and third abilities never stop happening... that is they take effect for the rest of the game regardless of if there are song counters around or not.
@Shaharazad - I like the enchantment version much better, because sorceries with delayed abilities tend to have memory issues. The card can be either blue or white, but the music theme makes it feel whiter IMO. It would feel bluer if it had a "sleep" theme, like Somnophore.
@ODINs - Never done, and frankly it doesn't strike my fancy at all. I like to take my time when I play games. If I rush through a game, I feel like I didn't get to really experience the thing. It's the same way I feel about books.
Ah okay, thanks guys! I didn't consider the ongoing effects of the sorcery. I agree, the enchantment is much more balanced and easier to track. I just wish it was less wordy.
And yes, I plan on making at least a cycle (1 Rare, 1 uncommon, 1 common) of music enchantments for blue. The trick is trying to make their synergies balanced but still interesting. For the uncommon, I'm thinking a new version of Legacy's Allure, but the common is completly undecided.
I really want to make it blue because there are 5 power groups in my set (even though colors bleed over, this really fits the blue side). I agree with the "sleep counter" idea being more blue, but the idea is that this group has a manipulative, mystical power linked to song. Kindof tricky balancing all these things thematically.
Here's a question for all true gamers here: have you ever attempted to do an ODINS (one day in no saves) of an RPG, or a speed run of any other game?
I had ODINS in my kind of Life..Here they are
1. Final Fantasy 9 - Although Ive said Im an FF addict (check out natural 20 thread) and I had these games at 300+ hours at most, Ive tried to "ODIN" ff9 just because I want to have a grasp at Excalibur II. Its requirement is to be at memoria(disc 4) in less than 12 hours. I've got it in 11:26 and I my party is at lvl 30 average. I played it the whole day with no save and I managed not to have some gameovers. This is because Ive done this after carefully mastering FF9 in my previous addictive plays.
2. Metal Gear Solid Series - My friends have this "agreements" that we should have one game file that should be saved only once, and that is when the game has ended. The agreement must have no game-overs and at "Normal" difficulty. Its impossible not to have game-overs in "Very Hard" modes.
Whyizzet (lol) I read this thread and begin to expect spectral hoofbeats as the Allfadur lopes along the heavens on Sleipnir, surveying the living and herding the dead?
I don't play enough video games obv. But there is an awesome Youtube out there of someone bumrushing through Doom II in eight minutes.
Well, see, you do an ODINS or Speed Run after you've beaten the game several times and have enjoyed it. A good example of a speed run is Star Fox 64. How fast can you beat all 15 planets WITH medal on every single one? Or perhaps how fast can you do a run through of Super Mario 64. It's games like that, seeing how good you are.
Fastest on the Star Fox 64 is about 1 hours 12 minutes, I think.
ODINs are to gaming as pie-eating contests are to the culinary world, in my opinion.
I can see trying one for the hell of it if you have played a game many times through, but otherwise it just seems to be a waste. I sort of value length in RPGs, though. I figure if I am going to pay 50 bucks for something, it had better keep me entertained for a hell of a lot more than 20 hours.

To me, the idea of ODINS remindes me of hiking with this particular friend of mine. I like to hike at a moderate pace, slow enough to truly soak in nature and relax, but with I'm with him, it feels like a freaking military march! Fast as possible! I never get to see anything, just

wow. with MEDALS? im really impressed.
@Photon: yeah ur right. Before I do these ODINs I make sure I made my playstation swell in heat because of the never-ending spin of my game cd
Oh, yeesh, I didn't mean before you'd beaten it several times. You have to have in depth knowledge of the game to beat an ODIN/Speed run anyways. Like for Star Fox 64, you need to know the fastest runs, how many enemies for a medal, etc.
I'm awake at this late hour. I have my next two Game of the Weeks lined up, and I'll be all caught up. The final section of the Legend of Zelda set, and then another which I just beat.
Here's a question for all true gamers here: have you ever attempted to do an ODINS (one day in no saves) of an RPG, or a speed run of any other game?
ODINS are supposed to be hard for many games. Some games, like FFX, seem built for them with a very linear storyline that tends to level as you do. But I know an RPG like Tales of Symphonia would be near impossible to do.
Speed runs are just that: seeing how fast you can beat a game from start to finish of their main storyline. These are possibly for most every game, though they might be a bit boring. I remember seeing the Morrowind speed run, the one done in around 9 minutes using little to no cheats, and having my jaw drop. (Almost wrote draw jop there). Unfortunately, Speed runs are also very hard to do as you have to plan your route and then practice, practice, practice. It's interesting to look at.
The only two ODINS I've successfully completed are Luigi's Mansion, and Ocarina of Time. I know that Luigi's Mansion isn't impressive, but I was home sick and rather bored to tears. I tried it with FFX and just couldn't get through it. Braska's Final AEon ate up over 3 hours alone.
I did God of War 2 in like 30 hours; which seeing as how huge that game is I consider it quite the feat.
Speaking of being home sick, that is what I am today. My stomach pains still haven't gone away and it feels like an SUV is parked on my face. I'm heading out to the doctors sometime tonight to inquire about my stomach and I really hope that it isn't something bad like an ulcer or apendicits.
Being that I'm primarily an RPGamer, I don't ever do ODINs because, frankly, it ruins the play experience. I play games to savor pretty much everything about them, so yeah, no
I mean hell, Silent Hill 3 boasts an average playtime of 6 to 8 hours but I always clock around 13 by the time I'm done.
The closest thing to an ODINS or Speed Run I have bothered with is FFTactics. I generally finish the first chapter with an army of Dancers and myself as a Bard. Makes the game uber easy after that. I made friends stop playing the game completely the first time I did it.
Wow today is promising. I get up early, and it looks gorgeous out. I get everything I need to do ahead of time done and still have 40+ minutes, so I take a nap.
I get up still with plenty of time...and its freaking snowing. Its not sticking at all, which is worse because its miserable sloppy snow. The worse part, I have to walk to the bus station to buy my tickets today.
So I walk, and somehow miss the bus. I have no idea how, I left with about 5 minutes to spare over what I would normally need to make it and still buy tickets. I didn't even see the bus pass me.
After I buy my tickets it has stopped snowing and has changed to a drizzle instead, it only snowed long enough to hit me while I am walking.
I go to call work to let them know I will be late, and my cell has no service. The upgrade cell I bought put me over my account limit it seems. I go to the payphone, and some wonderboy is swearing up a storm in the payphone next to the free one, really loudly. (I know this guy too, he is a real prize. I want to punch his mom for giving birth to him)
Lucky the station attendant lets me use the desk phone, and lucky work is nice enough to get they late marked as a pre-shift voluntary time off instead.
I hate monday, now gimmee lasagne * ShinSakura kicks the dog into next week
I am sure the rest of the day will be fine though. We need these little tests sometimes.
I am glad I put my cozy sweater on,. today is such a cozy sweater day :-D

How is everyone?
That stinks so much sweetie. At least things worked out fine and you have that cozy sweater of yours. I'm feeling better than before. I went back asleep and slept till about noon; which is something that I never do. I dont need much sleep ever; 6 hours at the most. Thank you for asking
Things tend to work out in life if you actually give them a chance.
I work on little sleep as well, too much and I find it even harder to operate.
I feel bad, I think I seriously broke the heart of one of my close friends. The girl (Elisha) I mentioned the other week while I had my time off. We both had mutually decided to just remain friends with benefits. We had discussed something more serious and she declined.
This weekend I started a more serious relationship with Mytymaimai here on the site (and in my clan) and I told Elisha about it because I am honest and straight forward and she deserved to know. I told her I was still free to see her as I already was if she wished, and she got upset and declined. Now suddenly she expected something more serious. I don't even think she is happy with even just being friends now. I feel bad, though she did tell me she didn't want anything serious.
My life is such a soap opera sometimes, I swear I am going to wake up some day from a coma and find my evil twin has been lving my life...and that someone new is playing my character.
Blahhhh I'm more confused than ever... this is driving me nuts... maybe I'll talk about it sometime soon.. But this is really really annoying.. This uncertainty, this confusion, this difficulty... blah..
In other news, its officially 1 year since I joined Salvation...

I have a question for all you americans (and others may give their vieuw to off course)
If I'm correct, the age of driving is 16 and for drinking 21 right?
Shouldn't it be better to lower the drinking age but to heighten the age for driving? Here you can drink when you're 16, and drive when you're 18. I do know a lot of people who drink even before they are 16 (no huge amounts off course) but I don't now anyone who has driven a car before he had is licence.
No offense to you CCR but OH HELL NO. See the youth here seems to not so much have a problem with the driving at a young age but its the alcohol that's such the problem. Even the older youth have a problem with it. There's been plenty of times where even my friends have been drunk and driven. That ALONE is why the age is so high. If we could be responsible for it as a whole then maybe the drinking age could be lowered... but as long as the DWI numbers keep high as they are (at least locally) I can't see that happening.
No, it doesn't. Otherwise it would be broken. The idea is they mimic older enchantments but when in play they hinder you. The black one acts as Necro/Bargain but you need to either be able to win before it resolves (instant speed), counter it, or get a Platinum Angel or similar into play. If it had the "no lose" clause it would be retardedly sick.
I have never done an ODINS, but I tried it on Half-Life 2. Fun stuff. Lots of shortcuts, especially on the Hazard Course level. Didn't beat it without dying, but I DID finish it in 10 hours.
Guess I've missed a lot.
*Alacar hugs Sakura-chan I know how you feel when it comes to soap operas.
ninjedit: I don't like the cycle. Far too swingy. FAR too swingy.
Naturalize or counterspell, FL.. seriously, though it's too swingy and too easy to abuse, even with the high mana cost. Without an immediate answer to the enchantments, they're detrimental when they hit the board and too expensive to use other cards with. The Lichqueen card is okay, but if I spent all my mana playing the enchantment I'm kinda screwed.
Gee, I didn't get a special occasion thread for my one-year anniversary. Nothing out of the ordinary there, though.
@CCR: I'm gonna second Crimson here. I think having the driving age come first is good for teaching kids how to drive responsibly before they can drink. Of course, it doesn't always work out that way; I know in my town people start drinking from age twelve and don't stop when they're behind the wheel, but then again alcohol isn't the biggest concern in good ol' Crowtown.
