Thanks for the feedback on the card, all. I'm very happy with it. I think it's playable without being too easy to pull off, and at five mana it's fairly slow to hit the table and the timing of the trigger gives your opponent a final turn to find an answer. My favorite thing about it is that there are different paths you can take to set up the win; there's not just one strategy.
BTW, Alacar I love your placeholder. Quite clever.
About spam, I realize there are limits but I'd ask the mods to keep in mind that the environment here is very conversational, which is conducive to lots of short back-and-forth replies.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
@Myta: yes our hospitals are not very hospitable though. "You made tusok-tusok the fishballs?" You sound really like an Ateneo student. Goodluck on that toe though
@mr stuff: yup commonality between myta and I beiing filipinos made us talk like that. It feels very easy to talk that way.
@ Kraj: Whoa! nice card man!
@Omna: hey happy Clanniversary!!
@Alacar: I think with me around, we could get that 6000 posts..Nyahaha^_^
ANyway, I just got home from our lovely date. Here's a quick rundown of what we did.
1. We watched a movie
2. We rode a carousel ride
3. some arcade games
4. We played Magic "AGAIN". My MGH vs Snow White. I never won "AGAIN". We had no sideboarding though.
5. We ate dinner and then I got home
Whew. im tired. SOme refreshments Omna..With ICe please
Its night here...Oh well I guess good morning to everyone..
I'm not feeling very talkative today, so I probably won't be posting overly much. I just wanted to say hello.
About the topic of gender roles. I try to not let them have power over me. Like I said before, as an example, I was carrying a Chococat wallet (The cat in my avatar), and was called out for it by some "manly" friends. I just told them that it took a "real man" to carry such a thing in the first place. Of course I was being cheeky. I don't give it much thought, but I have some general and uninformed ideas about it. I think that there are biological roots for some gender roles, but that society has grossly exagerated them, and placed uneeded cultural signifigance on them, and this is where potential problems lie. To me, the aspects of "man" and "woman" are the simple virtues and flaws of humanity, spread out into two preceved extremes. I find that in our best moments, we demonstrate the positive aspects of the "ideal" man and "ideal" woman, and in our worst moments the opposite.
If any of that came out wrong, im sorry. Like I said, I don't feel like talking much today, so mabey my words will be awkward and poorly constructed. I just wanted to attempt to voice my feelings before the subject moved on.
I'm having an "off" day. I feel jetlagged.
Does anyone else have a wishlist for FS yet? The big one that I want is the blue pact. I also want a Scourge of Kher Ridges, because I had the fortune to spoil it in the rumor mill and write a review about it.
Does anyone else share my opinion? What do the rest of you think?
What I find fascinating about all this is, it wasn't always this way. There have been historical periods in the past when in was proper, even desireable for a man to be delicate, emotional, and able to cry. Case in point, there have been many papers done on Jane Austen's "Emma" which make the book out to be an argument for the modern-day type of manly behavior. The book was published near the turn of the 19th century, in 1815. Emma's father, who is delicate, a picky eater, and stays at home all the time, is made out to be a man of the past, so to speak, when in fact his character traits used to be desirable in men. So to answer the question, yes, I don't think it's particularly healthy to force someone to conform to emotional expectations solely based on gender.
*note: Men, in this case/time, means rich, British men, but it's still a valid point.
As for FS, I'm going to go look at the spoiler again right now. I can't wait for Saturday.
Btw, this is my day off, so if anybody wants to play a game or whatever, I'll be here. Not that I'm asking for one, I'm just saying I'll be available if someone needs one.
I've heard worse man... I know it ain't a pretty thing but... yeah... sucks big time. I hear that from my mom sometimes... but I don't follow her. I'm happy the way I am.
We "suck good and swallow better" around here. No malice intended.
Edit: (See attached)
Look at my toe everyone! It's all bandaged up cause my toenail died! Self-administered first aid. Damn clinic just gave me the gauze and the tape thingie. It looks like a big blob of... goo. *thinks of earthen goo*
And I have something for you, Sakura. I know I can't send flowers to you for real (nor do I have the money to), so I got a picture of one of the flowers I have in my garden. It's purple and reminds me so much of you.
Wherever you are, hun, I love you.
This is Myts signing off. Won't be here tomorrow as I have work somewhere else. Love to everyone (especially to Sakura!)
Thank you hunny, I really needed that. Honestly. Its one of those days.
I hate long distance relationships. It gets hard to know what parts are real and what parts are your desires superimposed on the situation. I was kinda in that place last night and as I woke up today. Is this real or am I reading to much into this? Having you randomly send me flowers like that made me realize I am being silly. I love you dearly.
* ShinSakura snuggles and smells her flowers
Only had one person ever give me flowers before. And they are gorgeous.
I do so wish though that I could see how you feel in your eyes, and feel how you feel through your touch.
Anyways. Very UGH thing today. I came in and they updated my work computer to XP without telling me. They gave nobody any warning on this. I am glad they finally did this, we needed it. Our systems were bogged and clumsey. The problem is I lost alot of projects in the process of being reformatted. I am lucky, I can scour the coffeehouse for the cards in my set. But I also lost all of the characters for my Collo game, some poetry, a D&D setting I was writing. I am lucky, I may have a backup of the Collo stuff in my mail from my last desk move, but I am not sure. I also had just sent all the art I had collected here to make my new siggies home last night so I had saved that. But I have lost so much work.
That just sucks! One of the most terrible things of our era is when we lost things on the pc. hours and hours of work, and there gone.
There are programs wich u can use to look at deleted stuff if you still have the same harddrive. As long as the space isn't used for someting new, it's actually still on you computer.
Grz CCR
While this is true CCR, I would get fired if I was found downloading and using such software on my work computer. Also, that kind of activity could be viewed as a security problem and lead to legal action.
@alacar: aww well i am sure ill be able to trade away alot of the cards that you want from your wish list. Im sure you have quite a magic collection alacar I mean you have way more rares then me.
Aw, thanks Cecilia. I'm gonna try to get all my rares together eventually..
Oh, men definitely have unrealistic standards forced on them.
For those of you who want to know more on gender 'standards' and want a bit of a chuckle, go to post #2 on this thread and look under the Geek Mp3s. George Carlin's 'Guys and Dolls' segment is quite insightful.
BTW, Alacar I love your placeholder. Quite clever.

Thanks, Kraj. I was thinking next round (and from now on whenever I judge) I'm gonna put a fake entry on my judgeholder post. Like, it could work as an entry, but it's invalid 'cause it's mine
Regarding spammage: I agree, but I also like the fairly new multi-quote button. Allows us to make multiple response posts, which is the favored way to converse on the Coffeehouse. Just look at most of Mamelon's posts and you'll see what I mean.
As for me.. chances are slim I'll go to the FS Prerelease. I'm having to budget my money very carefully, because I have to pay something like $184 a month. Doesn't seem like much, but when I'm only making about $100 every 2 weeks and getting $120 every paycheck from my sister (she's helping pay off some of my credit card debt, since she's the reason it's there), I've had to be very meticulous with my cash. So chances are, I'll have to trade for those Exalted Angels I want.
Luckily, my day today is nearing its end. Just got 1 more class, then work, then I'm going to a collection of plays for my Theatre class.
I wanted to ask you guys - does anyone actually enjoy reading these? At first I thought of it as a way of improving my decks with critique and clarifying my thoughts on 'paper'. But I've begun to really enjoy writing them, so I just wanted to know if it is worth it.
I do enjoy reading them. Keep up the good work! The last deck, though, uses Locket of Yesterdays, and almost no 4-of cards. If you're using the locket, you should maximize your 4-ofs so you can really use it well.
Edit: I just realized I forgot to put up AotW last night. Whoops! Look for it this afternoon.
Morning! Not much going on here as usual, except me doing some more laundry. Today is my last day off until Sat. I know I shouldn't be complaining, but I do love my days off.
Anyway, I'm up for some PCL if anyone else is. I'm also thinking of making another deck or 2 for casual type games, but I'm not sure what yet. So be on the lookout for those.
As for everything else, yeah. Kinda boring at the moment, but I'll probably go get some lunch soon or something.
SO I just woke up, its 1:30 pm here... I have an appointment at 2:30 and I was supposed to have some research done b4 then... and I'm hungry...
I see Ryan's away message says "I can't afford to be this exhausted. Sleep." I feel kinda bad for being the cause of him not getting very much sleep on Sunday and Monday nights, but Tuesday night it was all him... I hope he doesn't skip Physics unknowingly.. He would hate it if he did. and has a huggeee test on Friday for it..
As for my sleeping habits, I dreamed I went to Paris with Ryan... and the situation was odd.... since there was someone else Ryan was interested in there as well... and he like forgot I was there a couple times and started holding hands with her cutely... This probably reflects my insecurities regarding the future of our relationship because of how we recently nearly broke up, again... Things seem to be a lot better now.. I know at some point we do need to separate for a time, at least, in order for him to explore other relationships, and for me to explore myself and be independent... We're both just kind of starting to realize how strong our friendship and our bond is, so its very difficult to even contemplate letting go of one another... we at first thought we should take a leap of faith and let go of each other and see where that evolves to, but then at the end of the night we were talking about how much we would miss doing such and such together.. hwo we have so much planned so many things we want to accomplish together, how could we not do that together, or how awkward would it be if we were doing them but as friends... We had a genuinely good time on Sunday, where we spent some quality time talking and playing a game called Bookopoly (a monopoly centered around Books! ) and playing a bit of Chronotrigger together and I FINALLY beat Ursula.. now i need to move on to the next world.. I wondre what that will be...
Now as for me... I'm trying to decide what I should wear.... Its laundry time rapidly approaching so I need to figure out one of the nice shirts in my closet to waer, that I save for those days I dress up or when I'm out of shirts
White button down shirt with corduroy jacket and jeans, or white buttondown shirt with red long librarian outfit... Or a purple shirt with circles on it... or a velvet blue shirt or an orange button down shirt... hmm...:p
I really ought to do that research at the very least... its getting to be close to 2 and I have an appointment around 2:30...
Congrats on the 5800th Alacar! and I do wonder if we cna make it past 2000 posts today... Its probably possible! And Hunter, its not the Clanniversary YET... The Clanniversary is actually April 19th... which is tomorrow....
Ryan said he would try to pop in for it at least..
I also really need to shower, especially if I'm thinking of dressing up So I'm going to go do that now
I would comment on the gender stereotype issue but I really don't have the time. Perhaps later tonight.
Sorry to hear about your insecurities Omna...I can definately say I have been there.
You have too much crap in your life to have to be stuck worrying about this kind of stuff. I'm sure Ryan loves you, or he wouldn't be losing so much sleep over you would he?
I know at some point we do need to separate for a time, at least, in order for him to explore other relationships, and for me to explore myself and be independent... We're both just kind of starting to realize how strong our friendship and our bond is, so its very difficult to even contemplate letting go of one another...
You two should just hush up, get married and make babies!
My tongue is burning! :mad1: I made some oh so hot hot salsa.
I'm about to start up charcoal to grill some of my famous blackened burgers.
New blog entry today. More meat in this one than the last one. For the vegetarians I will write the next one in tofu.
@omna : You know the saying; "Absense makes the heart grow fonder." I used to missread that, thought it was "Absynthe makes the heart grow fonder" for a while, wow that led to some crazy nights. Seriously though. You can be independant and together. Perhaps you two are expecting too much from your relationship. As we grow up we build up this fantasy image of what a relationship is, then make the mistake of trying to make our relationships work like that. They don't.

Okay, seriously. I'm going to go outside and enjoy the day while grilling.
I'm feeling better too.
Oo, I almost forgot. Any chance one of you coffeehouse goers studies a Chinese martial art?
I love that card. Maybe better at 1/4 in my opinion making it more killable using direct damage, but otherwise, its a card id give over 20 easily
Yeah, I thought about that but 1.) as an alternate win condition, it'd be no fun to get everything in place just to have the creature killed, so I figured combating that would be good; and 2.) it's blue, so chances are you'll be protecting it with countermagic no matter what the toughness is.
Ultimately I think you're right but I'll probably just leave it. Mostly because I prefer to keep outside help on my cards on the level of general impressions rather than specific changes.
Just for the heck of it, here were the first thirty, spoilered:

Coffeehouse chat sounds fun. I get off work at 1:30pm tomorrow, so I'll join sometime after then.
CCR, No, you are not. My parents nag me on a constant basis. I understand where you come from, believe me. My dad hasn't been happy with me in about five years, no matter what I do.

Oo, I almost forgot. Any chance one of you coffeehouse goers studies a Chinese martial art?
I do. This particular deck isn't my cup of tea, but I've enjoyed reading the past decks you've done.
Dumb luck. I meant to write "grazie", which is Italian, but I misspelled it.
I agree! I love that button
Directed toward Omna and Arguas, not so funny. Sigged and therefore directed at any random member, quite entertaining!

Somebody, give me a random number from one to 30. I'll pick out the "x"th series I come across in my DVD folder and do that one.
I really should be getting a shower, getting lunch, making a copy of my taxes for filing, etc. Heh.

Di Gi Charat. Oh yeah. Me-kara Beamu, Nyo! Gemma!
It'll take me about 15 minutes to put it up.

This is taking me longer than I thought, due to the poor quality of the encode I had. I found one Di Gi Charat movie I hadn't watched yet, and, OH THE HORRORS! Direct quote from the subs - "The bad guys were betean". No punctuation, rampant misspellings, ack.
Coffeehouse chat sounds fun. I get off work at 1:30pm tomorrow, so I'll join sometime after then.
Yay! I totally love the sound of "Happy Lesson Advance".

If I can, I will be there and celebrate with all of you.
Ill be good FL. I promise :D!
Today was a good day. The ground finally dried up and I got to play Frisbee during lunch. And as I write this I am watching the ending credits for Lunar Knights which is a spectacular game. If you have a DS I suggest you pick up this title.
