Have a good day Shadowfox and Sephy! Our day is just beginning over here... I have class and appointments and such starting at 1, and then after my class at around 6, I'm going out to dinner and relaxing with a (hopefully two) good friend of mine.... Should really be a lot of fun, I'm hoping Then, depending on what time I get back, we'll have to see what I end up doing.. most likely relaxing around here and such...
@Shadowfox: CONGRATS on the job!! I know you've been lookin' for one , for quite some time!! OH, and while I'm at it... *sends good vibes to Alacar and Mamelon, both of whom are either starting their new job or continuing it
@Arguas: HELLO dear! Good LUCK on Physics!!!
EDIT @ Shin':
As an intresting note; when I bought my breakfast today the final price came to $6.66. I'm so doomed, apparently a Large Pasta Soup, a Tuna Sandwich, and a Large Milk are a source of your daily alotment of evil.
That's ..... interesting. you mean to tell me you have pasta soup, and a tuna sandwich for BREAKFAST??? O.o ..............where are you from again.... *looks at flag* .. is that how Canadians do breakfast??
Im not in school today because my family friend is on the critical list in the hospital. He is most likely going to die today or tomorrow. Him and I had an argument recently and I haven't gone to see him once while hes been in the hospitable and I think I should. We finally have a new thread.
Can I be a casual customer atleast I have like about half of my posts here or so.
*serves banana smoothie* I hope you enjoy, sounds like you have a long day ahead of you today, it must be incredibly hard to see someone you know and at least care about pass away in front of your eyes. Here's to hoping that the friend stays with us a bit longer.
As for the casual customer, that should be fine, I'll remind Omna about it.
@Umgenni: If she doesn't put it up, I'll try to remind her myself about it. This is a crazy week though, I might not get a chance. I may just send her a PM at some point soon just to remind her...
Have we got anything in the CoffeeHouse which is good for people with head colds? I had one come up overnight on Sunday, which was massively irritating - not only did it mean I slept really badly, but I didn't feel well enough to haul myself across London to see OK Go either :(.
.
Let's see... not too much in terms of the medicine cabinet here, but I could suggest some of the herbal teas that should be added soon. If I were you though, I would suggest an OTC allergy relief medicine to help with the head cold. Helps at least with the congestion.

Awesomeness on sharing the cake Also, that's kind of crazy coincidental with that cost. i mean, the only thing that's remotely evil there is the Tuna Sandwich. You didn't even get anything with chocolate there... I'm perplexed <_< >_>
Also, just curious if anyone saw the new list of set names I threw around last thread. If not, I'll repost when I next get on here, as I am still looking for some help.
EDIT: Seems Omna beat me to the punch to helping you out Tanthalas ^_^. For Omna and for everyone, I'm here in the Computer Science building trying to get my schedule set up. I'm kind of in lab technically to print out a Physics assignment to do while I wait in this kind of massive line of people also waiting to see the advisor.
It seems like Physics has also weakened slightly in its onslaught. I took down the first informal writeup with the second one due Wednesday, but I need to have calculations for the formal writeup done before class on top of the writeup. However, it will be easier now as the homework assignment I thought was due Friday is now actually due Tuesday, and my assignment for tomorrow at 2 in the morning (submission deadline) is supposedly fairly easy compared to previous assignments. This makes me a happy camper Onward to victory against Physics!
See you guys all later on, but please let me know if any of you saw what I had asked last thread.
Yay for ONSLAUGHT lightening!! (Sorry couldn't resist the Magic pun )
But seriously that's great about the changes... Good luck in getting the classes you want!! If you have the room for it, Yamonaco was telling me about a class called ASL Structure.. you might want to take a look at that.. might help out with your concentration in ASL.. I know you probalby don't have much room, but thought I'd mention it anyway
Anyway I really should be headin' out the door now... Bye guys, see you later tonight!!

90% of the time I don't want "normal" breakfast food for breakfast. Usually when I am in the mood for most standard breakfast fair, its not at breakfast time. As to the "no chocolate?!?" comment, who in their right mind would start their day on junkfood? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, if any one meal of the day should have the most balanced nutritional content, it is breakfast. This is dangerously close to turning into a nag/rant when I was just looking to express my views....sorry.
Generally not a fan of junk food. Have my cravings from time to time, but avoid junk food mostly.
Oh and Canadians invented Maple Syrup and Peameal Bacon...so that is probably more traditional/standard I would imagine.

Thanks, I really appreciate that!

Anyway, actually getting off now. Good day to everyone!
Hehe, Shin, I think you missed the point... Arguas himself hates chocolate so he was saying how the only truly EVIL thing out there, for breakfast could be chocolate.... Which i chuckle at... I love chocolate to a certain extent, but I must admit, I've grown to like Vanilla more as time goes on.... friend of mine had a vanilla sheet cake for his b-day and I was actually thankful as it was rather light
Hello everyone im in my Intro to Computer Systems class in school *sigh* i hate mondays they suck so bad. I lost the first round of the FCC *sigh* wasn't excpeting to win, but at least make it to the second round. Oh well My monday sucks how about yours?

Reminds me that this morning I was having a dream that my mother's favorite Jazz musician had died and I was sitting in our kitchen reading the obit in the news. At various points in the dream the name of the departed went from Pete Fountain, to Al Hirt, to Dizzy Gillespie. I have a funny feeling that it might actually turn out to be one of those rare "prophetic dreams" where a few days later, you read the news and lo - there's the person you dreamed about, passed on. I know she would be very sad to learn that someone she had seen perform live in her lifetime had died.
You guys really should add bubblepearl tea its like omg amazing. So I am really happy that Jason's site is OK and not blown up.
My mom said we're leaving in about 30 minutes to go to the hospital. Currently I'm watching the episodes of south park I missed this season
What was everyones favorite superbowl commercial, I fell asleep right after prince so Im not going to pick one, but I did like the rock paper scissors over the budlight commercial. I didn't think prince was very good. I'm sad the bears lost
*Yawns as he stretches out* Good morning everyone! I must have been real tired last night. I forgot to set my alarm clock's sleep mode on. It can play 1 of 4 different sounds like the ocean or the wind blowing. Kinda relaxing. You can set a sleep timer on it, and I usually put it on for an hour. But, I woke up to it at about 9:30 or so. Oh well.
I'm just looking in the paper right now, looking for a job. I swear, doing this is useless most of the time. But, hopefully I'll be able to find employment soon.
I started another file in DragonQuest 8. For this one, I'm using Swords, Scythes, Fists, and Swords respectively. Also, I'll probably get Fists as a secondary for everyone just to have it.
I cannot believe how cold it is outside. I grew up in the deep tropics and the last two winters here in Minnesota have been very mild, so I'm not used to it. Going outside is, like, an ordeal, and there are a number of things that are not in my dorm. At least our campus is pretty small...
S-Bad, you're from Cali, right? You're going to love it here, haha.
Good morning, coffee creatures. It seems we have a new thread.
It's amazingly cold here today- so cold they have closed all area schools. Being outside for more than a few minutes is almost painful!
Yes I have heard...it's also pretty cold here in MD/VA but the north is really getting the legendary low temps. I know in Mpls my friend says it went down to -30 and of course my old landlady from Int'l Falls always trumps us by saying how low it got in her hometown, usually about -40 or even -50. That's cold enough to freeze fuel, I've heard, don't know but it seems wise to stay inside and keep everything under wraps.
Failing that...
Yeah if you have to go outside, wear headwear, mittens (not gloves - can't benefit from countercurrent circulation keeping your fingers warm if they're separated) and face protection; loose thick scarf around the mouth and nose, shades or sunglasses to protect from freezing wind, a layer of lanolin or cocoa butter or petrolatum over the face and hands.
Don't work up a sweat, pace your work so you aren't breaking a sweat, because when your work load abates you will become chilled.
If you must go walking in snow and ice then take a small handcart or bicycle with you. The bicycle can do double duty, supporting you like a third leg, to prevent falls; and it can carry a load of groceries or laundry. I've used this many many times, when the snow and ice were too deep and slick to permit me to actually ride the bike.
When driving turn on your lights, even during the day. People's windows tend to fog up or frost up in the deep cold, they aren't running their vents, and they can't see. Bring a heavy blanket or sleeping bag in your car in the winter months so if you break down and get stranded (this happened to me outside a prerelease once in the snow) or end up having to wait outside for anything you can call and wait inside your car for a lot longer.
Take it from me...I used to bicycle to work in Mpls every day for years.
I wanna order a Raspberry Banana Orange Smoothie if ya got it.
Now. When's drag night?
(Has anyone played Triple Planar Chaos drafts? I've seen it done and so far it looks like a terrible format. Trible Betrayers was really fun but this doesn't look to be so.)

trips PC is horrible to draft. No removal, one or two people get the majority of slivers and go to town...black gets hosed...Really uneven.
@Mamelon: Thank you for your kind words... as for academics... Ryan is extremely intent on excelling in his academics... I tend to sometimes put more emphasis on those around me, and I'm less likely to focus as intently on my academic career.. and as a result, Ryan views me a bit more lowly than he otherwise would, because it would APPEAR that I don't care about my academics.. whereas I do care, of course, but when it comes to putting priority, I tend to put people first, before my academic life, and also for unknown reasons, I have difficulties focusing on certain assignments sometimes (papers, most notably)... and to him that reflects a lesser sense of intellectual capability, which to him is something he desires not to associate himself with, due to a previous bad experience.
Um . . . okay . . . I don't mean to stick my nose in, but could it be it's more his problem than yours? I mean, you both need to adjust, right?

Oh, yuck. Well, the recipe you have is obviously a good alternative. I don't know if you'd want to try it, but a recipe for the sauce someone made once involved soy sauce and pineapple juice . . . mmmm.
@Ripey: Bubble-pearl tea sounds amazing!
@Blue: Drag night is this evening at 10:00. I will be wearing a tuxedo.

I noticed there was a lot of removal actually. All red though -_-. The problem is that green just seems sooooo bad and everyone's fighting to play Red/X.
There are some good cards like Muck Drub. Counterspells in limited aren't great but a random mono black deck with 4 or 5 Dash Hopes wouldn't be terrible.
Thallids is definately not viable considering how inferior all of them are (except for maybe the Pallid Mycoderm)
The thing I noticed was that it's really difficult to deal with creatures that have butts bigger than 3.
Starr, that's really good advice for surviving the cold.
@Thallids: I love Thallids, yo.
@Shin': Chocolate isn't junk food, dear. Commercial chocolate candies, yes. But plain chocolate is among the healthier of sweets.
And I've had tuna fish for breakfast before, as well as other savory foods.

Good afternoon everyone! Finally on after this morning's mishap. Seems the apartment lost heat in the middle of the night for some reason. It's back on now but I was suffering thru some -5 degree farenheit weather. Not pleasant stuff...
Now I'm just waiting on FCC scores mainly... and playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Good game thus far but it feels shorter than the other handheld ones...
As for PC draft - I'll remember to avoid that. Thanks for the advice.

No, Blue has removal. May i point out to oviniize, pongify, erratic mutation, shaper parasite, serendib sorceror and other stuff. White has sunlance, red has <insert lots here>, black is lacking a bit though...midnight charm mainly.
The problem with most of that list is that they're nearly all uncommons. Uncommons are hard to get more than one of and in draft you definitely need 5 or 6 slots alone for removal minimum. Which leaves just red and blue as removal colors for the most part...
Yes. There's so much removal but Creatures rule PC drafts (and if you'll notice it usually rules the Time Spiral draft too). In other formats you could get away with 12 removal spells and 10 creatures with 2 mana searchers/fixers. In this format it's "Draft 8 good removal spells no mana fixing and 16 creatures that are increasingly hard to deal with."
The format isn't that fast and seems to be heavy control. the person with the best uncommon slivers will most likely win for sure. Darkheart sliver is really good but not in that color combination for such a small set with such crappy green slivers. The Red White and White Black are obviously really good.
erratic Mutation is fair but don't forget that Blue also sees a LOT of Piracy charms. The mutation can kill X/1s but in a TTP draft it's more likely to kill X/2s so it's far better.
Edit: I mean that with Piracy charm being in there (as well as a lot of other one drops) on average the Mutation will kill X/1s instead of X/2s like in TTP.
I wonder if the format PCx3 is slow enough to just use really aggressive six drops (and that three drop green guy that turns into a six drop with kicker.)
My favorite card of the set is probably (in limited at least) Jodah's Avenger. That card is silly.
Man, thank goodness the teach emoticon is back to normal. They shouldn't change it's too important *nods*. They should just make a :holiday: emoticon for whatever occasion it is.......
@Shin': Chocolate isn't junk food, dear. Commercial chocolate candies, yes. But plain chocolate is among the healthier of sweets.
That is completely true. In fact, oddly enough it is good for your teeth and does not cause acne at all. That is all the sugar and milk added.
I have a friend who runs a chocolate shop, and when I indulge it is usually there. He gives me free samples too.
Oh by the way.... * Shin' surprise hugs to Mamelon
@Starr: EEewww.. that sucks for you about the
mail troubles!! At least our deals seem to have been working relatively well!
@Ripe/Mike : Didn't watch the SB so I don't really know about the commercials.. but like Starr and Arguas said, I really hope that your friend pulls through a bit longer, and I hope you can patch over your differences.. I know from personal experience its quite sad when you're unable to say goodbye to someone you love.. I had to face that my sophomore year of high school... I was supremely saddened... I lost a good friend of mine who was like a second father to me, and who I looked up to greatly.. he helped me through a lot of personal troubles.. and one day I found out he suddenly had had a heart attack and died.. it was a sad day.... I knew from then on I would always ensure that I told everyone that i cared about and loved, that i loved them, that I would never hesitate to let those around me know how I felt, when I felt it. Sorry that ended up being longer than I planned.. oh and bubblepearl tea, I'm on it!
@Buzz : Good morning!! And I dearly hope you're able to find a job.. you deserve one, and at the rate everyone's getting one, I'm fairly certain you'll find one soon enough!!
@Photon/Joyd/Mamelon/Starr : The cold IS excruciating... and today I decided to go without gloves...errr... as long as I shove my hands in my pockets though it isn't too bad.. however, when the wind blows in my face, it can be rather annoying, because it effectively blocks off your breathing.... Also, thank you for the tips, Starr.. never quite knew that bit about the gloves!! Unfortunately being deaf, mittens are a bit counterproductive to signing
@blue : Good morning blue! Would be happy to serve you your Raspberry Banana Orange Smoothie! Enjoy!! As for Drag Night... O.o Well, to each their own... I think there might be a place down the street
@Triple PC... hmm I've only done it once.... Ryan and I did it on Friday nigth when nobody else showed up for our weekly Friday Night Magic draft.. or rather, I should say, HIS draft, but I just help him out as much as I can whenever I can, with it! Didn't quite see the flaws that you all mention... probably is true tho..
@Mamelon: About the academic issue... yes.. that is true... I think he is starting to see that I'm not automatically the same as his ex (the previous bad experience with intellectualism), but it still comes up every so often... I suppose this just means we're BOTH enduring change, which I think is quite natural and normal in a situation like ours... I just hope my changes help him along in making his own, as there is a lot involved in the change between two people in a relationship....
Pineapple juice and soy sauce.... Ooooo... sounds sooo good I love me some pineapple!
@Chocolate: I personally do like dark chocolate.... I find that if i have too much chocolate in general (Especially milk chocolate) I start to get a stuffed up nose and mucusy throat.. .the dairy reaction I have to milk and ice cream and such in general.. I suppose the same kinds of things are in chocolate as well... so lately I've been trying to take it light on the chocolate... Truffles are still scrumptious tho..... Shadowfox should make a batch!! And poor Arguas doesn't like it *pats him on the head*
@California Man: That's nasty about the heat...... Good luck in not having that happen again!
Ahhh now that I'm done commenting on everyone's post
Turns out I have a lot more work than I thought I did... and I lost my ID yesterday which means I need to go over to the Bursar's office and buy a new one... I'll probably grab something to eat from the vending machines during class... dude, I haven't eaten anything in the past day and 3/4's besides goldfish and truffles... I'm looking forward to eating dinner tonight out on the town.... we're going to the same sushi/Dim Sum place that Ryan and I went to for our 1 year anniversary.... Should be fun.. I'm leaning towards perhaps not going to the bar afterwards, simply because I have a LOT of work to do.. and dinner itself may take a while, what with conversation and whatnot.... apparently I need to get a lot more done tonight than I thought I did, and also, the next segment of my Senior Thesis proposal is apparently due tomorrow! AY! So that means I need to work on that stuff tonight, get that done, after dinner with my friends....
I also just printed up my application for graduation, filled it out, and now I'm going to go turn it in, as well as get my new ID (same building) and I also printed up an application for a graduate scholarship, which I need to fill out and ask folks to write recommendation letters for me and such... all by Feb. 28th.. We'll have to see. Anyways.. I need to get my ID, turn in my Application for Graduation, and I need to email or call my dad tonight at some point and explain to him why they're still letting me walk, and graduate....erk.. He tends to freak out over little stuff like that... But anyway..
Off to do that stuff!! Enjoy your day, all!! Like I said before, I'll be back later tonight!
Good morning, coffee creatures. It seems we have a new thread.
It's amazingly cold here today- so cold they have closed all area schools. Being outside for more than a few minutes is almost painful!
You're telling me. I only live... what... a couple hours away from you guys. BRRRR! I'm at my mom/dad's workplace right now, which is a welding/motor-repair shop, and I'm freezing. The place is a bit airy due to it having an on/off loading dock for propane deliveries and a big workspace for electrical repairs and storage. I'm in the office sections, but it still stays a little bit uncomfortable. However, on the plus side, I'm downloading Izumo and Eden's Bowy at 30k/s.
@Omna: I like the new avvy. I haven't had much time to photoshop lately, but I'll see what I can do either tonight or tomorrow night.
@Blue: I've done a triple PC draft from the 3/4 box I won. A R/U deck with 5xStingscourger and 3 Reality Acid won it. I came close with a R/W deck with 5xKeldon Marauder. Red is very strong in PC limited.
@Me: Man, they sprung a new inbound program on us today at work. They trained us on it our first 30 minutes there, and we started getting calls for it an hour later. It's for International Ministries or something where you can call and make a $58 dollar donation to "sow your seed in the ministry of faith" or something - it sounds really weird. Anyway, the international calls for it were a pain. I talked to somebody from London and somebody calling in from Saudi Arabia no less, and their payment options and mailing info setup were so confusing, not to mention them being hard to understand over the phone... I have to do this campaign tomorrow too. Ugh.
Have a good day Shadowfox and Sephy! Our day is just beginning over here...

Have a good day! *Downs the glass of milk*
Windmills do not work that way!
It's amazingly cold here today- so cold they have closed all area schools. Being outside for more than a few minutes is almost painful!
S-Bad, you're from Cali, right? You're going to love it here, haha.
Take it from me...I used to bicycle to work in Mpls every day for years.
erm...
or something.
Um . . . okay . . . I don't mean to stick my nose in, but could it be it's more his problem than yours? I mean, you both need to adjust, right?
Oh, yuck. Well, the recipe you have is obviously a good alternative. I don't know if you'd want to try it, but a recipe for the sauce someone made once involved soy sauce and pineapple juice . . . mmmm.
@Ripey: Bubble-pearl tea sounds amazing!

@Thallids: I love Thallids, yo.
@Shin': Chocolate isn't junk food, dear. Commercial chocolate candies, yes. But plain chocolate is among the healthier of sweets.
And I've had tuna fish for breakfast before, as well as other savory foods.

Now I'm just waiting on FCC scores mainly... and playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Good game thus far but it feels shorter than the other handheld ones...
As for PC draft - I'll remember to avoid that. Thanks for the advice.
The problem with most of that list is that they're nearly all uncommons. Uncommons are hard to get more than one of and in draft you definitely need 5 or 6 slots alone for removal minimum. Which leaves just red and blue as removal colors for the most part...
They should just make a :holiday: emoticon for whatever occasion it is.......
...
:teach::teach:
That is completely true. In fact, oddly enough it is good for your teeth and does not cause acne at all. That is all the sugar and milk added.
I have a friend who runs a chocolate shop, and when I indulge it is usually there. He gives me free samples too.
Oh by the way....

mail troubles!!
Magic Coffeehouse!
Come in, sit down, relax, get to know somebody!

Ugh.
Also, yay for a new thread.
Edit: Just found a blanket, so I'm a bit warmer.
I'll ask him, see if I can arrange something.
By the way, Hey Umgenni
