I hate monday. I second Sakura's motion to kill it dead.
I hope you get better, Danica. I also hope Ryan's been supporting you. I am 100% sure he has been, but I'd like to see a status report from him, ya?
Nai's 'button': I'm not pushing it. Why should I? I have nothing to prove. I don't need to prove my faith to you or to reality. If I'm right, then whoop-dee-freakin'-doo. If I'm wrong, then so what? It's my beliefs, not yours. Anyways, it's a good'un.
I'm going to work. I'll be back later this afternoon/evening and I'll post Regular of the Week.
@Button: I just wanted to clarify... earlier there were a few posts to the effect of "I wouldn't believe the button if it told me I was wrong". Saying that defeats the point of the thought excercise. The button is hypothetical, the point of it being that it is always right. So, saying you don't believe it defeats the purpose of the whole imaginary activity.
Anyway... I am tired. Very tired. I have a good meal in me, and plan to sleep now for quite a while.
Also, one other minor thing. I am buying this car. $2800 for a Teal 94 Pontiac in very good condition with 75,000 miles on it. I am loathe to spend so much money, but the car's in good enough condition that if I sold it, I think I might be able to get back as much or more than I sold it for. It'll definitely need some interior deco, though. It feels too nice and clean and new-car-like. I'll have to get some seat covers, a steering-wheel cover, and my "otaku" sticker out of the other vehicle. It doesn't have a CD player (being made in '94), but I can remedy that with my radio tuner for my MP3 player.
Once again, best wishes, Omna.
In summation: I am getting a car soon, and I am sleeping now. Good night.
If someone was confident in what they believed when it came to certain things, I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to press the button on issues that related to those things. The question wasn't formulated in a way that creates any cost for using the button.
If someone was confident in what they believed when it came to certain things, I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to press the button on issues that related to those things. The question wasn't formulated in a way that creates any cost for using the button.
It's just that in this case, pushing that button doesn't matter one way or the other. Depending on the kind of person you are, you would either push the button and shrug your shoulders at the answer or just choose not to push the button. I fall into the latter category of behavior, apparently.
Wow.. Mr. Stuff, I swear I've seen that last post you've made. That EXACT LAST POST before. With FL in front of you and Joyd after. EXACTLY. It freaked me out. Premonitions?
There is a consequence to pushing the button--finding out if you're right or wrong. I don't like being told my beliefs are wrong. This is America, dammit. I can believe whatever I want to. If I'm told that my beliefs are in fact wrong, then I'll have to carry that knowledge with me for the rest of my days. That I was wrong. And if I'm right, then my attitude will change. I'll start saying 'I'm right, you're not.'
Finding out an absolute truth is not inconsequential.
....in other news, my monday is over. Thank god. I'll get to RotW tonight.
I think there is a very important question that people aren't asking- What color is the button? I don't know about you, but the color of a button definitely influences whether or not I push it.
In all seriousness, I do not think I can come up with an answer to the question, as I cannot truly foretell how I would really react if given such an option. I can see myself leaning either way, honestly.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
I'm pretty sure a button like that would be red. I mean, "learn a universal truth and possibly mess yourself up mentally and emotionally" screams red button to me.
I firmly believe the button is located on Gato's nether regions...it make sense. If all the answers on the universe were on a rainbow button on the nether regions of a flamboyant and violently aggressive robot I doubt anyone would want to touch it.
This is good news for us gamers and anime fans with alternate lifestyle choices, for it means the secrets of the universe are ours for the taking.
Hello everybody! Just got back from work i had a pretty good time at work today i was pretty busy all day though for 8 hours. The first four hours i was the only courtesy clerk there so i had to do extra work but Ill never regret it in the long run know doubt. I just think its really important to get solid reputation for work and everything else you enjoy doing. Well im going to get off mtgs for awhile. Ill be on aol messenger and msn if anyone wants to talk to me. See you all later tonight! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone* I Hope everyone had a great day as well! Best wishes to all of you!
Remind me to have more philosophical discussion happen at the house, since we like to just discuss the issue without pressing our beliefs on other people.
Personally, I'd press the button. I have a whole Blog post dedicated to the button.
A Game of the Week will happen eventually. I've got one decided, I'm just not sure if I want to do the entire franchise in one go, or want to go game-by-game.
I got a joy of a surprise in the mail today. I got my clear DCI membership card in the mail and it came with a textless Hinder and textless Psionic Blast!!! I'm happy and bragging at my friends :D.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
Good evening everyone! How are you all? I'm doing pretty well at the moment. I managed to beat the Archer SCC for FFT, and I'm going to start another one. Probably Mediator.
Nothing much else going on though. I don't have work again until Wed. and thats only a 2 hour meeting from 8-10. Thurs is a 5 hour day and Sat. is 9 hours. That's a little much, but I'm gonna have to do it unless something else comes up by then.
I got a joy of a surprise in the mail today. I got my clear DCI membership card in the mail and it came with a textless Hinder and textless Psionic Blast!!! I'm happy and bragging at my friends :D.
Ahh, I remember when mine came. I was so surprised, and quite happy as well. Mine arrived with a textless Lightning Helix and textless Mana Leak. I'm quite happy with the Helix, but I wouldv'e liked to have gotten one of those textless Wraths or PsiBlasts though. All I did was go to each prerelease when a set came out, and maybe one FNM.
Goodnight everybody. See you all tommorow, when (hopefully) packs are handed out and I put up AotW.
I've thought about it a bit when reading everyone's responses, and I decided that I think I would press the button. Although I do not completely understand what it does, it seems like it tells you if your beliefs are right or wrong (not false or true but right or wrong, if that makes sense). I would hate to a be a closed-minded person who does not ever want to change his beliefs, so I would be happy to see if my beliefs were right or wrong, so that I can change them and live a better life.
I don't think that beliefs are something that can never change in a person. People's beliefs change all the time when they hear new evidence, or experience new events that shift their viewpoint. This button would give people the oppurtunity to learn how they should best live their life to achieve the best end result possible. I think that is a great thing, so I would definitely press the button. That's just me though, I respect your guys's decision not to press it, and I totally understand it.
In other news, I have no homework tonight, so I'll just be hanging out and relaxing, and hopefully I will get to bed early. Oh, and I've got to work on my FCC card. I've got an idea, but I need to work on it more. Have a good night, everyone!!
This week I thought I'd mix things up a little. We get the third couple to grace the Coffeehouse's front door--Crimson Avatar and Dreia.
Crimson and Dreia have been together since July of 2005. That means 1 year and 8 months, folks. They're in a long-distance relationship, and I applaud them for their patience and care. But let's delve into the typical 'getting to know you.' I'll start with CA, then move to D(rei)A.
Crimson Avatar, or just Crimson, or CA, or his name Mike, has been on MTGS since January of 2005. Dreia reserves the right to use the pet name Crimmy Dreia likes to be called her screen name more than her real name, Kari, but she'll answer to either here on the House. She's been with us since August of 2006, and really joined the Coffeehouse right off the bat because of her boytoy. You sly dog.
Their screen names are really fabrications. CA's name was really just an 'avatar', which happened to be 'Crimson', because no one had taken it and he liked the color. He chose Dreia's screen name, which, as she says, has a hint of girlyness and some tomboy. She likes it. I think it's cute as a button.
Crimson Avatar moved to MTGSalvation during the Great MTGNews Migration of Aught-Five. He moved to help recover the ARD, which is still holding on strong here on the forums. He also wanted to get into debate, amazingly. (He's required me by law to use this smiley after this sentence.)
Dreia came over because Mike just would not shut up about the awesome that is the Coffeehouse. Sounds like a good enough reason to join to me. If only I could get my girlfriend.. Actually, Dreia had only an inkling as to what the game Magic was, but thanks to Mike's teachings she's gotten much better.
BOTH of these two lovebirds agree: Best place ever on the boards? The Magic Coffeehouse. Represent. Crimson adds a major second to the Custom Cards forum. They love us, guys. They think the community is "like a big family spread across the world," as Dreia claims. I like that analogy.
When it comes to Magic itself, Crimson is the only one who plays. His favorite cards? Surprisingly, the plain and simple, yet effective Terminate and Rise/Fall. Mostly because they are always good to use. His current deck project is Simic Guildmage+Doubling Season with Triskelavus. It's a Johnny deck, if I ever saw one.
Outside of Magic, Crimson Avatar is a huge NY Giants fan. Srsly. Also NASCAR sometimes. Maybe some fantasy football on the side. Outside the scope of sports, he's a big video gamer, and is planning on getting 2 of the 3 next-gen systems.
Dreia, on the other hand, is a BIG, BIG, bowler. She helps run a local bowling tournament organization for kids and teaches the 5-8 year-olds. Ado'bol. Just Ado'bol. (Adorable, for those of you who don't speak Homestar) Otherwise, Dreia loves to cook. We should get her behind the counter at the House. She likes writing late-night poetry to soothe her soul, and though she's not too much into it now due to lack of time, she enjoys painting ceramics. Behold 2 of her works:
Crimson has a fairly simple plan for his future--graduate college, get a career, and finally get to Michigan to be with his beloved. Aw. Dreia plans the same thing, to graduate, become an accountant, but she's more specific. She plans to not only get with CA, but get hitched and have 2-3 kids! (Don't worry about it you two--it's just what she said. We're cool. :artist:)
As for personal projects, Crimson is in the midst of designing for Tnisk block's second set. Let's hope it's as kick*** as the first set. Dreia's planning on writing a second recipe book! Maybe she could use some of the Coffeehouse Recipes?
Crimson and Dreia are open books most of the time. CA admits that he got his picture in the paper after 'manning a puppet in a DARE play'. That's something I never would've thought of asking. Dreia is slated to be the Maid of Honor at her best friend's wedding--they promised each other at age 5 that they would. How sweet.
When asked about the Coffeehouse, Crimson loves the community and the priceless moments that can come. Dreia loves everything about it. It's the only place she visits on MTGS, and there are no cliques, no flames, no spamming, and everyone is nice and civil even during debates. Thanks, Dreia!
When asked what their favorite foods in the 'House are, Crimson nearly attacked me:
Quote from Crimson Avatar »
COOKIE!
* Crimson Avatar eats them all.
COOKIE GOOD! *burp*
See?
Dreia is shocked that we at the House don't have scones or biscotti available, at a coffeehouse of all things! She enjoys a hot chocolate, or anything she can have on the run. *Alacar joins the picketing for scones and biscotti
And finally, as I've been doing recently, some parting words for some of you Regulars out there.
Quote from Crimson Avatar »
I admire: SnoopDoggAtog - This is because she seems to post everything she talks about calmly and without seeming like she's gonna lose it. And trust me that's a lot of bad stuff she's been through. I dunno if, behind the curtain, she's essentially breaking down but, if so, I only wish I could look that good while I'm breaking down.
I enjoy having around: Photon Eater - Snappy wit, perfect sarcasm, humor. With all the serious topics that come up he's necessary and wholly wanted.
Quote from Dreia »
First and foremost, everyone is amazing. The few listed below I think I know the most about or there’s something distinct to remember. The list would be tremendously longer if more time permitted it to be so. Crimson—he’s my man and my sweetheart, it’s a given! He’s really helpful to everyone. There’s a hug to be given, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. I’ll spare everyone from all the sappy comments I could make. Arguas and Omna—you are the best co-owners of a Coffeehouse. Each of you has a busy life between school, FNM, and other social gatherings. Nonetheless the time is taken to visit, catch up on the house, and let us know what is going on. You must be good owners too if your patrons can easily stop in, get what they need, visit, and move along until another time. Alacaaaaaaaaaaaaar—you’re a good assistant and you always have a new card design or something random to share. Photon—your twisted sense of humor and the evil waffle iron are great. The Coffeehouse Soap Opera is just too hilarious. Ethersphere—I only know you a little bit. The biggest/only RPG master I know and you have amazing dedication to your boy. Mams—everyone truly does love you. Your way with words never fails to dazzle.
And that's it for our lovely pair. Give them a round! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
And of course...

Ooh! So that's the name of the Misia song! Thak you so much, CA, I've been trying to figure out the name! I love the song for how the singer sounds in it...
On another note, congrats you two. May your relationship live long and prosper.
Hooray Dreia and CA!!!! WOOOOOOO!
Nice, congratulations on your nearly 2 year relationship! Good luck on your dreams of getting together! I hope it all works out for you. You two deserve it as far as I know you guys, and that's enough! I've only been here at the Coffeehouse for a short time compared to everyone else here, and... I love all you people! (In a friend way) Good luck to everyone else on their relationships too! I hope I have as much luck with my girlfriend! See y'all later!

Now playing Transformers: Legends. 27-time top tier finisher and admin of the TFL Wikia site.
Just popping in before I run off to work. Thankfully I got some sleep this morning, and I plan on getting more in the car (I'm not driving yet; don't worry)
Evan, I sincerely hope you can overcome this new injury. Our prayers are with you and Omna.
Tanthalas, just watch out--if you wanted any, get em before you pass em out--anything that's chocolate and good disappears fast.
As for next week's RotW.. it will be one person. Don't expect it to be a regular thing. I originally just wanted to do Crimson, but I thought about Dreia too. So the best thing to do was to pick them both. I can't do that too often (Unless you guys start hooking up )
Alrighty, I'm off to work for 2.5 hrs, then to play some Magic on campus.
I hope you get better, Danica. I also hope Ryan's been supporting you. I am 100% sure he has been, but I'd like to see a status report from him, ya?

And if I've offended you, I'm sorry, but maybe you need to be offended. But here's my apology and one more thing...
So I'm sorta in traction the next few days due to a build up of lactic acid in my lower back. So I will be posting a lot more.
I can't do that too often (Unless you guys start hooking up )
Alrighty, I'm off to work for 2.5 hrs, then to play some Magic on campus.
ninja edit: Holy crap I'm almost at 5,800.
