My eyes have always been hazel, but they seem to becoming greener and greener as time goes by. It doesn't help that I wear glasses and have messy hair; people keep on saying that I resemble Harry Potter. They've even gone so far as to say I would have played Harry if I had been in the UK at the time. Hehe...
@Picture idea I asked for help: 2 sora's so far...I am gonna do a Layout of the rest of the Group members and list out the ideas of them as soon as I could and maybe you guys could decide what gets drawn against sora..
@Eye color: I have Sea Blue eyes and even in anger most people say that can't take my anger seriously due to when they look into my eyes I look innocent...I then start to laugh which also works against me...lol
Yes, I have actually. Its what I'm doing right now. I have to admit, its plenty more fun and not as much of a challenge as I though it would be. I just got past Bevernia Free City and Meiladoul's fine self, and the rest shouldn't be too hard either. Especially when 4 or 5 Life Drains can kill a Zodiac boss.
@Eyes: I think eyes are very important too. It'd be nice to be having dinner or something and just be able to stare into each other's eyes without being wierded out or anything. I used to stare at certain girls, just to make them freak out.
Mine, are a blue color. I'm not sure what shade it is or what'd you call it, but I like them, since blue is my favorite color.
Neither am I Crimson. Jealous gets us nowhere but pain. It is based on fear of loss, and usually due to poor self image. If you feel jealous, its is likely because you feel your partner can find something better or do not trust them. The first is your own issue and neither your partners or those who she/he talks to, the second is an indicater you either have trust issues or you are with the wrong person to begin with.
QFT. That's pretty much how I feel about jealousy... yet it's always a pain to get people who feel this way to understand how I feel...

Eyes: Mine are a pale blue - much like clean sea water on beaches. Not that pretty on me tho.
@Sapphire: Sorry I can't help on either account. Not much of an artist...
<_< >_>... I'd say a C is appropriate. Just a guess.
Also, not sure completely how to react to Coffeeboobs except... THAT WAS HILARIOUS.
Also, Dreia, you strike me as a kind hearted woman. I don't read any lesbianism coming from you at all in combination with those things. Kind of simple, but yet so complex. You seem perfectly straight, and you don't suggest to me otherwise.
EDIT: I as well am about the eyes. They speak of the depth of people, and you can read so much by looking into someone's eyes.
I agree with Arguas, Dreia... It never occured to me that you may be lesbian... then again that may have somethin' to do w/ the fact that ever since I've known you, i've known you were with Crimson... but seriously, I know how it feels, cuz during my first year of college I was told that people thought I was bi.. I was like, "UH!!?" Sorry ,but I like men WAY too much for that.....Arguas can testify that I'm definitely not lesbian or bisexual
And... C cup!? Always figured they were 34B maybe 36, but C? hmmm In any case they're a nice size for me, I do declare
About eyes.. I actually have similar sort of eyes.. mine fluctuate from blue to green to grey.... oftentimes one eye seems more blue/gray and the other seems more green... so one blue eye and one green eye... In that sense, Ryan said when he first met me that I reminded him of his favorite character from FFX (NOT FFX-2!) Yuna.
I actually believe similarly as Ryan does, about the eyes.... I can just read emotions in the eyes a lot of the time.. unfortunately it can get me in trouble every once in a while But I can see the truth in a person's eyes..... there is the real connection i think.... and Arguas didn't mention his eyes, but his eyes are the BLUEST you've ever seen.... Absolutely blue and omg....gorgeous
My eyes are brown, like my hair. They're pretty normal eyes, I guess. When I wore contacts I never took them out because I don't like touching my eyes. I'd like to say that I notice people's eyes, but I can't think of what color any of my friends' eyes are. (Other than the ones that I might guess based on their ethnicity.)
Blonde hair blue eyes here. I hate it. I refuse to dye my hair, but I'm gonna get myself some contacts. I'm thinking of getting the ones that look like cat eyes.:glee:
Theres a lot of really loving talk here today. And it is a nice change from the boobs talk from yesterday, regardless of how funny that was. It seems like we all have somebody special here. And I just wanted to comment how nice it is :).
My eyes? Bright blue. Hair? Sandy dark blonde. I love my eyes. My mom always told me that they were like her grandfather's.
And I'm happily in love with a woman, and I've been straight all my life.
We recently had a discussion about gay marriage downstairs at dinner. I wanna keep this discussion brief, but there's 2 points I wanna make.
1) Under the State Constitutional Amendment that made marriage between a man and a woman in Tennessee, it says that it's illegal to have a marriage unless its between a man and a woman for a lifetime commitment. This basically says that divorce is illegal. I KNOW for a FACT divorces happen all the time in Tennessee, so why enforce one part of the amendment, and not the other? Needless to say, a group is already forming to challenge the amendment.
2) I firmly believe that anti-gay marriage laws prohibit a fundamental human civil liberty to be joined in the eyes of the law with someone, because to the government, all marriage is just a contract between two people regarding taxes, records, etc.
That is all.
YAY I FINALLY GOT STEAM TO WORK! I'll be playing Half-Life, Half-Life 2.. oh lord I've been waiting forever for it to work!
It's been a bit huh? How's everyone? Good, I hope.
I have a question, perhaps some of you can answer this better than others, none the less, advice is needed. How does one approach people, who you don't know and have never met before. I mean, how does that happen. I guess I'm just that much of an introvert that I can't even talk to other people without feeling uncomfortable, which is understandable, at the same time, a little annoying though. I'm settled in a lot of my relationships and I feel comfortable to those people, or rather with or around those people but, ugh, I'm rranting now.
So help me fellow coffeehouse goers, help me break out of the shell.
Most likely way too late to make this comment but too bad. I'm currently working for a company that used to make breast implants. This whole massive conversation about boobs made me think of that.
(Definitely not confessing my size.)
I forgot my thought on eyes other than color. I think eyes are a very mysterious thing, but I definitely like them. Each person has their own unique color, just a little different from someone else. They're always awesome to look at and look into. It's probably my favorite physical aspect of a person. I'm more of a personality and sense of humor kind of person.
Jealousy----I don't think Crimson and I would be together if either of us were the jealous type. I would say he's pretty open with comments and whatnot. I'm a huge flirt according to some, but a little flirting never hurt anyone. I personally don't like go out of my way to do so, but I may be a little over flirtatious (if there is such a thing). I'd hope he'll agree that we're open. We obviously won't do more than flirting, but innocent comments happen.
On that topic, I think the lesbian thing comes from me being so open. If I have a female friend who's being cute, I'll definitely tell her. It's interesting to see how people think about the topic. I would say at most, I have bi-sexual tendencies sometimes. Meh, it's all part of life to me.
On hair color, that's a weird topic for me too. I was born with jet black hair and that's what I have in my baby picture. It fell out sometimes after that. I'm not really sure days or weeks, because no one has ever told me. After that, it came in blonde. Since then, it's been getting darker and is a deep brown during the winter. I'm thinking of dyeing it an auburn color and getting a perm. Straight hair all my life is driving me nuts.
I'll agree with Evan that the change of topics is pretty nice. It is interesting that it still involves physical features of people. And it's not vain (I definitely wouldn't expect vanity from people here anyway.)!!
By the way, cranberry juice in here???
EDIT: usekungfu...just start with a hello. It's a bit uncomfortable to talk to strangers, but hello goes a long way. It seems in modern times, which has been our whole life for most/all of us, that people are not used to kindness from strangers. A simple greeting may catch people offhand, but they will be more welcoming and warming. If you're not ready to actually talk to them, or lose your external voice when it comes to saying hi, start with a wave and/or a smile. It's amazing what the power of something so simple can do. It may just cheer someone's day/week/time up as well.
Theres a lot of really loving talk here today. And it is a nice change from the boobs talk from yesterday, regardless of how funny that was. It seems like we all have somebody special here. And I just wanted to comment how nice it is :).

Classic Science Fiction of the Week : 2001: A Space Odyssey
This is perhaps the most epic piece of science fiction ever written or filmed. Many people have trouble watching this film, as to those not ready it can bore a person with its grand symbolism. 2001 was written and developed jointly by the genius of Stanley Kubrik and Arthur C. Clark and grew loosely from a short story written by Clark in 1948.
Released in 1968, 2001 saw mixed reviews being labelled as both the greatest science fiction movie ever and also the dullest movie ever. It is very likely that you could try and watch 2001 and not be able to finish it. It is arguably the most cerebral movie ever created.
Visually, this movie is amazing even by todays standards. There are many scenes which can be listed easilly within the top movie scenes or sci-fi scenes of all time. 2001 is a true graphical and artistic masterpiece from this perspective and melds visual cues and sound (both ambient effects and music) flawlessly in a way which no other movie has ever truly matched.
I am going to skip the spoiler tags for this movie, because even if you know what happens it will not detract from the movie. In actuallity, having some insight at the onset will make a first viewing much easier.
The movie starts at the Dawn of Man in Africa, where we are introduced to two competing tribes of pre-men. We see early man starving trying to live on shrubbery, being hunted by wild predators and fighting for rights to the remaining water hole. One morning our tribe awakens to find a large black monolith, from which point we see a step forward in evolution as they learn to wield bones as simple weapons and learn to hunt and eat meat. The advanced tribe then takes the watering hole back by force and we see what appears to be the first murder.
Jump ahead to the year 2000 as a scientist is travelling to the moon for a debriefing on a secret project. The movie shows great depth and detail in showing us every technological aspect of this future world, and obvious great attention was put into realism (though there are some nitpickable offenses). 2001 is very likely the most realistic science fiction film ever produced.
On the moon we discover that a second (first to the scientist's perspective) monolith has been found on the moon and it gives off a signal as the sun touches its surface. The scene mimics the Pre-men's discovery of the first monolith. The second monolith is obviously purposefully buried, and seems to be a signal that man has reached the "off world" phase of its development.
Cut 18 months ahead to a mission to Jupiter. The majority of the crew is in deep sleep for the voyage and we only meet Dave, Frank, and the computer HAL (an infalable AI who is treated as part of the crew). HAL determines that a part of the communications array is faulty and will fail but it is discovered the part is not at fault at all. This leads to suspiscion that HAL himself is faulty and to a decision that HAL must be shut off. HAL reads the two crewmember's lips and discovers the plot, he then kills attacks Frank with his own space pod and sends him off into space. Dave goes to rescue Frank in his pod, and HAL locks him out, and Dave is forced to jetison his friend in order to free up the grabber hands of holding his friend to manipulate the emergency hatch. Thus forced to allow Frank to die, and discovers HAL has killed the scientists.
Dave shuts HAL off, and in the process unlocks a message which explains his mission. We discover that the Monolith had transmitted a signal to Jupiter and the ship was sent to investigate and possibly make first contact if an alien presence is discovered.
Dave eventually makes it to Jupiter and discovers the monolith, which pulls him within. We see his perspective as he is pulled across the universe at the speed of light and eventually finds himself in what seems to be a hotel room where we see him pass through various age progressions until we see him on his deathbed with a monolith at the foot of the bed. Next he transitions into a fetus or Star-Child and is seen watching over the earth.
My thoughts : At the beginning of the movie we see mankind born when some abstract figure is brought before it, from which point we progress forward. We become smarter and more cunning, but at the same time we become violent. A divine being (read : God. the Monolith is a symbol for Creation) inpires us with what we need to become stronger and to survive, and of our first actions is to murder. Next we see man in space and we have discovered another of these abstract symbols, and we react to it no differently than we did when we were hardly more than an ape. This shows that though we have fancy technology and look more evolved, but in essense are still apes. Moving forward again we are introduced to HAL, which believes itself flawless even as it murders the crew to protect itself from its own mistakes. HAL represents the Mind, or Ego. We as people often forget how fallable we are and refuse to believe we can be at fault. HAL in this movie is shown as Mankinds next step in evolution, one which we impose on ourselves. Man melded with machine, yet still a beast at heart. We make bad decisions and fault others for them. When Dave is transported by the monolith we see him transformed into a celestial being who watches over the Earth. I am of the belief that he was sent back to the dawn of man again and become Creation.
So from Creation to Man to Mind. Mankind is constantly seeking the divine but finds it within himself.
2001 is an amazing movie, and considered among the 50 movies everyone should see.
Side Notes : Marvel comics had an ongoing series spawned from 2001 written and drawn by Jack Kirby, it was here that he first introduce Machine Man to the Marvel Universe.
I chose the book cover of the movie instead of the movie poster this time because the image was more iconic.
Just one person interested in a draft? Darn.
