Ether, I came across the "George Takei" video clip in an entirely roundabout way. I just want you to know... That video tape rocks my socks off. Or something to that effect.
Nai, if you have no idea, is the Moderator of the Colosseum, one of the best subforums on MTGS that has nothing to do with Magic (<cough cough>Pen & Paper Inn<cough cough>). He's been with MTGSalvation since January 1st, 2005, and with the Coffeehouse since November '06. He prefers to be called Nai. He's been using that name online (and offline I suspect) for seven years.
The name, Nai, is derived from a character he wrote in the 8th grade. "Naidu" was the name of a smart-cracking Raven character he created a while back. On AOL he added "Rikku" to the end, since he was into FFX at the time. He added "Nebel" at the end of Nai's name later due to a roleplaying need for a last name.
Nai joined MTGS back during the younger days of Salvation in August of 2004. He applied for Modship of the Colosseum, and was then removed by Belgareth and Xenfire, but then came back for Gaymers. When Sen left his position open, Nai got his modship back. His short-lived WP Legendary Tales failed miserably, according to the House's foxfolk.
Of the forums, his two major pleasures are the Colosseum and the Coffeehouse. He feels a freedom to be whoever he wants and do whatever he wants on the Colo, and let his creative muscle flex. The Coffeehouse is his second choice, but it's always open, just like the Colo, on his tabs in Firefox. (Whee firefox!) He loves the Coffeehouse! I would sum up what he has to say to the House, but I think he expresses it best.
Quote from Nai »
Everyone is friendly, willing to talk about anything. People don't ignore each other, and you can always get sympathy or a kind word for any problem. You can also help others, something I like to do. Even more in addition to that, the Coffeehouse is a safe haven in the tumultuous entity that is the Internet. People are brusque to each other; they are hateful and mean because the 'net provides anonymity and won't allow you to be targeted by others. This is true even on 'Salvation, even though we have rules against it. You might not be flamed, but you're not going to be tolerated. The Coffeehouse, on the other hand, includes people that are kind, who actively want to talk to you, who care about each other. It's a place of friendship and love between people. A place to be yourself, whoever or whatever you are. It's unique among all the sites I've visited, and so I will always stay there.
Aww, thanks Nai. Here's a
Concerning Magic, Nai really hasn't played much--the Preconstructed League is his first foray back into Magic on a daily basis. Wellwisher, Tek, Draco, and Eight-and-a-Half-Tails are his favorites. Wellwisher becaused he OWNED with Elves once, Tek and Draco because of their true awe-inspiring awesomeness, and Eight-and-a-Half-Tails because A) It's a foxfolk and 2) it's a nifty, useful utility in White Weenie.
He has 2 favorite decks: Onslaught block Elves and Kamigawa Foxfolk. Elves have always been and will always be a total pain, and while I've gotten tired of playing with Elves myself (my Johnny brain thinks it dull), Nai's big Timmy inside just bursts with Joy. I'm not too keen on Foxfolk, but he describes using Sensei Golden-Tail and Eight-and-a-Half-Tails.
When he's not letting his Timmy Squee on MWS, he prefers to Role-Play on the Colosseum in either MTGS or MTGNews, RPing on IMs or via e-mail, or playing RPGs online and offline. Watching anime and playing video games are his geeky past times when he's not playing a role. He's a big book reader geek as well; Omna would squee, I'm sure.
When asked about himself, he's got this to say. He's the eldest of 5, 2 of those 5 biological from his parents, and he's one of them. He's got one brother and 3 sisters, 1 of them the other biological kid. Quite a culture pot he's got over there! He did awesomely well on his ACT and SAT and went to college as early as 17 years old. He was having issues in high school due to his father's suicide. He plans to be a teacher (probably of writing, I'll wager). He owns a chihuahua and a mouse (cute I'm sure), and has had SEVERAL pets in his life, and his family is watching over 7 dogs at the moment. Dang, Nai.
His future plans and hopes and dreams are rather ambitious--to take over the world! Bwahahaha! Actually, he just wants to find that special someone. Being bisexual, he doesn't care if he's married or not, as long as he is happy and can raise a family of his own. He wants children and to complete his dream of teaching.
His current project? 2 of them actually--two World Projects for the Colo, Afterworld and Epic World, which he's slowly working the courage to return to. His main character, Nai, is a creature that is reborn in a new world whenever he dies. He plays him daily on RPs, and he's going to be featured in my upcoming block, codenamed Copper, Silver, and Gold.
He likes the Chai Tea on the menu, and would like Cottage Cheese and Canned Pears added to our cupboards.
And now some special addresses from Nai to Regulars and Casuals of the Coffeehouse.
Awesome people from the Coffeehouse are difficult to name, since everyone is cool in their own ways. Hmm... I'll just go down the list and say something about everyone I know, shall I? - Omna has always been a cool hostess, always there with an encouraging word and some bits of her life. She's there for us and also there for us to be there for, if that makes sense. - While I haven't seen much of Arguas, I know that he's helping take care of Omna in all she needs, and also pops in once in a while to talk to us and keep us entertained (:p). - Alacar has been fun to talk to in the entire (what, 6 months?) time I've been at the Coffeehouse. Apart from commenting on my life and at least giving sympathy, he's also quite funny. - Photon Eater is awesome to talk to about tabletop RPGs, which I've talked to him several times about in IM, and it's fun to read his words, as they show a gruff nature which I am most confident is only an appearance. - I don't know much about Ether, but I do know that he's got great taste in RPGs, and I'd love to talk to him about several of them (including on how to send him one which Photon revealed they've been looking for a while). - Mamelon is one of the kindest people I know, always willing to listen and share her insights, and is incredibly fun to flirt with late in the morning when we're both drunk on lack of sleep. - Crimson Avatar is another person I haven't yet gotten to know well (I feel like one of the Sims with low relationship scores), but I do know he's been helping other people with their problems throughout the house, which earns him great respect in my eyes. - Yukora has been awesome to work with the few times we've talked about Colosseum stuff. He's also volunteered, without any information, to help me with one of the World Projects I'm working on. He's respectful and nice and, though he occasionally needs to calm down during an argument to make sure he doesn't make a mistake with his words, I respect the guy for all that he does. - Faerie Lord is fun to read, especially since he posts on practically everything that comes up in the house. He talk to everyone and has, in my memory, helped out in a problem or two of mine. Bravo, sir. - Mr. Stuff is the god of Anime of our house and I do worship him for that. I'm sure that, through his Anime of the Week series, I'll be able to find many an anime I would have never otherwise seen. His posts about anime have me on pins and needles and whatnot. - Apart from annoying me slightly in stopping me from being able to say I'm the only fox in the house, the prince of random is fun to read and has one hell of a creative mind. I mean, you just have to look at the relationship between the title of his blog and the subjects of his entries. I wish I'D thought of that. Plus, he has an awesome picture on his usercard. He deserves the title of 'Fox. - I wish I knew more about Buzz, since I haven't seen him in a while, but I enjoy reading his posts about life and other people. At the very least, it's entertaining, but they're also insightful and help me understand my own life. - Starr's another one of those mystery people who I don't know well. I do know, however, that she's caring and has helped other people I care about, for which I thank her. - Besides having an awesome name, Janus has had several very cool avatars which I envy him for. The VGCats version of V, for instance. His new Banana Man avatar scares the living hell out of me. - Joyd is a blog, yes. Apart from that, though, I'm not too sure about the guy with that odd professor avatar. I feel confident saying, though, that he's a very cool guy, and I wish he posted more. - Kraj is our resident MTG celebrity, and he's (or, rather, his sig) caused me to go read up on a series of MTG articles which leave me better informed about Magic in general. Besides that, Toto here has been kind and generous with his caring towards the 'House. Another Bravo here. - Cecilia is just awesome in so many ways, from talking to everyone about their problems, caring and consoling for things gone wrong, congratulating for things gone right, and helping members with their Legacy decks. Our resident Yoda deserves his title, and deserves the job he's shooting for. - Strongbad has a rather good taste in screen names (though I'm still working out the 56) and has been in the upper echelon of cool for our members. He's a good outlet for those of us that want to hear about life in general and want to give advice. Those are some mighty boots to fill, and he does it well. Rock on, Strongbad. - Dreia seems to be a good chef from what I've seen. Her other claims to fame, in my eyes, include being kind and caring, helpful, and reading over the majority of the posts in the Coffeehouse fast lane. Proof of this? She read my posts, at least, and saw that I didn't include her in the Valentine's Day shout out. Reading that many posts and not skipping any (an achievement not even I can boast) is what makes a good Coffeehouse regular. - Jack, you know that one previous avatar of the screaming guy scared me, right? You haven't been here long (to me), but you've already made an impression. Reading over posts, seeing who needs help, talking about girlfriend issues... Dude, you'd make an awesome best friend. And knowing the Coffeehouse... Something tells me you fill that role several times over to several people. You deserves props, man. - Sene may not be a regular here, but applying a second language to a rather community-oriented place and STILL able to keep up is something I admire greatly. I hope to see much more of you around here. - Alpha_Strike also hasn't made the regular list yet, sadly. But he's on his way up! With helpful posts and a cool avatar, I hope he continues posting here on a more regular rate so I can welcome him to the regular list. - I'm also giving a rather bit shout out to the people I don't know enough and rather wish I did. Nemcon, Umgenni, Sephiroth, Yusuke, Tuatha, Shin', Ninja_Pirate, KoolKoal, Tanthalas, Allin, Otaku Pupil, Ripe. You all rock, from what I've seen with your posts, and I can't wait to talk to you guys more and get to know you.
That's it for our Regular of the Week for Feb. 18-24, Nai.
And finally, Geek Mp3 We've got 3 songs this week--2 suggested by Nai, 1 from me.
Zelda: Hyrulian Dance Mixis an oldie but a goodie when it comes to Zelda remixes. Dig that jazz flute!
The funny thing about that George Takei clip is that I never had any idea he was gay. Yay for private people =)
as for the basketball player whose name I can't remember, this is what I think about that. So you're a homophobe, so what? Did you think that announcing it to the world would garner sympathy or something? Does being afraid of gay people make you special somehow? Let me introduce you to the entire Vatican and the states of Ohio and West Virginia. Plz to be shutting up about things you think matter.
EDIT: OMG Nai congrats on RotW! It's high time you got it, I say. And what's this about sending people games? O_o;;
Hey so pretty much I want to thank Dreia and Snoop for helping me out and letting me vent to them. They are both awesome people.
I found another great website. Its called tweekerville.com and it has every episode(or close to it) of a bunch of shows including SCRUBS and I am really happy about that because its one of those shows you just like watching. Im going to do some hw have a goodnight guys
Ah, yes, sending people games. I think you should discuss that with Photon first. Apparently, I have a game you were looking for, that I can send you. Buuut... I don't want you obsessing over it when there are other things you could be doing.
- I wish I knew more about Buzz, since I haven't seen him in a while, but I enjoy reading his posts about life and other people. At the very least, it's entertaining, but they're also insightful and help me understand my own life.

:embarrass:, Aww shucks, Nai. Thank you. I will admit I don't tend to post as much as I used to (which, by my memory, isn't too much more), and I also tend not to reveal any personal things about me, but its not intentional by any means. I guess I don't really come out and say things about myself, but I guess that's what RoTW is for....(Hint hint).
Perhaps I should start my own blog. The last time I had one, not too many people read it, and my entries were infrequent, mainly because nothing really big and/or exciting really happens around me. I might give it a look anyway.
In other news, I'm still looking for employment. Nothing has really come up yet, but I'm hoping something will soon.
I've been playing FFT again for the past few days. I was doing a Samurai SCC, but I forgot to buy an item crucial to beat Wiegraf, so I'm deleting it and doing an Oracle one since I like them.
Umm....other than that, there's nothing new that I can think of. Congrats of RoTW, Nai.
Cecilia will be gone for a month? Well, I wish him/her the best in whatever is keeping them away, and I can't wait until you get back!
Congrats on the rotw Nai! I didn't know you thought i was all-around awesomeness. *blushes* Looks like ill be finally getting a job at the casino to make some money to save for driving school because i want to get my license here in vegas and also get a car so I am excited to work for a casino. Yes Cecilia is back but don't be mad at me that i left okay? *sniff* See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses*
By the way, Ether, I'm playing Rogue Galaxy right now. I'm an hour in, after the first boss. I gotta say... Right now, most of the characters seem a bit shallow, you know? The conversation, especially when leaving the city, seems very forced and unemotional, y'know? The voice actor of Raul, at least...
The game feels very FFXII-ish to me. Combined with Star Ocean. I just wish the scenery (I've only seen the city, but...) compared.
Apparently, Spike Spiegel's voice (Cowboy Bebop) is in Rogue Galaxy. This is cool, since Jet Black's voice was in Radiata Stories. I like hearing them in different roles.

Cool. I planned on picking up Rouge Galaxy anyway, but its always nice to see Steven Blum doing voices for VG characters among other roles.
I'm gonna pull a Yukora I read the long post, but I'm tired as hell... and I wanna sleep.. part of me doesn't want my day to end but theo ther part of me just wants to sleep....
Got an appointment at the student health center tmw morning, then work, then class, then another appointment, then studying for a test, then a presentation, then studying again for my test, and taking it tomorrow evening...
So, yea... wish me luck on the presentation!!!!! I think I'm going to go upstairs and get in bed.. I'm tired..
Congrats on RotW, Nai!! And thank you for the things that you said about me. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it means a lot :). And it's cool that you said something about almost all the members. That was a really nice touch.
@Omna: Good luck!!! I'm sure you will do fine. Good night also and have a good night's sleep.
@Cecilia: Wait, so you're not leaving? You have got to make up your mind, my friend! Seriously, you scare me whenever you say you are going to leave. Well, congratulations on the job. I hope you really like it and it pays well too :).
Well, I'm going to bed now, so good night everyone, and have a good night's sleep.
P.S. @Nai: Oh, I forgot to explain the 56 in my username. Pretty much, its been my favorite number since I was in 5th grade (pretty much randomly) and it has stuck ever since. I don't know, it is just a quirky part of me :p.
I read the posts and have but little time for commenting, so here it goes.
*Serves Umgenni another pink grapefruit tea for when he needs it*
Congrats on Regular of the Week, Nai!! These are always entertaining to read and learn about fellow friends. I also thank you for the kind words about each of us, including myself.
Ripe, I hope you're doing alright. If you need to IM again, please feel free and I'll try my best.
Ethersphere, Photon, and Mamelon...good luck with getting the computer/rent/utilities worked out. I wish you each the best and a *hug* is the best I can send. May things work themselves out much simpler than it seems.
Starr, good luck with work as well. Hopefully your luck turns around soon.
Kevin/Cecilia...whether you stay or go, just don't forget us!
Omna, congrats on the survival. I'm currently stuck under a massive pile of end of term coursework. Hopefully, the creepy/freaky phone call and dream will soon pass. It sort of reminded me of that voicemail I got a while back, but yours seems way more severe. Keep your guards up until everything gets worked out.
Buzz, continued good luck with finding a job. They seem to be difficult to come by.
Mardi Gras...I don't know much about people celebrating what it was designed for. I don't care to venture into that either, but I must say King's Cake is awesome. I took a nutrition class in high school and we each had to pick an area, do a little research paper, then cook/bake/prepare something from that area. One of the girls chose New Orleans (Nawlins) and made King's Cake (complete with the plastic baby and colors described earlier).
One more paper to write, then off to bed for me. Oooooh I may get 5 hours of sleep if I hurry. Gnite and take care everyone.
@omna: goodluck with your presentation! Im sure you will do very well on it!
@mamelon: thank you so much for coming online to talk to me always very happy to have a very sweet person to talk to cecilia *blushes*
@dreia: of course ill never forget all of you and I appreciate you and others helping me out through my struggles.
@strongbad: yeah im sorry im staying for sure no more riff raff about me leaving anymore.
@yukora: have a great night yukora! Also take care!
Since Ripe likes white weenie alot in legacy im about to show him the deck i used to win against funkbrew(one of the decks i have extensively worked on with one of my legacy buddies). Enjoy
Mother of runes: At one mana you can make any of your creatures have protection from green against just about all of the creature threats that threshold throws at you. Mother of runes protection from any color ability is a powerful utility to help you win against other decks that you shouldn't have as well.
Savannah Lions: Provides a quick clock and an edge against other aggro and combo decks. Never a dead draw in any game.
Isamaru, Hound of Konda: Pretty much the same as savannah lions but the big difference is it can block first turn goblin lackey and survive while also living through a pinging mogg fanatic. Basically a 2 for 1 creature trade for you playing against goblins can be a beneficial trade off for you.
Exalted Angel: A very fast big creature in this deck combined with mana acceration and morph making it impossible to deal with at times. Also a great card against aggro decks like goblins and threshold because of her gaining life utility. Also can win you games versus combo decks such as solidarity because of how quickly she can come on the table.
Silver Knight: A very good creature against goblins and its first strike can be pretty useful against alot of creatures in the format.
Solitari Priest: Same as silver knight pretty much except it has shadow which is usually an unmatched ability especially with equipment like jitte and sword of fire and ice.
Chrome Mox: Provides mana acceration which is definetly needed in the combo matchup like solidarity and iggy pop. Able to play threats and disruption faster can give you a chance against combo and also could be big against other aggro decks as well. Chrome Mox also dodges land hate like wasteland and sinkhole(from BW homebrew and BR aggro).
Ancient Tomb: Same as Chrome Mox pretty much except adding more mana to play and utilitize an artifact equipment card faster can win you games that you shouldn't have.
City of traitors: Same as Ancient Tomb.
Plains: Yes an absolute must.
Sword of fire and ice: Provides any creature you equip protection from red and blue which can be huge versus goblins and faerie stompy(blue aggro deck). Also this equipment can make any of your creature threats bigger and can provide as creature removal as well as card draw uility is often a huge card in this deck.
Mask of memory: Can provide quick card draw when needed to draw into more threats or card utility to win you games. Mask can also provide a better mid to late game too for angel stompy.
Umezawa's Jitte: Provides as instant creature removal when needed can be a great asset to this decks success against aggro. Also can make your creatures bigger can often be a key to winning any match. Jitte can also gain life for you which is definetly needed against threshold, goblins and other aggro decks in the field.
Sword to plowshares: The best creature removal card in the game hands down.
Disenchant: Removes Aether Vial when needed and can be an all-around card utility against decks like enchantress and much more.
Parallax wave: Can be a brilliant card against threshold and goblins as well as any other aggro or aggro-control deck in the format. Also can protect your threats as well against mass destruction spells such as wrath of god and nevin's disk as well as spot removal like the edicts and swords to plowshares. Also has amazing synergy with exalted angel when its unmorphed or other words faced down.
Sideboard Card Choices:
Rule of law: Greatly stops any combo deck like solidarity and iggy pop but watch out for bounce spells such as chain of vapor and echoing truth. Plus a great board card against burn as well.
True Believer: Pretty much the same as Rule of law except it also comes in a 2/2 threat to add more clock in the combo match.
Tormod's Crypt: Great at shutting down anything that utilitizes the graveyard to gain massive card advantage{example of these kind of decks are threshold, life from the loam decks, iggy pop(ill-gotten gains tendrils combo deck), solidarity(with flash of insight in the graveyard), reanimator, salvager game and more}.
Orim's Chant: Can do a number on Iggy pop especially since Iggy pop's kill card is sorcery speed(Tendrils of agony). Also can help alot against the solidarity match especially when you know when to play the chant(I would highly recommend to play Orim's Chant during your upkeep then the Solidarity player is unable to resolve an Reset if they are unable to force of will/remand the chant that is). Chant can also win you games versus goblins and threshold by denying their attackers for one turn.
Well anyways i better get some sleep see you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*
I tell you, if you actually take the time to look at IMDB, Steven Blum (Spike) has one hell of a history. Go look here. That's a lot of voice acting. And there's a reason; he's GOOD at it, and has a great voice for tough guys.
I am officially pooped. Been a bit sleep deprived lately, and have just finished a tone of posts on Debate a bit ago. *spent*
How is everyone? It's been a while.
First - our financial situation. Joshua ended up being charged for more than he meant to buy, so he's basically broke. Fortunately, I happen to have plenty of money saved up to pay for all of our bills, and to pay for the extra computer. Lucky, huh? I'm glad I saved all that.
What happened was that Joshua tried to order a computer that went out of stock, and tried to cancel that order and get another. But he ended up getting both computers anyway, and having to pay for both. Se we have one brand new laptop, and another coming in the mail. I will give him the money to pay for the other - and I'm debating with myself whether we should just send it back for a refund, or if I should just keep it. I've wanted a new laptop for a while, and I don't know if I'll ever find another one at this price, brand new and with all the features it has.

Yowza! That was a lot to catch up on. Sorry if I missed anything folks, but 15 pages is a lot. I had a hectic weekend, with visitors from out of town arriving Friday and leaving yesterday, and a trip to the suburbs for my niece's 3rd birthday (she is, by the way, the most amazing girl in the entire world ) smack in the middle. So, yeah.
Hey! You've been gone for a while, I was hoping everything was okay.
By the way, thanks for weighing in that Debate thread.
Two safeties.
This is funny out of context.
@Mardi Gras: I have a friend who lives in Louisiana, and her sister-in-law (a Chinese immigrant) asked her why it's necessary to show your breasts during the Mardi Gras celebration. She had a fun time explaining to her that it's not actually necessary to do so.

Hully crap, welcome to Atog land! :(((
I really wish I could tide you over until you can take the compputer guys to court for this mistake. Unfortunately, I haven't worked for six weeks, so I can't But it really sucks, and you have my heartfelt righteous wrath, and my hopes.
In your case, Starr, I really hope things start getting better for you. It sucks that you have to go through this.
Quote from ethersphere »
Yeah...the current disadvantage is what has me freaked, really. I mean, if I knew we'd be alright for rent and such this month, and that Josh's whole paycheck wouldn't disappear next week, I'd be fine. Truth is, though, I don't know what's going to happen. Uncertainty is the enemy of peace.
The good news is that we're going to be okay. I have that $400 from my tax refund, and still have those last two paychecks I can cash to pay for all of our bills. So no no worries, my friend.
Quote from QWERTY DREMILITY »
any one read any good book lately? or any good manga?
You know it! I'm thinking I might start writing manga reviews every week, or something.
@Cecilia: He's been very busy lately, and felt really lonely and ignored, and I hope we can make that somewhat better for him. We all wish you well, Cecilia.
@Nai: Congratulations on being Regular of The Week!
Woot, guys. It's page 108. One of my favorite numbers.
Edit: Aww, I went and pushed it over to 109. Oh, well, I still came in on page 108.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.

@Mamelon: Get some sleep, you really need it. I'm tired seeing as I just woke up, but all in all okay. I'm glad that you were able to work out that whole two computers problem. You're lucky to have a mind to save up money like that, I don't.
@books: I love post-modernist ironc stuff like Catch-22 and anything by Kurt Vonnegut. Not really big into the fantasy books, the all seem the same to me.
Marmalade: why is 108 one of your favourite numbers? A random choice, to be sure.
Not at all random! I heard a long time ago that in Japanese mythology, the number 108 is typically associated with holiness, good fortune, and happiness. Interestingly enough, I often find myself noticing 108 whenever it appears. I couldn't count all the times I've looked at a clock just to see that it's 1:08, or have received $1.08 as change, or so on. I usually notice seeing it a lot when I feel good.
Also, I just like the way it looks.

Heh. Yeah, I didn't actually get anymore than like an hour of real sleep this morning, but that's because I napped for like 6 hours this afternoon. Thanks for your concern.
I'm also glad we're going to get through this. I had a lot of money in my account when I left my old job for just such an occasion as this, since I knew I'd be making less overall, plus I got my tax refund back.
Well, y'all. I'll be seeing you later today, after work. Ciao for now!

Congrats, Nai! That was quite an incredible list of your favorite members. I thought it was pretty touching, and not just because you said something nice about me but because you said so many nice things about so many people. Bravo to you, sir!
The funny thing about that George Takei clip is that I never had any idea he was gay. Yay for private people =)
If you have the means to view it, Comedy Central did a roast of William Shatner recently and Takei was absolutley hilarious. He totally turned up the volume on the gay just to watch Shatner squirm. It was great fun.

That sounds like a good deal, but since the finances have been shaky even without this mixup, having that money in reserve could go a long way towards peace of mind for the three of you.
By the way, thanks for weighing in that Debate thread.
Which one? ...I'm pretty sure I know the one you mean. Meh, it's pretty much the same old, same old. Although I did have the most pleasant, productive, and respectful discussion with extremestan I've ever had, so that was definitely a plus. EDIT: Oh, wait.... that thread. Well, you're welcome. I wanted to tread carefully around the use of the word "pathological" since it has a great deal of technical validity but also a lot of semantic baggage. In any case, you sure as heck rocked that thread without my help.
strongbad56: Your FCC card is one of my favorites this round. Hybrid mana cards are very hard to do right and I always get excited when someone pulls it off. Very nicely done. Rest assured, if your opponent (whose card is fine but pretty bland) somehow wins, I'll be the first one ranting in the discussion thread.
Good afternoon, Coffeehouse. Just got out of Physics where I fell asleep again. *sigh* I see Omna lurking in here, so I assume she'll be talking about some stuff too. Let me get to my responses to various people and then go into my little rant.
@ Nai: This just goes to show the extent to which you are valued here at the house and carry on its general message by including a list of favorites like you have. It was touching, and many people here can appreciate such kind words. From what you've seen to have gone through, we are happy to support you when you feel like you are in need as well, and frankly you deserve it. In response to what you said to me, I wish I could be around here more often, but time is crunchy as it is right now, and has been for a while... although I do ineed like to entertain when I can
@ Cecilia leaving: Cecilia contributes a lot to the house as well, and is certainly respected here, as I noted last time the break from the house was "threatened". To be honest, since this happened last time I went for a reading spree in here, it feels like a mild cry for a bit of attention, which makes sense as sometimes we can all be drowned out in here from time to time as there is just so much happening. I feel this way as well sometimes, especially if I'm trying to get opinions or ideas. Frankly, I completely understand needing a break, and last time Cecilia was back in here, kind of convinced to stay. I decided not to comment when I saw that Kevin chose not to be with us for a while because I didn't want to obligate him to stay when he knew he needed the break. So, best wishes on that aspect.
So lent begins today. It kind of snuck up on me. I haven't been to services all quarter due to my hectic work schedule on Sundays. I feel badly for this as I also have committed what I feel as atrocities sometimes, and that this is a real time for penance for me, but also it makes me feel like I'm gradually slipping into darkness. I've taken note of all of it recently... I've lashed out at Omna a lot more too than I have, although that may have to do with stress mounting on me as a result of certain things that have happened recently. She's fighting so hard at this point to overcome her defensive anger and wrath in our relationship, and in my frustration mine has increased instead, which I know is simply not fair. This is regardless of what stirs such anger. Looking at where I am in my life now, my usual personal penance simply can't be applied at the moment, as I am with Omna. I have chosen to sacrifice something else, a crutch that I am using in my times of stress, and this is going to be a difficult lent if things continue like this.
@Arguas: I get how you feel about thinking you've commited atrocities. And if you and Omna really care about each other then everything wll have to work out in the end, its just the way the world works man.
Also, this is going to sound really dumb, but why is Lent 40 days long? That seems like an awfully random number to me.
Well Ryan, I will say that I'm proud of you for trying to make things better not only for yourself, but for Danica as well. I hope that you can get to the source of your anger and deal with it successfully because believe me, without that the anger will just keep coming back. But sometimes taking a break from a situation and stepping back to observe can work wonders for perpective. I think it's time to shamelessly insert an Incubus lyric: "To obtain a bird's eye is to turn a blizzard to a breeze." I've always liked that line =)
I have to say I have no idea why Cecilia/Kevin is leaving the 'house for a while, but I do hope it isn't too long. And I hope that, whatever the issue, everything turns out okay.
Now to tinker with this damnable deck and hopefully get a match in on MWS today >_<;;
@Arguas: I get how you feel about thinking you've commited atrocities. And if you and Omna really care about each other then everything wll have to work out in the end, its just the way the world works man.
Also, this is going to sound really dumb, but why is Lent 40 days long? That seems like an awfully random number to me.
Not really dumb at all, more like a simple question. There are a couple of reasons that I know of, and one of them is that the extent of Christ's days of temptation in the desert and in solitude was approximately 40 days long. It also follows a reasonable fast schedule. Basically, the fast starts on today, Wednesday, and goes until Saturday, and continues every day of the week except Sundays, when you are technically allowed to break the fast. Considering my fast is something that I need to give up anyway, the optimal is something that I shouldn't really break on Sundays
Anyway, I digress. Basically, you get 4 days this week of fasting, plus 6 weeks of 6 days of fasting. The first week is actually kind of nice as it can break you into the fast.
The traditional fast is to be without meat, as it was something scarce and precious to you at the day and age that the faith was founded. Today, since it's a basic part of the diet, the idea is to give up something that is important to you in order to explore your connection with God. Basically, I feel the need to kind of reconnect at this point, as I really feel like darkness has been enveloping me, and I wish to shunt it. Kind of a personal goal I suppose.
Anger is a natural reaction to things. I used to feel so bad when I got angry for some reason or another, thinking that I didn't have the right to feel that way or something, but once I grew into adulthood I knew that wasn't the case. Anger is cathartic - it's therapy. Almost like your mind or body trying to force closure out of you or the person/thing at which the anger is directed. A lot of people say that anger is based in fear, but I've never agreed with that entirely. I think it's just another emotion.
Well, our second laptop *eyeroll* should be getting here today, so I'm guessing first-thing when Josh gets off work tomorrow we're going to be doing something about it. I hope luck is on our side.
My helpdesk should you need me.
18-24, Nai.
And finally,
Geek Mp3
We've got 3 songs this week--2 suggested by Nai, 1 from me.
Zelda: Hyrulian Dance Mix is an oldie but a goodie when it comes to Zelda remixes. Dig that jazz flute!
Fantasia Alla Marcia for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra is better known as the credit roll from Kingdom Hearts II.
Fury of the Storm is a song by Dragonforce that I've been recently playing with the volume up LOUD.

as for the basketball player whose name I can't remember, this is what I think about that. So you're a homophobe, so what? Did you think that announcing it to the world would garner sympathy or something? Does being afraid of gay people make you special somehow? Let me introduce you to the entire Vatican and the states of Ohio and West Virginia. Plz to be shutting up about things you think matter.
EDIT: OMG Nai congrats on RotW! It's high time you got it, I say. And what's this about sending people games? O_o;;
I found another great website. Its called tweekerville.com and it has every episode(or close to it) of a bunch of shows including SCRUBS and I am really happy about that because its one of those shows you just like watching. Im going to do some hw have a goodnight guys

Windmills do not work that way!
Love,
Cecilia
The game feels very FFXII-ish to me. Combined with Star Ocean. I just wish the scenery (I've only seen the city, but...) compared.

I am too tired now, but I will read the long post about you tomarrow

Cool. I planned on picking up Rouge Galaxy anyway, but its always nice to see Steven Blum doing voices for VG characters among other roles.
Windmills do not work that way!
I'm tired..
Magic Coffeehouse!
Come in, sit down, relax, get to know somebody!

Magic Coffeehouse pwns.

~Dreia
@mamelon: thank you so much for coming online to talk to me always very happy to have a very sweet person to talk to cecilia *blushes*
@dreia: of course ill never forget all of you and I appreciate you and others helping me out through my struggles.
@strongbad: yeah im sorry im staying for sure no more riff raff about me leaving anymore.
@yukora: have a great night yukora! Also take care!
Since Ripe likes white weenie alot in legacy im about to show him the deck i used to win against funkbrew(one of the decks i have extensively worked on with one of my legacy buddies). Enjoy
2 Savannah Lions
4 Exalted Angel
4 Silver Knight
4 Solitari Priest
3 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Chrome Mox
3 Ancient Tomb
2 City of Traitors
17 Plains
2 Mask of memory
2 Umezawa's Jitte
4 Swords to plowshares
2 Disenchant
3 Parallax Wave
3 Rule of law
4 Tormod's Crypt
3 True Believer
3 Orim's Chant
2 Disenchant
Main Deck Card Choices:
Love,
Cecilia
My helpdesk should you need me.
Hey! You've been gone for a while, I was hoping everything was okay.
By the way, thanks for weighing in that Debate thread.
In your case, Starr, I really hope things start getting better for you. It sucks that you have to go through this.
The good news is that we're going to be okay. I have that $400 from my tax refund, and still have those last two paychecks I can cash to pay for all of our bills. So no no worries, my friend.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
Gaymers | Magic Coffeehouse | Little Jar of Mamelon | Natural 20
@Nail: Congratulations on RotW your Mod-liness
@Mamelon: Get some sleep, you really need it. I'm tired seeing as I just woke up, but all in all okay. I'm glad that you were able to work out that whole two computers problem. You're lucky to have a mind to save up money like that, I don't.
@books: I love post-modernist ironc stuff like Catch-22 and anything by Kurt Vonnegut. Not really big into the fantasy books, the all seem the same to me.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel.

Which one? ...I'm pretty sure I know the one you mean.

Also, this is going to sound really dumb, but why is Lent 40 days long? That seems like an awfully random number to me.
I have to say I have no idea why Cecilia/Kevin is leaving the 'house for a while, but I do hope it isn't too long. And I hope that, whatever the issue, everything turns out okay.
Now to tinker with this damnable deck and hopefully get a match in on MWS today >_<;;

Well, our second laptop *eyeroll* should be getting here today, so I'm guessing first-thing when Josh gets off work tomorrow we're going to be doing something about it. I hope luck is on our side.
