Yeah, ive been swamped with school work at my end. Argh, and it keeps coming, ive still got a requirements document, two mid terms, a presentation and an essay all next week, its going to be a fun weekend!! yeah!
Tanthalas: that does sound dodgy but 200 pounds makes for a lot of magic cards!!!! (or maybe not)

The house looks like it is coming along nicely. What plans do you have for color? Are you going to have any hardwood flooring in the house? I think that is the best.

Actually, that is the color - the living room has an accent color on the wall with the fireplace, a very light slatey blue. The other color, however, is a bit more noticeable:
6. The baby's room (that color is also used in one of the downstairs bedrooms)
7. The livingroom - you can see the accent color on the right compared to the plain white of the other walls on the left
8. Our granite countertops in the kitchen
9. Our cool undermount stainless steel sink
10. The mirror over my sink in the master bath (my wife's mirror/sink is about a foot wider)
Sure you can become a friend - if you help us keep this sinking ship active
As for the house, my wife and I picked out bunch of furnitre yesterday, totaling around $2500 - $3000. That leaves us around $5000 for all the other stuff we need to buy (curtains, etc.).

This aint no sinking ship, its something else, that i can't quite think of yet.
Well, my hellish week aint gong that bad. My first mid term went ok, and my presentation is this afternoon. Ugh, i just want it to be over with. I did get some good news yesterday. Got a previous mid term back and assignment and got over 90% on both. That made my day.
How big is your TV going to be? 80 inch? 90 inch? Who needs curtains and plates and stuff like that when you have a TV that big!!

We actually have 4 TVs right now, 3 of which work. In addition to the 56" one, we have a 32" and 2 27" ones, one of which has a busted picture tube. As you might guess, we watch an awful lot of TV

not bad, thats actually quite impressive. What shows are you watching right now? I like CSI (only the original, which i missed last night) Stargate SG1 and Atlantas and Prison Break.
Prison Break was soo good last season, its not as good right now, but is still fun to watch.

Unfortunately our local cable provider doesn't have a lot of HD channels so most of the stuff I watch doesn't look that good stretched on a TV that big. My favorite shows aren't in HD anyway, though: Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel.
We had the final walkthrough on our house today, which went pretty well. The contractor had already made notes of most of the dents/scuffs on the walls and other little imperfections that we were going to have him fix. Everything should be set for us to start moving in Tuesday afternoon after signing all the paperwork that morning.
On the baby front...not much. We had another doctor appointment this morning and she's still a ways off despite the fact that today's her original due date. She's probably going to have to be induced sometime next week.

Oh my, i guess that is good news on both fronts. Sounds like you have a really good contractor. Some times those guys can be really hard to work with/don't do a good job/don't do the job at all.
Ahhh, mythbusters, havn't seen that show in a while. At school, i don't get that channel. My favourite episode is still the one where they make the particle board parachute. Thats a classic.

Well, this guy's been far from perfect. Our house sat for about 3 months as just a big concrete hole in the ground because there apparently wasn't power at our site...despite the fact that the houses a couple lots down on either side (which started well after ours) were already farther along than us and going fine. We were originally supposed to be in the house on Sept. 15, and they cited the delay getting electricity as the reason. My wife and I both figure there was something else going on that they thought was more important than working on our house for those 3 months and that's the real reason it took so long to make any progress. Our realtor was able to scare the builders into paying our rent for Nov. after that, so it's not all bad. I'd still have rather been all moved in and settled before the baby gets here

Well, yeah, that does sound kinda bad. Im sure it is going to be one hell of a hectic couple of months right after the baby is born(as if that wasn't enought). Im sure the move in is going to be delightful.

I think we have enough family members willing to help that it shouldn't be too stressful. I have a feeling that tomorrow's going to be a lot like Christmas Eve back when I was 8 years old: it's going to drag on forever as I get more and more anxious to sign the papers and start moving in on Tuesday.

howdy everybody. Sorry I've been MIA. It's been a very difficult summer personally but nothing lasts forever and life is looking back up.
It's good to be back.

Good Lord, where has the time gone?
The first baby is almost always late. Usually about 7-10 days.
A new baby and a new house at the same time!
Wow.
You must be cool as a cucumber right now.
Wait till it all over and you are in your new home with your baby looking up at you. It's indescribable. I very happy for you and your wife.
I'm sorry if you have mentioned this before but do you have the name picked out?

Great to see you, Hawk. Hope things are going alright and that you get the chance to check back fairly regularly.
I'm at work right now, otherwise I wouldn't be on at all. Teresa and Ryleigh (I don't know if I ever mentioned that before or not) are still at the hospital and will be coming home some time tomorrow. We'll then be moving the bulk of our stuff into the new house this Friday and Saturday and hopefully we'll all spend our first night there Saturday.
Pictures will come as soon as I get time, which could be as early as tomorrow or as late as Sunday. Either way I'll post lots of them

I haven't had a chance to yet We just brought the baby home today and I've been at work since I dropped them back off at the apartment. I might have a chance to upload some tomorrow, but I don't know for sure. If I get off early enough, I'll try and do some tonight.
Edit: Pictures! For more pics, please see this post in Special Occasions
Wow, it was a weird feeling this morning waking up in our new house for the first time. We still have a ton of things to buy to make it truly ready to live in (like curtains) and we still have a few amenities yet to be installed (refrigerater, washer/dryer, cable/internet), but now that we've got our furniture, at least we have a place to sit

Glad to hear that the move in went smoothly. Or rather, didn't hear that it was a disaster!
I really didn't want to be corney, but the home is where the heart is. It will feel like home eventually.
It's feeling more and more so as we buy more and more of the little things that really complete a house - curtains, couch pillows, kitchen accessories, etc. The only bad thing about this whole deal is that we still have to thorougly clean our old apartment by the end of the month

Heh. I just logged on a bit ago and saw the lack of activity in the past week. We finally got internet hooked up at our new house a couple days ago and we're still working on moving in/cleaning our old apartment. As such I haven't had much time to log on apart from when I have some down time at work (such as now).
Sounds like a nice new place, Tant. Be thankful you don't have a new baby to deal with while you're moving in

The best stuff I have written for the game are really the role descriptions. Unfortunately they will not be revealed until the player is killed or the end of the game.
Everyone seems to be moving into new places! That's great.
No new babies for me - in fact, that's one of the things that helped us get this place. Someone else with two young kids made an offer, but the landlord's redecorated recently with cream carpets, so for some reason didn't want little kids there .
Cream carpets + young kids = bad news.
For some reason the family we bought our house from thought it was a good idea to put white berber carpet in the kitchen, even though they have two young boys. Needless to say it was not white when we moved in. I just remodelled the kitchen and was so happy to rip that grey mess of carpet out of there. I had hoped there would be oak floors under the carpet like ther is in the rest of the house but no such luck.
Icon - are you getting much sleep? how's Teresa feeling? Ryleigh sleep though the night?

Here are some of the latest ones - we have carpet now, and all of our light fixtures as well as most of our bathroom and kitchen accessories:
1. The exterior of the house - since this one was taken, we have a pillar on the left edge of the porch
2. Looking over the half-wall by the stairs into the livingroom/kitchen
3. The fireplace
4. The large corner tub in the master bathroom
5. Looking from up behind the chandelier (I was on my tip-toes) down into the livingroom I've been waiting for one of you guys to show up so I didn't have to double-post
6. The baby's room (that color is also used in one of the downstairs bedrooms)
7. The livingroom - you can see the accent color on the right compared to the plain white of the other walls on the left
8. Our granite countertops in the kitchen
9. Our cool undermount stainless steel sink
