We're not lifting a finger on most of the interior. We're only paying for them to paint a few rooms which is only an extra $200. If we tried to do it outselves it would take way too long since both of us work full-time.
Speaking of alcoholic bevereges, I had a nice beer last night: Rochefort Trappistes 6. The guy at the liquor store was obviously pretty new there because when he rang up the bottle he kept saying "this can't be right." Eventually he called over the other person working that night and asked her why this one bottle was ringing up more than the entire 6 pack I was also purchasing. Her reply: "yep, it's a good one." It certainly was

Hello everyone, must have been at least a year since my last post.
Good to see you are all still up and running. Grats on the moderator position extreme, with that post count you're decently hard to ignore ;P.
Anyways, been playing World of Warcraft, going to school, and hanging out with friends quite a bit in the last 1-2 years. I have since quit magic, only playing a casual match with a friend if we're bored enough (he still creates decks out of random commons he finds).
Yup, I might be checking in a bit more now that I remembered this place still existed. It might just give me something else to do in my offtime besides playing WoW :).
Cheers!
Edit: After reading through the thread; I still, of course, play ultimate frisbee
Edit #2: Nooo! TFE was banned! Anyone care to enlighten me as to how this happened?
Edit #3: I so used to have a signature...
Hooray, I think I've finally found a half-decent gym (actually a sports centre, which is even better, since it means it has a pool) not far from my flat. It's about 10 minutes on the bus. Might have to head out at some point and sign up. It'd be nice to have the chance to swim again; I haven't done much for a long time now.
Our gym is about a 5 minute drive from our apartment. My schedule at work has settled into a fairly regular one, so I'm getting to the gym around 3-4 times a week. I'm working right now on getting my bench back up to where it was in college - I'd like to be able to lift 225 again (right now I'm probably at 195-205).
I might be checking in a bit more now that I remembered this place still existed. It might just give me something else to do in my offtime besides playing WoW :).
That would be nice. It gets somewhat quiet in here from time to time
Nooo! TFE was banned! Anyone care to enlighten me as to how this happened?
After accumulating around 20 warnings, he failed to meet the stipulations of his most recent suspension - i.e. he had another user post a message for him, which he was specifically told not to do or else he would be banned.
Anyone going to the Time Spiral Prerelease this weekend?
I'm planning on going, but not this weekend - it's the 23rd and 24th, is it not?
Last weekend I got to take one heck of a fun ride - the local military base was holding an open house/air show and one of our reporters was invited to take a tandem parachute jump with the army's Golden Knights parachute demo team. I got to go up in the plane with her and film it from next to the open door. We were up in the air at around 13,500 feet for a couple hours. The story turned out really, really good.
You can see the video here. Just scroll down a bit to the "Featured Videos" section and click on "KAKE Reporter Takes The Plunge." Let me know what you think

Our house is coming along, despite several delays. They've now just about finished the exterior of the house aside from some brickwork that needs finishing and some paint that will have to be redone (where they spilled some of the trim color on the siding, etc.). They still have a long way to go on the inside, though, and I'm hoping that they can get it done in the next 4 weeks and that our baby doesn't come more than a week ahead of schedule...:(

Well I guess I'm back. Sorry for dissapprearing all of a sudden as stuff kinda came up, and I got really busy and Magic kinda got put on the sidelines. Well after a year, and getting settled back in school, I got some more time, not to mention that Time Spiral looks awesome, I've decided to play some more magic.
Anyway, I was kinda wondering if I could hang out here again. What I miss while I was gone?

Anyone else have a crappy prerelease? I wasn't fond of my cards and I dropped after the 2nd round with a 1-1 record so that I could go home and watch the K-State/Louisville game

Couldn't get back to my home town to attend the prerelease. Really wanted to though.
Shame about the crappy card pool. Maybe next time. I just pre ordered a box of these babies. Here's hoping for a good box! The question is, how many do i crack open like a fool and how many do i draft?

I'd really like to buy a box of TS but I probably don't have the money to spare at this point between building a house (and buying furniture for said house) and getting ready to have a baby (not me personally, but my wife, duh). I love the nostalgia theme but unfortunately my purples were more of the Icatian Javelineers variety rather than the Gemstone Mine or Psionic Blast kind

Holy moly! did miss a lot in the last year. A baby on the way (gratz btw). Building a house (is this a refinishing type thing, or from the ground up?) and i just noticed that you are mod!
Sucks about the purples. That is what has gotten me most excited about this set. Some of the cards are cool, but i just really want the purples! Also, them replacing a common with a foil is a good idea (to me anyway).

Heh. The baby's due in around 5-6 weeks, the house should be done in under a month, and I'm actually a mod in 2 sections of the forums (Games and Magic General). You have missed a lot
I'm going to be downloading some new pictures from my camera before too long, including a few of our nearly-completed house. It probably looks a lot different from the last pics I put on here (I can't even remember what those looked like...).

Are we going to be flooded with thousands of baby pics when s/he (do you know) is born? For the most part, baby pics a cute.
Metaller: I dont know how often ill be able to draft! If i could get a regualr draft group together then id save them all. Also, i just love to open packs, its a curse!

I'll be taking a ton of pictures, so probably. Also, she's a she.
I'm incredibly tired right now. I got about 4 hours of sleep last night - 2 hours before and 2 hours after a standoff with a suicidal gunman in a town about 30 minutes north of here that happened around 4 am. Then I had to come in to work today at 9:30. I'm pretty much going on fumes at this point.

6 hours. I need at least 8, hopefully 9! When i only get 4 or something im borderline nuts!!

What do you mean that you HAD to go three colour? Was that some sort of rule they inforced?
I assume that's because they made you use 60 cards?
Only 6 more days till the Stones concert here in Wichita. I have to work this Sunday but I should be off in time to get there about 30 minutes to an hour before the concert actually starts. I'd like to buy a shirt there but I'm guessing they'll be around $30 at least

Oh yeah, makes sence, but it they are quite stupid. My PRs or only 32 man tournys so you can get more than one in during a day.
Have fun at that stones concert. Probably cost you an arm and a leg to get tickets (i hear they are extreamly expensive). As for the t-Shirt, probably $20, i think, buts its still alot.

I saw in the paper today that shirts for the concert will be starting around $30 Balls.
They also just announced that opening act for the show tonight: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Huh? I'd never heard of them before and actually that's what my reporter and I did our story on tonight - we went around town and asked people if they'd ever heard of them and if they were disappointed the Stones couldn't bring in a more well-known act. The stuff on their site sounds pretty good, though, so I'm cautiously optimistic that they won't suck.

Well, my mom bought me the $75 ticket, maybe I can persuade her to spring the $30 for the shirt as some kind of early Christmas present or something.
It's insane how huge their set is - it takes over 70 semi trucks to haul all the pieces and they've been working on it for nearly a day now and the concert isn't until Sunday. They've got about a dozen huge cranes and several dozen workers running all over the place. They put a temporary wall around the stadium so people can't see in but our live truck has a camera on top of its mast so we've been putting overhead shots on TV all day as the work has progressed.

70 trucks!! that is rediculous! How many people do you think are working to put up the stage? Has the show been sold out? How many tickets have been sold? I would expect them to sell out pretty quickly.

As far as I know it hasn't sold out yet. I think they had somewhere between 37,000 and 40,000 tickets for sale, easily the largest concert in the history of Wichita. I don't think it will totally sell out by Sunday but I'm sure they've sold at least 30,000 or so.

The standard ticket prices go all the way up to $600 for a ticket on the stage itself; online they're going for over $1,000.
There's a chance I might get to go behind the scenes on the Stones' stage...not on the day of the show, unfortunately, but tomorrow our station is doing a preview story on the concert and they've given us some passes to go behind the scenes to see the completed set and stuff. The only problem is that I switched days with the guy who was supposed to work tomorrow, and his name is the one on the pass, not mine. If they can't change the name on it then he'll have to go.

Well, speaking of birthdays, we had no less than 3 people at the station with birthdays yesterday - the main female anchor, and 2 reporters. Mine's coming up here in about 10 days, my wife's is a couple weeks after that, and our daughter's should be some time between the two.
Also, I will be able to cover the Stones preview story tomorrow. They were able to switch my name to the credentials with no problems. I just hope that we get some kind of cool press passes to wear - that would be a really neat one to add to the collection.

It was my birthday yesterday, and I finally got to open up the beer I've been waiting for so long to taste - the 6 bottles I had my mom order me from BelgiumShop.com, including all 3 styles brewed by the renowned Westvleteren monastary.
I also took a bunch of new pics of my house - I can upload those when I get a chance...
