Hey people. I'm back from my group's one-shot today. I DM'd the level 1 adventure: A Dark and Stormy Knight. It was fun. The fighter in the party was a bald, black human who couldn't control the volume of his voice; his name was Jack L. Samuelson. Classic.
About editing posts and dice rolls: They may stay the same when editing them, but they DO change if you quote a dice roll. So be careful.
I have a character in a pirate campaign. A very musculous halfling. His original name was just Vin, with no last name because he is an orphan. But when we were traveling I needed ID so I had to give up a last name. After some suggestions I went with Vin Dizel

He is in the Warcraft universe. He was an orphan orc who was raised by some enlightned humans after the second war. They didn't want to give him a human name, so they guessed a good orc name.
Grim means "new" in orcish and Orgrimar is the name of the Orcish capitol city.
So, if you translated his name to modern english, it would basically be like naming a kid
I wish i understood what you guys talking about when talking about D&D i dont play i think the last time i played was like when i was in a freshman in highschool which was a really long time. However at least I love rpgs and i think i am going to try to beat septerra core its an rpg that i have on the computer its fun but its hard and i think i am stuck in that game oh well.
It's pretty fun stuff. You are more than welcome to join us when we start playing D&D on the forums! You couldn't be in better hands.
Just wondering, you guys DO like the name "Pen and Paper Inn", don't you?
I can't wait to get started. I always wanted to play D&D, but never had people nearby. Doing it online is like combining two loves together. It's a wonderful thing.
I'll check out Order of the Stick. However, I have so many webcomics I need to catch up on...
I like the name, Nai. I think it's very fitting =)
And I love the banner, Mr. Stuff! I love Record of Lodoss Wars; never been able to see the whole thing through, but I've always wanted to. It's a perfect subject for a N20 banner.
I hope people will be interested in playing a D20 Modern campaign in the Inn, myself. I'm more than up for some D&D action, but I have a lot of D20 Modern ideas I've really anted to try for a while.
Let's see...as I said, I haven't really done much d20 studd, but a couple years ago I did experiment with D&D. I'd like to get back into it.
As far as consoles, I'm just starting on the Final Fantasy series(using my friend Meg's copy of FF10), but I've beaten Super Mario RPG, both Paper Mario games, and Lost Kingdoms II(A little-known franchise from Activision, for the GCN), as well as beating all of LKI except the final boss(who is bloody hard.)
Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -how passionately I hate them!

Hey everybody, I'm here for some video game RPG advice. I got a $100 Best Buy gift card for my birthday and I'm planning to buy two DS games with it and save the rest towards buying a new iPod. My question is, is Contact a good game? I know it's made by the same guy who created Earthbound (my favorite game of all time), so that's a plus already.
Well, Wombat, I'd say go ahead and get Contact. From all the reviews I've read and everything, the game feels like the spiritual sequel to Earthbound, which seems right up your alley =)
I'm itching to play it myself, once we have a DS (Photon wants a pink one OMGEEW). As well as FF3 DS, which is another game I'd recommend since the original is so good.
@Tuatha: Ah man, the Paper Mario games are awesome! So much quality gameplay wrapped up in such an unassuming package. I can't wait for the next one, which is one of the Gamecube's last games, unfortunately. Poor Gamecube...
@Nan: Alright! I'll be looking for ya whenever I get a game going. d20 Modern is probably my favorite tabletop game because it's got all the flavor of D&D with the modern, Joss Whedony bent I really enjoy =)
Very cool, Alcar! I'm really starting to dig simpler banners nowadays, and this one's quite nice! One quick question - how'd you do the 3d texturing on the "[Natural 20]?" Is there a PS tool that does it?
Yes. When you make a text layer on a PS project, right click it and choose 'Blending Options'. Play around with them. It's the easiest way to simulate those effects.
I am really loving the banner, though. I hope it meets expectation!
I love the banner too Mr. stuff well actually i think all of your work is great especially my cecilia avatar and sig banners that you made for me I am very greatful for those.:D Happy thanksgiving everyone! I am going to my mom's tommorrow ill be back either saturday or sunday and ill probably eat turkey possibly watch some movies and play final fantasy 12 of course. Ill cya all later. Take care everyone!
@Photon: Yeah thats what i usually do when people talk about D&D in the clan thread.
@omna: thanks for the support its highly appreciated.
Hello everyone! i Just got back from my mom's house for thanksgiving it was pretty cool.:) I also got a chance to play some ff12 last night and i just finished the stilshrine of miriam and right now located in the highwaste the monsters do a shocklingly more then 120 damage to my characters so i am going to buy some better armor and weapons so that will minimize the damage to at least 50-60 damage. Right now i am 30 hours into the game.
Suppose I've managed to scrabble together a character. Is there a place where I 'submit' him, or should I wait until you guys run the 'test' campaign? Either way, I'm excited to watch this thing go.
I suppose we need a DM to volunteer to run the first game, or maybe 2 DMs to run 2 different test games. Depends on how many people in Natural 20 want to play.
So who wants to play in Natural 20's test run of the Pen & Paper Inn?
I'd be interested, but as you know, I'm not "active" enough lately. Plus I'm worried that if I get involved with anything else I'll start to forget Rise completely.
I may try it out later, I'll be reading the test run to see how it all works.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.

New New York
If you haven't seen it, the first episode consists of the following party first fighting gargoyles and then a dragon:
1. Human Thief
2. Human Wizard
3. Bumbling Cleric
4. Main Character Swordsman
5. Stuck-up Elf Ranger
6. Grumpy Dwarven Warrior
It's like the template for every generic D&D adventure ever.
It's pretty fun stuff. You are more than welcome to join us when we start playing D&D on the forums! You couldn't be in better hands.
And the same goes out to Omna.
but yes, I love OoTS as well. After finding out about it I systematically read every comic from the first to the most recent.
My favorite character? Don't really have one. The whole cast seems to be good to me. And yeah, we do need a OoTS banner for Nat20.
Oh God, Deetlit.
Yes, I highly recommend checking out the PnP Inn, even if you don't think you have the time. We need both players and DMs, both new and experienced.
I can't wait to get started. I always wanted to play D&D, but never had people nearby. Doing it online is like combining two loves together. It's a wonderful thing.

The OotS banner will come soon. I've had a long day today.
And yes, ethersphere--I'm up for any Modern game you want to run.

We'll have you friended once Photon's back. In the meantime, tell us a little about your gaming likes/dislikes!

alacar: I agree that behind the scenes is a better name.
edit: I love my friend "title"
