Wow, Nai. That poem/sonnet is really good. It is so smooth and eloquent. The only problem with it is that it doesn't really say anything about the actual character. I mean, pretty much any "good" character could fit into what you said. Still, though, I love it a lot, and if you add on more or make another, it would be even better. Good job :).
@ethersphere: Like I said before, I don't think everyone uses the word in the way that you describe it. Of course, many do, and I completely disapprove of that, but I think at least some, like my friends and I, use it in a completely nonderagatory and okay way.
@kevin: You're welcome, I know it is a great milestone to get to 1000; hopefully I will get there soon.
Well, I'm off to watch last weeks episode of House, which I taped, in a couple of minutes, and then the new episode after that, so yeah, see you guys later.
EDIT: Where I live, "gay" is only used as a deragatory term with immature middle schoolers. High schoolers tend to know not to say that, although many immature ones do, of course.
Take offense all you want, Yukora; it's the truth. I grew up in Ohio, of all places, and I still hear people my own age say "that's gay" on a daily basis. Hell, Photon's younger brother spouts it off ten times per minute, knowing full well the nature of our relationship and how we both take offense at it.
@strongbad: I know; amongst friends things like that take on a different meaning, for the most part. That isn't really what I was referring to, though; what really gets me is people who throw the term around like it's some sort of put-down.
ether: I'm also from the midwest in high school, and saying gay as a derogatory insult is going out of fashion. There's still a few people who say it in that tone though .
I got to round 3 of fcc as well :).

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
Well, I guess it's the truth for Ohio students, not all of the Midwest
Naw, not just Ohio. I've heard it from kids I know in West Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, and Kentucky before, as well. I know Ohio's culture can be pretty stunted and insular (as you just unwittingly implied), but it isn't THAT stunted and insular.
Congrats, KK! I've kind of thought of entering the FCC lately, but I doubt any of my cards would be polished enough. Well, maybe Leigh, but even so, that's just the one card =)
@ethersphere: Yes, I know exactly what you mean, and I agree completely. Things like "emo", "gay", and "retarted" are spoken all the time as insults, which really annoys me and others. People should make up new insults at least, or even better, no insults at all, although I realize that that will never happen.
EDIT: It's not just the Midwest, it's everywhere, trust me.
@term "gay": I will admit, I used to use it a lot, but then I met a few guys who actually are, and even a few girls, and I am a little lighter on the term now. I still hear it a lot around school though, which irritates me. I won't take my religious beliefs into the discussion, as I would seem anti-gay. I try not to be, though, as I'm accepting of all people, or I at least try to be.
Anyways, my poem is now memorized!! Me gustas cuando callas...ok, I won't spout out the whole thing right now.
EDIT: Congrats, KK!! *still wish I could do some FCCs*
Thanks for the congrats everyone. This is actually the second time I've gotten to the third round, although that other time I had a no show opponent first round and the next round my opponent posted a half finished card w/out a render and forgot about it. This time it was a close match in both rounds.
'Gay' offends me as a remark, and always has. The one word that really gets me offended is using 'retarded' as an insult. I swear that there are few things that can get me to get really, honestly angry, and that is one of them. The word itself offends me to no end, as well.
My brother is a bit on the slow side, and he is a wonderful person despite his limitations. People like him have a disadvantage already, putting them down makes me offended more than anything.
No, I am not stupid enough to jump down anyone's throat about it, but if I associate with someone regularly, I will sternly warn them that I do not tolerate such things. Oddly enough, a warning is all I need to give. I must have inherited the ability to intimidate people from my father, who is quite effective at it.

Well, I don't know if I'm as bad as Photon's little brother, but I'm guilty of said crime. I, of course, mean no disrespect or bigotry by it, as I'm tolerant of all people.
Its just one of those things that people say, I guess. Remember when Eminem was/probably still is heckled/hated/etc. for his use of the word "***?" Its kinda like that in how you transcend the word's actual meaning and make it mean something completely different. People will still take offense, but I think its so ingrained into people's vocabulary and manner of speaking that it can't be avoided sometimes. That doesn't make it right by any means though.
Edit: Pardon the *'s. And me not censoring it myself. I'm sure you can guess what it is though. Its the rather hateful term for a gay person. Or a cigarette in the UK.
Strongbad: It wasn't meant to be particularly revealing of Nai's character. It's his oath as a defender of justice and good in the world. Written for an event currently going on in one of the RPs I play him in. It was originally going to be a quick history of him. But when I realized he would be saying it, I thought that would be way too egotistical of him as a character, so I changed it to an oath.
Nai, I think the poem is very good for an RP character - what I mean is, it seems to fit that entire general feel, as far as you've described the character. It has quite a romantic quality to it, I think it's very good and appropriate.
Edit: Well, good night everyone. I have work tomorrow, and I only have to work three days this week. I'm quite glad of that, really, as I'm sure you can all imagine.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Something happened the other day that I'd like to say to everyone;
I was at the mall looking through some games. I didn't have much of a reason to be there, I was just window shopping (a rare act for me.)
Anyways, this cute girl walked up wearing what I believe was an Inuyasha t-shirt, but I'm not sure as to the exact anime. I, feeling bold for what may be the first time in years, walked up to her and said hello.
I used her shirt as a conversation starter, and asked her what anime she liked. She listed off several anime, such as Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, and several others. Then she asked me the same question.
My first instinct was to name an anime that sounds impressive; Wolf's Rain, FMA, or something else. I also compiled a brief list of anime in my head that have names I remember, but that I honestly haven't seen. I would have been telling a half-truth at best, however, as I haven't seen much of any of the shows I thought of, if any of them.
The first words out of my mouth were 'Dragonball Z'. Why did I say that? I'm not ashamed to say that I watched the show when it was still aired here. It is, however, one of few anime that I can say I know much about. I could have also said Trigun, or Cowboy Bebop, or even Naruto, but I chose Dragonball Z. I chose it, frankly, because I knew it tends to get a bad rep from anime fans.
She immediately laughed at me. Rather than feeling embarrased, I felt bolder. I asked her what was funny.
her answer? 'Dragonball Z sucks'. I chuckled to myself, and shook my head. Then, bolder still, I said.
"if it wasn't for Dragonball Z, there wouldn't be much of an american market for anime." I didn't stop chuckling, though. I then smiled and said. "if it wasn't for Dragonball Z, you probably wouldn't be wearing that shirt right now."
To my surprise, she started up a random conversation about, of all subjects, Dragonball Z. It was a casual conversation about how rediculous the show can be, how absurd the characters can be, and so on. Unfortunately, she was 17 (should have seen it coming, actually), but she was actually flirting with me!
The reason why I'm saying all of this is that I, frankly, didn't care what she thought. I decided to, for the first time in my real life, be honest to someone else about myself. It was at that moment that I realized one of the main reasons that I wasn't happy with myself. I wasn't accepting myself, and was making lies and excuses for my opinions, likes and dislikes. I feel better about myself than I have in years, and feel more free, too.
Just thought I'd let that out

Congrats, Psychoburner, that actually does sound like a cool experience. It is very nice to meet a stranger and have a conversation about something that you would not usually talk about, because you do not feel as embarrased to say how you feel. I think that is why so many people are attracted to the Coffeehouse. It is a place where people can talk about things in their life without feeling embarrassed. I have said a lot of things in here that I would never say to my friends, and I haven't even said anything too revealing or embarrasing. I think it is just a part of human nature to be more open to talking about things with strangers. Anyway, I'm glad you had that experience and feel better about yourself now.
Sounds wonderful, Psychoburner. You did a good jorb flirting. And InuYasha is freaking Dragon Ball Z for girls anyways
Night Mamelon! Sleep well
Mom's party was great--a near-total surprise for her. She was mad that everyone forgot it earlier, until we pulled out streamers, balloons, presents, and cake. It was fun stuffs.
That DOES sound like a cool experience. Yeah, it sucks that she was young, but it's great that you got a rather cool conversation out of it, and learned not to be embarrassed. I try not to be embarrassed about my experiences, likes, dislikes, the like (no pun intended). It's hard not to, sometimes, but it's nice to just exist as I am without having to worry about what other people think.
Edit: Alacar has a point, too. It's got as many episodes, as least. And is completely ridiculous in many, many ways.
Yeah, but Inuyasha fans like to pretend that there's a great deal of depth there. I just proved to her that any show will reveal depth if you look into it hard enough. Dragonball Z may not be the deepest show on the planet, but there are some deeper, if not actually deep, parts of the show.
I just didn't care. I figured hey, this girl's someone I've never met before, and probably never will again, who cares what she thinks? Since girls these days tend to have the funny habit of not looking their age, I took a gamble. Nobody can get arrested for innocent flirting, at least not in Michigan anyway

I love VG Cats. You remember the V episode for Halloween not long ago? My friend said he would give 100 dollars to anyone that could recite that from memory.
I could link you, Alacar, to a small listing of the already completed stuff for him, but...
Oh, and since I'm writing the story for him and the rest, we need to define who's in it, so I can get their permission to write them, and then learn the personalities so I can write the effectively.
That's a good question, Nai. I know I want to use a character designed by ethersphere, but who else wants to be in my next block? I can really only accept like up to 3 more people.. KoolKoal is dying to be in it, I know that.
I wouldn't mind putting in a character, Alacar. I can think of any sort of character you want. It'd be cool to invent a character for it, to be honest, and I'd love to do it.

Hmm, I was thinking over a grumpy wizard loner, or a young rougish goblin. If it was the goblin it would have to be in a world where goblins aren't the complete idiots they are in most fantasy settings.
