Alright, I had to put this joke my priest put in his christmas eve homily tonight on the forums. Here it is:
Quote from Yusuke"s Priest »
Billy had been anticipating christmas all year. When his mom asked him what he wanted, he said he wanted a Playstation 3.
"Well, you haven't been the best boy this year," his mom said.
Determined to get a PS3, Billy went into his room, pulled out a paper and pen, and wrote "Dear Santa, I have been a really good boy this year." Billy suddenly realized that if his mom knew that he had been bad, Santa would definitely know.
Scrapping his old piece of paper, he started a new one, which read, "Dear God, I have tried to be a good boy this year." Billy's mind went through a similar process that it had just done 5 seconds ago, and he realized God knew he wasn't trying either.
In contemplation, Billy looked up at his bookshelf and saw a statue of the Virgin Mary. Billy picked up the statue, wrapped it in tissue, and stuck it in a shoe box. Billy then sat down and starting writing another letter, which read:
Dear God,
I am holding your mother hostage....
I was laughing really, really hard
Also, I will be posting what I receive for Christmas tomorrow. I hope I get good shtuff

The music was incredible. I then got Stepmania back on my computer and got it's music, and after showing it to many people, one of my roommates found a demo of the game, and I can now say I've tried the game. As I said, it's addicting, and if nothing else, I have a great deal of appreciation for the music
Just jumping in to say hi to Arguas, and to mention that even though what she said on the RotW may or may not have been how you percieve it, it's what Omna percieves it to be. Truth or not.
Merry Christmas to all those on the east cost of the USA. I'm out for tonight. I'll see you all tomorrow morning!

And I'm pointing out that it's not necessarily correct from my perspective.
Merry Christmas for everyone here who celebrates it or supports it
I would like to issue a public apology for my tone regarding Omna's RotW... I'm guessing my pride got in the way a little bit, even before the Christmas spirit which I cherish so much. Sorry, I guess I'm just being bitter.
@Ryan: I would normally never say something like this, because I believe people should be free to share whatever they feel like here (God knows I do). I have absolutely no problem with hearing about either your issues, Danica's, or the issues that exist between you two. However, there's a certain level of drama that you, in particular, bring onto this forum. You tend to phrase things in a confrontational way that is inappropriate for this context. Recently you seem to eschew simply expressing your feelings in lieu of making insinuations about Danica. We all realize that no one is how they seem on the internet, and it seems evident to me that the only reason you decided to point this out about her is because of some point you meant to demonstrate about your current dynamic with her, and how much control you have over it. Not because there was any danger of confusion. I can think of other times when this has happened, but I don't wish to drudge up old quotes unnecessarily.
I don't mean to begrudge you your feelings, but you are bringing personal conflicts with her directly onto the forum, which is not appropriate.
Talking about the situation itself is fine, but please keep comments of this nature addressed to or about each other in private from now on.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
The cat is whispering to the mouse, "when Master goes to sleep, we'll strike up the band and have ourselves a REAL PARTY~"
The mouse whispers back, "Tie their shoes together for good measure."
Night, all. And don't let petty crap sour your eggnog tonight. There's more than enough evil out there coming from the people we don't know, to give or take it from the people we do choose to know.

Which is why I apologized. It wasn't a means to show my control over the situation, at least not consciously, but after considering what I said I felt like that is indeed what I had done. Considering that I'm trying not to bring drama, this is something that I am deeply sorry for.
Merry christmas to everyone. May you all be blessed on this day. May you be merry, embrace kindness, and share what is most precious to you with those around you. God loves us all.
above = my current away message. I know I've already said my cheer to everyone, but I merely felt like reiterating.
Merry Christmas, guys, from the west coast, for like the 10th time. I made it to the final round of the FCC, which is a pretty nice Christmas present. Anyway, good night and may you all get what you wanted for Christmas
Congratulations strongbad.. its good to hear things like that happen! As for me, my Christmas gift to myself (a cheap one ) was getting OUT of Agrabah! Damnnnnnnn it.. that was hard to find the treasure room... Finally got to it, got all the chests in the treasure room, beat Jafar and Genie Jafar, and got out of the Cave of Wonders.. went into the storage room and zipped out to Traverse Town where I'm gonna give Merlin another one of those Torn Pages.. I stopped there... anywayyyyy... I also got the Warp Drive so wii! Also, I just rented FFXII to try out..see if i like it, and if i do, enough, maybe I'll buy it for myself... I'm also contemplating buying KH2, Soul Calibur III, and maybe some others... Me love my PS2 games Anyway... So far I've gotten $40 in Barnes & Noble giftcards, $20 to my local mall... and I've just had one get-together with probably more giftcards coming tmw morning/afternoon.. So excited!! Plus whatever my mom got me:)
But anyway I need to wake up early tmw, to open presents and eat bacon, toast, cinnamon chip bread and hot chocolate... ahh...Christmas!
I look forward to playin' more PS2 stuff tmw, perhaps playing ChronoTrigger and Wild Arms 3 in addition to FFXII and Kingdom Hearts:) Any suggestions for Wild Arms 3???
OMG also... Arena was great.... I loved how the battles were really Magic-oriented, using terminology you recognized from cards, and suchforth.. also, Garth was an incredible hero.. I think he's a favorite character of mine now hehe... I can really see why Ryan liked that book.. I can see a few elements of it that really stood out that he would enjoy.. but anyway, Arguas and i can hash that out later today.. ... I wonder if that book is still in print.. But anyway, the ending was awesome.. loved it. The end battles were kinda forced but I still enjoyed it a great deal.. makes me grin to think of Arguas & Omna (in ACD block and forthcoming) as Planes Walkers..
Next book I'm tryin' to decide between "Three Weeks with my Brother" by Nicholas Sparks, "S is for Silence" by Sue Grafton, "Violets Are Blue" by James Patterson, or "Angels Flight" by Michael Connelly... All good-sounding books.. Arena took me a lonnnggg time to read... I needed a lot of time for shopping and other things in the past week so I wasn't able to read nearly as much as I would have liked.. I'll probably read the next few books relatively quickly though...
Anyway.. Yearning for some good Magic.. I may do some organizing of my cards in the next couple days.. Got a jumble of stuff.. haven't had a chance to look through some of the stuff a mutual friend of Ryan's and mine gave me at the recent draft over Thanksgiving break...
And btw, Alacar... didn't really feel the need to nitpick more than once that i've only had experience in Limited... I'm still a growing player, but yes, yes, yes, I've only played Limited.. So? Limited is a good setting for learning, I think. "Learn Limited, then Construct Confidently" A quote I made up on the spot
Anyway... Should be a good day tmw, with some gameplaying (if I can rip my mom away from the TV) and reading and writing... a tradition of mine is to write up a storm the few days after Christmas.. for the past 4 years its been that way.... Poetry spawns around the holidays, seriously Probably cuz my mom always gets me a journal, and four years ago, I met the guy who inspired the true love of writing and the written word in me.. In honorof that, I'll be posting the poem I wrote that day (Dec. 26, 2002) about the Beauty of Words..
Sigh.. good to be back here, however briefly.... I will be reading back when I get a chance as well... maybe not until I get back to RIT, who knows.
Good night everybody and be sure to have yourselves a MERRY COFFEEHOUSE CHRISTMAS!!!!
Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas! Here's hoping everyone got what they wanted. I opened most of the gifts I got a few days ago and the stuff that didn't come in yet - well, I already know what that is... This year's loot wasn't too bad: An ATHF t-shirt and a TMNT retro t-shirt from my girl (thank you soooo much again if you're reading this, in addition to some candy and a 5" or so stuff penguin that sings "Winter Wonderland", Guitar Hero II bundle with a free controller gig bag and a new Codebreaker from myself (everyone needs to treat themselves occasionally :P), Getting about 150 dollars in cash too from the rest of my family too which I actually have very little use for right now but money never sucks. Oh and my mom actually got something nicer than me. There's a reserve order for her waitin at an EB for a Nintendo DS Lite (thanks to me ). Seriously. She's actually been whining about wanting one of these things since they came out. It's a little funny really...
Anyway just thought I'd share the joy of this morning with everyone here. Here's to a wonderful rest of the day for all of us.
First: Sorry to those who read both the 499 clan thread and this one...
Hello, I’m back from a few days’ Christmas abscense (like if somebody missed me…)
Friday the 22nd, we most likely had our last FNM of 2006, which I won (third in a row, whehey!) with my “This Girl”-deck, which I’m starting to really love This is the first “main” deck that hasn’t started to bore me after 1 1/2-2 months for some time. I won, despite facing three of the best four players. In the first game, I faced my friend Kim’s annoying :symw:/:symb: Martyr-control. I won the first game because of Sacred Mesa (he couldn’t get his Mortifies). The second game was a really long one, and I won because of 3 Firemane Angels and 2 Demonfires
Next game was against another friend’s Triskytron-deck. First game he had the Urzatron, Academy Ruins and Triskelavus (which he had just summoned), was out of mana and passed the turn. I had Confiscate and the mana to cast it, but it was difficult to choose what to steal, a Tron-piece, Triskelavus or Ruins. I chose Ruins, and let me hit me for 4. Next turn, I managed to Wrath the Triskelavus away (and taking 3 from the Triskelavite tokens), and from there it was easy. That Confiscate won me the game... In the next game he got Tron quickly, but no Triskelavus. I knew he had multiple counterspells (both Draining Whelk and Spell Burst) so I chose to wait for Firemane resurrection or hellbent Demonfire. I did so, he could do nothing, and I won.
Last game (only 3 rounds this Friday) was against the stand-in tournament organizer’s Gruul deck. Kind of weird deck, it used the snow engine (Scrying Sheets, Boreal Druid, snow-covered basics), Primal Forcemage but no Giant Solifuge! I didn’t see what it was there for. It also ran Bogardan Hellkite and Demonfire. The first game was easy. He started with lots of aggro, but my third-turn Wrath (with Signet help) was enough to turn the game. Game 2 was horrible, though I had a great opening hand. But it wasn’t that great when he destroyed my lone Hallowed Fountain with a second-turn Cryoclasm, and 3 more land destruction spells made it go to game 3. Game 3 was very interesting, he had 2 early Kird Apes and a Magus of the Scroll and a turn 3 Scab-Clan Mauler. I had a Court Hussar and a turn 4 Lightning Angel (by that time I was down to 9). I burned his Ohran Viper with a Lightning Helix, and discarded 2 Firemane Angels with a Compulsive Research. I was now at 8. Next turn, he attacked with 2 Kird Apes and his Scab-Clan Mauler. I was very afraid of losing my Lightning Angel, but I was even more afraid of Hit//Run, which I suspected he ran. So I blocked SCM with LA, and Hussar on Ape, and took 2 (6 life). He now had 5 mana. He played Stone Rain on one of my 2 untapped Hallowed Fountains, and then [card]Demonfire[card]d Lightning Angel for 1. How lucky! With my 1 remaining mana I Spell Snared his Demonfire (he had 1 card left on his hand) and won the game. One of the coolest plays I’ve done.
Enough about Magic
The 24th, Sunday this year, is the “most important” Christmas day in Norway. This is the day when everybody go to church, presents get opened, and so on. What I got this Christmas was, basically:
-A mobile phone (I lost my old one in a igloo trip with my class last year, so I had to use my even older phone which hardly worked at all)
-A Simpsons collection
-A movie called The motorcycle diaries
-Wireless headphones
-Lots of socks
-A small card album with Ravenous Baloth, Birds of Paradise and Loxodon Hierarch from one of my friends.
How have you been? What have I missed during the last 200 posts?
Julie is obsessed with everything Japanese, and Danica got her a shirt that says, in Japanese, "I'm looking for a Japanese boyfriend.")
Phone number? More info? This person is still single how?
Anyway, just stopping by to say hello. Merry Christmas, everybody, and happy holidays to all those who don't celebrate it. I'll have the Anime of the Week up later today, since I won't have time the rest of this week.
Right now I'm sitting in front of my new 15" LCD flatscreen monitor... WOW. That one came out of left-field, a total surprise to be sure, but I love it to death. *Hugs monitor* My old monitor was the standard rear-projection type that takes up half of your desk, and I'm glad to be rid of it. I even changed my wallpaper and skins for a new sleeker, sexier look.
I got a lot more than I expected (seriously, I would've been happy with just the monitor), including two of the movies I asked for, Castle of Cagliostro and Porco Rosso, as well as the first two volumes of GITS: SAC 2nd Gig. My whole family got an Xbox 360, which was another surprise, since I figured they wouldn't go for it since I had already bought myself a Wii - but no, my step-dad gets us the 360 and about 4 games for it, including Gears of War and Tomb Raider: Legends. Talk about a day for surprises. I feel like a little kid again - but christmas will do that to you.

AotW will be up soon.
First of all, Julie is currently a freshman at University of Hawaii. Really nice innocent-ish girl, and is a really great friend to have. Pretty tall too. As I said, loves everything Japanese. Facebook Julie Sykalis I assume a bit too young to be your type, right Stuff? :-p
My monitor actually crapped out on me recently, basically instantaneously "fogged up". Gateway customer service wasn't too helpful about it either, so right now I'm borrowing an older monitor from my family.
I'm really hoping this is a joyous day for everyone... All of today Danica and I are able to talk, and I think we're both keeping things positive, which is really nice, and I'm appreciating it at this point.
R&D is kind of irritating me at the moment, but I suppose I now have a form of leadership all of the sudden, and I really haven't been there too often in a while. So, interesting stuff in that respect.
Christmas is going to hopefully be wonderful for me, with so much family here. Being that I have religious obligations soon though, I really should be signing off of here and focusing on getting that stuff soon.
Got a kitty in my lap (he's feeling better, thanks!) and a mug of cocoa at my side and getting ready to go to a friend's house for big Christmas dinner soon, taking cookies and other sweets because riding a bike with a homemade pie or a dish of stuffing doesn't work well.
Was working out the details with our shop owner yesterday about the new year's tournament schedule, and looks like we have several possible slots for Legacy and maybe Tribal Wars. I'll be resurrecting the old Banner for links to our tournament schedules soon. (The announcements online are my Christmas present to the folks at Walt's Cards/Patapsco magic.) I might actually start playing again (I'll be out of a job come Feb 1, so Friday's my day off )
20 bucks from my uncle.
A Mint Proof Coin Set from my Birth Year.
Harry Potter 2007 Portrait Calender
The Far Side On the Wall 2007 Calender
Ravnica: City of Guilds, Guildpact, and Dissension Novels
An Authentic Guitar-Tab (c) Edition Van Halen Songbook (His Complete Works with Complete Solos (Yes, that includes Eruption))
A Time Spiral Booster Box
and a Sansa e260 4 GB MP3 player
Great christmas. Update on the cards soon.

Uncle [T]utor of the [T]'s Winner of Weekly Contest 46!
We watched the copy of Critters that I got my brother (since he likes campy old horror movies), and now I'm watching stuff on my new monitor while my stepdad plays Perfect Dark on the 360 in the next room. I think he really got if for himself.
I wish Craven had been able to put up the new Av/Sig weekly contest for this week, but it looks like he had other obligations. Oh well. I just have to decide on an anime for AotW now. I was thinking about doing a christmas anime, but the only dedicated christmas anime I can think of is Itsudatte My Santa, and it's pretty terrible... We'll see.
Lol to Mr. Stuff, as I wasn't sure whether or not you were kidding... I was thinking of tacking a "likes long walks on the beach" surtag on the whole description, but hey, decided against it :-p
Although what I got doesn't truly matter, it is nice to have my own little DDR pad in good shape... and FFXII
Well, merry Christmas to all, even though I don't celebrate it. Went out driving today around the strip mall. Soon I'll be able to go around to my friends' houses.
@Everyone's presents: They sound great.
@Faerie Lord's cards: They're good. The Gifts card reminds me a lot like Ill-Gotten Gains.
Hello, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Land of Enchantment. I just got finished lunch and boy am I stuffed! Good helpings of ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and corn will do that. I generally don't get much for Christmas, due to my age and my parents have no idea of what to get me, I got some good spending money and the "Here & Now" edition of Monopoly as kind of a gag gift. I always want to play a game around the holidays and they usually become heated rivalries between me and my dad.
I'm probably going out shopping tomorrow, so I should be able to pick up a few nice things with the money I received. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a place that has DS's instock. and FF3. and Mario Kart. That's pretty much the smaller stuff on my list of games to get. This is what it looks like right now:
Wii
Wii
Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess
Red Steel
GC
Tales of Symphonia
PS2
Final Fantasy 12
Radiata Stories
Tales of the Abyss
.Hack//G.U. Vol 1: Rebirth
DragonQuest 8
DS
Mario Kart DS
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Final Fantasy III
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
So, yeah. Needless to say, I've got plenty o' games to get and play. And on top of that, I'm seriously considering picking up WoW. So many games, so little time.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Anyway just thought I'd share the joy of this morning with everyone here. Here's to a wonderful rest of the day for all of us.
You people and your chocolate... :-p
Here.
*serves up a mug of hot chocolate*
wow, you people :-p
By the way, gotta love MaRo from www.ugmadness.net :-p

Here's a more complete list of what I got, in the "what did you get for christmas?" thread.
We'll see.
Although what I got doesn't truly matter, it is nice to have my own little DDR pad in good shape... and FFXII

@Everyone's presents: They sound great.
@Faerie Lord's cards: They're good. The Gifts card reminds me a lot like Ill-Gotten Gains.
My thoughts exactly. A very strong card indeed.
Also, @FL: What does Wisdom mean? I don't find a reminder text which says it...
I'm probably going out shopping tomorrow, so I should be able to pick up a few nice things with the money I received. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a place that has DS's instock. and FF3. and Mario Kart. That's pretty much the smaller stuff on my list of games to get. This is what it looks like right now:
Wii
Wii
Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess
Red Steel
GC
Tales of Symphonia
PS2
Final Fantasy 12
Radiata Stories
Tales of the Abyss
.Hack//G.U. Vol 1: Rebirth
DragonQuest 8
DS
Mario Kart DS
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Final Fantasy III
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
So, yeah. Needless to say, I've got plenty o' games to get and play. And on top of that, I'm seriously considering picking up WoW. So many games, so little time.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Windmills do not work that way!
