Hey man I'm in the same boat as you. Junior year, second semester, tough stuff. Did you know the origin of SB?
Yeah, I did. I actually did not know that it was an NES game, but I knew that he came from a video game of some sort and they were wrestlers. Yeah, I just think it's so cool how it started out as the Chapman brothers just making random cartoons, and now it's become a huge thing. I hope they keep it up for a while. H*R is one of those things that you tell your kids about when you are older about the "good ol' days" :).

Cool, sounds good. I'm curious to see how much the characters actually look like the modern day Strong Bad.
Oh, and in other news, I think I'm coming down with a cold or something. There's a huge thing going around my school and my brothers' school, and I think it finally caught up to me. I'm not feeling too bad right now, though, luckily. Let's hope it stays that way.
*Yawn* Hey everybody. Nap time's over. So, the first day wasn't bad. It was really boring at first because all I was doing was paperwork, but once I got working I dind't mind it much. I only was there for about 4 1/2 hours, then went and did some light shopping with my mother. It was nice, overall. It's been a while since I got some sunlight and was able to move about during my daily routine.
@My Name: I am quite aware of what it means. Actually, a more apt defintion is a "small, fortified hill or knoll." And yes, this is derived from the word for "nipple" due to the similarity in shape. I looked up what it meant shortly after I started using it, and wasn't fazed. It actually came into use one night when I was trying to come up with a name for the main character of story project, and a friend of mine suggested "How about the name Mamelon? I saw that in a book once." I loved the way the name simply sounded, so decided to use it.
I began using it as a screen name because I wanted one that seemed like an individual's name and not just a title or nickname.

As an additional cost to play Epiphany, sacrifice the permanent with the highest converted mana cost among permanents you control.
Draw cards equal to the converted mana cost of the sacrificed permanent. Discard all cards named Epiphany drawn this way.

If you like anime at all, it's worth a look. I'm wondering if I shouldn't have put something else besides KGNE for the drama video, though, or maybe worked the "Phenomenon" Naruto video in there some way. But, regardless, there it is, all 8 sections of it. Now, time for me to go back to helping my brother with algebra. That, and listening to "For What It's Worth". Such a great song, and a great video to go with it.

Ah, no problem. I felt the same way with my sickness, but it went away quickly and easily. All you need to do is watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory while eating a fruity flavored popsicle, and that cold will be gone before you get to the part with the geese that lay golden eggs.
No, seriously......I did that, and I felt instantly better........>.>

Mamelon, congrats on making it through work and enjoying it. There is nothing better to find in a job than one that is enjoyable.
Jack, Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!! I remember being 17, and it wasn't so bad. One more year til a bit more freedom.
And something that has been on my mind. Does anyone have any weird phrases that they can't seem to make sense of? Someone said to be a week or so ago that "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas." It's a bit funny and I'm sure there's some sense to it. I guess the context it was said in was a bit random (middle of class), but does anyone have a take on it? I'd also like to hear a few other funny/random/weird phrases if anyone has some. It might be an interesting topic...
*Dreia runs from the can of worms she just opened up*
@Cecilia: Thanks. I'm not feeling too bad right now, but who knows what can happen overnight?
@Jack: Thanks also. Oh and by the way, my friend has a shirt with your avatar on it (his name is jack, obviously). Yeah, I just thought I'd throw that out there .
Well I'm going to bed now. Tomorrow's a bad day for school, but hopefully I can get through it, because once it gets to Friday, I'm home-free. Have a good night everyone!
Mr. Stuff: I have to say, I prefer the new version. I only prefer it, though, because it's more true to the book. The Oompa Loompas were NOT supposed to be orange with green hair, and were only put that way to be politically correct. There were NO Geese with Golden Eggs, that I can remember. It was really squirrels with nuts. And all the Oompa Loompa songs use the real words that Roald Dahl wrote in the book.
Speaking of, did you know that Roald Dahl is credited for writing the screen-play of the James Bond movie "You Only Live Twice"? I don't think there are two people with that name.
On another note... A week after sending an apologetic email to my ex (I'm debating whether that prefix applies here), she responded with a bit of an apology. I'm trying to decide what to do from here.
I also have some bad news...... Remember how I said I'm graduating in May?? Well......... I'm not.
Good news is, I can still walk, but the bad news is, I need to stay for Fall Quarter of next year... Which basically means, that shoots my plans of going to Grad school in the fall... Which I think I was behind on applying for, anyway... But this also means I need to find a job for the summer... I'm considering asking the people at Harvard if they have any room for me again... and then possibly a continued position after I fully graduate in November. I just need to find someplace to work for a while... a year or two, after I finish in November, until I'm ready for grad school..
I'm not sure of my definite plans, but I do know I'm going to be needing to stay at RIT for 3 more months...
In a way I'm happy about this, because this gives me more of a chance to prepare and continue with what I want to do, without rushing/pushing myself... But at the same time, I'm kind of just like..... "I thought I was DONE, dammit......" So... yea Four more classes in fall quarter. I guess I'm going to be a 5th year.... bleh. I really thought I was going to avoid that.
... I'm very sorry to hear that Danica

And I will definitely pray for Photon for finding a new job. Good luck to him; I really do hope he can find something that he loves.
I hate where he works. We both used to work for an organization that was health-care oriented and was pretty crummy in terms of company policies and how they treated employees. But that was nothing compared to this place. The administration acts towards their employees like they are humoring them by letting them work there, and that none of them matter. Which is supremely foolish, juvenile, and spiteful, since they are horrendously understaffed. So not only does he have to to frequently work overtime, but they are very abusive employers to begin with. They underpay, they illegally deny benefits (under the assumption that no one will report it for fear of being fired), and they use manipulation, intimidation, and double-speak to get what they want.
Joshua is a very good personal care provider, and he never misses a beat when it comes to procedure or practical skill. I know he can seem angular and cranky at times, but he's actually quite responsible and nurturing. He's hardly ever done less than 110% at that job (he goes out of his way to make freakin' five course meals for them, for Heaven's sakes!), and yet their attitude towards him is as though he never does anything right and they're being so magnanimous just by letting him work there.
Right now he's afraid one of his coworkers (who's a total flake) might walk out and leave him to cover the rest of weekend shift, leaving him to work for literally six or seven days this week. Which would be utter nonsense. He shouldn't have to work that much.
I really hope that doesn't happen, but either way, I wish he could find another job soon, because this one sucks so much *** it's not even funny.

Strongbad, I hope you feel better soon.. being sick is definitely nooo picnic. I hated being sick..I was sick right after Christmas break... Not so sick I couldn't go to class (just had a sore throat, much like you I'd imagine) but yea..it was nasty.. and I gave it to Arguas at the time.. whoopsie!

A couple thoughts for the 'House today.
1) How do you feel about the pace of the House? Do you feel drowned out, do you feel intimidated by the sheer amount of posts?? I know we talked about this recently but I was chatting with someone last night about it, and I wondered how many of you felt like you couldn't participate simply because you a) didn't have much to say and b) felt that the conversation simply goes too fast for anything to stick??
2) I wonder... someone brought up with me yesterday... Do you feel as though I don't comment to other regulars' posts???? I was under the impression I did, but a couple people brought it to my attention that they felt I don't contribute as meaningfully or as individually/often as I used to. Thoughts on this as well??
Due to this, I'm going to refrain talking about my day until some responses come in, ensuring that I'm getting my points across.

Ugh. I know that feeling. I *almost* didn't graduate on time - I think I accidentally took the wrong course my last quarter there. I found out a couple weeks into the quarter, talked to my adviser, and since he didn't know whether it was my mistake or his, he just passed me through. It was still hard though, having to take three 20-hour quarters in a row with all my hardest upper level classes just to get there. It's a lot harder than they make it seem to graduate in 4 years.

Yikes. Here's to hoping Josh is able to find something soon, although I know it can be hard to find time to look for a new job when you're already so busy with the one you've got. Hang in there, and try not to let it get you down.
@Janus: I don't follow Naruto, but I do know where I can look it up. I'll have an answer in an hour or three when I get home.
edit:
@Danica: I think you do a fine job. The coffeehouse can be a lot to keep up with, especially for someone as busy as you are. There is no way that any one person can respond to everything that anyone brings up all at one time. I know I only pick and choose a few things that interest me to respond to, and I think most people do the same. Don't worry about it.

1)I used to feel that way, but I find I am able to keep up with things, for the most pasrt. I think the activity level is healthy,ad should be encouraged. We just need to keep the friendly atmosphere, and not become detached from each other.
2) I believe I made that comment to someone.(I'm looking at you, Alacar :argh:) Lately, you seem to pop-in, maybe comment on something someone else said, and then start talking about your day, or what you and Ryan are currently up to. And I think if you go back, and read your posts, you will agree with me. Normally, I wouldn't care that much, but you're one of the leaders of the coffee house, and you set the pace for the rest of us. I'm not trying to be rude, this is just what I have observed.

*Dreia runs from the can of worms she just opened up*
Have a good night everyone. *big hugs*

My helpdesk should you need me.
That's some pretty cool artwork your mother made
Also...
... I'm very sorry to hear that Danica

Good luck on achieving your goals Cecilia
Also, I like that Legacy deck you posted! I just wonder though, don't you get into mana trouble easilly because of the many WW and BB costs?
@ Alacar & Evan:
There's an entry on Strongbad in Wikipedia.
@ Mamelon:
One of the reasons I like the songs by Rammstein is because they are quite diverse and show that the German language is indeed very rich. Your earlier reply reminded me of that
@ Jack:
A bit late, but happy birthday!

I was wondering, do you happen to know what the entry song for the final series of Naruto is?

Hello? Anybody there?
Well I'm off to school. I've got english, history, and spanish today, my three least favorite classes :/. I'll probably end up sleeping through most of them though. And if anyone cares, I'm not feeling too sick today. I've got a little sore throat, but other than that, I'm good. Well, see you guys later!

Also, I have a thought for the Coffeehouse. Give up a prayer or positive sentiment for Photon Eater, who is in a job crisis right now. I really wish he could find a new job, and soon.

Thanks, Mamelon. I hope so also.
And I will definitely pray for Photon for finding a new job. Good luck to him; I really do hope he can find something that he loves.

My prayers are with him.

I certainly hope he finds a solution to the job problem soon, as that sounds awful.
Good morning Sephy!
Strongbad, I hope you feel better soon.. being sick is definitely nooo picnic. I hated being sick..I was sick right after Christmas break... Not so sick I couldn't go to class (just had a sore throat, much like you I'd imagine) but yea..it was nasty.. and I gave it to Arguas at the time.. whoopsie!
Heyo Janus! Make sure you check your PMs
Magic Coffeehouse!

And, I don't know you that well, Danica, as I'm sort of a newcomer to the coffeehouse, but you seem to do a good job.
