After staying up till 4am, I've finally managed to find all the art for the cards that are keeping their original arts in Core Set: Salvation. I have to just write the flavor text, but the art is done.. and done! WHEW! Cutting/pasting art from magiccards.info OR scouring for artist sites/full size pictures is.. TIME CONSUMING. Good gravy. There are only a handful of cards that I thought deserved new art (and we could find any) so I figured I'd just ask the House for help finding the art. I'm a LITTLE tired of hunting across the web at the moment, but don't fear--I will keep looking, with or without you!
Long story short, I need suggestions for art for the following cards:
If you need help finding art.. look at the card. Find something similar or something that fits with the card abilities. If we cant find anything we'll use the original.

@Yukora: That's a good avvy, better than your others.
@Snoop: Going back to work always sucks. My mom has said that the new year makes her sad because it's pretty much the end of the two-month-long holiday season.
@Fiesta Bowl: That was one great game. Boise State did some amazing play calling in their tying score and their game-winning score. No one expects the Statue of Liberty play!
@Zero: Welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay.
@Alacar: I'm no good at finding images, but I'll try to find a couple.
My entry is in for the first round of the FCC, and I think I might have a winner on my hands. Check the thread for what I made.
*Pokes his head in* So yeah. I guess there's a good bit of conversation that I missed, but I'm thinking due to the subject matter, that's a good thing. Anyway, a warm welcome to y'all on the second day of 2007. Tomorrow is Marilyn Manson's birthday. A fun fact for those not in the know =)
@Danica: Uhm...not to be rude, sweetie, but do you give the instruction manual a good going-over before playing a game? I'm just asking because my mother would always play RPGs we bought and never know how to save her game or use certain abilities, and it was only because she ignored the instruction manual. In any case, good luck with Wild ARMs 3; it's a hell of a game that took me a long time to get through, but it's good fun.
Well, today I'm all by my lonesome because Photon's stuck at work. It's no biggie; I have all the time I need to play some games, keep up with the housework, and do some writing. I've actually come up with a system of mechanics for the FF4 RP I've been running for some time, and it's got me excited. I'd love to find some new players, but that's a hard thing to do for some games, so I'm not worried about it just yet.
So my dad, who was scheduled to get his surgery tomorrow, is getting it today. His tumor, while still benign (to my knowledge), is getting bigger. I could tell something was wrong because all last night he'd been breathing big, heavy sighs. I'm real worried, but I believe everything will be OK.
Too bad, MW Nothing is as scary as what you are suffering right now, I know how it feels. I remember one year back in time (January 7th, 2006), when my mother broke her back. She are almost completely healthy now, but she was lucky not to get partially or fully disabled. Terrible, terrible...
Yes, I hear so many scary stories from people about there parents getting into serious trouble, either its with the law, or with health or whatever. For example, the other day a girlfriend of mine was talking to be about her girlfriend that had watched her parents fight, for real, and her father was beating her mother so hard that she got serious injuries, and had to go to hospital and so on. But again, there where all so calm, is it to hide that they are scared? Like on newyearseve, a classmate of mine, had his stephmother in the drunkarrest because she was so drunk that she had broke a lots of stuff, like lamps and windows when she became angry, and tried to hit her husband and scrathed him and all, while the whole party was watching. So my firends father took the kids out with the dog, running away, and so did the other guest, untill they could call the police to pick her up. But there was one thing. My friend hates her, and is just glad for what happened, because now she will be out of the family, something he is happy for. Seems kind of insane to me realy, to face it that way! What do you think? Is it a desperate way to try to look at the bright side of things, or to hide the missery?

Best wishes for your father, MW. Kind of Ironic since he's a neurologist...I think you told us some time ago...hope he will make a perfect recovery. if anything, now he will have a unique perspective on the types of problems some of his patients have, that other neurologists may not have.
Sad to see families torn apart like that gomp. We often don't know what goes on behind closed doors, and one family may seem entirely wholesome but behind the scenes they are bitter and hostile and dysfunctional. At the very least I hope the woman gets help for her sufferings and the father and kids can learn to understand and forgive without becoming traumatized.
Two cookies to Alacar for working so fast with the Core Set, and for getting post #1,000!
I've also been looking through PolarBearGod's incredible artwork thread for the missing pieces of artwork, but I haven't found any suitable ones for the remaining cards you just listed. I'm sorry I couldn't help you... But I did find quite a few for my own creation, which is not yet to be revealed... It's quite a bit left until it's finished, though.
Shinigami are Japan's version of the Grim Reaper, but on a smaller scale. They are spirits of death, almost like a dark equivalent to angels, if you will. Shinigami's Ballad is the story of one such spirit, Momo, and her winged cat Daniel, as they carry out the normal duties assigned to Shinigami. Momo's trademark sound is the tinkling of a bell, and when it is heard, it means someone is near death or about to die. Momo is a kind Shinigami, very unlike the Western stereotype of the Grim Reaper. Says Momo, "I cry for the dead, because they cannot cry for themselves".
The series consists of six short stories that showcase poignant moments in the lives of different people. Their common link is that one or more characters in these stories dies or approaches death, and is subsequently visited by Daniel and Momo. This isn't a series to just watch an episode of and then walk away. Each episode is poignant, elegant, and contains a lesson of some sort - much like, if you've heard of it, the TV series "Touched By An Angel". This is an anime for thinking, introspection, and inspiration - and sometimes a box of tissues as well. The incidents it portrays showcase carefully chosen examples of death and how humans deal with it. So whether you're feeling introspective, having trouble dealing with feelings of loss, or just looking for something to watch on a rainy day, this anime is there to help.
Shadowfox: Congrats on post 1200! Also, that card looks very very interesting.. only gets more broken as time goes by. Though it does die if I don't have enough permanents to tap.
Thanks for all the good words, and the two cookies! Core Set will be complete by the end of the day at this rate. I've managed to write out all the remaining flavor text so all that remains are the handful of arts I'd like. I can still fall back on the original art.
Well, now that that's over with, I think I'll resume playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I have no clue what I'm doing tomorrow, since it's my day off. I had a bit of inspiration today, so I may finally start that book I've been meaning to write since forever ago. Who knows.
I spent today reading old Animerica magazines at work, and I came across an import review of Tales of Symphonia during which the reviewer said he hoped it got ported to the U.S. - LOL. I also used the gift card I got for Christmas to eat lunch at Bob Evans. They have some good food, especially the pot-roast sandwich.
Nooo! They're all John Avon lands! Where are the gorgeous Mirage Swamps? The stunning Portal Three Kingdoms Mountains? The dark Tempest Plains?
Also, Alacar, Tithe and Dwarven Miner arts seem very good to me... Why change them?
Tithe is a hard one to find art for.. also, I picked Avon because his website had the biggest arts for basic lands I ever done saw, AND he did the unhinged lands. Smexy.
Feel free to drop Tithe from the list. Dwarven Miner.. maybe.
Can't complain about John Avon lands. I think they are absolutely tremendous. But those P3K Mountains were truly incredible as well, Umgenni Kemo. It's the first time I've seen them.

@ Shadowfox: The card's very interesting, I like it a lot. If you want to make it less powerful, then maybe either increase the activation cost, or make it tap and count less types of permanents... (lands and artifacts only, for example; enchantments shouldn't get tapped anyway :p).
I can't find the card. Link please, so I may share my thoughts too?
I think Congested Capital is nuts as is. Fixing is admitedly tricky but there's lots of ways you could go with it, depending on your environment. For example, if the CU and the ability both only keyed off of creatures, it would still be potentially powerful (i.e., a nerfed Gaea's Cradle) but difficult to keep around. Or you could have it add mana only for the permanents it tapped, but then it would be very slow (it wouldn't net you any mana over a basic land until the second turn after you play it). Or, how about?:
Congested Capital
Legendary Land
At the beginning up your upkeep, tap target land or creature you control without a crowd counter and put a crowd counter on it. Permanents with crowd counters on them don't untap during your untap step. T: Add 1 to you mana pool for each permanent you control with a crowd counter on it.
Less elegant, but more balanced and more comboable (untap effects are happy, Power Conduit is a gas, etc.). Just some suggestions.
