Hey all, Been pretty busy as of late. The super bowl was ok, that first TD was sweet. Well, it was thought alot and it happened, the colts won. well, ggs bears.
Oh, also i saw somthin about a Extended precon thingy in the Playtesting groups area. Could i possibly get in that? didnt see a thread anywhere >_>
Never liked runescape much..
A chimp predicts the sb? Lol...
Too bad the chimp failed. Bet that was a let down.
Yay, thanks Dreia! The image has been added to the Random Cuteness Section of the first post!
And I'm talkin to a friend of mine about my D&D character and he's like "Okay open your book, get your character sheet and we'll put you together" and i'm like "GAH! YAY sure" its kinda like... whasit, you wanna help me do something I've said i wanna do for a while, and still haven't done?"
Also has anyone played Runescape?? Opinions???
Mr. Stuff.. PLEEEASE do Link & Zelda.... and if you simply cannot, is there a male character/romantic lead to Yomiko in R.O.D ???
Also are there any other reading/literary oriented animes????
As for me, now i'm going to go do some extra credit work, and then its either developin' my D&D character, playing Runescape or watching a movie... or all 3!
What is Runescape? Is it that card game/board game where you make a deck around a character or something?
Speaking of ROD- Mamelon's screen name on the WotC boards is Agent Paper.

[16:23] Alacar Leoricar: maybe if you do it'll make the porn more meaningful
- @Yomiko: A male counterpart never really appears for Yomiko, although it is hinted slightly that she may have a thing going on with Nancy, aka Miss Deep... O_o
- @Anime
Well, besides the R.O.D movie and the TV series, there's... um...
Thinking...
Still thinking...
I'm fairly certain you'd enjoy the movie Whisper of the Heart immensely if you can find a copy, since it's a story based around a girl who loves books and wants to be a writer.
After the disappearance of her sister in the anime, a talking parakeet nicknamed Ken-chan introduces Hazuki to another major character of the series; Lilith, the caretaker of the Great Library. Each book in the library contains a different world, and the guardian of the library takes on the title Yami.
Maybe... Though it does have books (each book is a world they travel to), it's a bit, um, yuri (lesbianistic) in the character of its relationships. Hrmm.... What else...
Twelve Kingdoms is based on a series of books, much like the Redwall cartoons. I know that's not exactly what you asked for, but I'm stretching for ideas here...
That's about all I've got as far as book or writing anime. I'd say maybe Mushishi, since it involves writing/drawing, but I've only seen the first episode, so I can't speak for how the series develops at all. However, there are plenty of mighty-fine anime out there that aren't centered around books. I get the feeling you'd enjoy a serious anime like Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora or Jin-Roh, for some reason.

OMG I know.. lesbian tension anyone?
Also, I LOVE WHISPER OF THE HEART!
Anyways, I'm goin' in for the night. I might pop on again before I go to bed.
As weird as this sounds, Mamelon, I did not know that. I guess I've got to pay more attention to things. Are you a sibling of Photon? I think I might remember seeing that somewhere, although I had forgotten. Sorry about that, I feel really dumb not knowing that you live with them.
That's fine, it actually doesn't come up all that much. Anyway, yes, Photon is my big brother.
Quote from Alacar »
Mamelon: Yes indeed, Lina Inverse! As for the purple skin.. it's from the original picture.
Ah, yes, of course. The contrast threw me off.

@mamelon: *waves at mamelon* Have a great week at work next week!
Thanks! You too. *hugs*
Quote from Arguas2617 »
In actuality, it's been clarified before, but Mamelon is actually Photon's little brother (technically). In terms of gender dysphoria (correct me if I'm wrong), her mindset is actually female, which is what she identifies herself with in general, so we know Mamelon as female.
Fixed.

Right now I'm kind of in a funky mood.... I'm not entirely certain why.... parts of it, I believe, root from the way things have been happening in the past week or so... where it doesn't immediately seem apparent that I am attempting change.. and I just feel kind of crummy about that, especially since Arguas is/was experiencing some doubts... and I just feel badly that I haven't been living up to what I said I would, constantly... and while we did talk about it on Friday night and agreed that it needs more time to determine whether things are incapable of change or not.... While both of us acknowledge that change takes time to cultivate, I'm scared that I'm essentially incapable of changing this/these parts of myself... and I'm so scared of the "spark" that he felt, ultimately disappearing again, and him trying to force himself to feel again, when things had been going so well, and now what if the things I'm doing, destroys what I'm trying so hard for... thus deteriorating the feelings he had...... I'm becoming afraid that the only way he can reach that feeling of intensity is to go for weeks without seeing me... because that's what happened the last time... And the fact that he views so immediately negatively on my academics... that just hurts, even when I'm trying to improve on it... but it just.. I don't know, its just depressing I guess.. I went to a party last night, and had a lot of fun... but still its just... I wake up this morning and just...blaaahh...
It's okay, Danica. Just don't stress so much about it. There are things about you that are hard to change - this is true for everybody. Don't expect change to happen quickly. Because when it doesn't, the disappointment will make you feel hopeless.
There's no need to have an intense passion brewing, especially right off the bat. Being dissatisfied with anything less than overwhelming desire is a good way to set yourself up for, well, dissatisfaction.
May I ask what this issue was concerning academics?

I prefer college football more and the lovely University of Michigan wolverines. (Ohioans please don't pick on me!)
Awww. I'm from Ohio, and some of the people here have this crazy distaste for Michigan fans. It's insane to my eyes. Don't worry, though, I don't even understand football.
Quote from Yukora »
Aww, Dreia, don't go and make me hate you. I respected you so much. I can like the packers because they're a great team, and are worthy of my admiration

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
Heya Mamelon! You'll always be a wonderful woman to me.
Well, thanks. That reminds me of that old song . . .
"She's always a woman to me . . ."
I hope I'm not like the girl in that song, though. She sounded nasty.

I'm a Packer man, through, and through. It comes with the territory.
Ah, well that would do it.
So the Bears lost, and boy did they deserve to. Grossman was useless, half of his long passes ended in interceptions and the other half should have by all rights. The defense, which is usually superb, just couldn't get a grip on the Colts' passing game and pretty much every pass Manning threw turned to gold. It was a crazy game for sure and made Super Bowl history a couple times over (yes, it was the first time the kickoff was returned for a touchdown in Super Bowl history; it was also the most turnovers in the first quarter of a Super Bowl ever), but after halftime it was just a depressing game to watch.
So, a hardy congrats to the Colts. They've been a strong team for years; no one can claim they don't deserve this win. I'm not sure how much of this win was their doing and how much of it was the Bears' failure, but I guess that doesn't mater much. It's just a little saddening because the Colts will probably still be a great team next year, whereas the Bears have a history of completely falling to pieces every time they post a good season. *sigh* At this rate, I'll be 42 when the Bears play in a Super bowl again...

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
@Mamelon: Thank you for your kind words... as for academics... Ryan is extremely intent on excelling in his academics... I tend to sometimes put more emphasis on those around me, and I'm less likely to focus as intently on my academic career.. and as a result, Ryan views me a bit more lowly than he otherwise would, because it would APPEAR that I don't care about my academics.. whereas I do care, of course, but when it comes to putting priority, I tend to put people first, before my academic life, and also for unknown reasons, I have difficulties focusing on certain assignments sometimes (papers, most notably)... and to him that reflects a lesser sense of intellectual capability, which to him is something he desires not to associate himself with, due to a previous bad experience.
Apparently people aren't understanding the whole idea of a league. Or at least, how I've always seen a league.
It works similarly to a DBG or playgroup in that you play anyone in the group whenever you can. It's good to have a wide variety of people you play against, so you're not only playing against me, but like me, Joyd, Alacar, everyone basically. But it's whenever you can, not set up like a tournament. Leagues are long-term deals, not just one-shot things like the Academy Tourney we had a couple months back.
If anyone understands and has dealt with this type of league before, the help would be greatly appreciated.

To add upon the description of the league, a league is great for people to improve upon there deckbuilding and playing while Having tons of fun. In previous leagues, i have had so much fun. Some leagues Hold drafts and mini tournaments later on when precons have turned into competitive decks etc. Its always good fun, and a good competition for everyone. The fact that its play when you want makes it flexible for everybody. You also get to learn good contacts for playtesting, and develop good freindships and contacts for helping with your decks. I love leagues
