OH LORD CASHEWS. I adore cashews. It's just a shame that they're so a) fatty... I was kind of surprised to find that cashews have a high fat content.

Congrats on the Wii and on becomming Regular of the Week!
By the way, did you by any chance review my card in the Coffeehouse Set thread? Because if it meets your approval, I can continue with my other cards, which follow a similar theme.
Anyway, Congrats on RotW and getting a Wii, Fox. I need to get me one of both of those. I already have a 2nd controller for my brother to use when we get a Wii. I still need to pick up a Classic Controller though. And more than that, I still need to find a job. I've been looking around the area, but so far, I've heard nothing. I hope this will be changing very shortly.
Edit: That reminds me. I'd like to get a new avvy and banner. I know I say that a lot, but this time...I mean it!
Heh, you and me both. There are only a few *old* regulars left that haven't gotten the ROTW treatment yet, to my knowledge:
Umgenni Kemo
BuzzDX
Mr. Stuff
Janus
Nemcon
I still need to find a job as well... A real one. The one I have sucks.
Well, in 30 minutes or so, I'll be off to see Epic Movie. I'll be sure to let you all know how good (or bad) it is when I get back. I have my misgivings, but then again, there are parts that look hilarious, too.
Yup, seen that strip. I absolutely love it. I posted about it when it came up. Am I geeky in that I can remember, off the top of my head, the level and speaker of all but about 2 of those quotes?
And of course I can help you! I can't do anything TOO complicated but I'll be happy to give it a shot. I'm the Coffeehouse's personal shopper.
Grand! I was wondering sir, would it be possible to have the words 'Tally Hall' written vertically, next to each other, in the righthand top corner of my current banner?
@ Nai:
Actually, which particular Starfox game are those quotes from?
Indeed, I'm looking forward to reading how this is all going to turn out Somehow though, I don't see Miko becomming remorseful all of a sudden...
"The Gods have betrayed us all!", something like that
Grand! I was wondering sir, would it be possible to have the words 'Tally Hall' written vertically, next to each other, in the righthand top corner of my current banner?

I'll go backwards. Those quotes are from Starfox 64, or Starfox for the SNES.
I'll be happy to do that when I get home. Doesn't seem to be hard at all!
And I know.. Miko won't stop until she's dead. Maybe she'll just get more tempestuous towards the gods.. enough to, say, join a certain lich and his minions?
Every single one of the quotes in the comic is from varying levels of Star Fox 64, from almost every male character, mostly Fox and Falco, but also including Slippy (who is of undetermined gender).

I feel like I've had someone's foot lodged in my gut all day and finally! yes finally! it's gone. But now sadly I'm dizzy. This just ain't fair.
Just thought I'd post this here.. because it's too cute to ignore I thought of Mamelon as soon as I saw it
Hahaha that is rather adorable. I looked at it and thought the exact same thing actually, well first I thought of my girlfriend (total fangirl), but then of Mamelon.
That... Is completely cute to no end. An ex girlfriend of mine sang that song, and I had no idea where it came from. Now I sort of remember it. Very cute. And yes, reminds me of Mamelon.
I've only ever played Starwing on the SNES, so I didn't recognise any of the quotes (although I did understand that some sort of quotes were being used).
@ Alacar:
I look forward to seeing the result of your work sir
* Janus raises his cup to Alacar
Also, that song... It's... OMG...

Regarding OotS, I don't think Rich would go so far as to let Miko become evil, even though she'd make one heck of a Blackguard.
heh, sometimes it's the funniest thread alive. But sometimes it's just inevitable tragedy that people get banned from an Internet magic forum.
@cecilia: Here's a question. When you hug and/or blow kisses to everyone in the coffeehouse, how exactly do you manage to do it? My calculations show that:
Given the Coffeehouse has ~20 regular members and 10 weekly posters,
Given that it takes about 40 seconds to blow someone a kiss and 1 minute to give someone a hug,
Assuming that you hug and/or blow kisses to each one of us one by one,
You post 1.7 posts per day in here on average,
It stands to reason that either a)
You spend between 34 mins (hugs only) and close to an hour (hugs + blow kisses) in the Coffeehouse making your farewells every day;
or b) you hug and kiss EVERYONE at once on your departure, saving countless hours a week. But to hug EVERYONE (approx 30 people) at once means you would have to have an armspan of about 14 meters, assuming an average Coffeegoer waist circumference of 72.8 cm and assuming we are tightly packed in a circle, with the center entirely filled.
Remarkable, indeed.
I'll leave the practical physics of blowing kisses to a large group at once, to someone with more calculation skills and imagination.
I'd have to agree that the joke was funny, estimates waaaay off.
Is anyone else amused by this? "Sure, the death of Jesus Christ is interesting I guess, but I prefer the one about the 2-bit opera singer and her stalker."
Sad, but true aspect of culture! Idk, this kind of made me laugh too
I would like to point out that there are dramatic musicals, and am obliged to dredge up Sweeney Todd as my favourite example.
There's comedy, but it's as black as...as black as...something.
And the songs actually highten the dramatic effect nicely.
Though, of course, I enjoy songless drama as well.
Sweeney Todd was definitely very dark. I do believe the description you were looking for is "As black as the oven you're baked in."
Oh, I know. I hate Miko, and she got everything she deserved. Goodbye Miko the Paladin, hello Miko the fighter without bonus feats.
Miko is simply overzealous, but that was also how she was trained. I personally wonder if it would shock her eventually once the aftermath is finished.
By the way, I honestly wonder if it has been posted here, but any RP fans would LOVE this
I'll do my best to list the levels/characters they come from, in spoilered form, from start to finish. I'm not 100% correct here.
"Looks like we've got company," is a Fox quote. I can't quite remember where (since it's a very generic comment), but I think it's from either Katrina or the first Star Wolf fight.
"What's the big idea Fox?!" is a Falco line, if you shoot him too much.
"Switching to all range mode," is from Fox in any of the several times when you go to the 'arena battle' fights, instead of the rail fights. Generally for boss fights.
"Jeez laweez what is that?!" is from Falco again, this time talking about the boss from that one toxic planet on the hard path.
"This baby can take tempuratures of up to 9000 degrees," is actually from Slippy, talking about the Arwing when you're on the sun level.
"The hatches are open," is from Fox's friend, Bill, on Katrina when the boss opens the hatces to be shot at.
"Location confirmed, sending supplies," is from ROB, of course, when he sends you bombs and other goodies after confirming with C.
"Why don't you come down here Falco," is from Fox while he's in the Blue Marine on the one water level, after banter with Falco. I believe Falco responds with "I'll stick to the skies", or some such line.
"Shoot he's right behind me" is Falco when he's being chased by enemies and needs you to shoot them.
"Don't relax, we're not done yet," is one of the few I can't recall exactly. I think it's Fox on that one military base on the easy track, but I can't remember.
"You worry about your own hide!" is Falco, to Fox, on the mission results screen after Corneria.
"Open the Wings!" is... I think from the train boss about his little kite thing on Macbeth. Not quite sure.
"Too late, Game over pal" is Falco, talking to a subordinate when you're attacking the frigates on the second-to-last level on the Hard path.
"Urgh" would, amazingly enough, probably be Fox when you die. Either that, or it's for flavor in that comic. No pun intended.
"All aircraft report," is Fox when you come up to the mission results.
"Pretty smooth flying fox," is from Falco when you fly under the arches on Corneria, just before he shows you the way to the hard path under the waterfall.
"I guess I should be thankful," is Falco after you take care of enemies tailing him.
"Sorry to Jet, but I'm in a hurry," is Fox to the boss of the Asteroids, just before said boss explodes.
"Can't let you do that [Star] Fox," is Wolf on Venom when they take you on. Hard path.
I think I'm mostly correct on there. I claim the Geeky trophy.
Bridget: For the Gamer Who Isn't Sure What They Are Either
Hehe...Fixed.
No one really is sure what gender Slippy is, but I assume that he is a male. I haven't played any of the newer SF games, so I don't know if anything was brought up in those games.
Me too. In fact, I admit to having a slight crush-style attraction to her. Especially when I saw Cremia (the eldest sister of the Romani Ranch in Majora's Mask). I guess I just have a thing for redheads.
And Nai.. you do not get the Geek trophy, you get the I-Spend-Too-Much-Time-Playing: trophy, with the category of Starfox. Who else has won this trophy, and for which category?
Hi everyone, I'm just posting here to vent about MW's banning, because I don't know where else to.
I am seriously pissed off at the mods for this. Banning is too far--no matter what you say, MW contributed a ton to the entire forum. And he was a Devils fan--always important. The only problem was his temper.
Anyway, I might try to catch up with him on IM sometime, and this is sort of my farewell to him.
Heya, everybody. How was everyone's day? Hope it was wonderful.
I had something I was going to share, but since I blogged about it, I figured I'd just link to it, in case anyone wants to read it.
There sure is a lot to catch up on.

@Condiments: I. Love. Them. Mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, peanut butter, whatever. You know, a lot of these are good together. Mustard and mayonnaise, and (surprise) mustard and peanut butter cooked together.
I like dijon mustard, but any is good. I also adore vinegar of various types.
As for mint, I enjoy it. Mint and chocolate are a favorite, familiar combination, but mint can also be very pleasant combined with a savory dish, adding lightness and a refreshing zest. Mint is also exceedingly lovely in tea.
Cinnamon is good in both of these roles, I find. A dish I really like is beef marinated in vinegar and cinnamon, and seared or pan-fried with onions, crisp vegetables, and rice.
A dish I recommend to anyone is chicken sauteéd and cooked in a sauce with onions, wine vinegar, black pepper, and peanut butter. Yes, peanut butter. It blends together excellently.
And jam is delicious. On bread, on waffles, in tea . . . yum.
@Nemcon: It's good to see you back! I hope you are doing okay. I worry for you, honestly. You always seem so depressed and troubled.
@Evan: I'd be happy to call you by your first name.

All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
I actually did something I don't like to do: I bugged Sneaky for a person issue. This one was the blog, of course. We'll see what happens. But, to console myself, I also included two issues that concern the PnP Inn, just so it wasn't a completely selfish PM. Meh... I don't know why, but I don't like to bother people in positions of power.
