Debating gay marriage would be super-fun, in a school-type context.
On the other hand, in a governmental context, it's no fun at all, and I'm vaguely worried it's going to happen here in Canada, though of course one can't be sure before the fact.
Anyways, the gay marriage dispute is rough here in Alberta. We're headed by neocons so It's always a losing battle
In other news, I hate the fact that If I were to go out with a guy right now (as in high school) you'd be committing social suicide. A good friend of mine and I are both into each other, but the reality is that it just wouldn't ****ing work. Gawdamn...
Trenton. I'm confident that it wouldn't be social suicide for you. You of all people should be able to handle the repurcussions. It's a risk but I have faith in you. Does Mr. secretloverpersondude also have that strength?

Ah, im in ontario, and here, there was this guy in my g12 lunch who i talked to sometimes. *hated teh bugger, but that isnt important*. He came out with guns blazing during grade 11, and was just... so over the top that people didnt quite believe him / didnt care.
He managed to spend the entire time in grade 12 fine, as the "the gay guy". He ended up dating this guy, and even brought him to prom. Appearently, most of the women in the schol didnt care overly. Though the Brown guys in the school did make things pretty wierd for him at times *-).

So like... has anyone had any dating experience?
I've been in a couple relationships, but usually it involves a lot of MSN, and then after a couple weeks (AKA 2 or 3 days) we decide to be a couple and kind of skip the whole "casual coffee date" phase... Anyone else in that boat?
Currently, I've been on a couple of coffee dates with a specific someone, but I don't know if it's going anywhere. We always have a good time, but like... we don't ever really... it doesn't go further than that, and I'm not quite sure what to do aside form "wait and see what happens."

Not even close. I'm reluctant to get into anything serious with someone I've gotten to know over a long time, so it's pretty much unfathomable for me to jump into something even relatively serious in so short a time. Though I have seen a few friends do exactly that. Date for a week and then all of a sudden they're in a relationship.
Currently, I've been on a couple of coffee dates with a specific someone, but I don't know if it's going anywhere. We always have a good time, but like... we don't ever really... it doesn't go further than that, and I'm not quite sure what to do aside form "wait and see what happens."
Well, a very important question to ask here is what do you want? It could be as simple as passing a transition threshold from one phase of a courtship (I cannot believe I just used that word without irony) to the next. Waiting and seeing is one tactic, but I'm much more of a fan of seizing the moment. Decide what it is you want and then go after it.
Strangely eldoon, i have never actually "dated" someone. Like, we would go out and whatever, but i wouldnt ever concider what i do dating.
STRANGELY, the only time ive done the casual coffee thing with someone was with my friend whom i had a thing for. Nothing ever came of it due to moving to BC, but the facts remain.
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to do the normal "Dating" thing. First date coffee, second date food/movies, third date X. Never quite have been able to pull it off.

Having read the foremost post, i.e. post number one, I am unable to pick up the actual gist of this clan, save a couple of things.
What exactly is does being a member entail? What are the prerequisites?
At the moment, I'm intrigued by this clan, and so, I have decided that I'd attempt to earn the camaraderie, and rapport of this clan, and so I ask: "May I earn the camaraderie, and rapport of this clan?".
Quote from blue »
We are a loose association of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning gamers and those who are friendly to them.
I'm uncertain as to where I fit in, but I am indubitably affable, and outgoing with said parties.:)
eldoon: You've only been on a couple of dates. You shouldn't be looking to have a relationship with them so soon. I think you should step back a little and look at how quickly you're trying to make things happen.
What you get depends on what you want entirely. If you want a relationship then you will need to wait longer. Talking online on MSN for 3 hours straight can seem like the equivalent of 3 weeks of coffee dates every day. But in real world terms that's just not enough to start a relationship. Maybe you guys start dating after that but you wouldn't be exclusive. So if you want a relationship then you need to gain a little perspective on how long getting to know someone without the internet actually takes.
If all you want is some sex then I'd say you're about to miss your boat.
You seem a little trepid about the whole relationship thing anyways. How much farther do you want it to go? If you feel the connection then do something about it. But don't try to force there to be a connection.
So advice:
If you want relationship: Be patient. But definitely kick things up a notch to let him know that's what you're after.
If you want sex: Be aggressive. He's not going to do anything you don't welcome.
MagicMage: Give us the skinny on ya. What's doin. What's shakin. What's goin down. What's you all's about.
Welcome Magic Mage. All you need to do to be a member here is tell us a little bit about yourself. Using words like "indubitably" never hurts either. Since we're an overclan you can be a member here without it affecting your status with any other clan.

Really? I would think Gaymers is the clan with the premise that's easiest to figure out. It's pretty much all in the name. It's the spot for non-heterosexual members of Salvation to hang out and socialize. Straight members aren't unwelcome, but for the most part, we have an LGBT theme.
I guess in that way, the clan exemplifies different things for different posters. Some like the guidance we can offer, some like the shallow discussion, some like the serious discussions of gay issues that spring up from time to time, and some are here for socializing with people who share a common trait. Some are here for all the above.
If you're not going to tell us anything about yourself, how are we supposed to get to know you? All I know about you right now is that you post like that V for Vendetta guy ... and that doesn't really give me much to go on.

Um...let's see.
I've never been on an actual date. All the time I've spent with my boyfriend before we started dating was with friends.
If you want a real relationship, talking over the internet for hours and hours just isn't gonna cut it. You HAVE to go out and do things with them, because talking in person and talking over the internet are two different sides of people. You gotta be patient and willing to take it slow.
If you want sex...I don't think you'd have to do much talking. depending upon the person.

I had a crazy migraine when I woke up today, which is weird, seeing as how I have never had a migraine before. I'm positive I don't want another, it absolutely sucked
i used to get migraines all the time junior year. I figured out it was because of the computer monitors in programming. Staring at bright screen for 45 minutes and stressing out over what was on that screen [I'm terrible at programming, therefore it stressed me out. :p] triggered them.
Now I keep all of my computer screens on the darker side, just because bright light bothers me.
Migraines are NOT fun. Luckily, Excedrin Migraine does wonders.
So the boy next door screws a different chick every couple nights...now he and my roommate are out drinking or something [neither are of age, but that doesn't really matter in college...]...I'm kind of wondering if she'll even come back here tonight. haha. I swear, though, that if i hear the bed banging against the wall, I'm gonna tell them to screw less violently or something, after pounding on the door.
He's completely clueless that people have heard him screwing people. It's so funny!

Okay, I'm a gal, and I'm not really sure whether I am *** (I feel the word is taboo, nonetheless, especially so in this particular whereabouts). I'm friendly towards *** (there's that word again), because I really don't see any point why they shouldn't "done unto others as they do unto you", and frankly, I don't like discriminating against anything or anyone (well, save a couple of things, or not); I have been exposed to *** paraphernalia, from time to time, such as students who are/were *** (yes, that word), and *** music, inter alia.
Hmm...I am XY years old, and have had edified at numerous pre-eminent establishments, such as ABCDEF; oh, the accolade of being an introvert is copious, and I generally don't fit in anywhere, I guess.
Oh, besides that, I spell, grammaticize (oh noes! I err!^_^), and punctuate with British conventions, but I'm protean with that regard.

@Mikey: Yeah, since people at school found out, all I hear is "At least i'm not gay" or "at least I don't love dick" or "***" or "homo" etc. It's quite shocking how homophobic some people are.

Magic Mage, I think I got the gist of your post, but your erudition makes it much, much harder to read.
I'd really be very grateful if you could possibly be slightly less verbose.
Also, the word "gay"(which, I believe, is what you were censoring) is not, in itself, inappropriate. It only becomes so when being used in an inappropriate fashion, which you certainly were not doing, so there isn't really a need to censor it.

First things first, welcome to eldoon and Magic Mage, and welcome back to PurpleD! Oh and Magic Mage, not that I'm an all-wise monk on the issue, but I think being able to say "I am gay", if you eventually think so, without having to censor yourself or whatever is a big step to realising and understanding your sexuality.
I actually didn't say that I was, nor did I imply that. Whoever knows whether I am gay...>.> I don't think I am...^_^
